CARRIERS OF GOD’S PRESENCE 2

Genesis 41:38 (KJV) And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? Williams was a believer and worked in an organization known for people hustling and stepping over others in order to climb up the career ladder. Though he felt like giving up at some point in terms of having any progress, he remained steadfast, doing the right thing at work to the disgust of some his colleagues. Eventually, there was a big shake-up in the organization as external auditors visited and with their visit, many were fired for fraudulent activities. He was the only one found to be clean in his department and soon afterward a new management made him the head there. It’s sad to know that if a test was conducted to separate believers from those who are not, many who claim to be believers will fall under the unbelievers category because today, the demarcation lines have been blurred and that seal of authenticity that God requires is no longer promoted (2 Tim 2:19). From our text, Pharoah saw that there was a clear difference between Joseph and his own magicians due to God’s presence in the life of Joseph. Pharoah’s question is very much valid today in our generation. Can they point to us and say “these ones are different from the rest because they have Jesus”? Being carriers of God’s presence will surely make us enemies of the world and bring to us tough tests and trials. Nonetheless, we are assured eternal victory in the end (Jn 16:33, 2 Cor 4:17-18). Go into today conscious and actively living as one who has the Almighty inside of him, for soon you’ll also be celebrated and recognized for good. -Chibo E.C. Not yet saved? CARRIERS OF GOD’S PRESENCE 1

2 Samuel 6:11 (KJV) And the ark of the Lord continued in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months: and the Lord blessed Obed-edom, and all his household. Tom and his wife were chosen by their church to host a guest minister of God for a special program. Until then, Tom and his wife lived in pretense but quarreled and fought in the closet of their home. However, during the minister’s stay, things changed, as Tom, who previously would hit his wife during arguments, developed self-control. His wife who was also very verbally abusive learned to restrain her tongue because of the presence of this minister in their home. They later repented and with counseling, became more aware of God’s presence in their marriage. Like the couple in the story, many live their lives carelessly, through ungodly thoughts, words, and actions, just because they think that no one sees them. But God sees and knows all things. From our text, the ark of the Lord represents the presence of God and where the presence of the Lord is, there is joy, goodness, liberty, vision and godly transformation (Psa 16:11, 2 Cor 3:16-18). The reason why these blessings are not the reality of many is their failure to walk in the awareness of God’s presence. As believers, we are God carriers, and in Christ, we have the fullness of His presence to guard and guide us in every aspect of our lives (John 1:16, Col 2:9-10). Therefore, by us walking with the awareness that we are carrying God’s presence, we learn to hate what God hates (sin) and obey that which He approves: loving Him and loving one another without pretense (Heb 1:9, 1Jn 4:12). Go with the awareness today that you are a carrier of God’s presence and as you live your life based on this truth, you’ll surely be greatly blessed. -Chibo E.C. Not yet saved? THE POWER OF GOD TO US

1 Corinthians 1:24 (NET) But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. When Memunat became a believer in Christ Jesus, what attracted her to Christ was the power of God she saw present in the life of her roommate in the university. She wanted to walk in that kind of authority and power. She saw that her roommate wasn’t afraid of what everyone feared. She saw her roommate walk in divine health and healing. Unlike her, her roommate was sure of her eternal destiny and wasn’t afraid of the future. She wanted that kind of power and certainty for the future. That was why she accepted the Lord Jesus. After she was baptized in the Holy Spirit, she received power and authority. She was so excited because she was now endued with God’s power and she knew it. When someone was trying to persuade her against her faith in Christ, it was impossible because Jesus was the power of God to her. He was not just a philosophical or religious leader to her, she walked daily in His tangible power. Today, many believers have shaky faith because they do not dwell in the power dimension of their relationship with the Lord. This power is constantly ministered to us by the Holy Spirit. He empowers anyone He comes upon (see Acts 1:8), and this is all because of our relationship with the Lord Jesus (John 16:13-14). Go into today remembering that Christ is the power and wisdom of God to us who believe. Believers who are filled with the Spirit and with Joy are powerful believers. Do not let the devil steal your joy because your power operates better in the atmosphere of joy. Prayer: Lord, please fill me with the Holy Ghost once again. -SD Abraham Get AUDIO SERMONS here☞ http://bit.ly/SERmons Yearly Bible Reading: Psalms 51-53 (Available in Today’s Audio) Kindly share this Interdenominational Devotional with friends and let’s touch lives together. THE PREACHING OF THE CROSS 3

1 Corinthians 1:21-23 (NET) For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching. For Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks ask for wisdom, but we preach about a crucified Christ, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles. A certain Christian musician was beginning to become really popular in his country, and international doors were beginning to open for him on every side. He received high profile visitors who were big players in the global music industry. They told him that they were really impressed with his music and would love to produce his first international hit album. Their offer sounded too good to be true, but there was just one condition he needed to meet. They said they observed that he mentioned the name ‘Jesus’ a lot in his songs. They said he would have to refrain from mentioning that name and simply talk about God. He was wise enough to turn down their offer because he wasn’t comfortable with the idea of omitting the name of his master and Lord in the songs he received from Him. The world does not have a problem with morality and Christianity, as long as Christ is omitted. What they have a problem with is the message about the crucified Christ who is Lord and King of all. To this day, what have hindered many Jews from the light of salvation is the refusal to accept that Jesus Christ is Lord. This has been their stumbling block as a nation.  But to us who are being saved, Jesus is the power and the wisdom of God. His grace has delivered us from the bondage of sin and Satan. Go into today praying in the spirit and asking God to empower you to preach Christ and draw people from the darkness of this world.  -SD Abraham   Not yet saved? THE PREACHING OF THE CROSS 2

1 Corinthians 1:19-20 (NKJV) For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? Biodun was very angry with his brother because his brother told him that Jesus was the solution to his marital problems. Biodun: do you think I am one of those weak foolish people who cry to God for everything instead of taking responsibility? I don’t have time for this foolishness you are talking about. Tayo (Biodun’s Brother): you asked me how my home was saved and I told you. I did not mean to offend you. I am only trying to show you the way my home became peaceful and restored. Vivian and I did not have any hope together; we were always fighting and were ready for a divorce, but someone invited us to a crusade, and we accepted the Lord there. That was how peace and love came into our home. We became accountable to each other, and because we now both fear the Lord, there are certain things we cannot do. I trust Vivian totally because I know she fears the Lord. She trusts me too. Biodun was a very wise person in this world, but his wisdom could not save his marriage. His brother who he considered to not so wise was the one with a happy home and successful life because he received the preaching of the cross. If a person lives a life regulated by the cross of Christ, he would walk in such wisdom that will prove to the wise of the world that they are foolish. Go into today thanking God for sending the message of the cross your way. Ask the Lord to help you also be a messenger of this glorious message. -SD Abraham Yearly Bible Reading: Exodus 17-20 (Available in Today’s Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational. THE PREACHING OF THE CROSS

1 Corinthians 1:18 (KJV) For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. Biodun and Shade now had a very sour and unhappy marriage. Shade was convinced that her husband was now cheating on her because he bought a new phone with fingerprint password and made it impossible for her to access it. He also started coming home really late. Biodun felt that his wife no longer loved him, so he stopped showing her affection the way he used to. They now always disagreed. Biodun wanted a happy home like that of his brother. He asked his younger brother what the secret was because he knew there was a time that his brother was having problems in his marriage and almost got a divorce. His brother told him that his secret was accepting Jesus and letting Jesus become the Lord of his marriage. He preached the cross to Biodun and told him that the Lord Jesus had the power to save his marriage and bring peace to his Life because He has paid for this on the cross. This didn’t make any sense to Biodun. ‘What foolishness!’ He said. ‘I say I have marital problems and you are telling me to believe in Jesus that died on the cross?’ The preaching of the cross is foolishness to unbelievers, but it is the power of God to those who believe. Believing in the sacrifice of Jesus and accepting His lordship is the source of all power for the believer. When you see a believer walking in divine health, it is because he believes that Jesus has paid for this on the cross, and receives it by faith (1 Pet 2:24). When you see a believer walking above curses and demonic limitations, it is because he believes that all curses against him have been nailed to the cross (Col 2:14). When you see a believer walking in divine provisions, it is because he believes that Jesus has paid for this on the cross (see 2 Cor 8:9), etc.  -SD Abraham Yearly Bible Reading: II Corinthians 4-5 (Available in Today’s Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational. BAPTISM

1 Corinthians 1:15-17 (NKJV) Lest anyone should say that I had baptized in my own name. Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas. Besides, I do not know whether I baptized any other. For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. I once had a conversation with a man who was trying to convince me that water baptism was not necessary for Christians. His said that when Jesus told His disciples to preach and baptize, He was not referring to water baptism but to the baptism in the Holy Spirit. That is not true because we see in the Bible that all who believed were baptized in water. In mentioning the principles of the doctrine of Christ, Hebrews 6:2 mentions baptisms and not baptism because the believer does not just have one baptism. Most people who claim that water baptism is not necessary usually quote today’s verses and say that if water baptism was necessary, why didn’t God instruct Paul to baptize as well? My answer has always been: because God sent other people to baptize and disciple the people Paul preached to. That’s why Paul said: ‘I have planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase’ (1 Cor 3:16). After Apostle Paul preached to a group of people, he would move on to another group, while leaving people with them who would baptize, disciple and pastor them. Does this mean that if a person is not baptized he will go to hell? No, escaping hell is not the only reason for which we are saved. Through baptism, we die to our old life of sin and are resurrected to the new life of Christ (see Rom 6:3-4). Go into today knowing that the baptisms were given by God to empower us to live the victorious life that brings Him glory and garners us eternal rewards.  -SD Abraham GET AUDIO SERMONS here☞ http://bit.ly/SERmons Yearly Bible Reading: Jeremiah 22-26 (Available in Today’s Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational. Paul wasn’t crucified for you, was he? Or were you in fact baptized in the name of Paul? I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius Further Reading: Acts 18:1-19 A certain missionary took the gospel to a community. He didn’t meet opposition, but he observed that people were not responding to his message because there was a certain mystical ‘prophet’ in that community that the people followed. This prophet was not saved but was one who walked in the way of Balaam. The missionary preached and preached and many were convicted but did not come forward to receive and confess Christ. After the missionary labored in that community for weeks, the mystical ‘prophet’ was convicted and accepted the Lord Jesus and was baptized. When the people in the community heard that their ‘prophet’ had accepted the gospel and was baptized, many of them too believed in Jesus and were baptized. When Paul first took the gospel to Corinth, he stayed there for 18 months, and many of the people in the city believed and were baptized after Crispus the leader of the synagogue believed (see Acts 18:8). Apart from Crispus and some other few people who were Paul’s first converts, Paul did not baptize but only preached. Others did the baptizing.  This was Paul’s biggest point when he rebuked the Corinthians for their divisions. He did not baptize many of them so they couldn’t claim that he baptized them in his name. Since they were all baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, the only name that should be their tag should be Christ, not Paul, Peter or Apollos. Go into today remembering that to be denominationally minded is a sign of spiritual immaturity (see 1 Cor 3:1-3).  -SD Abraham GET AUDIO SERMONS here☞ http://bit.ly/SERmons Yearly Bible Reading: Psalms 48-50 (Available in Today’s Audio) Streamglobe Interdenominational. THE WAKE UP LETTER

1 Corinthians 1:10-11 (NET)  I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to agree together, to end your divisions, and to be united by the same mind and purpose. For members of Chloe’s household have made it clear to me, my brothers and sisters, that there are quarrels among you. Because the Corinthian church grew so rapidly, many of the new members were still babes in the faith. At the time Paul wrote his first letter to them, the church was now dominated by such new believers. Many of them were still carnal, and they manifested works of the flesh like party spirit, quarrels, divisions and the likes. Paul’s first letter to them was a wakeup call, and it brought many of them to repentance. He even had to encourage them in his second letter to them because many of them were so sorrowful and broken (see 2 Cor 2: 4-11) when they realized through his first letter that they were not walking in a way fitting for those who would inherit the kingdom of God (see 1 Cor 6:9-10). One major sign that showed that the Corinthian believers were true believers (even though many of them were still carnal) was the way they responded to the word of God when Paul sent it to them in his first letter. They repented and changed their ways. They did not rationalize and give excuses for their faults. Today, many people claim to believers, and many are still in the process of growing into maturity. One way to discern those who have been truly born again is the way they respond to God’s word. If a person has total disregard for God’s word when it opposes his conduct, it may be a sign that he is not yet truly born again [of water (the word) and the Spirit].  -SD Abraham GET AUDIO SERMONS here☞ http://bit.ly/SERmons Yearly Bible Reading: Psalms 48-50 (Available in Today’s Audio) Streamglobe Interdenominational.
