The right response to God’s word

James 4:17 (NET) So whoever knows what is good to do and does not do it is guilty of sin. Itopa heard a powerful sermon about the kingdom of God and God’s expectations for his saints. While hearing this sermon, he had a strong witness in his heart that what the preacher said was the truth. With the new understanding he gained, the scriptures also became clearer. After listening to the sermon, Itopa prayed and prayed, but he didn’t change his ways. He continued to be a worldly Christian whose greatest aspiration was more money. Ever since the day Itopa heard that sermon, his prayers were no longer getting answered. He also observed that he was no longer enjoying the fellowship of the Holy Spirit the way he used to. “What exactly is going on!” Itopa exclaimed. “How come my prayer life went dry after I heard that wonderful sermon and prayed so hard? Am I under an attack?” After days of spiritual dryness and consequent afflictions, Itopa realized that the reason for the spiritual dryness he observed was because the word he heard brought greater light and a higher revelation of truth to him, but he continued to walk in his former ways of ignorance. Before he was exposed to this greater truth and light, the Lord condoned his ignorance since he didn’t know any better, but the ignorance limited him greatly without him knowing it. Now that he was exposed to greater light, continuing in his old ways of ignorance was no longer acceptable before the Lord. This was the reason for the dryness he experienced. Many believers walk in a very limited version of themselves because of the limited light of God’s word that they have been exposed to. The Lord waits eagerly for them to receive greater light and consequently unleash their potential. But when such believers receive the greater light of God’s word but refuse to change their ways because of tradition, convenience, or any other reason they may have, God doesn’t take it lightly with such believers. They can experience a closed heaven because of that.  Go into today remembering that every new exposure to greater light through God’s word does not leave you the same, it either promotes you or demotes you if you refuse to adjust. God can wink at times of ignorance, but when greater light comes through the ministry of the word, repentance is the only acceptable outcome for God’s people. —Abraham Damilola Arigi To start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, click here to join our WhatsApp Channel: https://chat.whatsapp.com/E65dqaVf0Zl6Z5t5v1qCws Download the Audio Version of today’s Devotional: http://bit.ly/aud3570 Bible In One Year: Isaiah 1-6 (In Devotional Audio) Audio Bible credit: Bible Experience, Zondervan Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together. Christ Heals those who follow Him

Matthew 19:1-2 (NET) Now when Jesus finished these sayings, he left Galilee and went to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan River. Large crowds followed him, and he healed them there. Obinna accepted the Lord Jesus and continued to grow in his walk with God. He realized that the goal of God in calling us is that we become like Christ (see Romans 8:29), so he was committed to becoming like Christ. But he was very aware that there were spiritual ailments that bedeviled him and this was a problem that followed every member of his family. One of the manifestations of this spiritual ailment was that no member of his family ever excelled in anything good. His elder brothers were thieves and his younger sister lived in a brothel. As Obinna continued to follow the Lord, he observed that he was now free. He was now able to excel in good things and prosper. His pastor encouraged him to return to school and he heeded his pastor’s advice. Five years after he accepted Christ he graduated from a university as the best in his class, with multiple job offers. Through him, salvation and deliverance from generational curses came into his family. As Obinna’s focus shifted to becoming more like Christ, the yokes in his life that could not enslave Christ began to break off because he was becoming more like Christ. The key to spiritual liberty is allowing yourself to become more like Christ daily. This happens as you give yourself daily to prayer and the infusion of God’s word. From today’s Bible verse, we see that during the Lord’s earthly ministry, he healed the people that followed Him. If you will follow Jesus today, he will heal you of every physical and spiritual infirmity. Go into today remembering that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If He healed those who followed Him then, He will heal you today if you truly follow Him and become His disciple. Prayer Confession: I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I am free from all curses and walk in the blessing of Abraham. Want to be saved? Do Not Trust A Man

Psalm 146:5 (KJV), “Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God” Tonye partnered with her bosom friend to do a business and the business prospered, but when it was time to share the proceeds, she got the shock of her life; her friend disappeared and became incommunicado. After this experience, her slogan became “trust no man”. Tonye’s conclusion was based on a hurt, and you may have come to the same conclusion if you have experienced a similar situation. This however is neither my emphasis nor the reason for today’s topic. Psalm 146:3 (KJV) reads: “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help”. “Are you for real? Do you mean there is no help in princes? Why then do we appeal to them for help?” Someone might ask. I believe these questions were answered in Proverbs 3:5-6 which says: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”. If you are trusting the Lord with all your heart, you cannot trust in another at the same time. If you are able to trust anything else, it shows you have not trusted the Lord with all your heart. Go into today knowing that when you put all your trust in God, he directs your path and this may include getting you help from a prince. Prayer confession: my trust is not in any man neither is my trust in anything. My whole trust is in the Lord and he will direct my path in Jesus’ name, amen! —Dr. Emmanuel James To start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, click here to join our WhatsApp Channel: https://chat.whatsapp.com/E65dqaVf0Zl6Z5t5v1qCws Download the Audio Version of this Devotional Here: http://bit.ly/aud3568 Bible In One Year: Psalms 1-2 (In Devotional Audio) Audio Bible credit: Bible Experience, Zondervan Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together. What Is Being God’s Image?

Matthew 22:20-21 (KJV) “And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s”. In the verses that precede today’s text, the Pharisees tempted Jesus’ judgment, so they could pit him against God or at least against the ruling authority and the tool used was the tax coin. He however escaped their trap. The special thing about this coin is that it bears the image of Caesar. Using this coin as an example, we intend to gain knowledge regarding the question, “what is being God’s image?”? According to Genesis 1:27 (KJV), “…God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them”. So, what is being God’s image? As Jesus pointed out to the Pharisees, the tax coin bears Caesar’s image, which indicates that it belonged to Caesar. So, being God’s image is to be God’s. Secondly, Wherever the coin was spent, Caesar has authority, so wherever man is found, God has authority. Thirdly, the coin testified to Caesar and reminded the people of him. In like manner, a man or a woman should testify to God and remind others of him. In summary, according to today’s lesson, being in God’s image is to be God’s property and have the ability to represent and or testify to him. Go into today knowing that the most reasonable thing to do as God’s property is to offer yourself to him.—Dr. Emmanuel James To start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, click here to join our WhatsApp Channel: https://chat.whatsapp.com/E65dqaVf0Zl6Z5t5v1qCws Download the Audio Version of this Devotional Here: http://bit.ly/aud3567 Bible In One Year: Genesis 1-3 (In Devotional Audio) Audio Bible credit: Bible Experience, Zondervan Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together. Matthew 22:20-21 (KJV), “And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s” Mr. Joseph, an Elder in a popular church, was confronted about giving and receiving bribes. In his response, he said, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, wisdom is profitable to direct. Isn’t that what the Bible teaches?” Like Mr. Joseph, there are many professing Christians who also imbibe this philosophy of giving to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. As far as they are concerned, there is nothing wrong with giving and receiving bribes, cheating in examinations, falsifying their age and other documents, giving money for pagan rituals and traditional rites, and other such things that are frowned upon by wholesome Bible-believing Christians. They believe that as long as those things they condone do not stop them from going to Church, they are simply giving Satan what is due him and God what he deserves. What exactly does the sentence “render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s” mean? It is all about image. If the coin has Caesar’s image on it, give it to Caesar, since having Caesar’s image on it proves that it is his. In like manner, if God’s image is on you or if you are God’s image, give yourself to God because you belong to him. If you do otherwise in either case, you will be guilty and in peril of a very fearful judgment. Go into today knowing that you are God’s image, hence you have to give yourself to God, just as it was right to give Caesar’s coin to Caesar. The Pillars of Godliness

Broadcast 3565 1 Timothy 4:12 (NET) Let no one look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in your speech, conduct, love, faithfulness, and purity. After learning and understanding how godliness was beneficial to the believer, Gerald wanted to truly be godly because he was tired of the defeated life he was living. For example, he had been spending so much on medications and he now understood that the power of the divine life could keep him in divine health, but this power is unleashed through godliness. One of the things the grace of God does to us believers is that it empowers us to live godly lives.Titus 2:11-12 (NET) For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age… In today’s Bible verse, we see five areas in which godliness can be made manifest. The first is in our speech or words. If a man has control over his words, he has control over his life and destiny (see James 3:2, Proverbs 13:3). Proverbs 18:21 puts it this way: “The tongue has the power of death and life.” The stakes are high. Your words can either speak life, or your words can speak death. Our tongues can build others up, or they can tear them down. Go into today remembering that one of the important areas of Godliness is in the way we use our tongues. If you can control the use of your tongue, you would be able to control other areas of your life. Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you use your tongue wisely.‘Lord, let all my words be seasoned with salt. Let no idle word proceed out of my mouth. Want to be saved? The kingdom is coming

Rev 2:26-27 (KJV) And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.  When Christ physically returns, He will come with great power and glory, and He will be united with us His saints (the overcomers). He will come to take over the governments of this earth(Daniel 7:27, Revelation 11:15). And because the rulers will not be willing to peacefully hand over power to Him, He will take it by force. We all who are his saints will come with Christ in our glorified bodies; bodies just like that of Christ, and we shall rule and reign over the earth for 1000 years. The city in which you currently live will most likely still be called by its current name when these things happen. The people of the world will not be able to defeat us because we will have superior (glorified) bodies that cannot be hurt. We will have superior intelligence and superior power. The rulers of the earth will have to fall in line or be smashed (see Psalm 2). When the kingdom of God physically comes to the earth, the wealthiest person on earth will be less than the least in our Kingdom. Our government will be so wealthy that we would be able to afford to pave our streets with gold. And all humankind (and angels) will be under our dominion (see 1 Cor 6:2-3). Go into today remembering that the Kingdom is coming. We have proof to show that these promises of the Lord are true: the Holy Spirit within us gives us a foretaste of the powers to come and assures us of these things. Not yet part of the kingdom? Separation unto sanctification

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (NET) Therefore “come out from their midst, and be separate,” says the Lord, “and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,” says the All-Powerful Lord. Daniele was confused because she did not understand why God treated Helen better than her. She had observed, documented, and come to the conclusion that God had favorites and might be a little partial. But she couldn’t be more wrong. Unlike her, when Helen gave her life to Christ, she gave it fully. She was submitted to discipleship and when her discipler advised her to separate from her worldly friends, she did so because she wanted to be sanctified unto the Lord alone. Because of this, she grew and started to practically enjoy the fatherhood of God and know the voice of the Lord. Daniele, on the other hand, remained a baby Christian who wanted the best of both worlds. She wanted to belong to Jesus but didn’t want to miss out on the world. Because of this lack of separation and sanctification, she could not enjoy the fatherhood of God. She knew this because she saw the privileges Helen enjoyed through her robust relationship with her heavenly Father. Scripture does not say those who believe are automatically sons of God, it says God gives them the power to become sons of God (see John 1:12). This power helps us to separate ourselves from the world and be sanctified unto God. As revealed in today’s Bible verse, God’s fatherhood will only be experienced by those who separate themselves from the world. Go into today remembering that you can actually walk in the sonship of God. The key to this is separation unto sanctification. Prayer: Lord, please help me separate myself from the world and enjoy the fatherhood of God. Want to be saved? The Spirit of Christ

Romans 8:9 (NET) You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him. Tony accepted the Lord Jesus in a neighborhood house fellowship. Because the leader of the fellowship sensed that Tony needed to be ministered to for deliverance, he told Tony to wait behind and be ministered to. That day, Tony was delivered of demonic possession and baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. His heart was so filled with joy that it was evident to his friends and neighbors that “something has changed about Tony”. Tony had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit but he needed to learn of Christ and become like Christ. This is what is called discipleship. The indwelling Holy Spirit within him changed his appetites and gave him a desire for the word and presence of God. Even though Tony received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, if he does not continue to abide in Christ and bring forth fruit, he would be as a branch cast out and trampled underfoot of men(John 15:6, Matthew 5:13). After believing in the Lord Jesus and receiving the Holy Spirit, it is important we grow and walk in the spirit(Character) of Christ because it is only those who have the spirit of Christ that belong to Him. Go into today remembering that it is not just those that say “Lord, Lord”, but those that do the will of God are those who will enter the kingdom of heaven(see Matthew 7:21). If Jesus is truly your Lord, then you will do His will. Prayer: Father, help me abide in Christ and be fruitful. Help me live a life that is ruled by Your will, In Jesus’ name. Why Ask?

Matthew 7:11 (NKJV) If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Most good earthly fathers and mothers don’t have to wait for their children to ask them for things they need before they give them. Sometimes, our earthly fathers and mothers are the ones to notice that we have a need and meet it before we even realize that we have such needs. But God is more gracious than the best parents in this world. As a matter of fact, when you compare the goodness of the best man to that of God, that man would seem like an evil person. That’s why Jesus said in today’s Bible verse that ‘if ye then, being evil… ‘ Why then do we need to ask our heavenly Father before we receive certain things from Him? Why does He keep encouraging us in different parts of His word to ask in order to receive (see Psalm 2:8, Matt 7:7, James 1:5, James 4:2b, etc)? Being so good and loving and kind, why doesn’t He just give us all we need and we not needing to ask Him first? When God made man after His image and likeness, He created in man the ability to have self-will and self-government, and man was to live by submitting this will and government to God. Through the fall, man declared independence from God, and in effect, disconnected himself from the life and government of God. Because God had already given man dominion over this realm(see Psa 115:16, ps 8:6) and God does not go back on His word, man was now the master of his destiny and Satan his master through sin. Now that God is redeeming man from the fall, He needs men to ask Him before He can do certain things for them. Asking God concerning your needs [and wants] does not inform Him about them (He already knows them), asking Him gives Him the spiritual legal license and access to invade your life and help you. Many times, He needs us to give Him this license by asking Him, that’s why He keeps reminding us to ask. Because of the fall, almost every action of man is saying to God that “I do not need you. I can survive on my own”. Asking God would undo that and say “I need you”. And there are times we need to continually consciously keep asking so as to sufficiently undo the rebellion that the accuser of brethren is using as a legal ground against us. Go into today remembering that prayer is earthly permission for heavenly invasion. Let heaven invade your life today with God’s goodness. Prayer: Ask the Lord to give you the grace to always pray according to His will.—Abraham Damilola Arigi To start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, click here to join our WhatsApp Channel: https://chat.whatsapp.com/E65dqaVf0Zl6Z5t5v1qCws Download the Audio Version of this Devotional Here: http://bit.ly/aud3561 Yearly Bible Plan: Psalms 149-150 (In Devotional Audio) Audio Bible credit: Bible Experience, Zondervan Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together.
