God’s Abundant Grace

Romans 5:21 (NET)so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. God told Adam that the day he eats of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, he will surely die (see Gen 2:17). As Adam and Eve ate of this fruit, they truly died and the first manifestation of this death recorded was that the glory of God departed from them, so much so that they now realized that they were naked. Spiritual death is a separation from the life of God. It is like disconnecting an electrical appliance from its power source. The nakedness of a bright shining bulb cannot be seen while it’s still connected to power and shining. But as soon as it is disconnected, its nakedness and form can be seen and flies can even perch on it. When our phones run out of power, we sometimes say ‘my phone is dead’  because it cannot function without power. Do you see how useless a phone is when the battery is dead? That’s an illustration of how ‘useless’ man is when he is disconnected from the life of God. And that was what happened to Adam and all of humankind after him. It was because of this disconnection from the life of God that sin reigned. Today’s verse reveals that much: “Sin reigned in death”. In that state of disconnection from the life of God(death), sin reigns. Everyone will be judged for his sins and not for Adam’s sin because we did not inherit Adam’s sin, we simply inherited his state of death that ensures that sin would reign over us. The righteousness of Jesus we inherit is the nature that ensures that grace(divine power) reigns in us. And we need to be born again in order to receive this nature The way many understand grace and righteousness, they would have rather said righteousness reigns through grace. But that’s not what the scripture says(see today’s verse). You see, righteousness is right standing before God. This is received by faith in Christ Jesus. It is this right standing before God that gives us access to God’s abundant grace. This grace is what empowers us to walk in [practical] righteousness and reap the reward thereby. Grace also empowers us to walk in the divine nature(holiness) and live eternal life. Go into today remembering that your justification and right standing before God has everything to do with Christ and you receive this by simply believing in Him. After receiving this right standing, you are expected to let grace reign in your life and live the divine life. -Abraham Damilola Arigi Lord, please deliver me from the dominion of sin and bring me under the dominion of your grace. Utilizing Your Grace

1 Corinthians 15:9-10 (NET) For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not been in vain. In fact, I worked harder than all of them – yet not I, but the grace of God with me. Enejo was sick and tired of living a life without power. He wanted the grace of God to begin to manifest in his life. He had received the grace of God but it appeared the grace was not producing the desired results because he did not give himself to the disciplines of the grace he had received. As he began to follow people who had walked in the grace he had received and learned their disciplines, he also became fruitful in the work the Lord called him to do. (Read Hebrews 6:12). Apostle Paul received grace to be an apostle, and he got at it. He did not sit down in one place expecting things to happen, he went out to do the work. He labored in accordance with the grace that was given to him. In this kingdom, promotion comes when we demonstrate faithfulness in the little(see Luke 16:10). When grace comes it comes with its demands and instruction(see Titus 2:11). If we act according to the requirement of grace, we would find more grace and more [spiritual] influence, but if we refuse to act but are slothful in business, it would be as if the grace we have received has no effect. Go into today remembering that grace, just like faith, compels us to action. If the grace you have received is to teach the word of God, you must teach in order for the grace to grow(. If yours is to prophesy, but you are shying away from it, it would later be as if you have not received that grace (see Romans 12:6). Prayer: Lord, help me walk in the grace you have given me and be fruitful. Deliver me from all forms of laziness. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 37-41 Streamglobe is interdenominational. Abundant Grace

Romans 5:20 (NET)Now the law came in so that the transgression may increase, but where sin increased, grace multiplied all the more   Man committed sin from the beginning, but without the law, we did not know how dangerous sin was(it was the law that showed us that the wages of sin is death). God gave Man a conscience that acts as a law within him(see Rom 2:14-15), sin is a violation of this law. When the law came, sinning was now double transgression. The one was violating the principle of life, and the other was disobedience to the commands of God. Because of the law, sin became even more sinful and offensive(a double violation). Thus, the grace that made us free from the filthiness and consequences of sin had to much more abound. Grace is like the detergent and effort put in to wash a filthy vessel. Grace is God’s effort to wash away the filth of our sins and make us clean and justified to stand before Him and share in His divine nature. You would agree with me that the dirtier something is, there would be more detergent and work required to clean it. Where sin increased, grace multiplied much more. Go into today remembering that it cost God the life of His only begotten son to clean you of your sins. Don’t take this sacrifice for granted by willfully walking in the flesh(sin). Do everything possible to flee the path of sin. Seek help if the need be. Prayer: Lord, thank you for your grace that gives me access to your divine life. Please help me walk worthy of this grace and please you in all respects(see Eph 4:1, Col 1:10, 1 Thess 2:21). —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Bible Reading: Job 39-40 If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞https://chat.whatsapp.com/KlQU4uSGI5p4BtcRUVA5iH Send WhatsApp message to: +2348021680251, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) Streamglobe is interdenominational. Appreciating God’s Grace

Ephesians 1:4-5 (NET) For he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world that we may be holy and unblemished in his sight in love. He did this by predestining us to adoption as his sons through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure of his will Shaibu was born into a very wealthy and influential Muslim family, but when he was in the university he heard the gospel and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. This single decision proved to be the most pivotal in his life. He faced persecution untold. The family that used to be very supportive disconnected from him. His parents turned their backs on him and his friends now hated him. After finishing school, he found it difficult to get a job and had to struggle to pay his bills because his family had cut him off. As he went through these struggles and persecution, at some point he almost started doubting the love of God for him, but he remembered that the riches and treasure he was going to inherit in Christ was unquantifiable. The Holy Spirit was always there to comfort him and he knew that what was happening to him was not a coincidence. For example, when he was in secondary school, his uncle made him learn a trade that he felt he would never need because he was from a wealthy family. That trade was what the Lord used to meet his needs for a season. After many years had passed and Shaibu had become stronger in the faith, he realized that indeed, God had chosen him before the foundation of the world. God knew where he was going to be born and God had meticulously planned his salvation. Child of God, never forget that your salvation is not a coincidence, it is the result of a well-laid-out eternal plan. That you were born in a place and time where you would have the opportunity to hear the gospel is the result of God’s predestination and grace. God does not owe anybody salvation, salvation is the result of His benevolence and grace, and you have been chosen to be among those who would receive this grace. The next time the devil tries to make you feel insignificant and condemned, remember that God predestined you for salvation even before the foundation of the world. You are one of the reasons Jesus came to die. God’s plan to save you is older and stronger than satan’s plan to condemn you. Satan only knew about you when you showed up here, God knew about you and planned to save you from before the foundation of the world. Thank the Lord that His grace came to you and you did not reject it. Many indeed have been called, but only those who answer the call and stay faithful will be chosen. Prayer: Pray for your friends and loved ones. Pray that they would heed the call of God and not turn down His grace. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Psalms 57-59 Streamglobe is interdenominational. Defining Grace

Philippians 2:13 (KJV), “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” “It was only last month that I saw you crying with your hands lifted up because you were confessing Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior but you are not showing any evidence of a changed life, I think something is wrong somewhere,” Lucy told her friend Bella. “Don’t you get it? I was welcomed into the family of God that day and the preacher declared me saved, what else do you want? Did you not hear the preacher say, I have been saved by grace? Or, do you know more than the preacher?” Bella asked. “No, I don’t but i thought your life should be better than mine since I am not born again yet” Lucy responded. For the fear of hellfire, many have said the sinner’s prayer and were welcomed into the kingdom of God by a preacher. They were told to write down the date because their names were written in the Lamb’s book of life that very day. Sadly though, they were not welcomed into God’s kingdom because they never truly repented, they only wanted an escape from hell. Titus 2:11 defines grace as that which teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lust and enables us (the written inclusive) to live righteously and godly in this world (Phil 2:13). It also shows that salvation which ultimately will culminate in eternal life or freedom from eternal damnation is a product of grace. Thus, this salvation is not instant, rather it is consequent upon allowing grace to do its full work in you. Meanwhile, from today’s text, “it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Thus, a simple way to define grace will be, “God is working in me to please him”. Go into today knowing that the salvation that grace brings is only for those who have been taught to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and are living righteous and godly lives. Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to live by the teaching of grace so I may enjoy the salvation that it brings. Amen! —Dr. Emmanuel James Bible In One Year: Exodus 25-28 Streamglobe is interdenominational. Learning Grace From Noah

Genesis 6:8 (KJV) “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” Just some generations after God created man, the whole earth was filled with evil, the earth was so evil that non was exempted except the family of Noah. This got God fed up that he decided to wipe out every living thing on the surface of the earth, he did this by sending a flood of water which drowned everything living except Noah, his family, and the living things that were with him. But why were they spared? They were spared because Noah found grace in the eyes of God right? What was so special about him? Why was it just him? What about others or was it just a random selection by God? These and more are the questions that someone may be asking. When Jesus was confronted with the question of divorce in Matthew 19:7-8, he responded by telling them what God’s intention for marriage was in the beginning. Just like Jesus did, we will also examine what grace is in the beginning; at its first mention. In Genesis 6:1-7, the entire human race was corrupted and God decided to wipe them out, but Noah found grace (Gen 6:8). One may quickly think that Noah was only lucky, but a careful examination of his life, however, reveals the contrary. He knew something that differentiated him from every other person, he lived a righteous life (Gen 7:1). Not only did he live righteously, he was also a preacher of righteousness (2 Peter 2:5). You see, before grace spared Noah from being destroyed, it taught him how to live righteously first. We therefore can conclude that living righteously is the proof that one has found grace and its result or benefit is an exemption from destruction (salvation). If the grace you have found is such which promises an escape from hell (destruction) but never teaches righteousness, what you have found is not the same as what Noah found. Go into today knowing that, “the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world” (Titus 2:11-12 KJV). Prayer: By the grace of God, I deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. I will live soberly, righteously, and godly in Jesus’ name. The Renewed Mind

1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (NKJV) But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. When Laide was going through the challenges she faced as a student on campus, she almost lost all hope and gave up. But what kept her going was the word of God and the Holy Spirit. One way the Holy Spirit comforts us is by revealing things to us that will comfort us. The things He reveals to us are the basis of our hope and tokens of God’s love for us. They do not only span things in time, but they cover things in eternity that God has purposed for us. An unrenewed mind does not have the ability to decode and understand the things revealed to his spirit by the Spirit of God. Those who are spiritually mature are those whose minds have been renewed to conform to the mind of Christ. The fact that you are born again does not mean you have a renewed inner man. The new man you have put on needs renewal through the knowledge of the word (see Col 3:9-10). Go into today knowing that spiritual maturity is through the renewal of your mind by the word of God and by prayer. It is only a renewed mind that can understand the things the spirit reveals–things that the natural human mind cannot comprehend. prayer: Ask the Lord to help you always walk in the newness of the mind. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: II Corinthians 9-10 Streamglobe is interdenominational. Finding Grace

Hebrews 4:16 (NET) Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help. Yomi found that unlike him, Gbenga walked in the divine nature and enjoyed the benefits of the divine life; the promises of God found fruition in his life. Yomi wondered why that wasn’t the case with him. “But I quote scriptures like Gbenga, why don’t they work in my life as they do in Gbenga’s life?”. After living with Gbenga for some time, Yomi observed that unlike him, Gbenga lived a truly holy life before the Lord. This was the reason why he could appropriate the promises of God so easily. In today’s verse, notice that from the throne of grace, mercy is received but grace is found. In order to receive a thing, we need to simply ask. But in order to find something, we need to seek [for] it. Jesus was the one who said ‘ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find'(Matthew 7:7). In order to walk in God’s grace, we need to first receive mercy. Mercy is the reason we have righteousness (right standing) with God, but grace is the reason(empowerment) we can walk in holiness and thus appropriate our privileges as sons of God (See 2 Corinthians 7:1). Holiness is required for God’s people to possess their possessions (see Obadiah 1:17). In order to find grace, you need to search for it with the lamp of God’s word. This lamp is oiled by the indwelling Holy Spirit who gives life(understanding) to God’s word. Listen and meditate on God’s Word until it crystallizes grace in your spirit concerning that area of need. The way by which we connect with grace is through faith. God has given us great and exceeding promises. As we believe these promises, we are able to walk in them and partake in the divine nature. But this is only possible after we, through grace, have escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust(see 2 Peter 1:4). Go into today remembering that mercy is received but grace is found. Grace is found using the searchlight of God’s word which imparts faith. Prayer: Father, help me find grace to finish this race victoriously, in Jesus’ name. In Whom Do You Trust?

Psalms 91:2 (NKJV) …My God, in Him I will trust. After Lekan graduated from the University, it took him some time to get a good job. His uncle was the managing director of a big company, and he expected that his uncle would naturally help him secure a good job. But it just didn’t happen. After waiting and waiting for his uncle, he decided to turn to God and pray. This was when he realized that concerning getting a good job, his trust was never really in the Lord, but in his uncle. (See Jer 17:5, Psa 146:3). Whoever you put your trust in and depend on is the one who is your God. The reason why the Lord warns us against serving Mammon (even more than He warns us against serving the devil) is because it is very easy for a person to trust in his money and lean on the strength of mammon. Rich people fall into this trap more than the poor because they, more than other people, know the power of money. That is why the Lord particularly warns His children who are rich in this world not to put their trust in uncertain riches (see 1 Tim 6:17). The way to trust in God is to acknowledge that all good things come from Him and He uses anyone and anything to help you. This means you now see people and systems as only channels that God uses and never as your source of help. You understand that God is your help, with or without them. Go into today remembering that it is better to trust in the Lord than in any other. People fail, money fails, but they that trust in the Lord will not be moved (see Psalm 125:1). Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you trust Him with all your heart. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 32-36 Streamglobe is interdenominational. Inviting God Through Thanksgiving

John 6:11 (NET) Then Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed the bread to those who were seated. He then did the same with the fish, as much as they wanted. I heard the story of a great servant of God who had a cook that was heavily possessed with unclean spirits. Each time she cooked for him, she would cast a spell on the food. But before he ate his food every time, he would give thanks and the spell would be removed. Unknown to her, the man of God knew all she was doing, but never fired her. When her day of deliverance came, she was the one who confessed all she had been doing and how she would see her demonic spell leave the food each and every time. His secret was thanksgiving. Have you noticed that Jesus gave thanks each time he broke bread? Have you noticed that He also gave thanks before he raised Lazarus from the dead? (See John 11:41). One of the easiest ways to usher God into a situation is to give Him thanks. When you acknowledge God by thanking Him, you are inviting His presence into whatever you are thanking Him for. As you go into today, determine to magnify God in your life by being thankful in all things. This is the easiest way to invite God and see His mighty power at work in your life. Read 1 Thess 5:18 and Psalm 22:3 in KJV. When we thank God we acknowledge Him for what He has done, when we praise Him, we acknowledge Him for who He is. Remember that the Lord inhabits the Praises of His people(Psalm 22:3). Let the presence of God fill your life this week; let thanking and praises never cease from your heart and mouth this week. Prayer confession: Henceforth, I will thank the Lord in all situations; I will experience a greater dimension of His power and glory in my life.
