WAITING WISELY

Isaiah 58:6 – 7 (MSG) “This is the kind of fast day I’m after: to break the chains of injustice, get rid of exploitation in the workplace, free the oppressed, cancel debts. What I’m interested in seeing you do is: sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless poor into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families. A waiter, after learning that he was assigned to host an important guest, set out early that day to arrive at work on time, dressed immaculately, wearing his best smile and being at his most cheerful attitude. When the guest arrived, the waiter welcomed him warmly and promptly went about attending to his requests with excellence, to the utmost satisfaction of the guest. In the end, as the guest was departing, he called the waiter, commended him and gave him a huge tip. From the illustration above, waiting or fasting doesn’t necessarily mean a period of self-affliction, but like a true waiter, it is a strategic positioning of oneself to be attentive and sensitive to the instructions of the Most High and Special Guest, in order to give an acceptable and satisfactory service to Him, which in turn releases His blessings. Whenever we wait or fast with regards to any situation we desire to change, we shouldn’t focus on ourselves or on the fact that we are abstaining from food or other things, rather, our focus should be on Jesus, whom we are meant to please through our service to others (Matt 25:34-40). Such a period is also not one for indulging in ungodly activities, complaints, murmuring or trying to draw attention to our performance (Isa 58:3-5) but it should be one of continued worship and stewardship in all cheerfulness (Psa 34:1). Go into today, knowing that as you utilize this approach in your fasting and waiting, you are sure to experience a release of life, healing, blessings and speedy answers to your prayers (Isa 40:31, Isa 58:8-9) -Chibo E.C. THE WASHING OF THE WORD

Join Our Social Groups Telegram☞ https://t.me/joinchat/CkVpvEA9qSfx30aYEs7ivQ WhatsApp☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/7q2b6jvUYuhEHOtrAPhv4G   John 17:17 (KJV) Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.Phillip was excited to attend a reunion party organized for old students of his university. There he met old friends and even old girlfriends. You see, Phillip became born again three years after he graduated from the university. But when he was on campus, he was a very ungodly person. He had many godless friends and led a reckless immoral life. But now that he was saved, his life was transformed by the power of grace. The time he spent in that party was characterized by many unwholesome conversations that he wasn’t comfortable in. His old friends who were excited to see him started such conversations with him because they did not know that he was now born again. When he came out of that party, he felt so defiled and unclean. Dirty thoughts filled his mind and he struggled with them. When he got back home, he picked up his Bible and started reading. As he continued to read and dwell in the Word, he felt washed and refreshed. He no longer felt unclean on the inside. This was how the Lord cleansed and renewed his soul (Ps 23:3). We see in Ephesians 5:26 that the way Christ sanctifies His Church is with the washing of water by the word. This is an explanation of John 17:17 above. In John 15:3, Jesus told His disciples that ‘you are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you’. Go into today remembering that the word of God is the water of the spirit that washes and sanctifies us. Prayer: Lord, help me abide in your word always. -SD Abraham Yearly Bible Reading: Isaiah 56-61 (In Devotional Audio) Kindly share this Interdenominational Devotional with your contacts and let’s bless lives together. ☞ streamglobe.org Source: Devotional http://listen.streamglobe.org/Devotional%20Audio%201583.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 26:27 — 6.1MB)Subscribe: RSS

DO NOT WALK IN THE FLESH

Whether to walk in the Spirit or to walk in the flesh is the choice of the believer. It is God’s will that we walk in the spirit and advance in the manifestation of the divine nature and know Him ever more intimately. He has supplied the grace to do this through the indwelling Holy Spirit within the believer. But the devil wants us to walk in the flesh and become spiritually weaker and weaker until we become vulnerable to his manipulations and attacks. This would lead to spiritual death and can cause people predestined to inherit the kingdom of God to die spiritually and not inherit the kingdom of God (Rom 8:13). How do people walk in the flesh? People walk in the flesh by allowing the flesh control them and doing the works of the flesh. The Bible verses below outlines the works of the flesh. Galatians 5:19-21 (NLT): 19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Go into today remembering that believers who continue to walk in the flesh will die spiritually (see Rom 8:13, Gal 6:8). It is the devil’s will to kill you both spiritually and physically. Do not let this happen by yielding to his temptations seeking to make you continually walk in the works of the flesh. -SD Abraham AUDIO SERMONS here☞ http://bit.ly/SERmons Yearly Bible Reading: Job 21-22 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational. When she graduated and was now living on her own, she searched for a local church to become a part of. The first Church she attended was headed a prophet who was very gifted with the word of knowledge. He saw certain accurate visions about her and asked her to see him in private. After seeing him severally she was not comfortable with the way looks at her and touches her when they are in private. She later found out that he was an immoral man who had many girlfriends. Because she was very beautiful, he wanted her to be his girlfriend. Fortunately for her, she had received proper discipleship training on campus to know to run away from such a minister. I believe no one will be able to tell Jesus a lie when they appear before Him on judgment day. Those who would tell him that they performed miracles in His name would really think that because they were walking in spiritual gifts, God knows them. But it is only His sheep that He knows. His sheep are His disciples: they are those submitted to His Lordship and do His will; they love Him and obey His commandments (John 14:15, 1 John 2:3). It is those who Love Him that are known by Him (see 1 Cor 8:3). Go into today remembering that it is ‘by their fruits that you shall know them’ (Matt 7:20). The fruit of a person’s life is his character (see Gal 5:22-23). After Chide started abiding in the word of God, he observed that he was now growing in the knowledge of the Lord. He was more conscious of the Lord’s presence in his life and he could now be led by the Holy Spirit. This growth in the knowledge of God made Chide spiritually strong (Dan 11:32b). In his village, there was a very powerful wicked witch doctor that terrorized everyone. He lived close to Chide’s family house and because of him Chide was always afraid of visiting his family in the village. But since Chide started growing in his knowledge of the Lord, he noticed that he was no longer afraid of this man. He knew that the man was powerful and feared in the village because he had fellowship with demons, but Chide now had fellowship with the all-powerful God. He was bold as a lion because there was no sin and guilt in his life (Psalm 28:1). Someone in the family died and Chide had to visit them in the village. During the period Chide was in the village, he and everyone in the family noticed that the witch doctor avoided meeting Chide. Before Chide came, he used to fetch water from the tap in their family compound every day. But for the four days Chide was around, he was nowhere to be found. The witch doctor knew that Chide was now very dangerous for him because he could sense the mighty presence and glory that followed Chide everywhere. Unlike many Christians, Chide was also aware of this and basked in it. Go into today remembering that if you believe in Christ and let His word abide in you, you will grow in your knowledge of the Lord and do exploits in His name. -SD Abraham AUDIO SERMONS here☞ http://bit.ly/SERmons Yearly Bible Reading: Genesis 40-43 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational. THE KINGDOM OF GOD

John 3:3 (NET) Jesus replied, “I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” One of the privileges being born again affords a believer is the ability to see/recognize and understand the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is a real kingdom. Every kingdom has a sovereign and the subjects. Every kingdom has territory and tariff. Every kingdom has power and dominion, every kingdom has laws and law enforcement agents, and every kingdom has penalties for failure and rewards for loyalty and faithfulness to the work of the king. When a person becomes born again, he has been born with the life of God and can now inherit the kingdom of God. It is the Father’s good pleasure to give him the kingdom (Luke 12:32). The sovereign of our Kingdom is the Lord God. We are the subjects of the kingdom. The territory of the kingdom right now is heaven (the spirit realm), and parts of the earth where we the subjects of the kingdom are planted. When the Lord returns, the earth will be completely taken over by the kingdom (see Dan 7:27, Rev 11:15). The currency of our kingdom is faith. And the more we submit ourselves to God (offering our bodies as a living sacrifice), the more we walk in the authority of the kingdom (James 4:7). It is by the power and authority of the kingdom that we can cast out demons, speak with new tongues, heal the sick, raise the dead, and walk in divine health, etc. Go into today remembering that God has saved you and brought you into His glorious kingdom (Col 1:13) if you are born again. -SD Abraham Yearly Bible Reading: Genesis 40-43 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational. LIBERATION THROUGH THE WORD

Psalm 119:11 (KJV) 11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. After Chide accepted the Lord Jesus, he struggled with many of his previous bad habits and sins. when he discussed this with his discipler, his discipler would recommend prayer and fasting. Chide observed that the prayer and fasting worked in keeping his flesh at bay, but when the fasting was over, he observed that the flesh would spring back up and seek to control him. His spiritual life was like a seesaw; on fire today and down tomorrow. One day he saw his friend reading a book about the kingdom of God and he was drawn to it. He borrowed the book and started reading it. For the first time, Chide came into an understanding of God’s Truth and kingdom. From then, he was now excited to read the Bible, and even ‘the old testament’ now made sense to him. He observed that as he became a person of the Word, his prayers became much more powerful and he was now free from the bondage of sin. He received His freedom through the knwoledge of the Truth. Jesus told those who believed in Him that it is when they abide in His word that they would know the truth, and the truth will set them free(see John 8:31-34). I have come to realize that the most effective way to escape the power of sin is through abiding in God’s word. The way God sanctifies us is through His word [which is Truth] (see John 17:17). The word of God is the spiritual water that cleanses and renews the minds of those who are born again( see Eph 5:26). Go into today determined to be a person that abides in God’s word. EMBRACE THE BLESSING

Ephesians 1:3 (NLT) All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Dotun was now saved, and he was glad he had escaped the wrath that was imminent. He started learning that he didn’t only escape the wrath of God, but had come into the blessing of God through his continued faith in Christ Jesus. He wasn’t only going to escape hell, but he was now going to inherit the kingdom of God. Dotun wanted to understand what it means to inherit the kingdom of God. One of the first things he learned was that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor 15:50). He understood that when we resurrect, we would not resurrect with bodies of flesh, but with glorified spiritual bodies (1 Cor 15:43-44). These physically visible glorified bodies will reveal our true nature as sons of God. But while we are in this body of flesh, we can experience the first fruits of our kingdom life because of the indwelling Holy Spirit (see Romans 8:23). Since flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, Dotun knew that if he was walking in the flesh (Gal 5:19-21), he could not live the kingdom life of victory, glory, and power. Today, many believers are not fruitful in the kingdom life because they have not understood the kingdom of God. We can learn from the Parable of the sower (see Matt 13:3-8, 18-23) that those who received the word and were fruitful were those who received it and understood it (see Matt 13:23). Go into today remembering that you have been blessed with all spiritual blessings. Remember that those who walk in the flesh cannot walk in these blessings. -SD Abraham AUDIO SERMONS here☞ http://bit.ly/SERmons Yearly Bible Reading: Matthew 26-28 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational. ESCAPE THE WRATH

Colossians 3:6 (NKJV) Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience Dotun’s grandmother bought him a Bible as a Birthday present. Before she gave him the present, she prayed over it and asked the Lord to use it to bring him to salvation. When she gave him the Bible, she made him promise to read it. When Dotun first read the Bible, he started from the Old Testament, but stopped reading it before he got to the New Testament. He particularly liked the story of Nebuchadnezzar and the book of Daniel because as a history student he could confirm that those kingdoms and Kings really existed in history. One thing he observed from reading the Bible as an unbeliever was that the wrath of God was really scary. So several years later when someone came to preach the gospel to him and told him that by accepting the Lord Jesus he was going to escape the wrath of God, he quickly accepted Christ’s Lordship because he did not want to be part of those who would experience the wrath of God. One of the reasons the Gospel is good news is because it shows us a way of escape from the wrath that is to come. Humankind is headed for eternal condemnation. The only salvation is in the Lord Jesus. If you have not accepted the Lord Jesus, today is your day of salvation. Escape the condemnation of the world because ‘He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God’. John 3:18 (NKJV) Pray this prayer: I believe in my heart and confess that Jesus is my Lord. I will now live under His authority and do as he says. DEALING WITH ENVY 2

James 4:3 (NIV) 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. One of the things Adenike kept saying to herself was that she and Tinuke were mates, yet Tinuke has this and this, but she doesn’t. Her envy streamed from the idea that because she and Tinuke were classmates, Tinuke was not supposed to accomplish more than her in life. This ‘we are mates’ or ‘I am not his mate’ mentality is a toxic one. In the race of destiny, nobody has mates, and those who run well are not those who look at their ‘mates’ as they run. They are those who look only unto Jesus as they run (see Heb 12:2). Those who look at their ‘mates’ may end up focusing on the wrong things and running a different course from the one set out for them. This is a major reason people build unacceptably and would have their works burned up by the judgment fire of the Lord on that day (see 1 Cor 3:13-15). Remember that God says that ‘they compare themselves with themselves, are not wise’ (2 Cor 10:12). Wisdom is not looking at how far you have gone in the context of your neighbor’s accomplishments. It is looking at how far you have gone in the context of God’s assignment for you in life. You will not know and focus on God’s unique assignment for your life if you spend your time comparing yourself with others. When your prayers are based on comparing with others, they come from an impure motive. But when your prayers are based on your knowledge of where God wants you to be, they come from a pure motive, and they get God’s attention. Prayer: Lord, please deliver me from comparing myself with others. Amen. -SD Abraham AUDIO SERMONS here☞ http://bit.ly/SERmons Yearly Bible Reading: Psalms 27-29 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is Nondenominational.
