Living Sensibly

🔊Audio Version Here ☞ bit.ly/aud1865 Luke 15:17-18 (NIV) “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. The story here is about a son who took his inheritance to a far country and squandered it. Then the Bible recorded that he ‘came back to his senses’ and said “I will go back to my father”. A question I’d like you to consider is ‘when did he lose his senses?’ It wasn’t when he squandered his inheritance; it wasn’t when he came to a far country; it was the very moment he thought he could live his life outside the guidance and supervision of his father, that was the moment he got it all mixed up. We don’t judge right and wrong by outcome; we judge right and wrong by the revealed word of God. So even if this son had gone into a far country and invested his inheritance in a profitable business and grew wealthy, it still would not justify his leaving his father. The specie of humans called the Christian, (or the believer, or the New Creation), only exist in Christ [2nd Cor 5:17] (also seen in the epistles as ‘in Him’ [Eph 1:4] or ‘in Whom’ [Col 1:14]). Outside His saving grace we are damned; outside His Lordship we are lost. Regardless of the physical outcome, life lived outside the revealed word and will of God is a life lived senselessly. Some decisions taken outside God’s will might look rational and sensible to the world, but that is understandable, “The unbeliever does not receive the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him…” [1 Cor 2:14]. Bible says in Luke 15:17, 18 ‘when he came to himself, he said … I will arise and go to my Father’ for when we desert our Father’s wisdom, we lose ourselves. Go into today resolved to make bible sense by constantly, continuously and consistently walking in the will of God. —Ikechukwu Mpama Streamglobe is nondenominational. Innovations and Discoveries

🔊Audio Version Here ☞ bit.ly/aud1864   Job 32:8 (KJV) But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. Growing up in Nigeria, I was told that the reason the Americans had so many innovations and discoveries was because they had used their witchcraft to do well. This made me believe that there is a level of greatness that can never be achieved except by the assistance of the devil and I have seen this mindset play out with other African brothers who often consult Witchdoctors for power, popularity, and acceptance.  Most of them are cut short in the prime of their lives. A story was told of a young Nigerian musician who became so popular and rich in his early twenties because he had consulted some magical powers for fame and wealth but died before he was thirty. In his case, the inspiration to sing came from God, the discipline of practice and rehearsals were his personal role in his success but because of wrong believes, he allowed the devil corrupt the good that was in him and he eventually killed him. Read John 10:10 All good innovations and discoveries are from God. The ability to create is God’s and never the Devil’s. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord, the devil has no good in him and nothing good can come out of him. If it is good without an attached evil to it; if it is perfect, then it is God’s. Read and meditate on Joel 2:28 considering the words ‘dream’ and ‘vision’ and ask God for them. Ask God to inspire your spirit unto understanding. The world is waiting for the revelation of the innovations and discoveries locked up in you. —Dr. Emmanuel James Streamglobe is nondenominational. Healing Is the Children’s Bread

🔊Audio Version Here ☞ bit.ly/aud1863 Matthew 15:26 (KJV) But he answered and said, it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. Joel accepted the Lord Jesus when he was fifteen years old and got Baptized in the Holy Ghost when eighteen. He, however, suffered a skin infection until he was thirty. While preparing for his thirtieth birthday, he asked God for a birthday gift. That night, he saw a man in his dream who told him that “healing is the children’s bread”. When he woke up, although he couldn’t remember the other things that happened in the dream, “healing is the children’s bread” kept ringing in his head, so he got out of bed and searched for that phrase in the Bible. Joel continued to confess those words and decided no longer to be bothered by the skin infection anymore. A few days later he discovered that the infection was gone. “It is not meet to take the children’s bread and to cast it to dogs”, says Jesus. Yet, there are many children of God today who are presently suffering from sicknesses and infirmities. Are you a child of God but sick in your body? Ask God (your father) for the bread of healing. He already gave His word when he said, “ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you”. Take Him by His word. If you are sick in your body, pray this prayer: I am a child of God and healing is mine in Christ Jesus, I, therefore, command you sickness (mention the name) to leave me now in Jesus name, Amen. Baptized Into One Body

🔊Audio Version Here ☞ bit.ly/aud1862 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 (NKJV) For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body–whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free–and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. It is the same blood that flows in your hands that flows also in your legs and in every other part of your body. Because of this, you do not consider any part of your body to be outside your body.  It is the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead that lives within you and within the millions of believers on earth today. Those who fail to realize that they are one with other believers would not fully enjoy the benefits of The Body. They would be limited and may not know why. It is the same Holy Spirit that came upon the disciples on the day of Pentecost that now dwells within you if you are born again. It is the same Holy Spirit that baptized your brother in the other church that has baptized you if you are born again. We are all members of the same body. We all have the same Spirit living within us. Go into today thanking the Lord for baptizing you with the same Spirit that came upon Him when he was here on earth. Expect to be able to do great and wonderful things just as the Lord and His apostles did because you have the same spirit that they have. —Pst. Receiving & Walking in Spiritual Gifts

🔊Audio Version Here ☞ bit.ly/aud1861 1 Corinthians 12:11 (NKJV) But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. Aarav had always wanted to walk in the prophetic gifts because he had seen the benefits first hand. He always assumed he had received [the baptism of the] Holy Spirit, but through diligent study of the word, he realized he was not yet baptized in the Holy Spirit because he saw from scripture that everyone who was baptized knew for sure that they had received the Holy Spirit. But he wasn’t sure. Aarav was invited to attend an interdenominational Holy-Ghost all night prayer meeting. He decided to attend this meeting because he was told that people received the baptism of the Holy Spirit there. During the meeting, the minister of God invited all those who wanted to receive the Holy Ghost to come forward to be ministered to. As soon as the minister laid his hand on Aarav’s head, Aarav felt great power come upon him that made his body quiver. The next thing he could remember was that he started speaking in tongues and prophesying. that was the day Aarav received the spiritual gifts of tongues and prophesy. With time, he observed that he now had the gift of discerning of spirits and the ability to know things that he normally would not know (word of knowledge). Spiritual gifts are distributed by the Holy Spirit as the He wills. The Holy Spirit not only gives us spiritual gifts, He is the one who powers (or works) them. So walking in communion with the Holy Spirit is the key to walking and excelling in your spiritual gifts. Receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit is key to receiving spiritual gifts. Go into today remembering that God wants you to walk in spiritual gifts so you can be more fruitful. Ask the Lord to deliver you from everything that hinders your communion with the Holy Spirit. —Pst. Washing Each Other’s Feet

🔊Audio Version Here ☞ http://bit.ly/aud1860 John 13:10 (NET) Jesus replied, “The one who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean. And you disciples are clean, but not every one of you.” Read John 13:1-17 We know that the one Jesus referred to here as not being clean was Judas Iscariot. Was it that Judas didn’t have a physical bath like the others? Or was it that Jesus didn’t physically wash Judas’ feet like He did the others? This clearly proves that what Jesus demonstrated in washing His disciple’s feet had a deep spiritual meaning. Jesus told his disciples in John 15:3 that: ‘You are clean already because of the word that I have spoken to you’. So we can see that being clean is not physical but spiritual. And the way through which are clean is by believing the word of God that brings faith in Christ Jesus. The feet are the part of the body that can most easily get dirty again, even after the body has been bathed. As we go through this dusty dirty world, our feet can come in contact with dirt and become dirty. (We can limit this by having our feet shod with the gospel of truth. This means we reveal and do not hide our identity as believers but are ready witnesses of Christ everywhere). Jesus was the one who washed His disciples’ feet. He has instructed us to wash each other’s feet in the same way (see John 13:14). As we deal with believers, we may observe some lapses and faults or backslidings. We are not to be condemnatory or judgmental; we are to carefully wash their feet by interceding for them and by sometimes admonishing them with the Word in love. This is a very important aspect of our Kingdom life. Remember that Jesus interceded for His disciples. He knew that the devil wanted to destroy Peter, but because of His intercession for Peter, Peter was restored (see Luke 22:31-32). Is there a brother or sister close to you that you notice is backsliding? The Lord Jesus expects you to wash his/her feet: intercede and do not condemn. You can’t do both. —Pst. YOU HAVE AUTHORITY

🔊Get Devotional & Bible Audio Here ☞ http://bit.ly/aud1859 Matt 28:18-19 [KJV] And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.   There was a day my friend and I was praying for two young ladies possessed with the spirit of witchcraft. When the power of God came upon them, they started confessing, and saying things that they could do with witchcraft powers. I marveled greatly because as a believer, I did not operate in the dimension of mysteries they talked about. But still, they submitted themselves to me, showing that I truly have spiritual authority that is superior to theirs.   It was then that I realized that they had great knowledge of the little power that they have but I had little knowledge of the superior great power I have in Christ Jesus. This is the case with most believers, many of us have little knowledge of the Spirit that dwells within us, and because of this limited knowledge, we can do only little exploit (see Dan 11:32). Many believers are ignorant of who they are and what they have. As a child of God, you have power and authority. It was given to you as part of your inheritance in Christ Jesus. Jesus secured all power by going to the cross, dying a horrible death, suffering the penalty of sin, and defeating Satan in hell. Go into the world today knowing that Jesus has given you authority. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. -Pastor Lanre Tobi BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: I Chronicles 20-24 Join our Daily Broadcasts:  Whatsapp group link: https://chat.whatsapp.com/IIHKNAgfXYA98HiszHubnw | BBM: 58FC6299 | Telegram group: streamglobe.org/join Source: Devotional

Spiritual Gifts- Interpretation of Tongues

Get Audio Version Here: bit.ly/aud1858 1 Corinthians 12:10 (NKJV) to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. Not long ago, I spoke with a servant of God who was in an American hospital to visit some folks. While he was there, he saw some white men praying and speaking in tongues. But as he listened carefully, he noticed that one of them was speaking his local African language. He first thought the man understood the language, but when he talked to the man later, it was clear that the man was simply praying in tongues and did not understand the language in question. The white men were so excited when they heard the interpretation of what was said because it agreed with their prayer point. I remember the first time someone interpreted my tongues. I was simply praying in tongues to God, and this man sitting near me gave me the interpretation of my prayer in tongues. I was so excited because the things he said I was praying were exactly the burden in my heart at that moment. This man didn’t know me so there was no way he could have known those things, but he heard me praying in tongues and could interpret my prayers. From that day, I took my prayer in tongues a little more seriously. The gift of interpretation of tongues is one that enables believers that have it to know the meaning of certain tongues they hear. It could happen that they begin to hear someone’s tongues in a language they understand, or they just simply begin to know the meaning of the tongues they hear, whether the tongues are messages from God to people (in which case it must be interpreted) or prayers to God. Those who have the gift of diverse tongues usually also have the gift of interpretation of tongues. When a message is given to people in a tongue, it is important that the message is interpreted if the message would profit them. Go into today remembering that spiritual gifts were given to profit withal. Those who have a desire for the increase of God’s kingdom will more easily walk in spiritual gifts. —Pst. Spiritual Gifts- Different Kinds of Tongues

Get Audio Version Here: bit.ly/aud1857 1 Corinthians 12:10 (NKJV) to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. When most believers receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost, they receive the ability to speak in an unknown tongue, and most of the time, this ‘unknown tongue’ becomes their prayer language. There is a difference between ‘unknown tongue’ (as seen in 1 Corinthians 14:2), and  ‘different kinds of tongues’ (as seen in 1 Cor 12:10). While the purpose of speaking in ‘an unknown tongue’ is to talk to God (who does not need an interpreter) and to edify oneself (see 1 Corinthians 14:2,4), the purpose of the gift of ‘different kinds of tongues’ is to bring a message to people and edify them. All spiritual gifts are for the profit of all, not for personal edification (see 1 Cor 12:7). People would need tongues to be interpreted if it would profit them. If you have been baptized in the Holy Spirit, that tongue you most likely speak is ‘an unknown tongue’ and not necessarily ‘diverse kinds of tongues’. You may have noticed that what you have been speaking is the same tongue or language that is not understood by anyone(see 1Cor 14:2), and there may be a lot of monotony to it. It is a tongue (an unknown tongue) and different from the gift of ‘tongues’ or ‘different kinds of tongues’. The gift of ‘tongues’ or ‘different kinds of tongues’ helps those who have it to bring prophetic messages to people. It is equal to the gift of prophecy if interpreted (see 2 Cor 14:5). This should not be confused with speaking in ‘an unknown tongue’ or ‘a tongue’ which is used for praying to God. All do not have the spiritual gift of ‘different kinds of tongues’ (see 1 Corinthians 12:30), but all who have been baptized in the Holy Ghost would normally receive the ability to speak [to God] in ‘an unknown tongue’ (see Acts 10:46, Acts 19:6, Mark 16:17). Go into today remembering that speaking in different kinds of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:10, 14:5) is different from speaking in an unknown tongue (1 Corinthians 14:2). The one is speaking unto men for their edification while the other is speaking unto God, and for self-edification. —Pst.
