Be careful how you build 2

1 Corinthians 3:9, 13-14 (NET) We are coworkers belonging to God. You are God’s field, God’s building. Each builder’s work will be plainly seen, for the Day will make it clear, because it will be revealed by fire. And the fire will test what kind of work each has done. If what someone has built survives, he will receive a reward. It is going to be very painful on that day for some because they will realize that all their lives work here on earth has amounted to nothing and they will not be rewarded. It will be particularly painful because they will see others receive their reward and placed in higher levels than them in the eternal kingdom. We will be rewarded with authority and crowns. We will be given territories to govern because princes govern territories. I believe that the size of your territory will be determined by the size of your reward. We know that the twelve apostles of the lamb will be given the choicest part of the His [earthly] kingdom to govern. They will rule from the headquarters (Jerusalem) with the Lord (see Mat 19:28, Rev 21:14). The rest of the world, and indeed the universe, will be to the rest of us to rule. We will inherit it all because all that Christ inherits is ours. We are joint heirs with the Lord. What makes a person’s work here on earth not to survive if tested on that day is if the work is of inferior quality. We saw yesterday that what makes your kingdom work of superior quality is the degree to which it brings and converts people to Christ. Many people have built their ministries around themselves and forgotten that they are only servants, and the people do not belong to them. The kingdom of God is centered on Christ; He is the foundation and also the chief cornerstone. Go into today remembering that your kingdom work here on earth will determine your kingdom ranking for eternity. Tosin believed that God had called her to minister healing to the sick. She had the spiritual gift of healing and manifestation of the prophetic, and her ministry was all about her spiritual gifts. However, unfortunately, she would minister healing to many sick people without bringing them to the knowledge of Christ. Even the believers who were in her ministry were not growing to become more like Christ. Because there were more and more people showing up every week, Tosin believed she was building accordingly, but one day she had a dream and saw that she had been building with hay since the day she started ministry. Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith. We cannot be Christians without Christ. Our goal as Christians is to become like Christ. As we grow spiritually, we grow into the fullness of the stature of Christ. Any kingdom work you do cannot count if it is not built on the foundation of Christ. This means in the final analysis, everything your ministry seeks to establish is Christ in the lives of people- That Christ may be formed in them (see Gal 4:19). Whatever your vision may be in ministry, never forget that it must be about Christ- it must be about people growing and becoming more like Christ. It must be about establishing the Lordship and righteousness of Christ everywhere. It must never be about anything else (see 1 Cor 2:1-2). The more Christ-centric a ministry is, the more precious the material used by the builder (minister). Go into today asking the Lord to help you build with gold and precious materials.Want to be saved? The Hope of the Believer

When Charles became a believer in the Lord Jesus, he was already making a lot of money from being a fraudster. He was already driving a brand new Mercedes Benz and had started building his first house while still a teenager in his second year on campus. But he accepted the Lord Jesus and knew he had to forsake that life of fraud. He left the life of fraud because of hope in Christ. He understood that there was nothing of this world that was too big to give up for inheriting the kingdom of God. He knew he could not continue in his life of sin and inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor 6:9-10). Because of sound teaching, he knew that all the wealth in this world put together was not sufficient to pay for the eternal glory of God’s eternal kingdom that he was called to inherit. But he also knew that this hope that made him forsake his ungodly wealth was not in this life of flesh and blood but in the life that is to come. For Charles, if his hope in Christ was only in this life, he would have been most miserable because he forsook a life of affluence and embraced the kingdom life of selflessness and sacrifice. Believers in Christ are those who set their affection on things above and not on things of this world (see Col 3:2). This doesn’t mean believers would not be relevant in this world. The more we focus on God’s kingdom and set our affection on things above, the more relevant and impactful we would be in this world because that is when our light would shine. Go into today remembering that as a believer in Christ, most of our hope is towards the eternal glory that would shine brighter even when all the glories of this world have failed and expired.—Abraham Damilola Arigi 🔊Download the Audio Version of today’s devotional here☞ https://bit.ly/aud2474 Bible In One Year: Genesis 24-27 (In Devotional Audio)Audio Bible credit: Bible Experience, Zondervan Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together.Streamglobe Devotional is nondenominational and interdenominational Get our free audio sermons Here: https://streamglobe.org/34 http://streamglobe.org/listen/DevotionalAudio1928.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 22:04 — 6.3MB)Subscribe: RSS

Some fruits of false teachings

1 Timothy 6:3-4 (NET)If someone spreads false teachings and does not agree with sound words (that is, those of our Lord Jesus Christ) and with the teaching that accords with godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing, but has an unhealthy interest in controversies and verbal disputes. This gives rise to envy, dissension, slanders, evil suspicions Before Charles met some sound believers on campus and became a believer in the Lord Jesus, he did not like charismatic Christians at all. He was not interested in being a believer because of his elder sister. Before she started attending a certain charismatic church, she used to be “nice” and “normal”. But as soon as she started attending that church, she became very suspicious. She would pray in tongues with fear, sprinkle anointing oil on even cockroaches and say “no one knows how they (my enemies) can come”.She wouldn’t travel anymore to the village because of fear, and she became very stingy because she said she didn’t want anyone to use her gifts and money as an evil point of contact against her. Even though she became a believer, these manifestations of fear and suspicion in her life were a product of false teachings. Some fruits to show that a believer has been feeding on false doctrines is that he becomes more fearful and suspicious. Sound doctrine should build faith, courage, and strength in your heart. It shouldn’t make you more fearful or suspicious. Even though we are to be sober and vigilant (by being prayerful), believers are never to be more fearful than unbelievers. Unbelievers should look up to us when they are afraid because we are the ones serving the living God. Go into today remembering that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind (see 2 Tim 1:7). Prayer: Heavenly Father, please deliver me from every spirit of fear. Please fill me with your Spirit of power, love, and self-control. The fight of faith 2

Ephesians 6:16 (KJV) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. I once had an interaction with a young man, and I noticed that he knew the things of the Lord and seemed to have some spiritual understanding. I wondered why he was living like an unbeliever. I asked him and he replied and said to me ‘I trusted God once but He failed me’. It was clear he was now living a life that was rebellious to God’s authority. I started praying for him since then. He was a casualty of spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare is really about the faith of the believer. It is not about any other mundane thing that may look like the focus of the attack. The devil is not threatened by the amount of money or anything else you can have, but he is threatened by your faith. It is most precious (1 Pet 1:7). When Satan attacked Job’s family, wealth, health, etc. the aim was to get Job to stop trusting in God, and as a result, get him to rebel against God’s authority; to curse God and die (Job 2:9). But Job kept the faith. He said ‘though He slays me, yet I will trust in Him’ (Job 13:15). And at the end, Job overcame. Why does the devil seek to attack believers with setbacks? It is because he wants to get them to the point where they no longer trust in God, and as a result, they rebel against God’s authority. This rebellion manifests in compromises, sins, etc. The way to always overcome is to keep your shield of faith up. That means no matter what, you insist on believing in God and confessing His word concerning your life and situation. As long as the shield of faith is up, you will always be the overcomer (Eph 6:16). Go into today remembering that every spiritual battle is about your faith first. Keep your faith intact and you will always overcome (see 1 John 5:4). —Abraham Damilola Arigi 🔊Download the Audio Version of today’s devotional here☞ https://bit.ly/aud3606 Bible In One Year: Matthew 14-16 (In Devotional Audio) Audio Bible credit: Bible Experience, Zondervan Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together. The fight of faith

During the season Ameh was going through a trial of faith, there was a particular period that his faith was really low. During this period he observed that he even started doubting the existence of God, despite all the remarkable acts of God he had experienced in the past. He couldn’t understand this, but all he could do was to continue to pray and dwell on God’s word. Each time he prayed in the spirit, he observed that his faith was boosted a little. He started investigating what was wrong: ‘why this strange drought of faith? ‘ He later found out that it was because, at that time, he allowed a guilty conscience linger. There was something he did that made him feel guilty, and he felt this guilt for a long time without addressing it appropriately. One of the strongest forces against our faith is a guilty conscience. With a guilty conscience, our spirits cannot fellowship with God, and this fellowship is the source of our strength. Those who allow their consciences to be violated for long risk having a shipwreck of faith (see 1 Tim 1:19). One of the major signs that your faith is sinking is that you will begin to doubt the willingness and ability of God to help you. This ultimately leads to doubting the existence of God. Go into today knowing that you are to avoid anything that leads to the constant violating of your conscience. No Condemnation

[John 3:18.] For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death. Uche couldn’t walk in the power of God because he lived under the spirit of condemnation. He had tried several times to quote Romans 8:1, but he was still under condemnation in his heart of hearts because he was not abiding in Christ. Even though he was very regular in church meetings, he had gone back to the world. He had gone back to his worldly friends and family members. He had gone back to his old way of doing things, but for a few exceptions. Today’s Bible verse is one very powerful and important scripture that every believer must know and understand. But this truth of no condemnation only applies to those who are in Christ Jesus. What does it mean to be in Christ Jesus? It means to believe in the Lord Jesus and Abide in Him. Believing means accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord(Master) and savior. It means you surrender the ownership and control of your life to the Lord Jesus. If Jesus has truly become your Lord, His will and Word will rule your life. The reason why we repent when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior is because we have submitted to new management, and everything in us and about us that was contrary to His way of doing things has to change. What does it mean to abide in the Lord Jesus? It means to remain in Him and not go back to the world; your old manner of life. It means to abide in the church (which is His body) and be submitted to the authority of Christ through His church and be accountable to your Christian brothers and sisters. Those who abide in Christ are those who are said to be in Christ, and there is no condemnation for them, only blessings. They walk in the light as He is in the light, they have fellowship with their Christian brethren, and the blood of Jesus cleanses them from all sin (1 John 1:7). The devil’s chief weapon against people is condemnation and a guilty conscience. With it, a believer cannot overcome the devil and would not be able to appropriate the grace and power of God that has been made freely available to him. The reason why those who will overcome the devil will do so by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony is that the blood of Jesus is our answer to the accusations of Satan. When the devil reminds you of a sin that you have repented of, remind him of the cross and the blood of Jesus. He has no answer to that. Jesus was crucified as the penalty for your sins. He has already paid for your sins on the cross. The reason the devil sends accusations against us is that he wants us to suffer for our past sins, but for those who are in Christ, Jesus has already suffered and paid for their sins. Go into today thanking the Lord because there is no condemnation for you if you are Christ Jesus. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Job 11-12 (In Today’s Audio) 🔊Get the Audio Version of this devotional here☞ https://bit.ly/aud2470 Bible In One Year: Judges 1-6 (In Devotional Audio) Audio Bible credit: Bible Experience, Zondervan Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together. The Resurrection 2

1 Corinthians 15:12-13 (KJV)Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen It surprises me that there are some people who say that they believe that there will be a resurrection of the dead, but they don’t believe that Christ was raised from the dead nor was He the Son of God. I find it hard to believe that such people truly believe in the resurrection. The reason believers in Christ Jesus believe in the resurrection is because we also believe that our Lord and Savior resurrected bodily, and because he resurrected, we as members of His body are assured that we too will resurrect. The same scriptures that foretold His death, burial, and resurrection also say we too would resurrect (see Isaiah 53:3-6, Psalm 16:10, Psalm 22:7-8, 18, 16, 31, Job 19:25-26, etc). Since Christ truly died and resurrected (according to what the scriptures foretold), we too would resurrect like Christ (according to what the scriptures foretell). For a person who does not believe that the Lord resurrected, there is no basis for him believing that he would resurrect. Go into today remembering that without the teaching and understanding about the resurrection, your gospel is not complete (see 1 Corinthians 15:1-22). It is because of an understanding of this truth that believers can live holy contented lives in this present world. It is because of the understanding of the glory that the resurrection would reveal in us that believers do not serve mammon like the rest of the world. The devil has been trying since the beginning of the church to obscure this truth from the believers because he knows the power this truth activates. Prayer: Pray for yourself and for the Christians in your nation, that the truth of the full gospel will bring divine transformation.—Abraham Damilola Arigi Streamglobe is nondenominational. Faith or risk?

1 John 5:14 (KJV) And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. Jide grew up very poor so one of his greatest desires in life was to become very rich and powerful. He wanted to own the biggest house in his village and drive the most expensive cars. When he realized that through faith, people could receive things from the Lord, he decided to begin to apply faith toward his dream of riches. He took many risks. There were times he wouldn’t eat properly because he had given all his money in hopes that he would receive the kind of riches he wanted from the Lord. Jide didn’t receive the riches he expected from the Lord. He later found out that it wasn’t that God didn’t want to make him rich, but his motive for asking was wrong, it was pride of life. God does not reward bad motives. For your faith not to be you just taking risks, your faith has to be based on the word and will of God. If there is anything to learn about God’s predestination, it is that God doesn’t do anything He never first planned to do. The power of God would not work to furnish your pride or massage your ego, it would work to fulfill God’s word and do His will. The onus is on us to ensure we are found within His will. When dealing with God, your motive and the state of your heart is very important. God would rather give you something simply because you ask and desire it than give it to you to furnish your pride and lust (see James 4:3). One of the most effective ways of asking and receiving from the Lord is to factor your request within the context of what you are sure is God’s will for you. Go into today remembering that God’s will is superior to your faith, and God would not do anything against His will. Ensure that your faith always aligns with God’s will so that it would be fruitful.—Abraham Damilola Arigi 🔊Get the Audio Version of this devotional here☞ https://bit.ly/aud3602 Bible In One Year: Judges 1-6 (In Devotional Audio)Audio Bible credit: Bible Experience, Zondervan Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together.Streamglobe Devotional is nondenominational and interdenominational Get our latest sermons and resources here: https://streamglobe.org https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3602.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 37:04 — 12.8MB)Subscribe: RSS

Destined for greatness

Matthew 23:11-12 (KJV) But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. When Osimhen got baptized in the Holy Ghost, he knew he was to be a servant of God. As he grew in spiritual understanding, he realized that people could be great in the kingdom and this greatness had its attendant benefits. What Osimhen did not understand was that the way to kingdom greatness was humility and service. He wanted to be a servant of God, but he did not want to serve but be in charge and be served. He was frustrated because even though he fasted and prayed a lot, he knew he was not growing in kingdom authority and greatness. He gave himself great titles, but within him, he knew that he was not great. He cried to the Lord one morning after some things happened that reminded him of how low his spiritual state was. In answer to his prayer, the Lord orchestrated his steps until came in contact with a sermon that changed his perspective and transformed his life. His perspective of ministry changed from that of a person who sought to get to someone who sought to give and serve. In the kingdom of God, greatness is attained through service. You grow the ranks as you serve, and it is impossible to serve acceptably without humility. A man who has the mind to rule will not attain greatness in the kingdom of God, but a man who has the mind to serve will. Go into today, asking the Lord to purify your motives and help you serve acceptably. Remember, you are destined for greatness, and having a heart that gives and serves is the way to this greatness.—Abraham Damilola Arigi 🔊Get the Audio Version of this devotional here☞ https://bit.ly/aud3601 Bible In One Year: Genesis 20-23 (In Devotional Audio)Audio Bible credit: Bible Experience, Zondervan Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together.Streamglobe Devotional is nondenominational and interdenominational Get our latest sermons and resources here: https://streamglobe.org https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3601.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 19:37 — 6.8MB)Subscribe: RSS
