Hebrews 12:8-9 (KJV) But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
“Lord, why is my own always different? Why do you always make it difficult for me in things like this?” Clara cried out.
She took part in exam malpractice and was caught and sent to the disciplinary committee of the university. The same malpractice that others did and “prospered”, when she partook in it, she was caught in such a way that she just knew it was the Lord chastising her.
One thing every true son of the kingdom would tell you is that God chastises His children. When you become sincere about following Jesus and inheriting His kingdom, you will learn the fear of the Lord through real-life experiences that would reveal to you that the Lord is chastising you when you go wrong. A time would come that you would be so afraid of sinning, not because you don’t know the “benefits” of the sin, but because you are afraid of the chastisement the Lord would administer if you go that way. But those who are still playing church would know nothing of this. The government of God over their lives would remain a foreign concept.
God chastises us and teaches us obedience [by the things we suffer] so we would walk in His holiness. There are many dimensions of God’s authority, power, and glory that we cannot access unless we sanctify ourselves and walk in His holiness. When God chastises us, it reveals that we are truly His children who are destined for greatness in His kingdom.
Go into today remembering that God always wants the best for you. God’s plan for you is better than your plan for yourself. When the Lord chastises you, it is because you are His son and not a bastard. Actually, all true sons would testify that they have been partakers of God’s chastening, and the end product is always glorious.
