Way to Kingdom Greatness 2
1 Corinthians 13:2 (NKJV) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. When Eze traveled to the village for the Christmas celebrations, he came in contact with some challenges that were orchestrated by demons. He tried to cast out the demons, but they seemed too strong for him to handle, and he started wondering why. When he reported the matter to his sister who was a more recent believer, she laughed over the problem and assured him that the matter was resolved. She simply prayed a simple prayer and commanded the demons to leave. The level of calmness and authority with which she commanded those demons showed that she knew what she was doing and already had great power with God. The matter was resolved instantly after Eze’s sister prayed with authority. This was how Eze knew that he did not have sufficient spiritual authority to handle certain matters because he was still a spiritual baby, even though he walked in spiritual gifts and had been a believer longer than his sister. One thing Eze could say about his sister was that she was a very selfless believer whose love for the Lord [and the brethren] couldn’t be hidden. There was a time she turned down a very high-paying job because she was convinced it would hinder her from serving the Lord the way she should. Eze knew he couldn’t do what she did, but he also knew things like that were why she had more esteem and authority in heaven than him. The path of spiritual maturity and authority is the path of love and selflessness. Just like physically speaking, a young child in the family does not have as much authority over the family estate as when he becomes mature, a spiritual babe does not walk in the level of authority he would walk in when he becomes spiritually mature. Love is the fruit that God expects to see us produce because of His divine life within us. It is abnormal for those who have been born of God to not be fruitful, but it can happen if they allow themselves to be conformed to the standards of this loveless world. Go into today remembering that a man who allows himself to be transformed by the renewing of his mind through the understanding of God’s Word is a man who would walk in the divine nature of love and wield great spiritual authority. Prayer: ask the Lord to help you walk in the fullness of your authority in Him. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Isaiah 1-6 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. Worthy To Walk With The Lord
Revelation 3:4 [NET] But you have a few individuals in Sardis who have not stained their clothes, and they will walk with me dressed in white, because they are worthy. When Joyce first believed, she was not a very honest person, and her words meant nothing to her. She didn’t know this was wrong, but as she grew in her walk with God, she noticed that the Lord kept revealing things in her life that were not in alignment with His righteousness. Each time this happened, she would repent, and grow in her knowledge of God and His grace (power). We can learn from today’s Bible text that it is only those whose garments are unstained that can walk [in fellowship] with the Lord. When a Christian walks in sin, His [spiritual] clothes are stained [by it], and he is unable to fellowship with God appropriately and walk in his spiritual authority accordingly. This cannot happen to Christians who are already walking in the light by walking in constant fellowship with God who is the light (See 1 John 1:5). Because they are walking in the light, and sin is darkness, they do not walk in sin. This does not mean they cannot be tempted and sometimes fall, but it means they cannot take their place in sin. There are weaknesses that hinder believers from closer fellowship with God, yet these sins may be unknown to them. But as they walk in the light, the light continually reveals every darkness in them and the blood of Jesus cleanses them from it as they acknowledge (confess) it and repent (see 1 John 1:7,9). When this happens, they further advance in their knowledge (closer fellowship) of God and grow in grace and spiritual might. This is something that happens over time. Go into today asking the Lord to help you grow in the knowledge of Him. Bible In One Year: Psalms 1-2 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. Being sure
2 Peter 1:10 (NET) Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to be sure of your calling and election. For by doing this you will never stumble into sin. Funsho observed the rate at which ministers of the gospel were stumbling and becoming slaves of mammon. Because of this, he entered into a season of waiting on the Lord because he wanted the Lord to show him the secret of not stumbling. It was as he was meditating on the word that the Holy Spirit reminded him of today’s Bible verse. Today’s Bible verse admonishes us to make every effort to be sure of our calling and election. This happens in the place of examining ourselves regularly to be sure we are still in the faith. You can ask yourself these questions regularly as you examine yourself in the Lord’s presence: Do I love the Lord more today than when I first believed? Have I stopped doing my first works that demonstrated love for the Lord(eg evangelism)? Do I pray more today or less than before? Do I spend time on the word more today than before? Do I still love the brethren or has my love waxed cold over time? Am I still fulfilling God’s unique call for my life? Am I still growing in my knowledge of the Lord or have I become complacent? These are some of the simple questions that answering would help us know if we are still on the straight and narrow path that leads to life. Go into today remembering to regularly check your heart to be sure its affection is still on Christ and Christ alone. Make every effort to be sure of your calling and election. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me remain in you and never stumble out of the way. Give me the wisdom to examine myself regularly in your presence. Pursue Love
1 Corinthians 14:1 (NET) Pursue love and be eager for the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. One of the things Mayowa learned through his involvement in honey farming was that even though honey is free, it does not come cheap. Many good things in this life that do not just bloom naturally, you have to pursue them. Love and spiritual gifts are in that category. Inasmuch as love for us is the fruit of the spirit, if we are not deliberate about walking in love, we would find that we won’t walk in love because most people do not behave in ways that inspire love. Also, in order for us to walk in our spiritual gifts, we need to be eager for them. We need to desire them and fan them to flame. We need [to learn] to celebrate [and commune with] the Holy Spirit who empowers us to walk in them. Go into today remembering that even though your spiritual gifts and the ability to walk in love have been freely given to you, you would have to pursue love and be eager for spiritual gifts. When your life produces the fruit of sincere love, you will find that all the other attributes of God’s divine nature (of power and wisdom) will easily find expression in your life. Prayer: Today, I will be deliberate and intentional about walking in love. I will manifest the divine nature and bring my heavenly Father glory. You Have Authority In Christ
1 Cor 6:3 (KJV) Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? There was a video that went viral on Facebook. In that video, a very fat cat was trying to catch an angry rat, and instead of the cat pursuing the rat, it was the rat that now turned and was pursuing the cat. The rat pursued the cat to the extent that the cat would cry out each time the rat made contact with it. It was unbelievable. Many Christians have been defeated in life not because they do not have what it takes to be overcomers, but because they have failed to realize that they have what it takes. They have forgotten how powerful they really are in Christ, and cower in the face of the smallest situation that confronts them, instead of standing firm on the word of God that cannot fail. If you are in Christ, you are naturally an overcomer. No demon should be able to stand you because you are seated in heaven far above them and have all authority over them because you are in Christ(see Eph 2:6). But devils are very daring; they will try their luck every now and then and hope you forget who you are and start reacting in fear. There is nothing that kills boldness like sin consciousness. There is nothing that boosts boldness like righteousness consciousness (see Prov 28:1). I believe one reason the Holy Spirit brings boldness is that He gives us assurance of our righteousness with God. Go into today determined to walk in the Spirit. This also means you will dominate your heart with the consciousness of the righteousness you have with God through the sacrifice of Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you always walk in your Spiritual authority and power. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Romans 1-2 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. Before You Meet Goliath, Tend The Sheep
Zechariah 4:10 (NLT) ‘’Do not despise this small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand. The seven lamps represent the eyes of the Lord that search all around the world.’’ God instructed Samuel to anoint David as king in place of Saul over Israel in 1 Samuel 16:1 and as soon as he was anointed, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him (verse 13). He, however, remained as a Shepard boy until the day his father sent him to give his brothers food on the battlefield (1Samuel 17:17, 18 and 28).Note that David did not hurry to take over the throne from King Saul because he had been anointed or because the Spirit of the Lord had come upon him, instead, he waited for God’s time and while waiting, he attended to his father’s sheep. We saw a similar scenario play out with Joseph who knew that God was with him, yet he served as a servant under his masters. It is unfortunate today that many believers are after the ‘head of Goliath’ and have abandoned ‘the few sheep’. They want to start big and famous but have forsaken their training classes. Unlike Joseph, they have become proud, arrogant and unteachable because of their big dream. They have forgotten that the God who gave the dream also set the training classes. Do not neglect today in your chase after tomorrow, it must be step after step, a little here and a little there (Isaiah 28:10). Go into today knowing that the big dream will only come to pass when you pass the test of training (Psalms 105:19). The Spirit of Christ 1
Romans 8:9 (NET) You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him. Tony accepted the Lord Jesus in a neighborhood house fellowship. Because the leader of the fellowship sensed that Tony needed to be ministered to for deliverance, he told Tony to wait behind and be ministered to. That day, Tony was delivered of demonic possession and was also baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. His heart was so filled with joy that it was evident to his friends and neighbors that “something has changed about Tony”. Tony had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit but he needed to learn of Christ and become like Christ. This is what is called discipleship. The indwelling Holy Spirit within him changed his appetites and gave him a desire for the word and presence of God. Even though Tony received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, if he does not continue to abide in Christ and bring forth fruit, he would be as a branch cast out and trampled underfoot of men(John 15:6, Matthew 5:13). After believing in the Lord Jesus and receiving the Holy Spirit, it is important we grow and walk in the spirit(Character) of Christ because it is only those who have the spirit of Christ that belong to Him. Go into today remembering that it is not just those that say “Lord, Lord”, but those that do the will of God are those who will enter the kingdom of heaven(see Matthew 7:21). If Jesus is truly your Lord, then you will do His will. Prayer: Father, help me abide in Christ and be fruitful. Help me live a life that is ruled by Your will, In Jesus name. Receive with Thanksgiving
1 Timothy 4:4-5 (NET) For every creation of God is good and no food is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer. Growing up, we used to drink soya milk and eat other meals made with soy. As we grew older, we were told that soya wasn’t good because it caused infertility issues. I remember we no longer consumed it for some time until much later when some medical experts said soya oil is one of the best oils to consume. Today, I have read several articles that insist that soya oil is one of the most dangerous oils to consume because it messes with certain body hormones. Butter that was once said to be unhealthy is now highly recommended as one of the best oils for daily consumption. Today, there may be many things we consume that may not be good for our bodies, but we do not know. Some may even be consumed because we were told that they are good while they are really not good for the body. For the believer in Christ, we are not under any laws regarding the food we eat. As long as we receive our food with thanksgiving, it would be sanctified and made good for us. It is very important for the believer today to understand and believe this truth so that he would have the required faith to connect with this reality. Many diseases are caused by the wrong diet. Many times, people don’t even know what in their diet is culpable. But for the believer who serves the Lord(as we all should), the Lord promises to bless our food and our water and take sickness and disease from us (see Exodus 23:25). It is an error to make a doctrine out of matters of diet, but it is very easy to fall into this trap and spend more time talking about diet than talking about Jesus. Let’s be careful that we don’t expose ourselves to elemental spirits but live in the liberty that Christ has purchased for us. To the best of your knowledge, eat as healthy as possible, but be careful not to let your trust in Christ’s grace for divine health be replaced with trust in a diet plan. It has been proven time and time again that there is more to life than food…(see Matthew 12:23). Go into today remembering to receive every food set before you with thanksgiving so that it would be sanctified and made good for you. Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the food that You provide. I ask that you give me a thankful heart always, In Jesus’ name. The Virus of False Doctrines
1 Timothy 4:3-5 (NET) They will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creation of God is good and no food is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer. The reason Sheldon started attending that church where they taught license was because he grew up in one where they taught legalism. In his former church, they were so sin-conscious that they made the people perpetually feel condemned and unaccepted. They went as far as using the old Testament to proscribe certain foods and tag them as sinful. Remember, the believer is not under the law of Moses but under the law of Christ (see 1 Corinthians 9:21, Galatians 6:2).There are two kinds of false doctrines out there. There are those that go on the side of license and the others that go on the side of legalism. Those that go on the side of license are usually laden with sexual immorality and high-sounding nonsense. They use the grace of God as a license to continue in iniquity and trivialize sin. The other kind of false doctrines out there are those that go on the side of legalism. They are those who insist on rules and regulations as the way to be right with God. They don’t understand the righteousness of God but seek to establish their own righteousness by their own effort. They are as dangerous or even more dangerous than the license group. They do not walk by faith but by rules and regulations, and because of this, they do not walk in love but in accusations and condemnation. Whenever you see two doctrinal extremes in the body of Christ, the truth is usually in the middle. Even though we are not saved by our works of righteousness, our faith produces in us works of righteousness(James 2:14, Ephesians 2:10). If it doesn’t, then it is not living but dead faith. Whenever you see a teacher always talking about rules and regulations and threatening believers with going hell as a consequence for breaking his laws, be wary. Whenever you see a teacher always talking about the grace that covers sins and never talks about how grace empowers believers to be godly and do what is right, be wary. Go into today remembering that the grace of God teaches people to deny ungodliness and fleshly lusts. Legalism teaches people to set aside the grace of God and rather depend on their ability to keep rules and regulations as the reason why they are saved. Legalism and license are two sides of the same evil coin of false doctrines. Prayer: Father, please guide me from the virus of false doctrines in Jesus’ name. Amen. Want to be saved?
