CHANGING DESTINY THROUGH PRAYER

1 Chronicles 4:10 (KJV) And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.  Jabez was born into a very hard world. He must have observed that life was particularly hard for him. From the beginning, his portion was unusually tough and hard. Even for His mother to give birth to him was abnormally difficult, thus she named him Jabez which means pain. And indeed his life was to be full of pain. This was to be the path of His destiny. But Jabez didn’t like this destiny, so he changed it by praying to God. Jabez prayed and asked the Lord to bless him and enlarge his coast. He asked the Lord to be with Him and change his destiny from that of pain to that of peace and prosperity. God granted his request, and he lived to become the most honorable person in his entire family. If you are going through any unfavorable circumstance in your life, the way out is to pray to God and simply ask Him to change it. You spoil things in the place of prayer if you begin by complaining or comparing yourself with others. Phil 4:6: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God [NIV] Go into today determining to pray about anything in your life that brings pain. Know that the Lord is happy to change your story for Good. Read James 4:3. Prayer: Thank God for bringing you to this day. Ask Him for grace to pray in faith always.—Abraham Damilola Arigi Join our WhatsApp group to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day:WhatsApp: https://chat.whatsapp.com/KcS0ueW9OdOFYYPfonXAhRTelegram: https://t.me/streamglobe1 🔊Audio Version Here☞ https://streamglobe.org/aud3741Bible In 1 Year: I Kings 19-22 Kindly forward this devotional to your contacts and let’s bless lives together.Tune in to Streamglobe radio: https://streamglobe.radio https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3741.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

UNCHANGEABLE GOD

Malachi 3:6 (KJV) “I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed” If you are in the middle of the traffic and the car in front of you seems to move, it is either the car is moving or you are the one moving. You can’t use the car in front of you as a point of reference, you may be wrong. But there are some immovable structures you can use as your reference point. A light pole or a building. Now, if you notice that the building seems to be moving, then know you’re on the move, if it doesn’t seem to be moving, then the car in front of you is the one moving. Now what is our point of reference in such a dynamic world as ours? Who is the constant in this equation? For all of these to make sense, there must be someone behind the scenes who controls all these changes but He does not change. “In the beginning GOD…” this is the only explanation that makes sense. God does not change. He is the eternal I AM. He was here when it all began; He still watches to make sure His plans come to pass. Friends, trust Him, He won’t fail you because He does not change. Whatever situation you may find yourself in is not strange to God, He will help you. As you go into today, be encouraged. Be strong. Face whatever change may come your way knowing that “underneath are the everlasting arms.” Prayer: Lord help me to trust you no matter what may come my way, help me to always remember that you do not change, therefore I am not consumed.—Otuokon, Ubokudom Join our WhatsApp group to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day:WhatsApp: https://chat.whatsapp.com/KcS0ueW9OdOFYYPfonXAhRTelegram: https://t.me/streamglobe1 🔊Audio Version Here☞ https://streamglobe.org/aud3740 Bible In 1 Year: Leviticus 7-9 Kindly forward this devotional to your contacts and let’s bless lives together.Tune in to Streamglobe radio: https://streamglobe.radio https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3740.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

THE WORD PURIFIES

Psalms 119:9 (NASB) How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Thy word Deji wanted to know if it was the will of God for him to marry Kemi. He prayed and fasted for three days. At the end of the three days, he got two answers: ‘Yes and No’. He was confused because he did not know how to differentiate the voice of the Holy Spirit from other voices. We sometimes find ourselves in situations where we wish we could physically see the Lord to ask Him what we should do. This is what the Bible refers to as wisdom; knowing the best thing to do per time. In praying to seek God’s face over an issue, you may want to consider fasting because fasting increases spiritual sensitivity. I’m sure you know that the Holy Spirit is not the only spirit in the spirit realm. It is therefore expedient to keep your heart and mind confined only to the frequency of the Holy Spirit. One way to guard your heart and protect it from unwanted spiritual signals is by applying yourself to the word of God. Anything contrary to God’s counsel that is allowed to dwell in your heart is a seed of sin (read PS 119:11). The word of God changes the way we think; it changes our outlook to life. The word of God has this effect on a person whose spirit has been regenerated. Because of this effect, our minds are no longer able to process signals that do not come from God. As you go into this day, allow the word of God to change you into a more perfect Christian by strictly guiding your life according to it. Prayer: please help me heavenly Father to regard your word in my heart, so that I may not sin against you. Amen. HE IS ABLE TO KEEP YOU

Philippians 1:6(NET) For I am sure of this very thing, that the one who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. After reporting to his new job in the city, Felix was excited to meet some of his old friends who were fellowship leaders on their campus. But he was deeply disturbed to realize that many of them had backslidden and were living as unbelievers. One of them was even living with his girlfriend in sin and shame. “What has this city done to my brethren” Felix thought. After a lot of thinking, Felix wasn’t sure he too would last as a fervent believer in that city. Even though he didn’t have any plan to backside, he was already getting defeated from within. And that was the plan of the enemy. Many Christians sometimes doubt the durability of their faith because they have not understood that it wasn’t built by them but by God who is the master builder. Your salvation and your faith was not your idea, it was God’s idea. And God is faithful to keep you and increase you in the faith. Remember that He who began a good work in you will perfect it. As long as you abide in Christ and remain under his authority, you have nothing to fear. As you go into today, do not let your heart be troubled about whether you will make heaven or not. Believe in Jesus that He is able to keep you and present you blameless before God on that day (Read Jude 1:24 and John 14:1-3). Prayer confession: I will never backslide but will always grow in grace In Jesus’ name. Amen. HOW TO PRAY EFFECTIVELY 2

James 4:3 (KJV) Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. David prayed that God should give him a car, but his motive was not in alignment with God’s counsel; his desire to have a car was furnished by deep-seated pride within Him. God wanted to give him a car, but God first sent sound teachings to purge him from his wrong mindset. Fortunately, he repented and was promoted in life. The truth is that many pray sentimental prayers a lot of the time. They think God owes them a breakthrough because they have been through so much in life, but there are people passing through much worse. When we pray, we must pray in line with the word of God; remind God of His promises (see Isaiah 43:26). Praying this way ensures that we never pray amiss but pray according to God’s will. Those who do not pray in line with God’s word usually end up waiting and waiting for answers, and may finally conclude that God doesn’t want to answer them. We might not always expect God to act because of pity on us, but we can always expect Him to honor His word. Next time you want to pray about certain issues, find out what the word says about them and take that to God. God will always honor His word. Make sure that the word purifies your motive. Prayer: Teach me your ways o Lord that I may walk in your truth and pray according to your will always. HOW TO PRAY EFFECTIVELY 1

Philippians 4:6(NET) Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God Nkechi wondered why it appeared God wasn’t answering her prayers. It so happened that each time she prayed about her needs, she would pray like this: “God, I have come again, you haven’t done it for me yet oh, I have prayed, I have fasted; I paid my tithes, offerings, and first fruits. I have even given to the poor. Has your word failed in my life? Look at Sandra; she got married last month after getting that good job. Is it that you don’t love me? “ Some Christians are like Nkechi, they attack God with their prayers; carefully listing all the things He has not done. They are not thankful and they actually believe God owes them because of some money they’ve given in church and some good they’ve done. They forget that we are breathing solely because of God’s mercy, and this we cannot pay for. I would like to let us know that this is the trick of the devil. He likes to blind us to all God is doing for us so we can only see our problems, when in truth, most times, thanksgiving does half of the work in the place of prayer. One of David’s greatest strengths was his ability to praise and give God thanks through every situation. This should be our attitude too. We must adapt the attitude of gratitude if we must receive our testimonies swiftly. The Next time you are about to pray, remember to wrap your prayers in the parcel of thanksgiving and praise (see Phil 4:6). Pray this prayer: Dear Lord, open my eyes to all that you have done for me so that I may always give thanks. Amen.—Esiri Amurun Join our WhatsApp group to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day:WhatsApp: https://chat.whatsapp.com/KcS0ueW9OdOFYYPfonXAhRTelegram: https://t.me/streamglobe1 Bible In 1 Year: Proverbs 5-6 Kindly forward this devotional to your contacts and let’s bless lives together.Tune in to Streamglobe radio: https://streamglobe.radio https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3736.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS

1 John 1:8 (NET) If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. A man prayed like this: “Lord, you know that I am no sinner. I have lived righteously before you all these years. Unlike that man there, I pay my tithes and offerings, and I always do what is right…” The man he looked down upon was crying to God for mercy and grace. He was the one whose prayer was acceptable before God (see Luke 18:9-14). Even though we are to have unshakable assurance of salvation, Christians are never to be self-righteous. A self-righteous person thinks he has done enough to deserve God’s grace and goodness. He uses his own standards to compare himself with others and gives himself a pass mark. He does not know that God does not judge according to human standards. A person who has been saved by grace is never self-righteous. He realizes that his righteousness comes from the Lord; that his ability to do what is right is credited to the grace of God that is at work within him (see Phil 2:13). He admits his imperfections because he walks in ever-increasing grace that continually reveals higher dimensions and standards of light and righteousness. As you go into today, determine to walk in the grace of God and not in self-righteousness- the two do not work together. Prayer confession: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. My sins are forgiven because of Christ’s precious blood. I am walking in the light and pleasing God in all respects, in Jesus’ name. YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN

Broadcast 3734 Luke 8:22(KJV) Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. I am particularly interested in the life story of a madman who caught the attention of heaven. He was insane for years. Every effort to help him failed and he could not be chained. It was so bad that he harmed himself regularly. In this helpless state, Jesus found him and he was healed. “And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs”. Luke 8:26-27 KJV If God remembered this mad man forgotten by everyone, know that He has not forgotten you. If He cares for the birds and lilies; He cares even more for you (see Matthew 6:26-29). Do not give in to despair, help is on the way. There is someone reading this devotional today: You want to begin to engage in something you know is evil because you are tired of hoping and waiting on God. This is the word of the Lord for you today “Help is on the way, hold on.” Go into today knowing that God has not forgotten you. He crossed the lake and calmed the storm just to reach a madman. He will do the same and even more for you. He will come and save you, just lift up your eyes to Him. Prayer: Lord, let your help locate me in Jesus’ name. Amen. Not yet saved? THE GIFT OF GOD

Romans 6:23(KJV) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord Wages are different from gifts. You work to earn a wage, but a gift is received not because you worked to earn it, but because of the benevolence of the person giving it. When a gift is given to you, all that is required is that you receive it. Today’s Bible verse shows that the wages of sin is death. The payment for living a sinful life is death. Unfortunately, every human being born into this world was sentenced to living a sinful life. But praise God! He has given us the gift of eternal life so that we might inherit life instead of death. All we have to do to receive this gift is to believe in Christ Jesus the Son of God. God has indeed given us eternal life, and this life is in His son (see 1 John 5:11). A wage is different from a gift. Death is different from life. The wage is death, but God’s gift is eternal life. Isn’t it great to find out that God has given us the gift called eternal life instead of the wage called death that we all worked for while we lived in sin? Go into today thanking God for His gift of eternal life. This gift contains all things pertaining to life and Godliness: it contains all the things you need to live a Godly and fulfilled life (see 2 Peter 1:3). Prayer confession: I receive eternal life. I receive all things I need to live a blessed, fulfilled, Godly life in Jesus name. THE GIFT OF GOD

Romans 6:23 (KJV) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Chief Mmehie was a very powerful and wicked slave master. It so happened that everyone born into the Uwa village was now born into his compound, and this meant slavery. He was so wicked that by the time a person served him for a lifetime, he would reward that person with a delicious meal that has been poisoned. He paid his slaves with death. King Idịmma was infinitely more powerful than Chief Mmehie. He sent his son to go and save all the villagers of Uwa village from Chief Mmehie’s slavery. King Idịmma’s son first infiltrated the slave compound like a slave, but later revealed his true nature when he permanently destroyed the great gate of Chief Mmehie’s compound. He announced to all the slaves that they were now free to go; that his father had built houses and Vineyards for all of them and they were now going to live in freedom as princes. Some of the slaves believed and followed him but many of them did not believe. They were deceived by Chief Mmehie’s lies and remained in his compound as slaves. This story illustrates the reality of the human condition. God has given us the gift of eternal life, but many are still under the deception of the devil. They are still slaves of sin working for death. The only way out of this slavery is to believe in Jesus and follow Him. As we go into today, let us determine to follow Jesus all the way. Let us also pray for all those we know who are still under the slavery of Satan through sin. Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your grace. I ask that you send saving grace to my loved ones who have not yet accepted your salvation, in Jesus’ name I pray.
