TOPIC: PRAYER   BIBLE TEXT: Ephesians 6:18 (AMPC) Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).   INTRODUCTION Prayer is one of our most important spiritual disciplines as believers. It is important that we don’t just know what prayer is and how to pray, but that we know the different kinds of prayers and how to apply them. Some situations would require confessions of faith, while some others would require supplication to God. Some problems may require that you speak to them(Mark 11:23), while some others would require that you speak to the Lord about it(2 Corinthians 12:8-9). Knowing and understanding these would help us be more effective in prayers and be more fruitful as servants of God.     DISCUSSIONS   1) What is prayer   2) Mention the types of prayer: I) Ephesians 6:18 II) James 5:15 III) Mark 11:23 IV) 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 V) Ephesians 3:14-16 VI)Luke 22:41-43     3) Why do people find it difficult to pray? Matthew 26:41   4) What is the solution to this problem? Psalm 80:18, Romans 8:13   5) What are the benefits of prayer? James 5:16, Mark 11:24, Matthew 26:41   6) How often should we pray? 1 Thessalonians 5:16, Psalm 55:17, Psalm 92:1-2   7) Refer to No2 above. When and how do we apply different kinds of prayers?   8) What does it mean to pray in the spirit? Jude 1:29, Ephesians 6:18, 1 Corinthians 14:15, Romans 8:15   9) How/why do people pray amiss? James 4:3, 1 John 3:22, 1 John 5:14, James 1:6-7, Psalm 66:18     CONCLUSION We see from scripture that we should be people of prayer, and we also see in scripture that we can pray amiss. Who is praying and why he is praying is more important than what is being said in prayer. Prayer is not just about making requests to God, it is about communing with our heaven Father.   — Bible study holds everyday on zoom except Sundays.     TOPIC: SERVING THE LORD   Bible Text/Memory verse Exodus 23:25 (KJV) And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.     *INTRODUCTION* Many of the promises of God are for those who know and serve him. It is important that we understand what it means to serve the Lord and how to serve Him acceptably. We serve the Lord not just because we want to stand on His promises but because we love Him and want to please Him.   This Bible Study will help us more closely examine what it means to serve the Lord and how to serve the Lord acceptably.   *DISCUSSIONS 1 What does it mean to serve the Lord?   2 How do we begin to serve the Lord? (John 6:28-29)   3 Mention some benefits of serving the Lord: 3a: Divine health and healing: Exodus 23:25   3b: Freedom from demonic attacks and curses Isaiah 54:17   3c: Extra mercy from the Lord Malachi 3:17   3d: Eternal rewards and thrones: Revelation 22:12, Isaiah 62:11, I Corinthians 3:14 3d1: What are the implications of eternal rewards for both now and for the eternal future?   4) What is the attitude of service that is acceptable to the Lord? (Psalm 100:2, 1 Corinthians 4:2)   5) How can we identify our specific kingdom assignments as sons of God? (Romans 11:29, Jeremiah 20:9)   6) What are the consequences of not serving God acceptably? 1 Corinthians 3:15.   7) How do we know if we are serving God acceptably? (2 Timothy 3:16, Colossians 3:17, Colossians 3:14, 1 Corinthians 12:1-3)   *CONCLUSION* Serving God in this world is one of the biggest opportunities and privileges we have as human beings. Not just in this life but in the life to come do benefits abound for those who serve the Lord acceptably.   — Bible Study holds every day except Sundays.   TIME: 2:00pm(Lagos GMT +1), 1pm(Accra), 2pm(London), 4pm(Nairobi), 3pm(Johannesburg), 6:30pm(Mumbai), 9am(New York)   ZOOM Meeting ID: 536206651   or open this link with ZOOM: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/536206651

How do one sin willfully?

Hebrews 10:26-27 (KJV) For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. According to Merriam Webster Dictionary ‘willful’ is, ‘‘refusing to change your ideas or opinions or to stop doing something’’ while to refuse is, ‘‘to say that you will not accept”. Sinning willfully, therefore, is refusing to stop sinning even when you know it to be a sin; you continue in it not because you can not stop but because you chose to continue. Judas Iscariot for instance was not forced to betray Jesus, he did it willfully in the same manner that Adam disobeyed God. His unbridled love of money gave room for the devil to enter him. He was a thief who refused to repent even when a disciple of the Lord Jesus. In Matt 17:22, Jesus told his disciples that he will be betrayed, yet after hearing this Judas still sought an opportunity to betray him (Matt 26:16). In Matt 26:21, Jesus again said, ‘‘one of you will betray me’’ and in Matt 26:23, Jesus said, “He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me”. But in spite of all these, Judas Iscariot’s mind was made up to betray Jesus. Even at the very last minute, Jesus gave him another opportunity to repent when he said ‘‘Judas, would you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?” (Luke 22:48), even at this, Judas Iscariot refused to change and would not stop the evil he had planned. Just like it happened with Adam, Judas was banished out of the presence of God. Unfortunately, unlike Adam, Judas killed himself without repenting. This is exactly what today’s text is saying: when you willfully refuse all the chances given to you by God to repent, you are walking on the path leading to destruction. Hebrews 2:3 (KJV) ‘‘How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him”. Thank God for all the opportunities he has given you to turn away from your sins. Examine yourself and receive the help of the Holy Spirit to willfully turn away from sin today. Prayer: confess all the sins for which the Holy Spirit has convicted you, forsake them, and receive the forgiveness of God. Want to be saved? TOPIC: THE BLESSED MAN Bible Text: Psalms 1:1-3 (KJV) 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. INTRODUCTION We who have believed in the Lord Jesus and abide in Him are blessed with all spiritual blessing in heavenly places because we are members of the body of Christ (See Ephesians 1:3). Because our blessings are in heavenly places, it is important for us to know how to walk in such a way that these blessings find expression in our daily lives on the earth. For example, in the same book of Ephesians that informs us that we have been blessed with all spiritual blessings, we see that in order for us to walk in the dimension of the blessing that makes for good days and long life, we are to honor our fathers and mothers (See Ephesians 6:1-2). This study will help us examine the spiritual posture that makes for the appropriation of the blessing we have in Christ. DISCUSSIONS 1 Define the blessing(Genesis 1:22,28, Genesis 9:1, Genesis 12:3-4, Galatians 3:13-14) 2 Who receives the blessing? (Galatians 3:9) 3 What are the manifestations of the blessing ( Galatians 3:13-14, Genesis 1:28-29, Psalm 1:1,3, Proverbs 10:22) 4) Can curses be in the life of a believer? If so, why? (2 Kings 25:26-7) 5) How can a believer break free of curses? (2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 2:20, 1 Chronicles 4:9-10) 6) How do we walk in the blessing? 6a: Believe in and Abide in the Lord(John 15:5) 6b Be careful to Love and obey the Lord (  Deuteronomy 11:13-15) 6c. Delight in the word of the Lord and Meditate upon it(Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:1-3, Colossians 3:16-17) 6d. Avoiding the wrong Company(2 Corinthians 6:14,17,18, Psalm 1:1-2) 6e. As God’s priest, declare the blessing over your life regularly and believe you are blessed (Numbers 6:22-27) CONCLUSION Blessings and curses are two opposite forces that work in the lives of people. Anyone in Christ has been blessed. As we walk in the light through the word, we walk in the different manifestations of the blessing

Hidden Wisdom

1 Corinthians 2:7 (NKJV) But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory A certain wealthy man traveled for a very long time. He left a great wonderful estate for his children. This estate was filled with all kinds of great and wonderful machines that were designed to do all kinds of great and wonderful things for his children. But by the time he traveled, his children were still too young so they could not read the manual that would help them utilize the house and machines. They would have to grow up and learn how to read before they can possess their possessions. The wealthy man engaged a teacher who would help his children through this. There were all kinds of smart domestic animals in the estate, but no matter how smart the animals became, and no matter how old they grew, they could never read and understand the manual because it was written in a language higher than their comprehension. The wisdom of God is encrypted in a code that only and He and His children can decode. It is only the mature, those schooled by the Spirit of God and transformed into the image of Christ, that will be able to decode this mystery. That is why it is through the Church that the manifold wisdom of God will be shown to principalities(smart animals) and powers (Eph 3:10). It is by this wisdom that we walk in the power and glory of God. It is by this wisdom that things are created and sustained (Prov 3:19, Jer 10:12). Go into today remembering that as a believer in Christ, it is your heritage to walk in God’s wisdom as you submit to the educational system of the Holy Spirit who is our teacher. Thank God for this privilege. Prayer: Thank God for the privilege to walk in His wisdom want to be saved? Sinning Willfully

Hebrews 10:26-27 (KJV)  For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. God placed Adam in a garden (Gen 2:15), gave him instructions (Gen 2:15-17), and later, his wife whom he called woman (Gen 2: 21-24). In the space of time, the devil came to the woman and eventually deceived her so that she disobeyed God and ate the fruit she should not have eaten. Eve gave the forbidden fruit to her husband, he ate it and their eyes were “opened”. They now knew shame and nakedness (Gen 3:7). The woman ate the fruit first and was normal but as soon as Adam ate the same fruit, they both knew that they were naked and were ashamed. Why did the knowledge of nakedness and shame have to wait for Adam? 1 Timothy 2:14 (KJV)  And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Simply put, Adam sinned willfully not because he was deceived like the woman. Whenever a child of God continues to sin willfully, he is daring the wrath of God, and like Adam, such a one is in the danger of suffering nakedness, shame and banishment from the presence of God. See Gen 3.22-34. The more you grow in the knowledge of God, the more you should hate sin because every sin has the same aim of sending you out of God’s presence. Go into today making up your mind to always hate sin. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you with this. Prayer: Lord, help me grow in faithfulness to you. Lead me not into temptation, and deliver me from [doing] evil. Amen. —Dr. Emmanuel James Bible In One Year: Luke 3-4 No Online Bible Study on Sundays Streamglobe is Nondenominational. The Mind of A True Apostle 2

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (NET)  My conversation and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not be based on human wisdom but on the power of God. We saw earlier that one reason Paul chose to abide with the Corinthians in ‘weakness, fear and trembling’(1 Cor 2:3) was because he did everything possible to make them understand that he was an ordinary human being like them, even though he did very many superhuman things. He did this because he wanted them to put their trust in the Lord Jesus alone when they saw the demonstration of the spirit and power of God. If he didn’t do this, there was the possibility that their trust will also be on him because of the superhuman things that he did. For this same reason, Apostle Paul chose not to preach to them with persuasive words of human wisdom, but with the demonstration of the Spirit and power of God. He was introducing the people to Jesus by showing them His power. They believed in Jesus because they saw proof of His existence and superiority. Even though the Corinthians were in a society where the manifestation of supernatural power was common, the power of God (as it always does) proved itself to be superior, and this brought them to submit to Christ as Lord. Apart from the fact that the words that Apostle Paul spoke were loaded with power that caused people to be convicted and repent, this power also caused miracles and wonders to happen. Go into today asking the Lord to fill you with the power and make you an able minister of the new testament. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 37-41 Join Our Interactive Online Bible Study Today by 2pm (GMT +1). Words of Power

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (NET) My conversation and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not be based on human wisdom but on the power of God. It is on record that when Billy Graham traveled long hours to preach, he spent most of the time praying. It is also on record that his words were not empty words, but they were packed with the power of God to convict people and draw them to salvation. Note that Paul said my conversation and preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom. So he preached with words, but the purpose of his words was not primarily to persuade or wow people, it was to transmit spirit and power. Words can transmit knowledge and wisdom and that is the most common application of words. But words can also be used to transmit spirit and life (power). This was the way Jesus used His words when He preached. He said, “the words that I speak to you are spirit and life” (see John 6:63). Those who listened to Jesus said no one ever spoke the way He spoke because the effect of His speaking was different from what they were used to (see John 7:46, Luke 24:32). The way Jesus spoke and preached should also be the way we speak and preach because as the Father sent Him, so has He sent us (John 20:21). We must use our words primarily to transmit spirit and life when preaching. Go into today knowing that before your words can transmit power, you have to be full of power yourself. Those who walk in this dimension are people of prayer. Prayer is the surest way to make much power available (see James 5:16).  —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Job 39-40 Join Our Interactive Online Bible Study Today by 2pm (GMT +1). The Kingdom Principle Of Faithfulness

Matthew 25:23 (KJV)  His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Larry became really envious of Sunday who had become a great man celebrated by many the world over. He didn’t understand why Sunday became so great and not him because they used to be really close when they were much younger, and he saw that he was more intelligent, gifted, and talented than Sunday. Larry always believed that God had destined him for greatness, but he was not experiencing any of it. All he saw were struggles.  He almost fell into what some call a mid-life crisis, because he was already over 45, and it was now looking clear to him that he was not going to be as successful and great as he had always hoped. As Larry continued to study why people enter into their greatness, he observed a principle that was greatly lacking in his life. He saw that unlike his friend Sunday, he was not a very faithful and reliable person. He was never really consistent at anything that didn’t give instant gratification. He observed that God gave greatness, but one of the principles of greatness in the kingdom of God is faithfulness in the little and in another man’s work(see Luke 16:10,12). Unlike Sunday, he was too proud to be committed to anything that didn’t originate from him. There are different ways of attaining greatness in this world, but greatness in the kingdom of God can only be received by those who are faithful in the little. When you have been faithful in little, much will be given to you –that is the kingdom way (see Luke 16:10,12). Many stars have fallen because they shined before they were proven with faithfulness. It is possible to expose yourself and orchestrate your shining, but if your greatness is not from the Lord, you will have to continue to employ your gimmicks to sustain it, and a time would come that you would run out of them. Go into today remembering that God only promotes those who have shown faithfulness in the little things. Remember also that they that compare themselves with themselves are not wise (2 Corinthians 10:12). Prayer: Lord, give me grace and wisdom to be faithful and consistent. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Psalms 57-59 Join Our Interactive Online Bible Study Today by 2 pm (GMT +1). ZOOM Meeting ID: 536206651 Streamglobe is Nondenominational. The Mind of A True Apostle

1 Corinthians 2:3-4 (NKJV) I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power If you read the verses above, they may appear contradictory at first. Apostle Paul talks here about being with the Corinthians in weakness and much trembling, and yet in the same breath, he is talking about demonstrating the spirit and power of God. ‘I was with you in weakness and much trembling’. What does this mean? This means Paul made it very clear to everyone that he was just an ordinary human being like them. He refused to elevate himself to superhuman status even though he did very many superhuman things. For example, there was a time some of the people he preached to in Lystra wanted to begin worshiping him as a god (Acts 14:14). He tore his clothes and revealed his flesh just to make it clear to them that he was an ordinary human being like them. I can imagine that happening to some ministers today. They would sit on the throne offered to them and say something like ‘after all, the scriptures say we are gods. We even have more authority than these idols they are claiming we are’. Such ministers can never raise disciples who will grow from being spiritual babes. Because Paul made it clear to the people that he was a mortal human like them, when they saw the manifestation of the Spirit and power of God, they knew it wasn’t Paul working but Christ working through Paul. Therefore, their faith was in Christ and not in Paul. Go into today remembering that when people have their faith divided between men and God, they will not be able to grow in their knowledge of God. The Corinthian believers remained babes because of this very reason. Some said I am of Paul, others Apollos, etc. (see 1 Cor 3:1-4). —Abraham Damilola Arigi YBR: II Samuel 15-19 Join Our Interactive Online Bible Study Today by 2pm(GMT +1).
