Receive with Thanksgiving

1 Timothy 4:4-5 (NET) For every creation of God is good and no food is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer. Growing up, we used to drink soya milk and eat other meals made with soy. As we grew older, we were told that soya wasn’t good because it caused infertility issues. I remember we no longer consumed it for some time until much later, some medical experts said soya oil is one of the best oils to consume. Today, I have read several articles that insist that soya oil is one of the most dangerous oils to consume because it messes with certain body hormones. Butter that was said to dangerous is now highly recommended as one of the best oils for daily consumption. Today, there may be many things we consume that may not be good for our bodies, but we do not know. Some may even be consumed because we were told that they are good while they are really not good for the body. For the believer in Christ, we are not under any laws regarding the food we eat. As long as we receive our food with thanksgiving, it would be sanctified and made good for us. It is very important for the believer today to understand and believe this truth so that he would have the required faith to connect with this reality. Many diseases are caused by the wrong diet. Many times, people don’t even know what in their diet is culpable. But for the believer who serves the Lord(as we all should), the Lord promises to bless our food and our water and take sickness and disease from us (see Exodus 23:25). It is an error to make a doctrine out of matters of diet, but it is very easy to fall into this trap and spend more time talking about diet than talking about Jesus. Let’s be careful that we don’t expose ourselves to elemental spirits but live in the liberty that Christ has purchased for us. To the best of your knowledge, eat as healthy as possible, but be careful not to let your trust in Christ’s grace for divine health be replaced with trust in a diet plan. It has been proven time and time again that there is more to life than food…(see Matthew 12:23). Go into today remembering to receive every food set before you with thanksgiving so that it would be sanctified and made good for you. Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the food that You provide. I ask that you give me a thankful heart always, In Jesus’ name. Amen. Want to be saved? The Virus of False Doctrines 2

1 Timothy 4:3-5 (NET) They will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creation of God is good and no food is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer. The reason Sheldon started attending that church where they taught license was because he grew up in one where they taught legalism. In his former church, they were so sin-conscious that they made the people perpetually feel condemned and unaccepted. They went as far as using the old Testament to proscribe certain foods and tag them as sinful. Remember, the believer is not under the law of Moses but under the law of Christ (see 1 Corinthians 9:21, Galatians 6:2). There are two kinds of false doctrines out there. There are those that go on the side of license and the others that go on the side of legalism. Those that go on the side of license are usually laden with sexual immorality and high sounding nonsense. They use the grace of God as a license to continue in iniquity and trivialize sin. The other kind of false doctrines out there are those that go on the side of legalism. They are those who insist on rules and regulations as the way to be right with God. They don’t understand the righteousness of God but seek to establish their own righteousness by their own effort. They are as dangerous or even more dangerous than the license group. They do not walk by faith but by rules and regulations, and because of this, they do not walk in love but in accusations and condemnation. Whenever you see two doctrinal extremes in the body of Christ, the truth is usually in the middle. Even though we are not saved by our works of righteousness, our faith produces in us works of righteousness(James 2:14, Ephesians 2:10). If it doesn’t, then it is not living but dead faith. Whenever you see a teacher always talking about rules and regulations and threatening believers with going hell as a consequence for breaking his laws, be wary. Whenever you see a teacher always talking about the grace that covers sins and never talks about how grace empowers believers to be godly and do what is right, be wary. Go into today remembering that the grace of God teaches people to deny ungodliness and fleshly lusts. Legalism teaches people to set aside the grace of God and rather depend on their ability to keep rules and regulations as the reason why they are saved. Legalism and license are two sides of the same evil coin of false doctrines. Prayer: Father, please guide me from the virus of false doctrines in Jesus’ name. Amen. Want to be saved? The Virus of False Doctrines

1 Timothy 4:1-2 (NET) Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the later times some will desert the faith and occupy themselves with deceiving spirits and demonic teachings, influenced by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared. Sheldon started attending a church in which they said that “sins don’t take people to hellfire, it is refusing to believe in Jesus that takes people to hell”. Even though that statement sounds harmless, it is very dangerous because apart from being an unnecessary statement, it is simply a tool in the quiver of those who teach doctrines that make believers comfortable in besetting sins. Sheldon observed that his love for God started waxing cold as he continued to attend that church. He later discovered that the pastors in that church were very immoral and godless. There are certain doctrines that have become popular in some circles that the first time I heard about them, I found it difficult to understand how believers would actually believe such teachings. The sad fact about what today’s Bible verses reveal is that those who accept these false doctrines would not know that they have denied the faith. They are such who say it is impossible for that to happen. When you see supposed believers following false doctrines and ‘glorying in their shame’, don’t be rattled by their actions but remember that it is one of the signs of the latter times. Go into today remembering that in these latter times, false doctrines would abound. Remember that the fact that a teacher is quoting scriptures does not mean he is saying the truth. When the devil was tempting Jesus, he too was quoting scriptures. Know that any doctrine that directly or indirectly trivializes sin is a false doctrine. Prayer: Father, please guard me against the virus of false doctrines in Jesus’ name. Amen. Want to be saved? Love the Perfect Bond

Beware of scammers! No one in Streamglobe would call you and request any WhatsApp Code or money. Colossians 3:14 (NET) And to all these virtues add love, which is the perfect bond. For the first time in his life, Kayode was truly happy because he felt loved and accepted. In the church, he was loved by people he did not know before. Even though he came from a broken home, he was now a member of an unbreakable family. One thing Christians are to be known for the most is their love for one another. Jesus says: “This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35 (ISV) There is nothing that binds people together like true Christian love. It is powerful, and the devil is powerless against it. Many times, we are generally afraid to love people because love makes us vulnerable. But when we love people for Christ’s sake, it makes us powerful. The easiest way to reap love is to sow love. If your marriage is suffering under forces that seek to break it, begin to sow love like never before. Begin to take out extra time to pray for your spouse. Give your time and resources like never before. Begin to sow love in larger proportions and wait for the bountiful harvest. Love is indeed the perfect bond. It will keep you together. Go into today remembering that the only thing we are to owe people is love (Rom 13:8). Because you are now born again, you have the power to love people. This is the most fruitful manifestation of the divine nature. Lord help me to love the saints with genuine love. Amen. Want to be saved? People of Love

Colossians 3:14 (NET) And to all these virtues add love, which is the perfect bond. When Kayode first believed, he didn’t know how to love people. The only person he had ever loved was himself. His parents did not love him, and no one ever showed him love before he met his roommate who preached to him and led him to Christ. Because he was attending a living Christian fellowship, one of the first things he was taught as a new believer was to love. He was told that he now had the capacity and the ability to love God and love people… You may be asking if it is possible to teach a person to love. Yes. The easiest way is teaching by example. Older women in the church are even to teach younger women to love their husbands and their children (see Titus 2:4). A person who loves will give his time and his resources to the one he loves. For example, It takes love to give your time to pray for someone else. It takes love to inconvenience yourself to give your money to someone who is not you. As children of God, we have been empowered to love. Whether we feel it or not, we now have the power to love people, whether they deserve it or not (remember that God loved us when we did not deserve it). The power of love is the most powerful in the universe. Only those who are born of God have this power to love the way God does (1 John 4:7-8). Go into today remembering that Christians are to be people of love (John 13:35). Prayer: Ask the Lord to make you a person of love. Want to be saved? Our Daily Bread

Beware of scammers! No one in Streamglobe would call you and request any WhatsApp Code or money. Matthew 6:11 (KJV)  Give us this day our daily bread. Because of a new special assignment at work, Harry was going to be traveling frequently. Two weeks before he got the assignment, he saw in a dream that he was involved in a ghastly motor accident. So when this new assignment came, he was greatly troubled because he knew he was going to be traveling a lot by road and by air. He decided to seek the Lord concerning his fears (Psalm 34:4). One morning during this period of seeking the Lord, he woke up with the words of Psalm 121:7-8 in his heart. He continued to confess it. It says “[t]he LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” That was the word of God for Harry in that season(day). Because of this word, his fears were allayed and he became bold and confident that he would be safe from all harm and danger, and that was exactly what happened. He finished that assignment successfully without any accidents and got a huge promotion thereafter. Remember that the Lord is the one who says “man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God'(Matthew 4:4). Our bodies need physical bread to survive, but the bread for our spirits is the living Word of God. When we ask our Heavenly Father to “give us this day our daily bread”, we are not only asking for physical bread for the body, we are also asking for spiritual bread for the inner man.  There is a word from God that can carry us through every season, that is also our daily bread. Go into today remembering that there is a word from Lord for you for every day(season) of your life. Your [spiritual] strength and prosperity depend on it. Prayer: Lord, teach me to wait on you and receive bread to carry me through every season(day) of my life. Amen. Want to be saved? Forgive

Beware of scammers! No one in Streamglobe would call you and request any WhatsApp Code or money. Colossians 3:12-13 (NET) Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with a heart of mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if someone happens to have a complaint against anyone else. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also forgive others. I had a conversation with a man who was trying to prove to me that the teachings of Jesus were for those under the law and not for those who are born again. His biggest point was that Jesus taught that if we do not forgive others who have wronged us, our heavenly Father would not forgive us our trespasses (Matthew 6:15), but the apostles taught Christians to forgive others because they have been forgiven, not so that they will be forgiven. I had to point out to him that what Jesus said was actually meant for those who are already believers because we are the only ones who can come to God as our FATHER. No one comes to the FATHER except through Christ. I showed him from the parable of the unmerciful servant (in Matt 18:21-35) that the unmerciful servant had first received forgiveness from his master before he was expected to forgive the other servant that owed him. His master did not forgive him because he forgave, but he was expected to forgive because he had been forgiven. I went on to explain to him that the only criterium for receiving the forgiveness of God is to believe in Christ Jesus and accept God’s grace which brings forgiveness because of the sacrifice of Christ. If we consistently refuse to forgive others who wrong us, we are proving that we do not appreciate or acknowledge God’s grace in forgiving us. As we walk on the earth, we are going to need cleansing by the blood from time to time (1 John 1:7). We would not receive this cleansing and forgiveness if we refuse to forgive those who have wronged us. Remember that we have to walk in the light in order for the blood of Jesus to cleanse us(1 John 1:7). Refusing to forgive your brother (which is a root of hatred) is how not to walk in the light (see 1 John 2:9). Your Real Identity

Colossians 3:10-11 (NET) …And have been clothed with the new man that is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of the one who created it. Here there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all and in all. When Ada became born again and started attending a Bible-believing Church, she observed that the Igbo women in the church were particularly nice to her when they found out that she was Igbo. They started inviting her to visit them in their homes. She soon realized that they had some kind of union within the church. And that was the case with most of the major languages. As she grew in her walk with the Lord, she noticed that tribalism was in her heart. She somehow knew that this was not right for her, but she did not know how dangerous it was until she read Colossians 3 and noticed that in verse 10-11, being a new man in Christ meant she was no longer to primarily identify herself according to her earthly identity. She saw that seeing herself this way was greatly limiting her spiritually. She found herself limited in her ability to fulfill her ministry because of this. She had to cry to the Lord for help and repent of this mindset. Many believers do not walk in the fullness of their inheritance in Christ because they are still racist or tribalistic. They still primarily see themselves after the flesh and not after the spirit. In the spirit, every believer in Christ Jesus is of one new race. We are all citizens of heaven. And there is neither Jew nor Gentile. No Igbo or Yoruba, no Barbarian or Scythian, no white or black. But Christ is all in all. Walking in the Spirit entails seeing yourself in the Spirit. Go into today remembering that those who only see themselves through their earthly identity will deny themselves the full benefits of their heavenly identity. Thank God because your real identity is in Christ. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Bible Reading: Esther 1-5 (In Devotional Audio) To start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, join our WhatsApp Group here: https://chat.whatsapp.com/F9DRODIaPz0Gav7xvQ705P Streamglobe is interdenominational. Way to Kingdom Greatness

1 Timothy 3:13 (KJV)  For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. After Enyo served as a deaconess in her church for seven months, she realized that her boldness and spiritual might was greatly increased. She now had the ability to cast out demons and walk in the supernatural power of God. She saw that she now had the authority to rebuke sickness and disease. Her children who used to be very sickly were no longer falling sick because of her spiritual cover. Her mother who was dying of diabetes became miraculously healed when Enyo laid her hand on her and prayed for her from the standpoint of her new level of authority. This was not always the case with Enyo. She didn’t have the boldness to walk in her authority as a child of God, but her service as a deacon obtained for her a good degree: a higher level of kingdom authority. Do you notice how much boldness and authority Stephen, Philip and the other deacons appointed in the early church exerted after they were appointed (see Acts 6)?  That is what the office of a deacon does to those who embrace it wholeheartedly and serve diligently. They obtain a good degree and great boldness in the faith. Deacons are primarily ministers in the church who handle physical matters of administration, serving tables, etc. Their job in the church may not look as dignified as that of the elders or bishops, but such selfless service is the fastest way to kingdom greatness. Those who run away from responsibility and work in the church of God are running away from an opportunity to increase their level of spiritual boldness and authority. The advantages of advancing in kingdom greatness transcend time and space, they are eternal. When the kingdom comes, some will inherit thrones while some will suffer loss and be saved as though through fire(see 1 Corinthians 3:13-15). Our promotion in God’s kingdom is determined by our faithfulness to kingdom service. Go into today remembering that the way to eternal greatness is service in the kingdom of God. Prayer: Lord, please give me the strength to serve you acceptably. Amen. Want to be saved? Expose Evil

Ephesians 5:11(NIV) Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them Todd met Raphael during his personal evangelism and the following conversation ensued: Todd: Good morning brother Raphael. Raphael: don’t call me brother, I’m not falling for that church thing. Todd: why, aren’t you a believer? Raphael: yes, but I don’t want anything to do with Church, after all, it makes no difference. Todd was really surprised at Raphael’s responses so he pressed on by asking other questions. He eventually found out that Raphael had become hardened because of the kind of ‘Christians’ around him. Raphael’s friends were all ‘born again Christians’, but they clubbed, drank, smoked and did other ungodly things together. So for Raphael, being born again made no difference. The case of Raphael’s friends may be considered extreme, but there are milder cases where believers condone sinful acts around them even when they will not be a part of it themselves, and because they do not condemn but accommodate such acts, they cannot live as light in that environment. Today’s text not only tells us to have nothing to do with the deeds of darkness, it tells us to expose them. As long as darkness is not confronted by light, darkness will continue to rule. Go into today making up your mind to have nothing to do with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather expose them. Prayer: Lord, help me to always shine as light. Amen. Want to be saved?
