Christ Dwells In You

Ephesians 3:17 (NET) that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith… Lisa and Samuel were members of the same family. They both believed in the Lord Jesus on the same day, but Lisa wasn’t growing as rapidly as Samuel. In a few weeks, Samuel was already talking about hearing from the Lord, and as events unfolded, it was clear that Samuel truly hears from the Lord. When Lisa could not take it anymore she started asking questions as to why Samuel grew so fast in his knowledge of God and not her. One thing became immediately clear through her inquiry: Samuel was told by his discipler that Christ now dwells in him, and he believed it. Because of his faith, that became his experience. Lisa on the other hand was not told any such thing by her discipler. She was made to believe that Christ would dwell in her after she meets certain requirements. From today’s Bible verse, we see that Christ dwells in our hearts by faith. In order to experience the reality of Christ dwelling in your heart, you need to first believe it [be convinced about it and have corresponding expectations]. Because you have accepted Christ as your Lord, you are entitled to His indwelling presence. But in order for this to happen, you have to believe it first. Believe that because Christ is now your Lord and Master, he now dwells within you. This is not because of what you can do, it is fully sponsored by His grace. Go into today remembering that Christ wants to dwell in you more than you want Him to. The missing link is usually faith. It is necessary for you to believe and be convinced that Chris dwells in you before you can experience the reality of His indwelling presence. Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me believe and always remember that Christ dwells in me. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in One Year: Mark 7-8 (In Devotional Audio)Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. Sowing Wisely 2

Galatians 6:6-8 (NET) Now the one who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with the one who teaches it.Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows, because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. The first time Linda gave to the man of God through whom she had learned the way of the kingdom, she had an expectation to be blessed because she sowed into his ministry, but that expectation was not the reason she gave. She gave because she wanted to honor him and help with the work he was doing, and she got a bountiful harvest of rewards from the Lord. But after the bountiful harvest she received as a result of sowing into His life the first time, the second time Linda gave, the only reason she was giving was that she wanted to get something in return. That was why she got nothing from the LORD.   Many believers sow in the right field but not with the right motive, and because of this, they reap nothing. Giving to God only because you want something in return is not the way to sow to the spirit. Search the scriptures, and you will see that all who received a bountiful harvest because of their giving didn’t do so primarily because of the returns. They gave either because of honor, because they wanted to meet a need, or because of love for God’s kingdom. These were the people who were rewarded for their giving. Go into today remembering that the right field to share all good things are with the ones who teach you the word. Prayer: Ask God to purify your motives when giving so that you would not sow to the flesh and reap nothing. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in One Year: Jeremiah 7-11 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. Neither Hot Nor Cold 2

Revelation 3:15-16 (NET)15 ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot! 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth! Inside one of the unmarked gifts Uche and Remi received at their wedding ceremony, they saw a note tied to a charm, and the note said that they were never going to prosper or have children because they have been cursed. When Remi showed the note to Uche, they both laughed and decided that the person who wrote the note must come to them to apologize. They agreed in prayer and commanded the fierce judgment of God upon the person who wrote the note. Uche and Remi had a surprise visit from Uche’s great aunt. She came to beg them to forgive her because she had been terribly afflicted for weeks. She said she was the one who tried to place a curse on them because Uche refused to marry the girl she chose for him from their village, but disgraced her and married an outsider. Unfortunately, years after their wedding, Uche and Remi were now spiritually lukewarm because of the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches. They could no longer command the great spiritual authority they once had and were now fearful people. They didn’t know this until their child was spiritually attacked and they could not help her. Go into today remembering that becoming lukewarm is one of the worst things that can happen to a Christian. It takes away the power but leaves the form. Samson did not know he had lost the power until he tried to use it in vain (see Judges 16:20). So it is when a Christian becomes lukewarm. Prayer: Lord, deliver me from every care that seeks to make me lukewarm. Amen. —Abraham Dami Arigi Yearly Bible Plan: Job 27-28 Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. Neither hot nor cold

Revelation 3:15-16 (NET) ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot! 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth! When Remi and Uche got married, they were both born again and filled with the Holy Spirit. They both wanted to live their lives to please God and to be His light in their generation. But as times passed, they seemed to be sucked into the system of the world. They started trying to ‘keep up with the Joneses’ and became more and more worldly. They became lukewarm and no more fervent in their love for the Lord. They had now lost the deep-seated joy of the Holy Spirit in their hearts and unconsciously tried to replace this joy with the temporary happiness that comes with acquiring worldly possessions. Notice that when a person becomes lukewarm, it is because he was once hot. How a person stays lukewarm for so long is a mystery. The normal way things should be is that when a person is no more spiritually hot, he becomes lukewarm and then becomes cold, but there are many Christians today who have stayed lukewarm for a long time. This is because they haven’t quite disconnected from the fire of the Holy Spirit, but they are no more fully given to God’s will and kingdom. They now live for the kingdom of God, and for the world. Go into today remembering that a lukewarm Christian is not a fruitful Christian. A lukewarm Christian is a liability to the kingdom of God because even though he is supposed to be a witness for Christ, God cannot count on him because his loyalty is now divided. Prayer: Lord, rekindle your fire in my heart today. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Bible Plan: Psalms 39-41 Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. Sowing Wisely

Galatians 6:6-7 (NET) Now the one who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with the one who teaches it. Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows Linda observed that there was a season in her life when she walked in great financial open doors she never expected. When she started inquiring of the Lord about the reason for the unusual open doors she experienced that season, the Lord showed her that it was because she shared her money with a pastor from whom she had learned so much. During that season of her life, she was sowing correctly and reaping a bountiful harvest. Many believers wonder where the most fruitful field for them to give their finances may be. The answer to this important question is found in today’s Bible verses. Believers are expected to share their material things with those who instruct them with the word of God. See the way the Lord presents this truth to us through Apostle Paul here: 1 Corinthians 9:11 (NET) If we sowed spiritual blessings among you, is it too much to reap material things from you? Many Christians give their money to ‘pastors and prophets’ who use cunning craftiness and deceitful gimmicks to extract money from them. They do not realize that those who fall for such fall because they are spiritual babies (see 1 Cor 3:1)–carnal believers who can be tossed to and fro by the cunning craftiness of men who deceive (see Ephesians 4:14) because their motive for giving is greed, which these cunning men can exploit. Go into today knowing that the way to identify spiritually fruitful fields to sow your finances for kingdom advancement is by identifying where you are truly being fed with the word of God unto spiritual growth. Inside Out

Luke 10:27 (KJV) And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself Amanda was in love. It was quite obvious to everyone around her. There were long calls on hushed tones inundated with intermittent delightful giggles, the many weekend trips, and the love-emoji-laden chat always executed with a wide smile garnished with pink blushes. Amanda was in love. In due course, Amanda informed her youth pastor of her relationship with Kelvin, and the following conversation ensued. Youth Pastor: So, Amanda, tell me about Kelvin. Amanda: Oh Pastor Joe, Kelvin is such a sweet soul. He is caring, treats me with respect, is so in tune with my needs, loves and supports my dreams. He is just the loveliest person I have ever met. Youth Pastor: Oh, that’s nice. Anything else? Amanda: Yeah. We hail from the same locality; he works in a tech company as a software developer and we hope to tie the knot soonest. Yeah, that’s about it. Youth Pastor: Well, you omitted the part about his faith and why you think he is God’s will for you. Amanda: Yeah, about that, he is erm, a Christian. He might not look like it, but he loves the Lord and has a good heart. Afterall, it is what is inside that matters right? You must have heard it said before that God looks at the heart, and certain persons person have taken it a notch higher to add that ‘it is what is in the heart that matters’, and by that they usually make an appeal that evaluations should not be made based on what is visible and obvious but rather it should be based on the claims of what is in the heart. If today’s text is anything to go by, (and it is), then we must know that love for God is not only restricted to the heart. It flows from the inside out. Recognize that this love must be in the heart, possess the soul, manifest in actions (with all your strength), and occupy and transform the mind. A person who thinks like the world does, does not love the Lord as he ought, or does not love Him at all. A supposed lover of God who spends his strength in the course of his own satisfaction and gratification is one whose love is suspect at best, or maybe he’s just a lover of himself (See 2 Tim 3:2). All four aspects must be present in increasing measures. The love will flow from the heart, possess the soul, manifest in actions and occupy/transform the mind. If you love the Lord in your heart, you will act like it, your will and emotions will line up with it, and your worldview will be shaped by it; it will flow from inside out. Go into today allowing the love of God to flow unhindered from the inside out. —Ikechukwu Mpama Bible In 1 year: Exodus 1-4 (In Today’s Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. The Nature of Faith

James 1:3-4 (NKJV) …Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. For seven years, Funke had prayed and trusted God to give her the fruit of the womb. But she was still expecting a miracle to happen. By this time, some of her ‘friends’ and family members were suggesting that she was not taking matters seriously enough. They told her about one ‘baba’ who solved several women’s problems. But Funke insisted that she was going to wait for the Lord and not turn to another god. (This ‘Baba’ was a sorcerer). Many times, it occurred to Funke that she was going to die childless, but she kept on encouraging herself in the Lord. The Lord kept showing her signs and tokens to remind her that He was with her. After being married for thirteen years, she and her husband welcomed their first child into this world. At the point she conceived, she was no more expecting to conceive because she had already reached menopause and had concluded that “even if He slay me, I will still trust Him”. This was the threshold of faith that produced the miracle she had been praying for. She didn’t quickly notice that all the time of waiting on the Lord and remaining steadfast had worked for her an eternal weight of glory. Even though she didn’t have biological children, she had many children in the Lord and had discipled tens of girls, many of whom she brought out of the streets. Something about faith that we cannot afford to forget is that faith and patience usually work together. One of the biggest signs of true faith in the heart of a believer is the willingness to be patient. It is during the period of patience that our faith is being purified and made strong. Go into today remembering that true faith is willing to wait on God and not turn to compromises. Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you walk steadfastly in faith all the days of your life. -Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in One Year: I Corinthians 11-12 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. The Bill’s On Me

Luke 10:35 (MSG) In the morning he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take good care of him. If it costs any more, put it on my bill – I’ll pay you on my way back’ Josh had really had it with Ken. He was tired of always bailing him from circumstances that were clearly due to Ken’s own doing. He was tired of having to share his lunch with him because he was careless with his and it got spilled, he was tired of having to come to his aid just because he had been conned out of his allowance, again. He was tired of having to spend extra hours trying to get him ready for his exams just because he had been so unserious and is behind in his studies. He took it up with his mum: Josh: Mom, I know Ken’s my younger brother, but is that why I have to always bear the brunt of his shortcomings and all? You make me pick after him, share my portion with him, help him out even when he clearly got himself into the mess in the first place? Mom: Josh, what I’m doing is teaching you how to love while I’m at the same time training your brother to grow into maturity. And you know maturity takes time and effort. Josh: How is it love if only one party is the beneficiary? Mum: Well, love involves a lot of sacrifices. Love pays the bill for a service it might never receive. In Luke 10, Jesus taught love as the law of God, he went ahead to illustrate it with the famous story of the Good Samaritan. One thing we see there is that the Samaritan, in his display of love, put the bills for the nursing of the man back to health, on his tab; he was going to pay the price and bear the cost of the man’s recovery. That is a most profound illustration of love. It is not an easy concept to teach and propound in these times where even relationship has been reduced to transactions, and where everyone who gives something must expect something of equal value or even more in return. But God’s kind of love teaches that we should do good and expect no repayment of our kindness from the recipient. It teaches us to be willing to pay in the hard currency of patience when dealing with a loved one as they still wander about in the wilderness of immaturity on their way to growth. Love is patient, love is kind, love bears all things, love does not fail (See 1 Corinthians 13:1-13). Can God count on you to pay the price of love in the currency of patience so another can get allowance to grow into maturity? Go into today asking the Lord for strength to love like He wants you to love. —Ikechukwu Mpama Bible In 1 year: Mark 5-6 (In Today’s Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. Love God

1 Corinthians 8:2-3 (NET) If someone thinks he knows something, he does not yet know to the degree that he needs to know. But if someone loves God, he is known by God. Recently, while on evangelism with some of my brothers, we met a young boy who told us he had believed in the Lord Jesus but didn’t see the need to be baptized. He was so sure that baptism (all baptisms) was not necessary because, according to him, if a person believes and lives right, that person is fine. I could see how my brother (who was the one speaking to him) tried not to be irritated by this boy’s blatant ignorance smeared with a tinge of pride. Indeed, the biggest hindrance to the fruitful knowledge of God is partial knowledge [that produces pride]. Proper spiritual knowledge and understanding will produce love. If you study the teachings of the Lord Jesus, it wouldn’t take long for you to notice that the Lord was quite direct and clear about what it takes to inherit the kingdom of heaven. In one of such teachings, the Lord reveals that many who think they are saved would find out that they were never really known by Him because they were workers of iniquity. Read Matthew 7:21-23. How is it possible that someone would say Jesus is Lord (Matthew 7:21), and even perform miracles in His name, but would be told by God that “I never knew you”? What then is it that a person can have that will make him known to God? I believe 1 Corinthians 8:3 reveals to us the answer: It is those that love God that are known by Him. After believing in the Lord Jesus, we are expected to grow into loving God. One of the most important questions your life will answer is “did you love God?” Remember that the first commandment of the Lord is that we love Him. Fruitful obedience (indicative of transformation) is born out of love. Go into today remembering that what our experience here on earth should build into our hearts is love for God. That will be the basis for our evaluation. Remember that it is when you love God that all things begin to work together for your good(Romans 8:28). 1 Corinthians 2:9 (KJV) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. —Abraham Dami Arigi Bible In 1 year: Jeremiah 1-6 (In Today’s Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. God’s Man and His Emotions

John 11:35-36 (ISV) Jesus burst into tears. So the Jewish leaders said, “See how much he loved him!” Did you ever get those mental images of a spiritual man painted and shaped over time by certain books and movies? The one in which the spiritual man is always stoic, walks in a deliberate measured step, could literally never hurt a fly even if he steps on it, maintains an even mien even in the face of news of great joy or sorrow, whose face never betrays any emotions. His general appearance makes one believe that frowns are godly and smiles carnal and frivolous. Leaving an impression that emotions and such things are worldly and not for the godly man. Well, God created emotions, He designed sexual pleasure and gave us free will. These things have never been the problem but their use and abuse. Emotions are tools for expressing our feelings, and they are not evil and of the devil. Jesus is our perfect example, in his life here on earth, he was for us an example of God’s ideal man. Jesus went to a house of mourning of his friend Lazarus and burst into tears (See John 11:35), this didn’t diminish in any way his spirituality. One thing we must pay attention to is the right usage of our emotions. Emotions were never designed by God to lead us; they are supposed to follow. A believer must be led by God through his Word and the Holy Spirit (See Psalms 119:33, Romans 8:14). So, it is okay for a believer to feel pain and cry, a lover of Jesus is allowed to be in love with a Sister, a spiritual brother can laugh and generally display emotions of displeasure or delight just like anybody else, however, there are areas where the defining lines become very prominent. The believer trains his heart (soul) to delight in only the things that are wholesome. There are jokes that one can find funny, but because they are unwholesome, the believer must train his emotion to react in accordance with God’s laws and precepts. For example, jokes that trivialize and treat as common things that God has called sacred cannot be joke material for a believer, he will rather frown upon them, or simply be unmoved by them. Even when we sorrow, the Bible teaches that we do not sorrow as though we have no hope. Again, the believer must train himself to always act in line with the word EVEN in the midst of strong emotions. What do you do when you are hurt, pained, heartbroken, excited, delighted, or full of joy? Some persons hurt others when they are hurt because that is the natural reaction of our emotions. But not so for the believer. He can be hurt but must not hurt others as a result, because he does not repay evil for evil (See Romans 12:14). He does not propose just because he is ‘smitten by love’, nor does he make promises merely as a result of great excitement. Rather, his actions are well thought out and guided by godly counsels, the word, and prayers. Go into today allowing the Spirit of God to transform you by the word and to release you into all the fullness of God. —Ikechukwu Mpama Bible In 1 year: Job 25-26 (In Today’s Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational.
