True Spiritual Enlightenment 2

Get Audio Version Here: bit.ly/aud1846 1 Corinthians 12:1 (YLT) And concerning the spiritual things, brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant Ikenna wanted to walk in the supernatural ‘glory realm’. He was told that the way to go about this was by continuing in dry fasting until he sees angels ascending and descending. He continued in dry fasting for days without end, until he started seeing ‘visions’, but his mind was now unbalanced and people close to him were really disturbed by this because he was gradually losing his mind. Ikenna got into the mess he found himself because of ignorance concerning spiritual things. In his quest to seek the supernatural power of God, he was not guided by the Spirit of Truth, so he came in contact with familiar spirits disguising themselves as angels of light. His motive was not purified. He wanted the power for the power’s sake. He was not seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness but was merely seeking the power of God and its glory for fleshly reasons. No one can truly seek the kingdom of God without seeking the righteousness of God. God is a person, and anyone that would walk in His mighty power must be close to Him. Those who walk in close fellowship with God must walk in His righteousness. Spiritual gifts are not a product of your fastings, they would not be gifts if they were. It is ignorance concerning spiritual things that would make a believer seek gifts by exerting strenuous fasts and disciplines on himself. Fasting is good and it helps to condition us to be filled with might and power, but fasting must be about seeking the face of God and not seeking gifts or even power. Go into today remembering that God wants you to walk in His mighty power more than you want to. As you seek to walk in the kingdom and power of God, do not forget to also seek to walk in the righteousness of God. Prayer: Lord, deliver me from all ignorance concerning spiritual things and help me to walk in your mighty power. Amen. -Abraham Damilola Arigi BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ecclesiastes 11-12 Get sermons here: streamglobe.og/34 Streamglobe is interdenominational. True spiritual enlightenment

Get Audio Version Here: bit.ly/aud1845 1 Corinthians 12:1 (YLT) And concerning the spiritual things, brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant Ikenna got himself into a lot of trouble because in trying to seek the Lord and walk in His great power, unknown to him, he was using methods born out of spiritual knowledge that is not from the kingdom of God. This exposed him to wicked spirits that invaded his mind beyond his control. Through the help of more mature believers, he was delivered and restored. If a person’s spiritual adventure is guided by the confession of a former witch or sorcerer, he may come in contact with darkness when seeking light because he is using methods that dark spirits know how to exploit. Knowledge concerning spiritual things is very common in our world today. There are many books and materials out there that claim to enlighten one concerning spiritual things, but most of them don’t give enlightenment at all. They are manipulations by the Prince of this world to keep people under spiritual bondage, but fill their heads with powerless knowledge. Anyone who is truly spiritually enlightened will seek to be saved. There are some that seek to use spiritual principles obtained from darkness to navigate in the kingdom of light. The ways of the kingdom of God are very different from the ways of any other kingdom. The Corinthians that Paul was writing to were very vast in spiritual understanding because they used to be very experienced ‘spiritually enlightened’ Idol worshipers to the core (see 1 Corinthians 12:2), but apostle Paul referred to them as being spiritually ignorant. The spiritual knowledge they had in darkness was not an advantage for them in their new spiritual adventure in the kingdom of light. They needed to unlearn many things to learn the right things. Go into today knowing that the Bible is our spiritual manual. The Easiest way to be guided by the leading of the Holy Spirit is to understand the book He inspired from start to finish- The Bible. -SD Abraham BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 137-139 not saved? In Whom Is Your Confidence?

Get Audio Version Here: bit.ly/aud1844 Psalm 27:3-4 (KJV)Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. George awoke from his dream afraid and trembling, “thank God it was a dream he exclaimed”!. In his dream, he saw one of his very respected relatives and wanted to show her courtesy when this woman suddenly turned into a dog, chased after him vehemently and gave him multiple bites. George woke up and started praying in the spirit. Someone might ask: is George not a child of God, why then did God not stop the dog from biting him? You see, even as a Christian, a host may surround you and war may rise against you, but the state of your heart is what is most important. In whom is your confidence? One of the strongest whiles of the devil is fear, he knows that as long as a child of God is confident in God and fearless, he will have no place in him not matter what machinations he tries. He hence seeks every means to introduce fear. One of the easiest ways he can do this is through dreams. But if he doesn’t succeed in doing this through your dreams, he would give up. David in Psalm 27:13 said, “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” Go into today putting all your confidence in Jesus, believing that you will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Trust in what God says concerning you more than what any dream says concerning you. -Dr. Emmanuel James BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Nehemiah 1-4 click here to get audio sermons: streamglobe.org/34 Streamglobe is interdenominational. Fruitful in the Lord 2

John 15:7 (NET) If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you. It was really difficult for Bamidele to leave his dishonest ways, but he knew that if he was going to abide in the Lord and be fruitful, he could not continue in his old ways of sin. Even though he was very intelligent, he was more used to making money through fraud and didn’t know any other way of making a living. But as he continued to be taught and mentored in the way of the Lord, he saw that those who truly abide in the Lord and follow Him wholeheartedly in truth are those whose prayers are most powerful. He understood that this meant he could never be in lack and want if he remained in the Lord and was fruitful because then his prayers would be very powerful. He left his old sinful ways and started following the Lord. Some people thought he was crazy, but he didn’t mind. As time passed and Bamidele became more fruitful in the Lord, he would ask God for some of the most unbelievable things and they would be done for him. He eventually became a very successful honest businessman who made much more profit than he ever made during his days of fraud. One reason why those who abide in the Lord are the ones whose prayers are answered the most is because through abiding in the Lord and being transformed by His word, their motives have been purified and their prayers and desires are now in agreement with God’s will for them. God usually does not answer prayers that are not in accordance with His will. Go into today asking the Lord to multiply grace for fruitfulness in your life. Remember that anyone still conformed to this present world cannot be transformed into the nature that makes him fruitful in the Lord. —Abraham Damilola Arigi BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 20-22 click here to get audio sermons: streamglobe.org/34 Streamglobe is interdenominational. Fruitful in the Lord

Get Audio Version Here: bit.ly/aud1842 John 15:4 (NET) Remain in me, and I will remain in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. Before Bamidele accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, he used to do a lot of dishonest things to make money, and he made a lot of money this way. When Bamidele accepted the Lord Jesus and started being taught and mentored in the way of the Lord, he knew he couldn’t continue in his dishonest ways if he was going to remain in the Lord. This was one of the most difficult decisions in his life. But he knew deep within his heart that what he had in Christ was greater than all the riches of this present world. He didn’t want to lose that (Read 2 Corinthians 4:17, 1 Peter 5:10, Romans 8:18, James 1:12). Why would the Lord Jesus tell us to abide/remain in Him? Because it is possible not to abide in him but go back to the world. If a believer does not abide in the Lord, it does not necessarily mean he stops attending church services, but it means he is no more living under the Lordship and government of Christ. There is nothing that declares rebellion to the Lordship of God like continuing in any known sin and refusing to repent. If a believer does not abide in the Lord, It means he has gone back to a life of conformity to this present world of sin (Read Romans 12:2). Go into today remembering that those who abide in the Lord are the ones who are truly fruitful. Prayer confession: I am walking in a manner worthy of the Lord and bearing fruit in every good work, in Jesus name. Amen. (See Colossians 1:10). —Abraham Damilola Arigi BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Acts 17-18 Not yet saved? Click here Streamglobe is interdenominational. Loving God Unconditionally

Get Audio Version Here: bit.ly/aud1841 Daniel 3:16-18 (KJV) Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, …  If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.  But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. The passage above is the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; three young Israelite slaves in a foreign land whose love for God was sincere, genuine and unconditional. These young men loved God even when it meant death. They believed that God is able to save and deliver them from the hands of Nebuchadnezzar; but also had it in mind that even if God did not save them, their love and loyalty to Him will not change. Too many a times, many persons only love God when things are rosy and their prayers are being answered. What if God does not show up to rescue you from that trouble, will you still love Him? When it appears all things are working together against you and your prayers and fastings seem unanswered, can you still speak like Job that said “though He slays me yet will I praise Him” (Job 13:15) That is the level God wants us to attain. He desires that we love Him unconditionally just as He loves us unconditionally. And guess what? When we finally come to that point of loving God unconditionally even if nothing seems to be working, He always shows up. He showed up in the case of the three Israelites; He showed up in the case of Job and He will surely show up in your case. Don’t give up on God but rather give in to Him. Don’t lose hope, don’t lose faith, don’t, throw in the towel, don’t curse God; just love Him despite all the trials and temptations and watch Him show Himself strong in your life. Go into today knowing that God loves us unconditionally, hence He deserves our unconditional love as well. Prayer: Father, help me to love you even when it doesn’t seem convenient to in Jesus name. SEEKING FIRST THE FIRST AND NOT THINGS

Get Audio Version Here: bit.ly/aud1840 Matthew 6:33-34 (YLT)  but seek ye first the reign of God and His righteousness,  and all these shall be added to you. Be not therefore anxious for the morrow, for the morrow shall be anxious for its own things; sufficient for the day  [is] the evil of it. We live in a world and generation where the pursuit of material gain and fame is considered the key to living in happiness and fulfillment. This are the things our Lord said…”For the heathens are striving for all these things: for indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.” Seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness is a call for participation and collaboration with the Father. It is a call to participate as kingdom principals who would rule the universe with the Lord for all eternity ( Rev 21:7).  When we truly seek the kingdom of God, the things that the world seeks will begin to run after us. But those who seek the kingdom of God because they see it as the way to get ‘all these other things’ are not truly seeking the kingdom of God. They are seeking the things of this world through the kingdom of God. Such are double-minded(torn between the world and the kingdom) and should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Go into the world knowing that things are regulated and ordered by kingdoms and not the other way round. Those sold out to God’s kingdom will see the power of the kingdom at work in their lives. -Titus Ojima A. BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Zechariah 8-14 Streamglobe is interdenominational. THE BELIEVER AND HIS TRADITION 3

Get Audio Version Here: bit.ly/aud1839 1 Corinthians 11:3-4 (KJV) But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. Remember that from the second verse of 1 Cor 11, Apostle Paul begins by talking about the tradition he passed down to the believers at Corinth. It is believed that in the eastern Mediterranean, it was common practice for chaste women who are under authority to cover their heads as a sign of honor to their fathers (when they are unmarried), or to their husbands (when married). Women who did not cover their heads in public did so to the dishonor of their head (either their fathers or husbands). Only prostitutes, unchaste women, and rebellious women appeared in public formal gatherings without their heads covered as a sign of honor for their head. Now, this was a good tradition that was practiced in Israel and among the people in the Eastern Mediterranean. The Corinthian Church was one that had a tendency to be very liberal and ‘free’. It would not be a far stretch to imagine that certain women among them would uncover their heads in public gatherings because they are now ‘free’ from ‘tradition’. That spirit of rebellion and disorderliness was what apostle Paul was fighting in the Corinthian Church when he wrote the text in today’s Bible verse. go into today remembering that every good tradition upheld by the leadership of your local church assembly is good for you. It is the spirit of rebellion that seeks to operate contrary to acceptable good tradition. Ask the Lord to help you walk above all rebellion. —SD Abraham BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ecclesiastes 9-10 Streamglobe is interdenominational. THE BELIEVER AND HIS TRADITION 2

Get Audio Version Here: bit.ly/aud1838 1 Corinthians 11:2 (NET)I praise you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions just as I passed them on to you. I have heard of believers who got themselves into big trouble because they exposed themselves to some pagan practices of their culture of birth after becoming believers. When you became a believer in Christ Jesus, you became reconciled with God through faith in Christ Jesus. Because of this, you became a friend of God. But this meant you also became an enemy of the world-the prince of this world (the devil) and his company. Traditions that were born out of pagan worship were designed to connect people with demons and keep them under the domain of certain principalities. If through a cultural practice, a believer (who is now an enemy of the devil and his kingdom) brings himself under their authority, he would be greatly attacked. some have fallen asleep before their time because of this. Before the coming of the gospel, every ethnic group on earth had a culture, and these cultures were shaped by their religion and gods. The only group of people who were relatively free from cultures and traditions inspired by demons was the people of Israel because they worshiped the one true God. Being an apostle to the Gentiles, there were many things Apostle Paul had to teach and explain to the Gentile believers because they grew up in cultures that were antithetical to the divine life. . in disciling people, it is expedient that you are diligent in identifying unwholesome culural practices and traditions that the enemy may use to trap them. When you take away a bad tradition, it should be replaced with a good one. Go into today remembering that because you are of a kingdom that is higher and better than any other, you are not to submit yourself to any cultural practice that does not glorify God and uphold His righteousness. Prayer: Ask the Lord to deliver you from falling into the trap of practicing demonically inspired traditions. —SD Abraham BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 134-136 Streamglobe is interdenominational. GREATER RICHES – THE REWARD

Get Audio Version Here: bit.ly/aud1837 Hebrews 11:26 AMP “He considered the contempt and abuse and shame (borne for) the Christ (the Messiah Who was to come) to be greater wealth than all the treasures of Egypt, for he looked forward and away to the reward (recompence)” The consecrated believer must have the reward in his consciousness always. Now, understand that your consecration must be to the Lord and for the Lord, but it is good to keep the reward (God’s reward) in our remembrance. That reward is so great that it puts this world’s pleasure in its place. So when we juxtapose God’s reward and what this world has to offer, the allure of this world’s enticement will lose its power. The reward comes with a glory that the world cannot boast of nor can it fathom, in fact, we cannot fully grasp the fullness of the glory or the entire details of Christ’s reward, but we know from scriptures that it is glorious. Keeping the reward in mind fills us with joy, even in the midst of suffering for Christ in our consecration to him. It keeps us from being like pitiable unfortunate keepers of a law, but the rather, it ignites real joy in us. Think of Stephen when being stoned, he saw heaven opened, and the last thing that comes to mind when thinking of Stephen at his death is pity. Keep the reward in mind. Bible speaking about Jesus said “He, for the joy (of obtaining the prize) that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Heb 12:2b AMP). Paul speaking in 2nd Cor 4:17, 18 about our reward tells us that we have an eternal weight of glory which is far greater than any present affliction suffered for Christ, and that that is what we look at. Boldly stand for Christ, keep your gaze on him, and also keep the reward in mind. It is great, it is eternal, let it fill you with joy (1st Peter 4:13), it is worth it. —Ikechukwu Mpama BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:Ezra 6-10 Partner with us here: www.streamglobe.org/partner Streamglobe is interdenominational.
