Mark 10:15 KJV “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein”.
As a little girl, Lizzy believed her Dad so much that she thought he was the strongest man in the village. She reported anyone who offended her to him and was always satisfied with his judgment. In one such case, she returned home crying but as soon as her father said he would deal with her offender, she immediately stopped crying and went to play. But as she grew older, her trust in her Dad began to wane.
There are many today who want to be part of the kingdom of God but do not want God to rule over their lives. They want to run their lives by themselves and obey God’s instructions when it is convenient or when there is an imminent gain for them. To them, God remains an option and He is good only to the extent to which He solves their problem.
Today’s passage however teaches that it is only those who receive the kingdom of God like little children that will enter into it. Like little Lizzy, God must be all-sufficient for you. He determines your boundaries and by no means would you want to outstep them.
While Lizzy was a child, the will of her Dad was the best for her. In the same manner, the will of God must be your best if you intend to live the kingdom life.
In Matthew 7:21 (KJV) Jesus says “not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven”
Go into today knowing that entrance into the Kingdom of heaven is guaranteed only for those who do the will of God.
Prayer: Ask God for grace to remain child-like in your trust in Him.
