Zechariah 4:10 (NLT) ‘’Do not despise this small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand. The seven lamps represent the eyes of the Lord that search all around the world.’’
Note that David did not hurry to take over the throne from King Saul because he had been anointed or because the Spirit of the Lord had come upon him, instead, he waited for God’s time and while waiting, he attended to his father’s sheep. We saw a similar scenario play out with Joseph who knew that God was with him, yet he served as a servant under his masters.
It is unfortunate today that many believers are after the ‘head of Goliath’ and have abandoned ‘the few sheep’. They want to start big and famous but have forsaken their training classes. Unlike Joseph, they have become proud, arrogant and unteachable because of their big dream. They have forgotten that the God who gave the dream also set the training classes.
Do not neglect today in your chase after tomorrow, it must be step after step, a little here and a little there (Isaiah 28:10).
Go into today knowing that the big dream will only come to pass when you pass the test of training (Psalms 105:19).
Prayer: Lord, grant me the wisdom to wait and learn from you until the day of my showing forth.
