And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you” Further reading: 1 Peter 1:24 and Isaiah 40:6-9. Man ought to labor for fruits that will remain. This is because all flesh is like grass and everything that makes it attractive (its glory, beauty, and riches, etc) is transitory, like the flower of the field. See brethren, the word of God equates your wealth and possessions with the flowers and the grasses of the field. The grass shall wither and the flower which is the glory of the grass shall also fade away. But the good news for man is that every word that proceeds from the mouth of God abides forever. By the word of God, Man shall not perish but live. That is what we call eternity in man. Do you have the word which is the source of eternity? By the Word we receive eternal life. Anyone who lives by the Word shall not perish. He can never be choked by the pressures of life. Jesus came to restore eternal life to man (John 3:16). He came to restore man to a relationship with God. Do you have Jesus in your life or have you lost the life of eternity? Take it back. It’s all you’ve got. Nothing else matters. It grieves God when people live and labor for that which is not eternal. Brethren, Life eternal is the hope of our calling in Christ. Receive the true gospel of faith for this is the victory that overcomes the world. Go into today determined to spread the gospel of eternal life by your confessions and actions. The world is waiting for your manifestation. Prayer: Father, reveal eternal life to me. Let my business, career, ministry, and family be sustained by your word. -KC Ibekwe Not yet saved? ☞ http://bit.ly/beSaved2 Yearly Bible Reading:Song of Solomon 5-6 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. We request that you Kindly Share This Devotional with Your Contacts and Let’s Touch Lives Together. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also forgive others. I had a conversation with a man who was trying to prove to me that the teachings of Jesus were for those under the law and not for those who are born again. His biggest point was that Jesus taught that if we do not forgive others who have wronged us, our heavenly FATHER would not forgive us our trespasses. But the apostles taught Christians to forgive others because they have been forgiven, not so that they will be forgiven. I had to point out to him that what Jesus said was actually meant for those who are already believers because we are the only ones who can come to God as our FATHER. No one comes to the FATHER except through Christ. I showed him from the parable of the unmerciful servant (in Matt 18:21-35) that the unmerciful servant had first received forgiveness from his master before he was expected to forgive the other servant that owed him. His master did not forgive him because he forgave, but he was expected to forgive because he had been forgiven. I went on to explain to him that the only criterium for receiving the forgiveness of God is to believe in Christ Jesus and accept God’s grace which brings forgiveness because of the sacrifice of Christ. That if we consistently refuse to forgive others who wrong us, we are proving that we do not appreciate or acknowledge God’s grace in forgiving us. As we walk on the earth, we are going to need cleansing by the blood from time to time (1 John 1:7). We would not receive this cleansing and forgiveness if we refuse to forgive those who have wronged us. Remember that we have to walk in the light in order for the blood of Jesus to cleanse us. Refusing to forgive your brother (which is the root of hatred) is how not to walk in the light (see 1 John 2:9). -Pastor SD Abraham Not yet saved? ☞ http://bit.ly/beSaved2 Yearly Bible Reading:Psalms 146-148 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. We request that you Kindly Share This Devotional with Your Contacts and Let’s Touch Lives Together. Here there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all and in all. When Ada became born again and started attending a Bible believing Church, she observed that the Igbo women in the church were particularly nice to her when they found out that she was Igbo. They started inviting her to visit them in their homes. She soon realized that they had some kind of union within the church. And that was the case with most of the major languages. As she grew in her walk with the Lord, she noticed that tribalism was in her heart. She somehow knew that this was not right for her. But she did not know how dangerous it was until she read Colossians 3 and noticed that in verse 10-11, being a new man in Christ meant she was no longer to primarily identify herself according to her earthly identity. She saw that seeing herself this way was greatly limiting her spiritually. She found herself limited in her ability to fulfill her ministry because of this. She had to cry to the Lord for help and repent of this mindset. Many believers do not walk in the fullness of their inheritance in Christ because they are still racist or tribalistic. They still primarily see themselves after the flesh and not after the spirit. In the spirit, every believer in Christ Jesus is of one new race. We are all citizens of heaven. And there is neither Jew nor Gentile. No Igbo or Yoruba, no Barbarian or Scythian, no white or black. But Christ is all in all. Walking in the Spirit entails seeing yourself in the Spirit. Go into today remembering that those who only see themselves through their earthly identity will deny themselves the full benefits of their heavenly identity. Thank God because your real identity is in Christ. -Pastor SD Abraham *See How to Donate to Streamglobe Here* ☞ http://bit.ly/2xb4HR3 Yearly Bible Reading: Esther 1-5 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. We request that you Kindly Share This Devotional with Your Contacts and Let’s Touch Lives Together. By the time Apostle Paul wrote the words above, He had already been in ministry for many years and had preached to many people. He already had great revelations of the Lord Jesus Christ and had established many churches. But here we see him saying that his aim is to know the Lord Jesus. What does he really mean? Apostle Paul understood that the more a person knows the Lord, the more like the Lord that person will become. And the ultimate of this is attaining to the resurrection from the dead. This means walking in the gloried body. Apostle Paul understood that it was possible for a person to so know God that he can attain to the resurrection from the dead. And he was not talking about the resurrection that we will all experience on the day of resurrection; he was talking about attaining it in his lifetime because of his rich knowledge of God. He was talking about being so saturated with God that a person becomes transfigured before the rapture. The first thing a believer will experience in his true knowledge of the Lord is the power of His resurrection. This power is the greatest power ever known to man. It is the power that raised Jesus from the dead. All the powers of darkness couldn’t stop this power. This is the power that makes a believer a supernatural being. It empowers us to live truly holy lives, heal the sick, cast out devils, work miracles, raise the dead, etc. Go into today remembering that our destiny in growing spiritually is to become like Christ, both in character and in stature. As long as your life is not yet fully like that of Christ, you still have to grow. -Pastor SD Abraham Not yet saved? ☞ http://bit.ly/beSaved2 Yearly Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 29-31 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. We request that you Kindly Share This Devotional with Your Contacts and Let’s Touch Lives Together. But now, put off all such things as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth. There was a time in my life that I realized it was very difficult for me to forgive those who offended me. Even though I was already a believer baptized in the Holy Spirit, I didn’t realize that unforgiveneess and malice were so dangerous until I realized they were hindering my fruitfulness in God’s kingdom. The sins mentioned above are those that can be in the life of a believer and he may not take it seriously. Unlike the sins mentioned in Col 3:5, these ones do not feel as defiling as them, but we are to put them off because they are not consistent with our new divine nature. As you go into today, examine yourself under the light of God’s word. Ask the Lord to help you put off anything that is not in his nature. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience. Fola was terribly afflicted in her body and she did not understand why this kept going on. She cried to the Lord for help. One Saturday morning, Pastor Clara felt led to go pray for Fola. But before she started praying, she felt led to ask Fola certain questions. It became clear to pastor Clara that Fola was still living like an unbeliever, even though she was very committed to the church. Fola’s sinful life was the reason she was afflicted. She confessed her faults to Pastor Clara and she became healed after Pastor Clara prayed for her and anointed her with oil. (see James 5:13-16). The reason why believers must put to death whatever is in their nature that belongs to the earth is because we do not want to be partakers in the wrath of God that is coming on the sons of disobedience. Many believers suffer many things that they are not to suffer because they are still living as unbelievers. This doesn’t mean the righteous cannot be afflicted. The only difference is that the Lord will always deliver the righteous (see Psalm 34:19). Go into today determining to mortify everything in you that is not in conformity to the nature of Christ. Ask the Lord to help you to this end. -Pastor SD Abraham Not yet born again? click here☞ http://bit.ly/beSaved2 Yearly Bible Reading: Acts 23-24 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. We request that you Kindly Share This Devotional with Your Contacts and Let’s Touch Lives Together. When Stacy realized that she needed to be discipled, she found this very difficult because of her history. When she was in the occult, she knew the secret of many believers and even certain pastors, and she knew that many of them were hypocrites. This was the first reason she decided she was not going to commit herself to anyone, but would grow on own. Now that she realized that the Lord wanted her to be discipled by someone, she began to pray about it. She now remembered the pastor who was indirectly responsible for her salvation. Her reasoning was that he had to be a genuine pastor for the Lord to defend him the way He did when she tried to attack him. She decided to start attending his church. In that church she was no more anonymous, but started interacting with other believers. This was the beginning of her accelerated spiritual growth. One of the powerful advantages of discipleship and Christian fellowship is impartation. Another great advantage is accountability. It is very important for every believer to have other believers to whom he or she is accountable. Even the Apostles in the early church were accountable to one another. This means they could correct and rebuke one another (see Gal 2:11-14). Today, there are many believers who are not accountable to anyone. They cannot be corrected because they feel they have great knowledge. But this is a trap of the evil one. Go into today asking the Lord to connect you to brethren to whom you will be accountable. Ask the Lord to deliver you from the wrong company. -Pastor SD Abraham Yearly Bible Reading: Revelation 7-11 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. We request that you Kindly Share This Devotional with Your Contacts and Let’s Touch Lives Together. When a child is still a baby, he needs the help of other adults in order for him to survive, but as the child grows older and older, he will get to the point where he would now be able to take care of himself and would no longer need to depend on the help of an adult to survive. He would now be able to feed himself without being fed, etc. Very recent converts usually need the help of disciplers to grow. They usually need other mature believers to guide them in the way of the Lord so that they would abide and not fall away. But as the believer becomes more and more spiritually mature, he gets to the point where he no longer needs that nursing help of the older believer but can now continue to grow by himself. Unfortunately, this is the point where many believers stop growing. They are no more exactly spiritual babes, but they are not quite mature. This is the stage of the believer’s life when he begins to become aware of specific assignments and callings of God upon his life. It is usually the time he is expected to build capacity for ministry and spiritual fruitfulness. But many get to this point and stop growing because they feel they have already arrived. This is manifested in the way they no longer crave the word of God. They no longer read spiritual books and they wane in other things they used to do to help them grow spiritually. Go into today remembering that spiritual growth is truncated when you begin to believe that you have arrived. -Pastor SD Abraham Yearly Bible Reading: Song of Solomon 3-4 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. We request that you Kindly Share This Devotional with Your Contacts and Let’s Touch Lives Together. Stacy realized that she wasn’t growing spiritually, and this became a cause of great concern for her. She knew this before she saw that many of the things that God said would happen in the life of a believer were not yet happening in her life. As she started searching to find where the problem was, the Holy Spirit helped her to see that she could not grow to the fullness of Christ on her own without the input of other brethren. She was a spiritual lone ranger. She never read any spiritual books or listened to any sermons nor did she submit herself to be discipled by anyone. She attended a church where she was anonymous. Every baby has the potential of becoming an adult. But the child has to grow up first. When you became born again, you were born after the nature of Christ. But this will only be actualized when you are spiritually mature. Spiritual maturity makes us more and more like Christ, both in character and in stature (authority). Physically, there are many things required in order for a newborn baby to grow and become an adult; the baby needs to be cared for by other adults. That’s how spiritually; believers need to be cared for by other mature believers. And there are those specially equipped by the Lord to do this. They are Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and teachers. Ephesians 4:11-13 (NET) It was he who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God – A MATURE PERSON, attaining to the measure of CHRIST’S FULL STATURE. -Pastor SD Abraham Yearly Bible Reading: Psalms 143-145 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational We request that you Kindly Share This Devotional with Your Contacts and Let’s Touch Lives Together. When Stacy received Christ as her Lord and Savior, it was a very spectacular encounter. She used to be deeply involved in the occult and was a ranking member of a powerful cult. She had an encounter with the Lord Jesus one day she tried to cast a spell to kill a pastor. This was how she came to know the Lord. Unlike many other new believers, she had great understanding of spiritual things and she understood that her spirit was now literally born again. She was so excited about what happened to her because she knew that it required very great spiritual power to cause this miracle of spiritual new birth. All the powers of the princes of the kingdom of darkness put together would not be sufficient to produce this kind of spiritual reality in one single soul. It didn’t take her long to realize that even though she was a new man in her spirit, this new man had to be taught and trained in order for it to reach its full potential and destiny – the image of Christ. Even Jesus had to grow in favor with God (Luke 2:52). He had to learn obedience even though He was God’s son (see Heb 5:8). There is always a learning process for those who will reach spiritual maturity. Go into today knowing that your new inner man has to be trained in knowledge according to the image of Christ. You have to learn obedience as a son of God and grow in the knowledge of God. This learning comes when you engage the word of God.
