Bidemi knew that her stepmother hated her, and before she became born again, she too hated her step mother. As Bidemi grew in her walk with the Lord, one day she noticed that the hatred and bitterness she had towards her step mother was no longer there. She now found it easy to pray for her. She prayed that the Lord would save her and make her his child. Bidemi could not believe that she no longer hated her step mother but now only felt pity for her. After this breakthrough in her life, Bidemi observed that her doors started opening on every side. The young man who loved her but was too poor to marry her now got a very good job and was immediately ready to marry her. Bidemi’s doors opened when her spirit started radiating the superior power of love. The power released in the life of a believer that walks in love is greater than the power released in the life of a believer who only knows faith without practical love. Notice that 1 John 4:7 says that ‘anyone that loves is born of God and KNOWS GOD’. Knowing God is a function of spiritual maturity. One of the attributes of baby Christians is that they do not walk in love (see 1 Cor 3:1-3). But as they grow in the knowledge of God, they would naturally grow in love. Go into today remembering that that the ability to love without expecting anything in return, and to love even your enemies, can only be found in the life of those who are born of God and know God. The presence of this love in your heart is your biggest proof that you have indeed been fathered by God (See 1 John 3:18-19). -Pastor SD Abraham Yearly Bible Plan: Psalms 131-133 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. Bidemi grew up with a feeling of worthlessness and insecurity because she was an illegitimate child, and her stepmother made sure she understood that. Because of this, she would react harshly to situations and would be very rude and difficult to communicate with. She always felt like she was in a deep dark pit, and could amount to nothing in life. But this all changed when accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. For the first time in her life, she knew she was accepted. She no longer felt like her life was a mistake, she knew God had a purpose for creating her, and she was happy to be alive. One thing we must never forget as believers is that God accepted us before we accepted Him, that is why we could accept him. Your salvation was not your own idea; it was God’s idea before you were born. This knowledge will help you rest in God’s love. It is very important that believers are grounded in the love of God. Many times, before the devil can get a believer to fall, he will first get him to doubt the love that God has for him. This he does because he knows the power the knowledge of God’s love produces in the life of the believer. Ephesians 3:19 (NLT) May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Go into today remembering that you are beloved of God. You are accepted in His beloved family. -Pastor SD Abraham Yearly Bible Plan: I Peter 4-5 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. When you love someone and are married to that person, you build a home with that person. A home is not necessarily a house, so it is made and not just bought. You would agree with me that a person or even a house can be described as being homely. A home is the product of a union, decorated with fruits as a proof of that union. Our union with Christ is sure to produce and bear much fruit (John 15:4-8, Galatians 5:22-26). Therefore, certain things we classify as home breakers should be removed or crucified. They include the Flesh with its affections and lusts. Sexual immorality, lust, and the likes are leading and major ways behind broken relationships. So it is with our relationship with God. If we give in to our lusts, we bear the risk of sabotaging our fruitfulness. In Job 31:1-12, we see the consequence of this likened to a fire that burns to destruction, capable of uprooting our harvest or fruits of labor in God. Go into today remembering that we are married to Jesus and must refrain from prostituting ourselves to sin. Ask the Lord to help you to always abide in Him. -Chibo E.C Yearly Bible Plan: Deuteronomy 13-15 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. What does it mean to belong to Christ? When you became born again, you needed to accept that Jesus is Lord. What this meant is that you accepted the Lordship of Christ over your life. It meant you now brought yourself under the authority and government of Christ, and you now belong to Him because He is now your Lord. Lord also means owner. It is only those who have accepted Christ’s Lordship that will experience His power of salvation. Those who have not yet accepted His Lordship cannot receive His salvation. One of the signs that a person has accepted the Lordship of Christ is that they repent and stop doing the things that they know their Lord does not want. Repentance is always proof that a person has truly believed and received the Lordship of Christ. We enter into God’s salvation and kingdom by faith, but this faith has to be living and not dead faith. Any faith that does not produce works (obedience to the kingdom of Christ) is dead faith (See James 2:14-20). When you believe that Jesus is Lord, it means you accept His Lordship over your life. This acceptance will regulate your life according to His word. It will make you crucify the flesh with its passions and desires. The Holy Spirit empowers you to do this. Only those who live the crucified life experience the reality of His Lordship. They are the ones who truly reap the benefits of belonging to Christ. Go into today remembering that believing in the Lord Jesus means bringing your life under His lordship and authority, it means you receiving Him. When this happens, you will walk in the power of a son of God (see John 1:12). -Pastor SD Abraham Yearly Bible Plan: I Peter 4-5 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. A successful and great way of showing you have deep love for someone you are married to is by respecting and taking their word very seriously (1 John 2:5 KJV). The word “Keepeth” has a deep meaning. It is used in context of hiding something valuable for safekeeping (Psalm 119:11). What you treasure is what you keep. The heart therefore is the safebox where our treasures are kept (Matthew 6:21) and we know that the Rhema Word of God (Proverbs 8:11, 1 Peter 2:6-7) and of His Kingdom are treasures (Matthew 12:35). Treasures are such that you tend to think about them all the time. You feel threatened if an intruder comes near it and so you monitor movements around the area where the safe is (Proverbs 4:23) because it can be stolen if not properly guarded. Yes, it means we have the responsibility of monitoring and instantly dealing with any suspicious movements around our safe (filtering thoughts we allow to take root in our hearts). Like doors to a safebox, there should be a check. Therefore as password is to safebox access, so is the written Word (Logos) access to the hidden treasures/revelation of God’s love through His Word. This password itself is important as it can also be stolen (Mark 4:4 & 15) and when one’s password to his safebox is stolen, it spells problem. A wise man will do well to memorize his password, do password encryption (praying in the Holy Ghost. see 1 Corinthians 14:2) and also do periodic resets (by studying the word daily) so that at every point in time he can access his safebox and bring forth good things (Matthew 12:35). -Chibo E.C Yearly Bible Plan: Acts 13-14 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. Chijoke had a strange dream more than once, and he became really disturbed. In the dream, an old woman with a walking stick was holding him captive in a farm as a slave, and he would work there for hours. Each time he tried to break free, the old woman so overpowered him that he would faint and wake up with a headache. He couldn’t understand why he would be having this kind of experience because he was quite committed to the church. He requested to see his pastor. When the pastor saw him, the spirit of prophecy came upon him and he began to tell Chijoke that his real bondage was bondage to sin. Chijoke had two girlfriends and was living like an unbeliever. ‘You are ready and willing to do whatever it takes to be free from this bondage of the old woman, but you have not taken any step to seek the face of God and receive freedom from the more dangerous bondage of sin which made it possible for you to be under this bondage in the first place. You have been made free in Christ, but you need to enter this freedom by violence. Stop being a slave to sin’. People are willing to pray and fast and go for night vigils to receive freedom from perceived demonic bondages, but they do not put that level of violence in entering their freedom from sin. When a person seeks the kingdom of God, he also would seek His righteousness. This means he would fight everything of unrighteousness that is found in his or her life. Like the Psalmist in Psalm 139:23, he would subject himself regularly to heart check. He would purify his ways (see 1 John 3:3). And he would be violent against sin. -SD Abraham Yearly Bible Plan: Haggai (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. LIVING WORKS
Do not allow the abuse of works by legalists to make you prevaricate concerning the question of salvation and works. Is eternal salvation obtained by works? NO! Is eternal salvation maintained by works? YES! Hmmm..if you did not get it by works how can you maintain it by works? Brother, can you tell me the difference between evil works, dead works, and good works? 2 Peter 1:10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; (Amplified Bible) Because of this, brethren, be all the more solicitous and eager to make sure (to ratify, to strengthen, to make steadfast) your calling and election; for if you do this, you will never stumble or fall. Read verse 3 and see that God has given us all things, and then says ADD them to your faith. What you are adding, is it from you or from God? Is it your works or His works? Read Philippians 2 and see that God has worked everything in, and said work it out. “Sir, it is work out, not work for!” “Sir, with all due ‘wordspect’. Please, shut up!” The question is this: “Is salvation maintained by works? When you are maintaining something, are you working for it? If I give you a house, and say occupy till I come, maintain it for me Are you working to get the house?” “No Sir, but but but…” “See your head! But what? If I give you a house and say maintain it, and you maintain it like a house, then I won’t take it from you; but if you turn it into a brothel, and I warn you several times, but you don’t listen, I will shake you out of my house. Now listen, don’t let people say many things together that are unrelated just to deceive you. Okay?” Do you work for salvation. No. Do you work out salvation? Yes. Do dead works or works of the law maintain salvation? No Does salvation COME WITH ITS OWN WORKS? YES, IT DOES. Do you maintain salvation by keeping laws? No Do you maintain salvation by working out everything God has already given you? Yes. Is it your maintenance that guarantees your salvation. No. Is it your maintenance that proves your salvation is guaranteed? Yes! 2 Peter 1:10 (New Living Translation) So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Doing this, you will never stumble or fall away. If you are not working anything out, Day in, day out You do not believe in your heart You only believe with your mouth That is not living faith That is dead doubt. If you believe the lie that works have nothing to do with salvation, you won’t walk in the Spirit, you keep walking in the flesh, you resist the Holy Spirit, you don’t mortify the evil deeds of the body What will happen to you? Romans 8:12 So then, brothers and sisters, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh– Romans 8:13a For if you live according to the flesh, YOU WILL DIE. The serpent says “You will not surely die” He is still speaking the same lie through false teachers, even to the church (see 2 Corinthians 11:3) Brother, the Bible says “you will die”. Amplified says, you will surely die. NLT says, you will perish. See that word “debtors” in the 12th verse? Hey you, Mr. Anti-maintenance, I’m talking to you. Do you see that word “debtors”? “Yes, I do” It means obligation, or duty. We have an OBLIGATION to live right and work that which is good. It is something that has to be done. It is not optional It is not a question of if or maybe or probably It is an obligation It is living by the power of the Spirit It is work(s) And if you walk in the Spirit, and mortify the carnal tendencies of the body, walk in love and obey the gospel, what will happen to you? Romans 8:13b But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, YOU WILL LIVE. 1. Finished Works of Christ 2. Current ministry of the Holy Spirit. 1. We have been delivered from darkness 2. We cast off the works of darkness 1. We have been made light 2. We put on the armor of light and walk in the light 1. We are in the Spirit 2. We choose to walk in the Spirit 1. We are not in the flesh 2. We choose to not walk after the flesh 1. The old man has been crucified with Christ 2. We mortify its members and evil deeds 1. The old man is crucified with Christ 2. We put off the old man 1. We have been recreated in Christ 2. We put on the new man 1. We have been made the righteousness of God in Christ 2. We live righteously 1. We have been sanctified and made holy 2. We pursue holiness 1. We have been forgiven 2. We repent and confess our sins 1. The Spirit of God lives in us 2. We follow the leading of the Spirit 1. The blood of Christ cleanses us 2. We cleanse ourselves from every filth 1. The Father is pleased with us 2. We live to please the Father 1. God so loved us 2. We love God 1. God is reconciling the world to Himself 2. We love men; we persuade them; we warn them. 1. God is working salvation in us. 2. We are working out that salvation. 1. Objective: accomplished for us in Christ without our active participation 2. Subjective: being accomplished in us right now through our active participation. You say salvation has nothing to do with works. O boy, I say it has. You say salvation is not maintained
