After Chinonso failed the same examination two consecutive times, he got tired of life. Even though he was a Christian who had been baptized in the Holy Ghost, he contemplated giving up [on God]. The next opportunity to rewrite the exam would be his last chance. It was at this time of depression that he found the scripture verse(Ps 84:7) that says “they go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God”. He responded to this light by choosing a specific time and place where he would stay in God’s presence(appear before God) each day through prayer and the word. Even though he couldn’t pray sometimes, he remained there in his place of prayer, waiting on God. Chinonso passed the examination with flying colors the next time he took it. He could only attribute his resounding success this time to the strength he had received by daily waiting on the Lord. The word of God reveals the truth that makes people free (John 8:31-32). Many have the Bible and have memorized some of it but are not free. This is because the word has not been revealed to them as the truth. The day you find the truth, it will make you free. The way to know that what you have is the truth is through the freedom that accompanies it. Those who walk in the truth of God’s word cannot walk anymore in bondage (to sin or any demonic limitation). You can have the letter of scripture as memory verses and quote them fluently, but if you are not free because of them, you have not really met with the truth. Ask the Lord to open your eyes to His light (the truth) for you for this season and help you appropriate the full benefits of your freedom and riches in Christ. This is the secret of a victorious Christian life. Know that when the truth comes, it changes your mind and influences your conduct. —Dr. Emmanuel James Bible in 1 Year: Proverbs 10 (in today’s audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational. Lora was born into a Christian family. Her grandparents were missionaries and her parents were very committed church leaders in their community. When her elder and younger sister were baptized in the Holy Spirit and started speaking in tongues, she was there but didn’t receive the Holy Ghost. She always felt far away from God and she would blame herself for this. She believed she was more sinful than anyone in her family and that was why God wasn’t interested in her. She was wrong. When she moved to the city for college, she started keeping company with certain hip girls who were godless to the core. Many years passed and Lora had lived a godless hollow life. One Thursday morning, she remembered the peace and love in the home she grew up in and longed to have just a little of that in her own home. Lora felt so far away from the Lord that she did not know if He was still interested in saving her. She was watching Christian television that morning when she heard the preacher reading from today’s Bible verses. She burst into tears because the verse spoke directly to her. “Jesus is interested in people like me who are far away too” she exclaimed. That day was the day Lora accepted Christ as her Lord and savior. She received the baptism of the Holy Spirit that same day. The Jews who were near to God and the Gentiles who were far away both needed reconciliation with God. No matter how far a person might seem from God, or no matter how close to God a person might seem because of piety and moral uprightness, they need the gospel of Christ in order to be reconciled with God. Are you feeling far away from God today because of your personal failings? Its time to be reconciled to God. God is more interested in being reconciled with you than you want to be reconciled with Him. Go into today remembering that Christ will in no wise cast away they that come to the Father through Him (see John 6:37). Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your sacrifice that is the bases of my reconciliation with the Father. Father, please help me know you and live always in the consciousness of your love and grace. The Testimonies of God

Psalm 119:1-3 (KJV) Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. When Clara got into university, she was very young and quite naïve, but she knew the Lord and how to hear from Him. One evening she was praying, it became very clear to her from the Lord that she was never to attend any parties on that campus. As a new student who was very beautiful, she got so many invitations to all kinds of parties. There were birthday parties, welcome parties, departmental parties, etc. One young man who was in her department had been trying to date her, but she refused. He was a bad boy. He found out about her birthday and planned a birthday party for her in his apartment. Unknown to Clara, he and his friends had planned to drug her food and rape her after the party. Clara bluntly refused to attend her own birthday party because she had earlier received instruction from the Lord never to attend parties. She was saved from the evil plot of those boys because she kept the testimony of the Lord. The testimonies of God are personalized instructions from God given to you to guide your life. They may not apply the same way to other people, but for you, breaking them is disobedience. When God instructed that Samson was never to cut his hair, that was a testimony of God for Him. That was his secret of overcoming in life. Go into today knowing that as you walk with the Lord, you will receive testimonies that will be your secret of overcoming (see Rev 12:11). —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: II Kings 6-10 Streamglobe is Interdenominational. The Glory that Shall be Revealed

Romans 8:18-19 (KJV) For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. Have you ever seen a parked car grow newer with time? In this old creation, things grow older, not newer. Things naturally gravitate towards disorder not order. That is a result of the curse of corruption. But so great is the glory that would be revealed in us (who believe) that it would lead to the liberation of all creation from the curse of corruption. The curse of corruption is what makes things grow old and worn. But when our glory is revealed in the resurrection,  all of creation will be set free from the curse of corruption (see Romans 8:21). Ignorance concerning who we are and what we are in Christ is the reason some believers are profane like Esau; trading their priceless eternal inheritance[of rewards] for temporary trappings of this world. Go into today remembering that all creation awaits the manifestation of your glory. Even now,  by the Spirit, we get to walk in the foretaste of this reality. We are God’s light in this dark world(see Isaiah 60:1-2, Matthew 5:16). Prayer: Ask the Lord to multiply within you the grace to shine in light in this dark world and live in the hope of His calling. Wait Until the Lord Comes

1 Corinthians 4:5 (NET) So then, do not judge anything before the time. Wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the motives of hearts. Then each will receive recognition from God. Chinonye received the Lord Jesus when she was a teenager and had grown to know the Lord. Because of this, she responded differently to situations she came across in life. Her colleagues in the office wondered why she was so calm and collected and so easily willing to forgive wicked offenders and overlook the most grievous trespasses against her. She tried to explain to them that even though people may escape human judgment on this earth, no one was going to escape God’s judgment on the Day of Judgment. Because of this understanding, she didn’t try to revenge because she knew God was going to judge. Eternal judgment didn’t look like a time too long to wait for her because she knew she had eternal life and now had the proper perspective of time. We can see from scripture that there are times that the spirit of judgment could come upon believers, as willed by the Lord, and they would proclaim judgment against the Lord’s enemies (see Acts 13:11). But it has to be a result of the Lord’s leading, not a result of the fleshly desire to get vengeance. Sometimes, because they wanted their vengeance instantly, believers have used their spiritual power to destroy people that would have later been a blessing to them and to the world. There probably would be no ‘Apostle Paul’ if Stephen had used his authority to pray down judgment on those responsible for his execution (see Acts 7:58-60). Go into today meditating on this: Romans 12:19 (NIV): Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. Prayer: Lord, help me to live with eternity in view and live before you accurately. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Colossians 1-2 (in today’s audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational. Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together. Be Anxious for Nothing

Phillipians 4.6 (ESV) Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. After God had given the promise of an heir to Abram, Sarai his wife in anxiety counseled him to have Hagar her maid for a wife (Genesis 16). Sarai worried about her obvious state of barrenness, her age, and her husband’s. Her worries were legitimate; she was obviously barren, her husband was already 85 years old and she had gone past the age of bearing herself; she was 75 years old. Abram consented to his wife’s counsel and Ismael; a wild man whose hand will be against every man and upon whom every man’s hand shall be against was the result (Genesis 16:12). Like Sarai, do you have legitimate reasons to worry? Obviously, yes! Why then should God expect that you do not worry when He knows that you have obvious reasons to worry? He expects you to trust Him. A father will be proud when his child in the midst of other children shows that he is dependable. You also will make God proud when even in the face of seemingly impossible situations, you choose to depend on Him by refusing to be anxious or worried. Know that whenever you worry as a child of God, you are actually doubting God and if that worry is not quickly arrested, your actions will end up confessing that God is incapable of helping you. Note also that decisions made out of anxiety and fear will never glorify God, they will most likely produce an ‘Ismael’. How then should one handle anxiety or worry? Apostle Peter says it is by casting all your cares upon him (the Lord); for he careth for you (1 Peter 5:7). Note the use of the word ‘casting’. it shows a present and continuous duty. You will have to continually cast your cares upon the Lord, else, you will be anxious. We do this in the place of prayer. Every time anxiety seems to rise, pray about the matter until the peace of God replaces the anxiety in your heart( see Phillipians 4:6). Go into today knowing that no anxiety or worry is from God, and getting anxious or worried is an indication that there is a care that you’re yet to cast upon the Lord. Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to always cast my cares upon you and make you proud by living free of all anxieties. Amen! Is The Law Now Useless?

Galatians 3:23-25 (NLT) Until faith in Christ was shown to us as the way of becoming right with God, we were guarded by the law. We were kept in protective custody, so to speak, until we could put our faith in the coming Savior. Let me put it another way. The law was our guardian and teacher to lead us until Christ came. So now, through faith in Christ, we are made right with God. But now that faith in Christ has come, we no longer need the law as our guardian. When Scholar tried to correct her friend Jane, Jane responded, ” Eh! Eh! I’m no longer under the law, I’m now under grace”. Scholar had noticed that Jane’s craving for money was going out of hand, so she tried to call her notice to it, but Jane refused her warning. Jane eventually entered into a relationship with a very rich man who was a drug dealer. Although aware of this man’s source of income, Jane’s love for money blinded her eyes. She became pregnant for him and felt it was okay since money was flowing her way. The man was arrested eventually tried and found guilty for murder. His property was confiscated and he sentenced to death. Jane was left with nothing as the baby mama of a disgraced murderer. Jane returned to Scholar ashamed and full of regrets, but by the help of the Holy Spirit, she was taken through a process of recovery. Without the law, it was impossible to judge sin. It was the law that showed how sinful sin truly is. Romans 7:7 (NLT) Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is evil? Of course not! The law is not sinful, but it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, “Do not covet.” The law shows us our wretchedness and helplessness, this in turn causes us to seek help. In the Old Testament, this help came through sacrifices but in the New Testament, it has come eternally in Jesus Christ. If a man must know the true worth of Jesus’ sacrifice, he must know how lost, wretched, and helpless he is without Jesus. The law is the agency that makes this possible. It is after identifying your helplessness that you can cry out for mercy, then mercy leads you to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16) where you will meet with the one who sits on the throne, even Christ Jesus. Go into today understanding that the law will never lose its relevance as long as there is a single soul who is unsaved or as long as sin exists. Prayer: Lord Jesus, I want to enjoy your mercy and grace. Please open my eyes to behold wondrous things out of your law. Not Worthy To Be Compared

Romans 8:18 (KJV) For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. If you think about who God is and all His has, it is simply too awesome for our 1.5kg brain to fully comprehend. Yet, we are going to inherit all that belongs to God as heirs of God through Christ Jesus(Romans 8:7, Revelation 21:7). What we know is that we shall be as He is because we shall see Him face to face(1 John 3:2). We shall rule and reign with Him and even judge the angels(see 1 Corinthians 6:3). We shall inherit all things (Revelation 21:7). Even though we know that it is those who live for Christ and [are willing to] suffer for Him that would be counted worthy to reign with Him in glory, it is foolishness to think that our suffering for Him is able to earn us our eternal glory. The sufferings of this present time cannot be compared to the glory. If we suffered for Christ to the point of death in one billion lifetimes, it still wouldn’t be sufficient to earn the glory that we would receive. God is not interested in our suffering, He is interested in our faithfulness. It is just that being faithful to Him would require denial of the flesh and may incur persecution from those still controlled by the Prince of this present world who is an enemy of Christ. As you are reading this Devotional today, many of our brethren in Pakistan, parts of India, and the Middle East are experiencing great persecution because of their faith in Christ. Many in the middle east are even denied passports so that they cannot get visas to flee their countries where they are being persecuted for their faith. Even in certain parts of northern Nigeria today, believers who are qualified for promotion in public service are denied a promotion because they are believers. Qualified students are denied admission into government-owned subsidized tertiary institutions because they have Christian names. We can go on and on, but the point is this: those who would not deny the faith because of worldly pressures are proving that they are faithful in the little, and much more would be given to them (Luke 16:10-12). They would rule and reign with the Lord in the eternal kingdom that is coming to sweep away every other kingdom in this earth. Go into today asking the Lord for the grace to be faithful to Him in the face of pressures. Prayer: Dear Lord, please help to be faithful to you until the end. Please help me to not miss my eternal reward but reign with you in glory on that day. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Proverbs 8-9 (in today’s audio)  Streamglobe is Interdenominational. Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together. Being His Witness Requires Power

Acts 1:8 (KJV) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Ray could not keep silent, he spoke to all his friends and everyone around him about his new life in Christ. He used to be addicted to drugs, gambling, and sexual immorality. His family had given up on him after sending him several times to the rehab. His weaknesses and addictions were now overpowered by this new power he encountered. Ray had received Jesus into his life after attending a crusade. He went on to be baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that delivered him and moved him to speak to others about Jesus. But after some time, Ray observed that his zeal had started to wane. This got him really bordered. Wanting to know why this was happening, he chose to pray for hours in tongues consistently for many days. After continuing in this discipline for several days, he observed that his zeal was restored. He also observed that he could now manifest some spiritual gifts.   After this experience, Ray understood that it takes power to live the life of a witness unto Christ. He also now knew that one way to access this power of the Holy Ghost is by giving one’s self to lengthy and consistent prayer in the spirit(in tongues). Many believers no longer have exciting personal moments with the Lord. Their most exciting moment was at the point of receiving Christ or when they got baptized in the Holy Ghost. So after many years pass, they find that they have not been able to be effective witnesses; they now only derive their sense of fulfillment from activities. They are seen as active in Church but their lives are a contradiction of what they profess when you get closer to them. Because of this, their wives/children, friends, and associates are rebellious and are indifferent toward the Lord. If this describes you, what you need is the power of the Holy Ghost. It is by His strength that you are empowered to live a consecrated and powerful life (Philippians 2:13). If you have never been baptized in the Holy Ghost, ask for it. And if you have been baptized, ask God to fill you again (Acts 4:31). Go into today remembering that it takes power to be an effective witness unto Christ. The way to appropriate this power is by praying consistently in the spirit (tongues) (Jude 1:20). Prayer: Ask the Lord to quicken you to pray as you ought to pray. —Dr. Emmanuel James Bible in 1 Year: Psalms 78-80 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational. Servants of Christ

1 Corinthians 4:2 (NET) Now what is sought in stewards is that one be found faithful. When it became clear to Eze that he too was a servant (minister) of Christ, he became more faithful to the Lord; he was now more committed to soul-winning and discipleship, was now faithful in the way he handled his money, was now committed to the ministry of the word and prayer, and was now accountable to his brethren. Many believers are not as faithful as they can be because they do not know that they too are servants of Christ. They think it is only their pastors that are servants of Christ. But the Bible makes it clear that all believers are ministers –servants of God (see Eph 4:12, 2 Cor 5:18). While children in a household are still babies, they are unable to serve in any capacity. But as they grow up, they are able to serve and handle responsibility in the family. As they further grow, a point will come that their father will feel comfortable to let them handle the family business. God wants you to handle great power in the kingdom, but it is required that you be found faithful. One of the more popular Bible verses today is from Isaiah 54:17, it says: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,’ Says the Lord”. This promise is actually meant for the servants of the Lord and every believer should be one. But how many really serve the Lord? Go into today remembering that as a son in the household of God, you are expected to serve the Lord in faithfulness. As you meditate on ways you can become more active in serving the Lord, ask Him to empower you to this end. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: II Kings 1-5 Streamglobe is Interdenominational.
