Is The Law Now Useless?

Galatians 3:23-25 (NLT) Until faith in Christ was shown to us as the way of becoming right with God, we were guarded by the law. We were kept in protective custody, so to speak, until we could put our faith in the coming Savior. Let me put it another way. The law was our guardian and teacher to lead us until Christ came. So now, through faith in Christ, we are made right with God. But now that faith in Christ has come, we no longer need the law as our guardian. When Scholar tried to correct her friend Jane, Jane responded, ” Eh! Eh! I’m no longer under the law, I’m now under grace”. Scholar had noticed that Jane’s craving for money was going out of hand, so she tried to call her notice to it, but Jane refused her warning. Jane eventually entered into a relationship with a very rich man who was a drug dealer. Although aware of this man’s source of income, Jane’s love for money blinded her eyes. She became pregnant for him and felt it was okay since money was flowing her way. The man was arrested eventually tried and found guilty for murder. His property was confiscated and he sentenced to death. Jane was left with nothing as the baby mama of a disgraced murderer. Jane returned to Scholar ashamed and full of regrets, but by the help of the Holy Spirit, she was taken through a process of recovery. Without the law, it was impossible to judge sin. It was the law that showed how sinful sin truly is. Romans 7:7 (NLT) Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is evil? Of course not! The law is not sinful, but it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, “Do not covet.” The law shows us our wretchedness and helplessness, this in turn causes us to seek help. In the Old Testament, this help came through sacrifices but in the New Testament, it has come eternally in Jesus Christ. If a man must know the true worth of Jesus’ sacrifice, he must know how lost, wretched, and helpless he is without Jesus. The law is the agency that makes this possible. It is after identifying your helplessness that you can cry out for mercy, then mercy leads you to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16) where you will meet with the one who sits on the throne, even Christ Jesus. Go into today understanding that the law will never lose its relevance as long as there is a single soul who is unsaved or as long as sin exists. Prayer: Lord Jesus, I want to enjoy your mercy and grace. Please open my eyes to behold wondrous things out of your law. Not Worthy To Be Compared

Romans 8:18 (KJV) For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. If you think about who God is and all His has, it is simply too awesome for our 1.5kg brain to fully comprehend. Yet, we are going to inherit all that belongs to God as heirs of God through Christ Jesus(Romans 8:7, Revelation 21:7). What we know is that we shall be as He is because we shall see Him face to face(1 John 3:2). We shall rule and reign with Him and even judge the angels(see 1 Corinthians 6:3). We shall inherit all things (Revelation 21:7). Even though we know that it is those who live for Christ and [are willing to] suffer for Him that would be counted worthy to reign with Him in glory, it is foolishness to think that our suffering for Him is able to earn us our eternal glory. The sufferings of this present time cannot be compared to the glory. If we suffered for Christ to the point of death in one billion lifetimes, it still wouldn’t be sufficient to earn the glory that we would receive. God is not interested in our suffering, He is interested in our faithfulness. It is just that being faithful to Him would require denial of the flesh and may incur persecution from those still controlled by the Prince of this present world who is an enemy of Christ. As you are reading this Devotional today, many of our brethren in Pakistan, parts of India, and the Middle East are experiencing great persecution because of their faith in Christ. Many in the middle east are even denied passports so that they cannot get visas to flee their countries where they are being persecuted for their faith. Even in certain parts of northern Nigeria today, believers who are qualified for promotion in public service are denied a promotion because they are believers. Qualified students are denied admission into government-owned subsidized tertiary institutions because they have Christian names. We can go on and on, but the point is this: those who would not deny the faith because of worldly pressures are proving that they are faithful in the little, and much more would be given to them (Luke 16:10-12). They would rule and reign with the Lord in the eternal kingdom that is coming to sweep away every other kingdom in this earth. Go into today asking the Lord for the grace to be faithful to Him in the face of pressures. Prayer: Dear Lord, please help to be faithful to you until the end. Please help me to not miss my eternal reward but reign with you in glory on that day. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Proverbs 8-9 (in today’s audio)  Streamglobe is Interdenominational. Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together. Being His Witness Requires Power

Acts 1:8 (KJV) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Ray could not keep silent, he spoke to all his friends and everyone around him about his new life in Christ. He used to be addicted to drugs, gambling, and sexual immorality. His family had given up on him after sending him several times to the rehab. His weaknesses and addictions were now overpowered by this new power he encountered. Ray had received Jesus into his life after attending a crusade. He went on to be baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that delivered him and moved him to speak to others about Jesus. But after some time, Ray observed that his zeal had started to wane. This got him really bordered. Wanting to know why this was happening, he chose to pray for hours in tongues consistently for many days. After continuing in this discipline for several days, he observed that his zeal was restored. He also observed that he could now manifest some spiritual gifts.   After this experience, Ray understood that it takes power to live the life of a witness unto Christ. He also now knew that one way to access this power of the Holy Ghost is by giving one’s self to lengthy and consistent prayer in the spirit(in tongues). Many believers no longer have exciting personal moments with the Lord. Their most exciting moment was at the point of receiving Christ or when they got baptized in the Holy Ghost. So after many years pass, they find that they have not been able to be effective witnesses; they now only derive their sense of fulfillment from activities. They are seen as active in Church but their lives are a contradiction of what they profess when you get closer to them. Because of this, their wives/children, friends, and associates are rebellious and are indifferent toward the Lord. If this describes you, what you need is the power of the Holy Ghost. It is by His strength that you are empowered to live a consecrated and powerful life (Philippians 2:13). If you have never been baptized in the Holy Ghost, ask for it. And if you have been baptized, ask God to fill you again (Acts 4:31). Go into today remembering that it takes power to be an effective witness unto Christ. The way to appropriate this power is by praying consistently in the spirit (tongues) (Jude 1:20). Prayer: Ask the Lord to quicken you to pray as you ought to pray. —Dr. Emmanuel James Bible in 1 Year: Psalms 78-80 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational. Servants of Christ

1 Corinthians 4:2 (NET) Now what is sought in stewards is that one be found faithful. When it became clear to Eze that he too was a servant (minister) of Christ, he became more faithful to the Lord; he was now more committed to soul-winning and discipleship, was now faithful in the way he handled his money, was now committed to the ministry of the word and prayer, and was now accountable to his brethren. Many believers are not as faithful as they can be because they do not know that they too are servants of Christ. They think it is only their pastors that are servants of Christ. But the Bible makes it clear that all believers are ministers –servants of God (see Eph 4:12, 2 Cor 5:18). While children in a household are still babies, they are unable to serve in any capacity. But as they grow up, they are able to serve and handle responsibility in the family. As they further grow, a point will come that their father will feel comfortable to let them handle the family business. God wants you to handle great power in the kingdom, but it is required that you be found faithful. One of the more popular Bible verses today is from Isaiah 54:17, it says: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,’ Says the Lord”. This promise is actually meant for the servants of the Lord and every believer should be one. But how many really serve the Lord? Go into today remembering that as a son in the household of God, you are expected to serve the Lord in faithfulness. As you meditate on ways you can become more active in serving the Lord, ask Him to empower you to this end. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: II Kings 1-5 Streamglobe is Interdenominational. Stewards of the Mysteries of God

1 Corinthians 4:1 (NKJV) Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Yinka’s Grandma lived with them in the city. She was an unbeliever and could not understand what her children and grandchildren were always going to do in church every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday. She had observed for years that they were always excited to go to church. On a given Wednesday evening, she curiously asked: “what is it that you go to do in the church and stay so long and would still be so excited to go next time?” Yinka responded: ma, we go to hear the word of God. Grandma: “Which word that[sic] has not finished for all these years? Don’t you get tired of it? Is it not the same old Bible that they read it from?” For the first time, it occurred to Yinka that her Pastors didn’t merely preach from the Bible, but were stewards of the mysteries of God. This was why they never ran out of fresh word from God that blessed the people. She invited her grandma to come to church with them. This time, she agreed to go with them just to see what made them so excited. That was the day Yinka’s grandma accepted the Lord Jesus. Every servant of Christ is a Steward of the mysteries of God. This is an awesome privilege. But just like most things in the kingdom of God, he must walk in this reality by faith, and this faith is activated by knowledge. He must know that as a servant of Christ, he is a steward of the mysteries of God. Go into today remembering that through the church, the manifold wisdom of God is made known to the rulers and authorities in the spirit realm (Eph 3:10). This is because we have access to the mysteries of God. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Get FREE SERMONS in our website Bible in 1 Year: Leviticus 10-12 Streamglobe is Interdenominational. Remember Where You Came From

Ephesians 2:11-13 (NET) Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh – who are called “uncircumcision” by the so-called “circumcision” that is performed on the body by human hands – that you were at that time without the Messiah, alienated from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who used to be far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. “Romans 11:20-21 (KJV) Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.”   Ugo got into the university through the scholarship of a good politician in her village. She didn’t attend the kind of good secondary schools that her roommates and classmates attended, and she wasn’t from affluent homes like them. Because she was wise, she never forgot where she was coming from (a poor and impoverished family in a poor village). She knew she had to be extra serious because she couldn’t afford to fail. Unlike her roommates who lived riotously and sometimes got arrested and bailed out immediately by their influential parents, Ugo knew she couldn’t afford that. Because Ugo never forgot where she was coming from and this made her extra serious, even though she had a weaker academic background, she performed more excellently that all her mates. She became a star in that school and got a very good job because of that. Today’s scripture is quite instructive to the believer who does not have a Jewish heritage. You see, there is a reason the Lord Jesus could only come through a very specific bloodline, and that reason is not a joke. But what He came to do for mankind trumps every ordinance or system before he came. He came so that in Him, even Gentiles like me can have hope of citizenship in God’s kingdom. As we rejoice in our new heritage in Christ, let us not forget where we are coming from. Let’s not forget that we(our generation and bloodlines), were legally under slavery to very wicked dark powers of the world, and if we stop abiding in Christ, they would hastily seek to bring us back into their bondage and affliction. Anyone who is in Christ is not inferior to any of God’s creation in all of eternity. We have this privilege because of the sacrifice of Christ. Shouldn’t he who has been forgiven much love much more? Go into today asking the Lord to deliver you from the foolishness of forgetfulness. “Lord, help me abide in you and be fruitful in every good work. Help me grow daily in the knowledge of God.” —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Philippians 3-4 Streamglobe is Nondenominational. Do Not Give Up

Luke 18:4-5 (KJV) And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5. yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. The widow in today’s passage had no help except the wicked judge who neither feared man nor God. Trying to ask a man such as this for help is almost a waste of time, but she asked anyway and kept asking until her help came. This is the word of the Lord for someone reading today: “ask one more time, do not give up”. “Keep on asking and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking and you will find. Keep on knocking and the door will be opened” Matthew 7:7 (NLT). If a wicked judge will give justice to a poor widow; God who is gracious and Just will certainly give what you ask for if you keep on asking. “If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him” Matthew 7:11 (NLT). Continue to ask, do not give up on yourself; God has not given up on you. Go into today encouraged, strengthened and full of hope; don’t stop asking until your joy is full. God will answer you if you will not give up now. —Dr. Emmanuel James Bible in 1 Year: Luke 15-16 (in today’s audio)   Streamglobe is interdenominational. Commit Your Works to the Lord

Proverbs 16:1, 3 (KJV) The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord. Commit thy works unto the Lord and thy thoughts shall be established. Bola and Jennet were friends from their childhood; they grew up and did almost everything together. They had similar dreams and visions since they grew up together, but it was observed that Jennet achieved much more success. When Bola asked Jannet for the secret of her great success, she found out that Jennet was much more committed and dependent on the Lord. Janet would always tell her plans to God first and do only what God leads her to do. For instance, she once turned down a high paying job because she was not led to take it. It is good to have good plans and even confess them. But the establishment of such plans and confessions are only guaranteed when we commit them to the Lord. When we commit our plans to the Lord, He usually responds by giving us counsel. When we seek and follow God’s counsel, we will labor less and achieve more because God himself would watch over our work. (See Jeremiah 1:12). Go into today committing every single plan you have to God; ask His counsel and make up your mind to follow His leading. May grace for obedience be supplied to you in Jesus’ name. All Things Belong to You

1 Corinthians 3:21-23 (NET) So then, no more boasting about mere mortals! For everything belongs to you, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future. Everything belongs to you, and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God. When Apostle Paul wrote 1 Corinthians, the church in Corinth was divided. Some said Paul was their apostle, others said Apollos was their apostle, and some others said Cephas was their apostle. Because of this, there were divisions among them. Paul made it clear to them that these divisions were simply a sign of spiritual immaturity (see 1 Cor 3:3-4). Today, there are many denominations in the global Church, and each having their teachers, apostles, etc. There is nothing wrong with denominations as long as the people realize that the church is one, and all things, including ministers of God outside their denomination, belong to them. God never planned for his saints to receive from only one kind of ministry gift (see Eph 4:11-12), but that is exactly what happens to believers who continually limit themselves to one minister of God. Such believers would not grow to their full capacity because they lack “spiritual balanced diet”. If a minister is going to be truthful and humble, at certain points he would have to admit that there are certain kinds of graces that he has not been given. Even the great apostle Paul knew that he didn’t have grace for apostleship to the Jews–that was Peter’s department (see Gal 2:8, Rom 11:13). Churches established by Paul received from the ministry of Peter, John, James, and even Jude. That was the culture of the church. Go into today remembering that all true ministers of God belong to you and you should be blessed by their unique grace if you belong to Christ. Do not limit yourself by being closed-hearted. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Proverbs 7 (in today’s audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. You Belong to Christ

After experiencing the dark side of life for many years, Lamide was now humbled and open to accept the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Someone preached to her and she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Because Lamide understood what it meant to accept Christ as her Lord, she left the house of her boyfriend and rented her own apartment. She repented of all her old foolish ways and became consecrated to the Lord. As she grew spiritually, she understood that because Christ was now her Lord, all things that belong to Christ are under her authority. When she prayed, she prayed with this mindset, and she saw the results of her prayers. The evil spell of her enemy was destroyed and she was now free to walk in her glorious destiny. Many times, believers are not powerful because they do not realize that they belong to Christ and all things are under their control because of the authority of Christ they have through submission to Him. Even the devil (the prince of this world) flees when believers who submit to the authority of Christ resist him (see James 4:7). A believer who lives in disobedience to Christ cannot command Christ’s authority because he is not submitted to that authority. Go into today remembering that you belong to Christ and because of this, all things [that belong to Christ] belong to you. Ask the Lord to teach you to walk in this reality. —Pastor Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Psalms 75-77 (in today’s audio) Download Sermons Here: www.streamglobe.org/34 Join our Telegram Group:  http://streamglobe.org/join   Join Our WhatsApp Group to Start Getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio From us early every day.
