Godliness is Powerful

1 Timothy 4:8 (NET)  For “physical exercise has some value, but godliness is valuable in every way. It holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.” Chris was told by his doctor that he needed to start exercising because his cholesterol level was too high and it was now getting dangerous. As Chris started exercising religiously, he observed that he started losing weight. His body was now more flexible and he wasn’t getting tired as quickly as before. Chris also found out that his blood pressure normalized and his blood sugar level was no longer abnormal. In order for Chris to gain the benefits of a fit body through physical exercises, he had to be committed and refuse to give up. It took a lot of discipline and diligence, but as he continued, he discovered his body got used to the exercise routine and he later started enjoying it. Godliness can be likened to physical exercise. Godliness may seem like a burden to the flesh, but it is life and health to the soul and spirit. The more we exercise ourselves in godliness, the more spiritually fit and healthy we will be. When a believer is godly, it means he is living with eternity in view. It means he is exercising himself in prayer and the ministry of the word. It means he is deliberate about doing good works that bring glory to his Father in heaven. etc. Every action we take in time has an eternal impact. If we sow to the flesh, we would reap corruption, but if we sow to the Spirit, we would reap eternal life(Galatians 6:8). Eternal life is the divine life that can manifest even in our daily experiences. For example, it is this life that powers divine health and healing, etc. Go into today remembering that a believer who exercises himself in godliness would not only enjoy all-round benefits but would be walking in his divine nature and destiny. This is the key to true satisfaction. Remember that godliness does not merely have physical benefits like good health and peace, it has eternal benefits that our minds are too limited right now to fathom. Indeed, godliness with contentment is great gain. Want to be saved? Click here: streamglobe.org/33 — Pst. Before You Meet Goliath, Tend The Sheep

Zechariah 4:10 (NLT) ‘’Do not despise this small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand. The seven lamps represent the eyes of the Lord that search all around the world.’’ God instructed Samuel to anoint David as king in place of Saul over Israel in 1 Samuel 16:1 and as soon as he was anointed, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him (verse 13). He, however, remained as a Shepard boy until the day his father sent him to give his brothers food on the battlefield (1Samuel 17:17, 18 and 28). Note that David did not hurry to take over the throne from King Saul because he had been anointed or because the Spirit of the Lord had come upon him, instead, he waited for God’s time and while waiting, he attended to his father’s sheep. We saw a similar scenario play out with Joseph who knew that God was with him, yet he served as a servant under his masters. It is unfortunate today that many believers are after the ‘head of Goliath’ and have abandoned ‘the few sheep’. They want to start big and famous but have forsaken their training classes. Unlike Joseph, they have become proud, arrogant and unteachable because of their big dream. They have forgotten that the God who gave the dream also set the training classes. Do not neglect today in your chase after tomorrow, it must be step after step, a little here and a little there (Isaiah 28:10). Go into today knowing that the big dream will only come to pass when you pass the test of training (Psalms 105:19). Prayer: Lord, grant me the wisdom to wait and learn from you until the day of my showing forth. Want to be saved? Pray For Your Nation

1 Samuel 12:23 (KJV)  Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way. “This country is a mess!” Joy said, “nothing is working, the leaders are wicked and unconcerned, they are all out to enrich themselves”. “It is well my sister” replied Peace. “But sister Peace, are you not tired of this country?” Joy asked. “How can I be tired when I have no other country to call my own. We will cope by God’s grace” Peace replied. Many Christians are like these sisters; they identify the problem and complain but do nothing about it. By abiding in Christ, we are kings and priests (see Revelation1:6), this also means that we have duties to perform and one of such duties is interceding for our nations. In Matthew 6:10 (KJV), Jesus commanded that we pray that God’s kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. You see, you must do more than to identify and complain about the problems, you must deal with them by interceding. It is after interceding that the right authority to teach and correct the wrongdoings will be granted by God (see 1 Samuel 12:23). You must come to that point where like Samuel, you can say, ‘‘God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for my Nation’’. Go into today knowing that it is your duty as a child of God to pray for your country. Prayer: Lord, forgive me for not taking intercession for my country as seriously as I should. From now going forward, help me intercede for my Nation. Want to be saved? Why Ask 1

Matthew 7:11 (NKJV) If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Most good earthly fathers and mothers don’t have to wait for their children to ask them for things they need before they give them. Sometimes, our earthly fathers and mothers are the ones to notice that we have a need and meet it before we even realize that we have such needs. But God is more gracious than the best parents in this world. As a matter of fact, when you compare the goodness of the best man to that of God, that man would seem like an evil person. That’s why Jesus said in today’s Bible verse that ‘if ye then, being evil… ‘ Why then do we need to ask our heavenly Father before we receive certain things from Him? Why does He keep encouraging us in different parts of His word to ask in order to receive (see Psalm 2:8, Matt 7:7, James 1:5, James 4:2b, etc)? Being so good and loving and kind, why doesn’t He just give us all we need and we not needing to ask Him first? When God made man after His image and likeness, He created in man the ability to have self-will and self-government, and man was to live by submitting this will and government to God. Through the fall, man declared independence from God, and in effect, disconnected himself from the life and government of God. Because God had already given man dominion over this realm(see Psa 115:16, ps 8:6) and God does not go back on His word, man was now the master of his destiny and Satan his master through sin. Now that God is redeeming man from the fall, He needs men to ask Him before He can do certain things for them. Asking God concerning your needs [and wants] does not inform Him about them (He already knows them), asking Him gives Him the spiritual legal license and access to invade your life and help you. Many times, He needs us to give Him this license by asking Him, that’s why He keeps reminding us to ask. Because of the fall, almost every action of man is saying to God that ‘I do not need you. I can survive on my own’. Asking God would undo that and say ‘I need you’. And there are times we need to continually consciously keep asking so as to sufficiently undo the rebellion that the accuser of brethren is using as a legal ground against us. Go into today remembering that prayer is earthly permission for heavenly invasion. Let heaven invade your life today with God’s goodness. Prayer: Ask the Lord to give you the grace to always pray according to His will. Want to be saved? Receive with Thanksgiving

1 Timothy 4:4-5 (NET) For every creation of God is good and no food is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer. Growing up, we used to drink soya milk and eat other meals made with soy. As we grew older, we were told that soya wasn’t good because it caused infertility issues. I remember we no longer consumed it for some time until much later, some medical experts said soya oil is one of the best oils to consume. Today, I have read several articles that insist that soya oil is one of the most dangerous oils to consume because it messes with certain body hormones. Butter that was said to dangerous is now highly recommended as one of the best oils for daily consumption. Today, there may be many things we consume that may not be good for our bodies, but we do not know. Some may even be consumed because we were told that they are good while they are really not good for the body. For the believer in Christ, we are not under any laws regarding the food we eat. As long as we receive our food with thanksgiving, it would be sanctified and made good for us. It is very important for the believer today to understand and believe this truth so that he would have the required faith to connect with this reality. Many diseases are caused by the wrong diet. Many times, people don’t even know what in their diet is culpable. But for the believer who serves the Lord(as we all should), the Lord promises to bless our food and our water and take sickness and disease from us (see Exodus 23:25). It is an error to make a doctrine out of matters of diet, but it is very easy to fall into this trap and spend more time talking about diet than talking about Jesus. Let’s be careful that we don’t expose ourselves to elemental spirits but live in the liberty that Christ has purchased for us. To the best of your knowledge, eat as healthy as possible, but be careful not to let your trust in Christ’s grace for divine health be replaced with trust in a diet plan. It has been proven time and time again that there is more to life than food…(see Matthew 12:23). Go into today remembering to receive every food set before you with thanksgiving so that it would be sanctified and made good for you. Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the food that You provide. I ask that you give me a thankful heart always, In Jesus’ name. Amen. Want to be saved? The Virus of False Doctrines 2

1 Timothy 4:3-5 (NET) They will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creation of God is good and no food is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer. The reason Sheldon started attending that church where they taught license was because he grew up in one where they taught legalism. In his former church, they were so sin-conscious that they made the people perpetually feel condemned and unaccepted. They went as far as using the old Testament to proscribe certain foods and tag them as sinful. Remember, the believer is not under the law of Moses but under the law of Christ (see 1 Corinthians 9:21, Galatians 6:2). There are two kinds of false doctrines out there. There are those that go on the side of license and the others that go on the side of legalism. Those that go on the side of license are usually laden with sexual immorality and high sounding nonsense. They use the grace of God as a license to continue in iniquity and trivialize sin. The other kind of false doctrines out there are those that go on the side of legalism. They are those who insist on rules and regulations as the way to be right with God. They don’t understand the righteousness of God but seek to establish their own righteousness by their own effort. They are as dangerous or even more dangerous than the license group. They do not walk by faith but by rules and regulations, and because of this, they do not walk in love but in accusations and condemnation. Whenever you see two doctrinal extremes in the body of Christ, the truth is usually in the middle. Even though we are not saved by our works of righteousness, our faith produces in us works of righteousness(James 2:14, Ephesians 2:10). If it doesn’t, then it is not living but dead faith. Whenever you see a teacher always talking about rules and regulations and threatening believers with going hell as a consequence for breaking his laws, be wary. Whenever you see a teacher always talking about the grace that covers sins and never talks about how grace empowers believers to be godly and do what is right, be wary. Go into today remembering that the grace of God teaches people to deny ungodliness and fleshly lusts. Legalism teaches people to set aside the grace of God and rather depend on their ability to keep rules and regulations as the reason why they are saved. Legalism and license are two sides of the same evil coin of false doctrines. Prayer: Father, please guide me from the virus of false doctrines in Jesus’ name. Amen. Want to be saved? The Virus of False Doctrines

1 Timothy 4:1-2 (NET) Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the later times some will desert the faith and occupy themselves with deceiving spirits and demonic teachings, influenced by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared. Sheldon started attending a church in which they said that “sins don’t take people to hellfire, it is refusing to believe in Jesus that takes people to hell”. Even though that statement sounds harmless, it is very dangerous because apart from being an unnecessary statement, it is simply a tool in the quiver of those who teach doctrines that make believers comfortable in besetting sins. Sheldon observed that his love for God started waxing cold as he continued to attend that church. He later discovered that the pastors in that church were very immoral and godless. There are certain doctrines that have become popular in some circles that the first time I heard about them, I found it difficult to understand how believers would actually believe such teachings. The sad fact about what today’s Bible verses reveal is that those who accept these false doctrines would not know that they have denied the faith. They are such who say it is impossible for that to happen. When you see supposed believers following false doctrines and ‘glorying in their shame’, don’t be rattled by their actions but remember that it is one of the signs of the latter times. Go into today remembering that in these latter times, false doctrines would abound. Remember that the fact that a teacher is quoting scriptures does not mean he is saying the truth. When the devil was tempting Jesus, he too was quoting scriptures. Know that any doctrine that directly or indirectly trivializes sin is a false doctrine. Prayer: Father, please guard me against the virus of false doctrines in Jesus’ name. Amen. Want to be saved? Love the Perfect Bond

Beware of scammers! No one in Streamglobe would call you and request any WhatsApp Code or money. Colossians 3:14 (NET) And to all these virtues add love, which is the perfect bond. For the first time in his life, Kayode was truly happy because he felt loved and accepted. In the church, he was loved by people he did not know before. Even though he came from a broken home, he was now a member of an unbreakable family. One thing Christians are to be known for the most is their love for one another. Jesus says: “This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35 (ISV) There is nothing that binds people together like true Christian love. It is powerful, and the devil is powerless against it. Many times, we are generally afraid to love people because love makes us vulnerable. But when we love people for Christ’s sake, it makes us powerful. The easiest way to reap love is to sow love. If your marriage is suffering under forces that seek to break it, begin to sow love like never before. Begin to take out extra time to pray for your spouse. Give your time and resources like never before. Begin to sow love in larger proportions and wait for the bountiful harvest. Love is indeed the perfect bond. It will keep you together. Go into today remembering that the only thing we are to owe people is love (Rom 13:8). Because you are now born again, you have the power to love people. This is the most fruitful manifestation of the divine nature. Lord help me to love the saints with genuine love. Amen. Want to be saved? People of Love

Colossians 3:14 (NET) And to all these virtues add love, which is the perfect bond. When Kayode first believed, he didn’t know how to love people. The only person he had ever loved was himself. His parents did not love him, and no one ever showed him love before he met his roommate who preached to him and led him to Christ. Because he was attending a living Christian fellowship, one of the first things he was taught as a new believer was to love. He was told that he now had the capacity and the ability to love God and love people… You may be asking if it is possible to teach a person to love. Yes. The easiest way is teaching by example. Older women in the church are even to teach younger women to love their husbands and their children (see Titus 2:4). A person who loves will give his time and his resources to the one he loves. For example, It takes love to give your time to pray for someone else. It takes love to inconvenience yourself to give your money to someone who is not you. As children of God, we have been empowered to love. Whether we feel it or not, we now have the power to love people, whether they deserve it or not (remember that God loved us when we did not deserve it). The power of love is the most powerful in the universe. Only those who are born of God have this power to love the way God does (1 John 4:7-8). Go into today remembering that Christians are to be people of love (John 13:35). Prayer: Ask the Lord to make you a person of love. Want to be saved?
