Gen 4:16-17 (NKJV) Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden. 17 And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. And he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son Enoch.
Pious embraced Christ at the age of twelve, leading a life filled with the joy of fellowship with God. His early years were marked by a Spirit-led existence. However, upon entering university, he befriended individuals indifferent to God, gradually losing his dedication and succumbing to peer pressure. Despite this deviation, things seemed to go well for him. Even when advised by brethren to return to God, he dismissed them with a casual “What do I need God for? I am just okay.”
As time passed, Pious became increasingly hardened, eventually rising to become the leader of a cult on campus. His fame and campus privileges grew, but his choices led to a fatal confrontation between rival cults after graduation.
Numerous others, like Cain, have strayed from God’s presence in pursuit of wealth and fame, building impressive lives. Yet, their ultimate fate is one of ruin (see Ps 73:16-18). In contrast, the righteous find peace in the end (see Ps 37:39). It’s crucial to note that a person’s end is not merely physical death.
Recognize today that genuine prosperity is unattainable outside God’s presence. Seek the Lord to reveal the path of life, as it is in His presence that joy abounds, and at His right hand, pleasures endure forever (Psalms 16:11).
