Comprehending His love
Ephesians 3:17-19 (NET) that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, so that, because you have been rooted and grounded in love, you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. When Dara was a little boy, he was too young to truly understand what love meant. He felt his parents loved him when they bought him nice things and hated him when they disciplined him. It took a level of growth and maturity for Dara to realize that even the times his father disciplined him, it was born out of genuine love. He saw the way other children who were not disciplined turned out, and he doubted whether their parents truly loved them the way his parents loved him. Because he was loved as a little child, he also could love his children easily. It is a true saying that: those who have never experienced love would have a hard time expressing love. From today’s scripture, we can see that the prerequisite for being filled with the fullness of God is a comprehension (or an understanding) of His love. One of the fruits this understanding produces is love for God, and this love would manifest in obedience to Him (See John 14:15, 1John 2:3-5, John 14:21-24). 1 John 4:19 says “we love Him because he first loved us”. Our comprehension of the depth of love the Lord has for us would produce a response of love in us towards Him and towards other people He loves. This love will manifest in the way we treat our friends, neighbors, and even our enemies. For indeed, we would remember that while we were still enemies of God, Christ loved us and gave his life for us. Understanding the Love the Lord has for us is the key that opens up our hearts to deeper fellowship with Him because of trust and faith in Him. It is a true saying that: the deeper you trust a person, the deeper your fellowship would be with that person. Go into today thanking the Lord for the great love with which he has loved you. Ask that the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened so you may comprehend His love more and as a result, your capacity to be filled with His presence and power would be enlarged. Confession: I live a life that demonstrates God’s love. My life is filled with the fullness of God, In Jesus’ name. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Psalms 84-86 5 (in today’s audio) If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/EJWywFxcri6I6wxxKRN5er Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) http://listen.streamglobe.org/Devotional%20Audio%202618.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

Not the Spirit of Fear
2 Tim 1:7(KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Tara received a message on WhatsApp that ended with a threat. It said if she failed to share the message with six of her contacts within six hours of reading it, something bad was going to happen to her within days. But if she shared the message, something good was going to happen to her . The message went on to tell stories of how good things have happened to people who shared it, and how very bad things happened to people who didn’t. Interestingly enough, she read the message in the night after her internet data ran out, and could not recharge that night. Tara’s day was disorganized because she was afraid of the threat in the message since she could not share it. Anyone claiming to be sharing the word of God, but threatening people to share it is not doing so by the spirit of God. That is the way witchcraft works. It uses fear, intimidation and manipulation, to make people do things they normally wouldn’t want to do. Do not open the door of fear in your life by sharing any such message. People do not receive blessings from God because they clicked ‘like’ on a Facebook post or shared a message. People receive blessings from God because of their faith in God and obedience to His word (see Psalm 1). It is interesting how some Christians can read messages created by a con artist and believe every word of it, but fail to believe every word of God that have spoken good concerning them. Go into today remembering that God’s Word is the most powerful word in the universe and it says good concerning you. Read it, believe it, and share it in love. -Pst. Living By Faith
Hebrews 11:5-6 (KJV) By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Arielle lived a dirty life as a call girl who did drugs, wild parties, and other terrible things. Her neighbor had preached to her about putting her faith in God but she mocked her saying “oh! What do you know about faith? I have more faith than you that’s why I have all my needs met. Or have you forgotten how I was healed of HIV last month in the crusade you invited me to? What did you get from that crusade? Nothing I guess. You see, I have more faith than you already”. Sometime later, in another crusade, Arielle truly accepted the Lord Jesus, and it was after this that she discovered that there was more to faith than she had earlier known. Faith is the power given to you by God to live a life that pleases Him. When you are living to please God, you will love what He loves and hate what He hates. Simply put, you will do God’s will. The prayers prayed by one who lives like this will be answered because he is in the will of God (John 15:7, 1 John 5:14). There is a kind of faith that helps us to get things from God but much better is the faith that helps us to live lives pleasing to God. The former is aimed at bringing us to the place where we find the latter, thus the ultimate aim of faith is to help us please God, not just to get things from Him. If you desire intimacy with God, you must learn to please Him and this is only possible by faith. It is those who please Him that are His friends (read Mark 3:35) who will reign with Him. Prayer: Lord, help my faith grow to the point that I walk in a manner that pleases you continually. Wait Until the Lord Comes
1 Corinthians 4:5 (NET) So then, do not judge anything before the time. Wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the motives of hearts. Then each will receive recognition from God. Chinonye received the Lord Jesus when she was a teenager and had grown to know the Lord. Because of this, she responded differently to situations she came across in life. Her colleagues in the office wondered why she was so calm and collected and so easily willing to forgive wicked offenders and overlook the most grievous trespasses against her. She tried to explain to them that even though people may escape human judgment on this earth, no one was going to escape God’s judgment on the Day of Judgment. Because of this understanding, she didn’t try to revenge because she knew God was going to judge. The eternal judgment didn’t look like a time too long to wait for her because she knew she had eternal life and now had the proper perspective of time.We can see from scripture that there are times that the spirit of judgment could come upon believers, as willed by the Lord, and they would proclaim judgment against the Lord’s enemies (see Acts 13:11). But it has to be a result of the Lord’s leading, not a result of the fleshly desire to get vengeance. Sometimes, because they wanted their vengeance instantly, believers have used their spiritual power to destroy people that would have later been a blessing to them and to the world. There probably would be no ‘Apostle Paul’ if Stephen had used his authority to pray down judgment on those responsible for his execution (see Acts 7:58-60). Go into today meditating on this: Romans 12:19 (NIV): Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. Prayer: Lord, help me to live with eternity in view and live before you accurately. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Colossians 1-2 (in today’s audio) If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/EJWywFxcri6I6wxxKRN5er Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too)Join our Daily Zoom Bible Study. 2pm-3pm(WAT) Everyday except Sundays. The Boundaries Of Faith
Matthew 21:21 (NET) ”Jesus answered them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.” It was only about two weeks after Fred said the sinner’s prayer and handed over the control of his life to Jesus Christ that he began to study the Bible, practice what he studied, and pray. This undoubtedly caused a rapid turnaround in his life but he would soon make an all-time discovery. This happened when he read today’s text in one of such study sessions and wanting to put what he had read to practice, he located a nearby mountain and commanded it to move but it did not, then he walked to a nearby tree and commanded it to dry up but this also did not happen. In his disappointment, he whispered, “but I had faith and I had no doubt in me, why didn’t it happen with me like it happened with Jesus? Didn’t Jesus say mountain will move when I speak to it in faith without doubting what I’ve said? Why didn’t I get the promised result?”. Although disappointed, he, however, continued studying, praying, and practicing what he had learned from the Bible with the hope that he will get an answer for what happened. What do you think happened to Fred? Why did he not get the desired results? Apostle John by the Holy Spirit said, “this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him” (1 John 5:14-15). You see, faith does not make any and everything thing you want to happen, instead, it gives you anything you want that is captured within the will of God for you. So, the reason the mountain did not move when Fred commanded it to is because that action was not the will of God. The Apostles for instance never asked a mountain to move or curse a tree to dry up because those were not captured in the will of God for them even though they saw Jesus curse a tree and heard his words about moving mountains. Like the Apostles, you also must make every effort to know the will of God and learn to pray only His will as this will give you better results for your prayers. Go into today knowing that your faith is effective only to the degree to which it agrees with the will of God. —Dr. Emmanuel James Bible in 1 Year: Luke 17-18 (in today’s audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. A Life that Counts
Psalms 68:11 (KJV) The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. In the city where I grew up, there are burial grounds of European missionaries who died while preaching the gospel in Africa. Those missionaries died and were buried in the land because they came to preach the gospel. Some of these missionaries attended the best universities like Harvard and Oxford, but they saw a higher call and were willing to give their lives for it. Today, many in Africa are believers because of their sacrifice. Many lives have been physically and eternally spared because of their sacrifice. I can still remember the story of how a missionary called Mary Slessor was the one the Lord used to end the ritual killing of infant twins in the southernmost part of Nigeria. When I look at many believers today, I have a great concern in my heart, because the emphasis and pursuits of many believers are for vain things. Believers who love their lives too much (and love the world) cannot effectively pass the light of the gospel to the next generation (see John 12:25, Revelation 12:11, 1 John 2:15). When the gospel was first preached [in Jerusalem], it was by a handful of people who were willing to give it all (both those on the frontline of apostolic missions and those who gave their resources to send them). Today, over two billion people on earth are called Christians, and many millions have come to know the Lord personally. But this didn’t happen without a great company of people intentionally committed to spreading God’s word. Even in the 19th century when there was a great missionary movement, and many parts of Africa evangelized, there were still some believers who loved the world too much and didn’t want to inconvenience themselves for the gospel, but there were those who considered the Kingdom as the most important thing in their lives. All the believers in that generation are now physically dead, but some of them have crowns and eternal rewards stored up for them (2 Timothy 4:8), while some others would be ashamed before the Lord (1 John 2:28). Even though the people from that generation are no more in this world, they are still very much alive and conscious, and some are in joy while others are in eternal sorrow and damnation. Go into today determining to be among the company of those who publish the word of the Lord in your generation. A life that counts is one committed to spreading The Kingdom. Prayer: Lord, help me live a life that counts in your eternal scheme of things. Help me fulfill my part in what you are doing in my generation. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Want to be saved? What is Lawlessness?
1 John 3:4 (NET) Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; indeed, sin is lawlessness. The reason why the physical phenomenon called gravity is rightfully called the law of gravity is that it is a constant phenomenon guiding the physical order of things. Without the existence of gravity, there wouldn’t be the space-time continuum, and life on earth would be physically impossible. Anyone who chooses to violate the law of gravity does so at his own peril. He is lawless in the physical context. Such a person would most likely suffer physical death or great harm. A good example is if someone chooses to jump out of a flying plane without wearing a parachute. There is a law guiding life in the spirit realm too. Sin is a violation of this law of life. If a Christian chooses to live in sin, he is like the person who jumps out of a flying plane. Even though by the superior divine law of life in Christ Jesus, he received the power to overcome the (spiritually natural) law of sin and death, if he chooses to live in sin again, he is transgressing the law of life and falling out to be a victim of the law of sin and death again. In the new covenant, God does not just instruct us to be righteous; He empowers us to walk righteously. He empowers us to be Holy by giving us the Holy Spirit. We take advantage of God’s empowerment by yielding to the Holy Spirit and guiding our lives according to God’s word. Go into today determining to yield to the Holy Spirit and live your life according to God’s word. Yielding to the Holy Spirit becomes possible when you are conscious of His presence continually. Ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit. Ask the Lord to help you to always be conscious of the Holy Spirit’s presence within you. —Abraham Dami Arigi Bible in 1 year:Psalms 78-80 (in today’s audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. He Loved Much
Luke 7:47 (NET) Therefore I tell you, her sins, which were many, are forgiven, thus she loved much; but the one who is forgiven little loves little.” Kunle was a drug addict who had committed so many terrible crimes that he had lost count. He had resigned to the fate that he was irredeemable and would spend eternity paying for his many sins. When someone told him that his sins could be forgiven, he found it very difficult to believe. But when he settled down to understand the gospel message and saw a movie that showed how Jesus suffered for our sins, he now believed that his sins could be forgiven. The suffering he saw Jesus go through was more than enough punishment for any sin he had committed. As he watched the movie, he wept because he knew that what Jesus went through was for him. Two years after believing in the Lord Jesus, Kunle was now doing exploits for the Lord and healing the sick. Even the people who led him to the Lord were amazed at his growth and diligence in serving the Lord because he was laboring more than them. Kunle loved the Lord so much because he realized that he had been forgiven of so many sins. Apostle Paul was also someone who was so grateful for the price Jesus paid that his love for the Lord was remarkable. He considered himself to be the worst of sinners before the Lord saved him(see 1 Timothy 1:15), so he felt a depth of gratitude and love that made him labor more than all the other apostles(see 1 Corinthians 15:10). The truth is that we don’t need to have had a rough past in order for us to realize that we have been forgiven much and therefore we ought to love much. What we need is a revelation of the holiness of God, then like Isaiah who cried out that he was unclean (see Isaiah 6:1-5), we would realize that the best we were before the Lord saved us was more repulsive than filthy smelly rags, and we all have been forgiven of many sins.Go into today knowing that what we were because of our sinful nature was more repulsive than the things we did. For the most innocent of us, Jesus would have still had to die that gruesome death because of the heinousness of the sinful nature that we all shared. Prayer: Lord, deliver me from the delusion of self-righteousness. Help me realize that I too was forgiven of many sins and I owe a debt of love and gratitude that one lifetime cannot finish paying for. —Abraham Dami Arigi Bible in 1 year: II Kings 1-5 (in today’s audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. Redeemed From Curses
Galatians 3:13-14 (NET) Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (because it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”) in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles, so that we could receive the promise of the Spirit by faith. It is written that curse causeless shall not come(see Proverbs 26:2). In order for any curse to alight on an individual, there has to be a cause. In order for any curse to alight on a human being created in the image and likeness of God, there had to be a transgression of the law of God, whether knowingly or unknowingly. This transgression would serve as the cause for the curse. If you look at today’s verses in context, you will see that the people it was originally written to were Gentile(non-Jewish) believers. One would wonder why the curse of the law is talked about to them since they as Gentiles didn’t know the law of God and so would not even know about the curse of the law, but the truth is that everyone that sins transgresses the law of God, whether Jew or Gentile and because the law of God is universal, everyone who transgresses it is open to curses. This is the reason why curses reigned among the Gentiles. Remember that the only people Balaam(who was an expert in curses) couldn’t curse were the Jews when they were keeping the law of God. There was no cause so no curse could alight on them. Because the Jews had the law of God, if they kept it, they were going to walk in such a way that curses would not be able to alight on them. The last part of today’s Bible verses is what particularly excites me. The proof that a Gentile has received the blessing of Abraham is that he would receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. If God could give you His Holy Spirit, what else has He not given you? Because the blessing is spiritual, it can only be appropriated by faith. An average Jew believes that he is blessed and not cursed. He believes that he is spiritually free and not bound(see John 8:33), and it works for them. This should be more so for the believer who has received the gift of the Holy Spirit, but if, unlike the Jews, a believer does not believe that he is blessed, it may be as if he is not blessed. He may even begin to envy the unbelieving Jew who walks in the shadow of what he has in Christ. Remember that it is what you believe that you will receive. Go into today remembering that the proof that you have received the full version of the blessing of Abraham is that you have received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Go into the world with a blessed man’s mentality. Prayer: Lord, help me appropriate the fulness of my blessing in you through faith. Deliver me from every unbelief and contrary belief.
