Agriculture and farming is very important to the sustenance of a nation. It’s amazing how a tiny grain of seed can reproduce, be processed and be packaged in different forms, in order to feed many. Many, however, don’t care about how it all works. They forget that before products are ever placed on store shelves as food, a seed was sacrificed and buried. Many believers have also forgotten that God’s Word calls us the planting of the Lord, which means that we are also seeds. At our new birth, we become seeds in His hands, which afterwards must then go through the process of dying in order to bear fruit (Isa 61:3, Lk 9:23) From our Bible verse, it is inevitable for us to die and it doesn’t necessarily mean physical death, but rather, it means us sacrificing daily our fleshly man for the sake of maintaining our oneness with Christ. When this becomes our life’s pattern, His desires will then become our own desires, prompting us to act in faith by way of evangelism, to the conversion of souls of men from being worthless weeds destined for destruction, into valuable, life carrying and seed-bearing fruits by the help of the Holy Spirit. This is what bearing fruit and feeding the nations is all about (Jn 15:1-17). It is one of the clearest ways by which the sincerity of our love for God is proven. Just like Jesus asked Peter to sacrifice his life for the sake of feeding the church, He is also asking us today to give up ordinary fishing (pursuing things that appeal to the flesh) and instead become fishers of men by feeding them with the Word of God (Matt 4:19 Matt 28:19, Jn 14:15, Jn 21:16-19). Go into today, denying the flesh for the sake of Christ and as you do so, your life will become an epistle that will feed men with the life of God until they receive salvation. —Chibo E.C. THE KINGDOM REWARD SYSTEM

Some have said that as long as they escape hell fire, they are fine, they do not need any reward. Some have even wrongly quoted David by saying they would rather be a doorkeeper in God’s house than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. They fail to realize that in this, the psalmist was talking about service in God’s house (Doorkeepers are servants) — service for which an eternal reward would be due. Anyone who tries to downplay the reality of service and reward in the kingdom of God does this because he does not understand the kingdom. Many of the times Jesus taught about the kingdom of God, He taught about service and reward in the kingdom (Matt 5:12, Luke 19:11-27, Matt 25:14-30, etc). Somebody once argued that seeing the kingdom of God was the same thing as inheriting the kingdom of God. I simply asked if the word ‘see’ and the word ‘inherit’ mean the same thing. On the day when we believers will stand before the Lord to give an account of our stewardship here on earth, some will receive rewards while some others will suffer loss. Some will sit with the Lord on thrones and rule the universe with Him forever, but others will not have that privilege. They will suffer loss because even though it was their destiny as sons of God to inherit the kingdom of God [as joint heirs with Christ], their work has disqualified them from their inheritance and thrones. They would be saved but would have lost their inheritance through the fire of judgment. Go into today remembering that how we spend our relatively short time here would determine how we would spend the rest of eternity. —SD Abraham Not yet saved? And the fire will test what kind of work each has done. Samuel was discouraged because even though he had a burning desire to serve God, he did not believe he had received any grace to serve God from the pulpit. He tried, but he realized that he did not have grace to serve in that way. It took him time to realize that even though he did not have a pulpit, he had a platform, and his platform was as important to God as a pulpit. Daniel (in the Bible) never had a pulpit, but he fulfilled God’s assignment for his life through a circular platform. He could do this because he understood that even though he was in the world, he was not of the world. Whatever it is you are doing as a believer, you are building something and you will give account for it before the Lord on that day. How do we build on the foundation? We build on the foundation by ministering to people according to the grace that has been given to us (see Rom 12:6-9). As believers, we have gifts that differ according to the grace that has been given to us (see Rom 12:6). The way we serve with these gifts determines what we are building with. Go into today remembering that whether you know it or not, your life is building something that will be tried on that day. Chris didn’t want to fail in ministry so he started employing methods he knew were not acceptable to the Lord, but these methods made him successful according to the standards of the world. He was no more concerned about the souls of men that the Lord sent him to but was only now concerned about his reputation and his honor. He had a dream and the Lord rebuked him and showed him how far from the plan he had wandered. He knew he had to undo many things he had done and destroy many systems he had established. But he knew that that was the only way his service was going to be acceptable before the Lord. When the focus of the minister shifts from building up people to building up an earthly empire, that minister has started building with material that will be consumed on the day of judgment. The first time I started handling construction projects as a young civil engineer, one of the things I quickly observed was that a construction project is not better than the skill of the craftsmen responsible. No matter how good an engineer is, if he has poorly skilled workers, his work will not come out very well. I also observed that among craftsmen, those who are exceptionally good are usually good in certain selected aspects of their trade where they are exceptional. For example, even though every Mason can do certain basic things like laying blocks, setting concrete, etc. There are certain masons that are particularly good at plastering walls. Even though these masons may also be good in laying blocks and foundation, they are particularly exceptional in plastering walls, and that is the service they have great demand for. I observed that workmen who found their special areas of strength and focused on it were the ones who were always busy because of high demand. Paul knew that His job in God’s building project was to lay foundations, and this he did and focused on. Remember that he previously explained to the Corinthians that he (and other ministers ministering to them were God’s workers) and they (the Corinthian brethren ministered to) were God’s building (see 1 Cor 3:9). Paul is now making it clear that there is no other foundation but Christ. That was why he said earlier that he chose to know nothing among them but Christ and Him crucified (see 1 Cor 2:2). Go into today remembering that the most important part of any building is its foundation. Anyone who does not accept the Lordship of Christ [over his life] is not saved. This is the foundation of every other thing in the kingdom.Ask the Lord to help you identify and focus on your specialty in God’s building project. —SD Abraham Prayer: ask the Lord to deliver you from distractions and help you always walk in His will. And each one must be careful how he builds. As Ebele grew in the knowledge of the Lord, he realized that he also grew in grace. He also realized that the Lord opened greater doors for him to do greater things. But because he had learned his lesson, he was careful not to get involved in things that he wasn’t sure the Lord was leading him to do. This training and carefulness kept him from many distractions that the devil sent his way to weary him. The devil does not usually distract Good people with bad and evil things. He usually distracts Good them with good and noble things, but these things are not what they have received grace to do. He does this because he knows that no matter how good your intentions are, and no matter how noble they are, if it is kingdom work, you would only be wasting your time if you start building without first receiving a pattern from the Lord. Your hard work and labor will not amount to much and would not be a great threat to the kingdom of darkness if the work you are doing was not ordained by the Lord for you to do. Paul was an apostle to the Gentiles, but it was not every gentile nation that the Lord was leading Him to. Go into today remembering that grace always flows in the direction of God’s will. When a person gives himself an assignment because of sheer passion without heavenly sanction, he would have to continue in his strength. This is why there are many fallen soldiers. —SD Abraham Prayer: ask the Lord to deliver you from distractions and help you always walk in His will. Not yet saved? ACCORDING TO THE GRACE GIVEN

1 Corinthians 3:10 (NET) According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master-builder I laid a foundation, but someone else builds on it. And each one must be careful how he builds. For several months, Ebele was almost getting frustrated in ministry because even though he got people to accept the Lord Jesus, he found that many of them were not growing at all, and because of this, many went back to the world. But as Ebele grew in ministry, he realized that the grace given to him had to do more with laying the foundation than building on the foundation. Others had been given the grace to build on the foundation and he now learned to create accommodate their ministry. He became much more effective in ministry when he stopped laboring in areas the Lord has not given him the grace. In accordance with the grace that was given him, Apostle Paul laid the foundation of God’s building work (of souls) in Corinth, and others built on it. He understood his grace and walked within its ambit. It is important for us as ministers of the gospel to know the kind of grace given to us and walk within the ambit of that grace. Many people have walked as though they were not anointed because they did not discern and walk within the ambit of the grace they received. It is like a fish struggling to run on land like a squirrel. There is somebody reading this devotional and you are saying to yourself that “as far as ministry is concerned, I am an amphibian. I can do all things in ministry”. I would love to refer you to Romans 12:3. Go into today asking the Lord to help you know and walk within the ambit of your grace. —SD Abraham Not yet saved? You are God’s field, God’s building. Apostle Paul was a tent maker (this made him a builder). He usually built for his clients and received his payment at the end of the project. This was mostly how he sustained himself and paid his bills while ministering the gospel to the pagans. He used the illustration of building to explain certain truths to the Corinthians. He likened the ministry work he was doing among them to a building project. But just like his building projects, this building was not his own but the Lord’s and he would be rewarded for his work on it. When he said we are God’s coworkers, he was referring particularly to himself and every other minister of God like Apollos who had ministered and were ministering to the Corinthians. We would see that he went ahead to explain the part of the building he was responsible for, and how others were responsible for other parts of the building. He left a sublime warning to every other person building among the Corinthians to be careful how they build because just like an earthly builder, they would be judged according to how consistent with the master plan their building turns out to be. Many people have set out to build for God without receiving a building plan. They build because others are building and cannot build properly because they are not building according to the master plan. Go into today remembering that we are co-workers for the Lord. We do not belong to ourselves, and the work does not belong to us. At the end of the day, we shall give account for our work and be rewarded accordingly. When Ebele started preaching the gospel on campus, he noticed that it was very easy for him to bring people to accept the Lord Jesus. Even the most hardened unbelievers were being convicted and repenting. Sometimes, there was the manifestation of the prophetic and the miraculous when he preached, and this made it very easy for him to bring people to see the light of the gospel. But Ebele noticed that it was not that easy for him to disciple the many people he had led to the Lord. This was a great concern to him. He noticed that one of the brothers in the fellowship had a powerful teaching anointing and was also very successful in discipling people. He started drawing close to this brother and encouraging him to help disciple the many people that had come to the Lord through his preaching. Because of this arrangement, many of those who now believed remained in the Lord and grew greatly. Many times, there has been a great harvest of souls through powerful gospel crusades and campaigns, but many of those new believers went back to the word because there was no proper follow-up and discipleship. There is the need for those who have the ministry to plant and those who have the ministry to water to begin to work as one. This is when we will take full advantage of the harvest that our Lord has paid for. The ministries in the body of Christ can be divided into two departments. There are those who plant, and there are those who water. Every Christian must be involved in one of these. Go into today remembering that everyone will be rewarded according to the work he has done. If you are not doing anything in this regard, it is time to wake up because you will give account of your stewardship before the Lord. —SD Abraham Get FREE SERMONS here☞ http://bit.ly/SERmons YBR: Psalms 69-71 (in today’s audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. CHURCH GROWTH 2 (GOD-CENTERED MINISTRY)

One of the biggest temptations set men over ministries face today is the temptation to make themselves count for everything. When this happens, God is no more at the center of the ministry but they. At this point, [from heaven’s perspective], such a ministry ceases to grow even if it is physically exploding in growth. One of the signs of this is that such a ministry would cease to make disciples of Christ, but would only succeed in cloning people after the image of the set man. People who do not know God, but know the motions and the lingo. People whose lives do not bear fruit because even though their heads are full, their hearts are empty. It is instructive that in today’s Bible verse we see that Paul said ‘neither he that planted (Paul) or he that watered (Apollos) counts for anything…’ Paul understood this truth and God remained at the center of the ministry. The error of people-centered ministry usually begins when the set man (or men) begin to think that they are responsible for the growth in the ministry. They forget that only God could have given such growth. If this mindset is not checked, the ministry would gradually shift from a Jesus centered ministry to a man-centered ministry. Go into today remembering that it is only God-centered ministries that count before God. Remeber that everyone’s work will be tested by fire and some will suffer loss on that day because they did not build according to God’s pattern(see 1 Cor 3:14-15).
