Faith and a good conscience

1 Timothy 1:18-19 (NET)  I put this charge before you, Timothy my child, in keeping with the prophecies once spoken about you, in order that with such encouragement you may fight the good fight. To do this you must hold firmly to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck in regard to the faith. When Jide started meditating on the word of God and praying every day, he observed that his faith started to grow. He knew this because he was no more as fearful as he used to be, and he was now more thankful and complained less. He also observed that his words and prayers were now so much more powerful. Some things happened in the office and Jide had to write a report filled with lies. He observed instantly that after preparing that report, he lost his peace and confidence of faith. He used to wake up every morning with an atmosphere of victory in his spirit because his heart was filled with faith, but after he wrote that report, because of a guilty conscience, his faith was fractured and his inner joy compromised. He had to rewrite that report and tell the truth even though the truth was not as beneficial as the lies he had first told. This was when he regained his peace. We can learn from today’s Bible verse that in order for us to wage a good Warfare we are to hold unto faith and a good conscience. The word of God is the way through which faith comes to our hearts and grows, but a guilty or defiled conscience is the fastest way through which the faith of a believer can be eroded or even shipwrecked. Any believer that wants to walk in great faith would be careful not to walk in such a way that his conscience is defiled. Sin causes defilement of conscience, there is no way around this. Go into today remembering to build your life on God’s word. Determine to start your day in God’s Word and watch your faith grow. Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me daily grow in faith and walk in your perfect plan for my life, In Jesus’ name. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: II Kings 16-20 If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/EJWywFxcri6I6wxxKRN5er Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) Join our Daily Zoom Bible Study. 2pm-3pm(WAT) Everyday except Sundays. Entering His Presence

Hebrews 12:22-24 (NET) But you have come to Mount Zion, the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the assembly and congregation of the firstborn, who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous, who have been made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks of something better than Abel’s does. Dan struggled with his prayer life for years. Many times he prayed, he wasn’t sure his prayers were powerful or if God really heard him. He felt that he was drowning in the sea of guilt and fear because he could not communicate with the Lord God as he should. But his prayer life experienced a breakthrough when he heard a sermon based on today’s Bible verses and realized that each time he came to God in prayer, spiritually, he was coming into the city of the living God. He now understood why the Lord wants us to pray without season(1 Thess 5:17). The Lord loves us so much that He doesn’t ever want us to come out of His heavenly city. Praying without ceasing is only possible for the spirit-filled believer. This is when a believer maintains unbroken communion with the Lord in his heart through prayer, thanksgiving, psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, singing and making melody in his heart, etc (see Epph 5:18-20). If for any reason, your spiritual connection with God is interrupted, the easiest way to re-establish it is by thanksgiving and praise. We see in scripture that we enter into God’s gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise(Psalm 100:4). The Lord must have opened the eye of the psalmist to see the spiritual mount Zion, the city of the living God. He saw that the passcode with which God’s people could enter the city gates and God’s temple courts was thanksgiving and praise. Go into today remembering that when you pray, you can pray from afar or you can come into God’s presence and have communion with Him. The secret to entering His presence is thanksgiving and praise. Prayer: Lord God, please help me always dwell in your presence and grow in communion with you. Like Rahab

Joshua 2:18 (GWT): When we invade your land, tie this red cord in the window through which you let us down. Also, gather your father, mother, brothers, and all your father’s family into your house. Tricia was lost in thought as she walked back home from her evening music class and it showed. Ezinwa could tell because Tricia was usually the chatty one but tonight, she was all quiet and somber. So, while everyone said their goodbyes and went their separate ways, she waited to enquire what was so heavy on her heart. “It looks like God just delights in answering the prayers of bad people much more than those who show him more devotion”, blurted Tricia to Ezinwa’s inquiry. It turned out Tricia had been praying for a certain health condition to be turned around for a while now, while Pat who just got saved barely a month ago already had testimonies of divine healing and supernatural help. Ezinwa thought long and hard on how to respond to Tricia, so she asked: “What, in your opinion, is the most remarkable thing about Rahab?” “Her profession”? replied Tricia. Think again. Here is a woman who heard the same report of the works of the God of Israel and the same account that simply generated fear in the heart of every other person who heard it, stimulated something more than just fear in her (See Joshua 2:.9-12) So much so she was willing to risk death by lying to the messengers of the King of Jericho, she was willing to stake her life just to align with the people of this God she had heard about. She elicited a promise and a token from these spies and so kept a red cord on her window in response to their assurance. And that was not all, she took the next step to ask her family and relatives to come camp in her room. How easy do you think it is to go say to your family, “Hey, these guys are going to conquer this city and the only safe place is my room. Come camp in my room till they return or risk death” And if they say, ‘what makes you so sure?’, ‘she’d reply, ‘You see that red cord, as long as it hangs over my window, you can be sure that come what may, we will not suffer the fate of the rest of the city, that is the promise they made me’ The most remarkable thing about Rahab was her faith, and the writer of Hebrews agrees (See Hebrews 11:31). You see, God is about favoring supposedly ‘bad’ persons like a good PR strategy, it is just that people who have no brownie points with God just tend to totally depend on God in faith in ways which some ‘established’ people do not. It is the faith that produces the result, and not their history. Go into today simply trusting in the Lord like a child would his/her parent. This kind of faith pleases the Lord. —Ikechukwu Mpama Bible in 1 Year: I Thessalonians 1-3 (in today’s audio) If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/EJWywFxcri6I6wxxKRN5er Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) Join our Daily Zoom Bible Study. 2pm-3pm(WAT) Everyday except Sundays. Bearing Good Fruits

Matthew 3:10 (KJV) “And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.” Mrs. Jakes: sweetheart, don’t you think we should consider that Pastor down the street? The testimonies of those who visited him are really trilling. Don’t mind those jobless complainers who are criticizing him, they are just jealous of him, his results are simply amazing. Honey, don’t you think we should visit him too? Mr. Jakes: But sweetheart, this man is known for his sexual escapades, he even tried it with your friend just some days ago, remember? We will not visit him, his results are questionable? Just like Mrs. Jakes, many are easily deceived. They are carried away by results usually because they want the easy way out of their challenges or because they just cannot differentiate mere fruits from good fruits. So, what makes a fruit good? Is a man good simply because his life is producing results? Jesus in Matthew 12:33 (KJV) said “either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.” Hence, a fruit is good if it is produced by a good tree, in like manner, a result is good if it is produced by a good man. How then does a man become good? Jesus in Luke 18:19 (KJV) said “none is good, save one, that is, God”. God alone is good, a man is good if he is born of God and knows God. It is the fruits or results produced when a man is connected to God that is called good fruits or good results. Go into today knowing that success for a child of God is not measured by every kind of result but by good results (fruits) alone. Prayer: Father, I ask that you help me remain connected to you so I can produce good results always, In Jesus’ name. At Your Service

1 Samuel 13:14 (NLT): But now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart. The Lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.” Kwame really wanted to ace this interview. He was nervous, it was his first major interview. So, to aid his preparations, he signed up for the “Acing It Like A Pro” webinar hosted by an HR consultant. During this training, Kwame was taught all kinds of skills and etiquette. He was trained on how to open and shut doors properly, how to be polite to all staff he encounters, how to hold the gaze of the interviewer in a way that is not aggressive but assertive, he was taught how to exude confidence while giving a handshake. Kwame was also told questions to anticipate, one of which is the infamous, “Tell us about yourself” question. God once had an opening for which he interviewed prospects/candidates. The then holder of the position was quite a looker; he was heads and shoulders above everybody, literally. He had started well, self-effacing, unassuming, humble, and courageous. But then, once he got the job, his head got bigger, his ego bloated, and he became too big for his shoes. Now God was on a lookout again, and he put the vacancy out. What He did was he contracted his prophet to carry out the recruitment exercise and…Oh Boy! Did he almost miss it! You see when the interview was on, Samuel was so impressed with the CV of Eliab, that he muttered under his breath, “This must be him”, he felt he had found a worthy replacement for Saul, one with an imposing physique too, that way the royal clothes will require little or no adjustment at all. But he was called to order, because, when God puts a vacancy out, he’s not going to be impressed with the arrangement of your CV, when He asks, “Tell me about yourself”, He doesn’t expect a long-winded effort at blowing your own trumpet; He just listens to hear your heart say, “I’m available Lord, I’m at your service” Like Jesus: “Then I said, ‘Look, I have come to do your will, O God—” (Hebrews 10:7a NLT). He looks for one of whom He can say “‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart [conforming to My will and purposes], who will do all My will” (Acts 13:22 AMP) Do you want to serve Him? Go into today preoccupied with doing His will and carrying out His programs…His and not yours. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Ezekiel 31-36 (in today’s audio) If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/EJWywFxcri6I6wxxKRN5er Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) Join our Daily Zoom Bible Study. 2pm-3pm(WAT) Everyday except Sundays. Keep a Firm Grip

2 Thessalonians 2:15 (NLT) With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter. The realities of this ‘social media’ age is the heightened need for acceptance. People want to be liked and fear being different. The world is becoming more and more intolerant of anyone holding an unpopular view, and anyone who doesn’t agree with the general view is labeled intolerant, phobic and narrow-minded. In light of this, believers are under pressure to shift grounds and compromise the truth in order to conform to the demands of an ever-changing world. However, the word of God warns, keep a firm grip on the truth. It is a command. Christian values remain the same as has ever been. Jude 1:3 describes our faith as one that has been handed once and for all times to us. Keep a firm grip on the truth, understand that the Christian/godly stance on sexual purity has not been modified, its stance on integrity remains the same, and its stance on love is still as was given…Hold fast to these truths as revealed in God’s word. Because as Hebrews chapter 2 verse 1 succinctly puts it, “So we must be more careful to follow what we were taught. We must be careful so that we will not be pulled away from the true way” (Easy-to-Read Version). Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me build my life according to the culture of your kingdom. Fill me with your Spirit and help me never to cave to the pressures of this world. Amen. -Ikechukwu Mpama Want to be saved? Comprehending His love

Ephesians 3:17-19 (NET) that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, so that, because you have been rooted and grounded in love, you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. When Dara was a little boy, he was too young to truly understand what love meant. He felt his parents loved him when they bought him nice things and hated him when they disciplined him. It took a level of growth and maturity for Dara to realize that even the times his father disciplined him, it was born out of genuine love. He saw the way other children who were not disciplined turned out, and he doubted whether their parents truly loved them the way his parents loved him. Because he was loved as a little child, he also could love his children easily. It is a true saying that: those who have never experienced love would have a hard time expressing love. From today’s scripture, we can see that the prerequisite for being filled with the fullness of God is a comprehension (or an understanding) of His love. One of the fruits this understanding produces is love for God, and this love would manifest in obedience to Him (See John 14:15, 1John 2:3-5, John 14:21-24). 1 John 4:19 says “we love Him because he first loved us”. Our comprehension of the depth of love the Lord has for us would produce a response of love in us towards Him and towards other people He loves. This love will manifest in the way we treat our friends, neighbors, and even our enemies. For indeed, we would remember that while we were still enemies of God, Christ loved us and gave his life for us. Understanding the Love the Lord has for us is the key that opens up our hearts to deeper fellowship with Him because of trust and faith in Him. It is a true saying that: the deeper you trust a person, the deeper your fellowship would be with that person. Go into today thanking the Lord for the great love with which he has loved you. Ask that the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened so you may comprehend His love more and as a result, your capacity to be filled with His presence and power would be enlarged. Confession: I live a life that demonstrates God’s love. My life is filled with the fullness of God, In Jesus’ name. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Psalms 84-86 5 (in today’s audio) If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/EJWywFxcri6I6wxxKRN5er Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) http://listen.streamglobe.org/Devotional%20Audio%202618.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

Prayer Alert: I will walk in thy truth

Psalms 86:10-11 “For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone. Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.” KJV *Declare the greatness of the Lord today; God is great, He does wondrous things, He alone is God. *Bless the name of the Lord for the wondrous things He has done, and will do in your life. *Pray: Teach me to follow you, and I will obey your truth. Always keep me faithful. *Pray: Teach me, LORD, what you want me to do, and I will obey you faithfully; teach me to serve you with complete devotion. *Pray: Teach me your way, O LORD, so that I may live in your truth. Focus my heart on fearing you. May we always have grace to pray. Amen. Not the Spirit of Fear

2 Tim 1:7(KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Tara received a message on WhatsApp that ended with a threat. It said if she failed to share the message with six of her contacts within six hours of reading it, something bad was going to happen to her within days. But if she shared the message, something good was going to happen to her . The message went on to tell stories of how good things have happened to people who shared it, and how very bad things happened to people who didn’t. Interestingly enough, she read the message in the night after her internet data ran out, and could not recharge that night. Tara’s day was disorganized because she was afraid of the threat in the message since she could not share it. Anyone claiming to be sharing the word of God, but threatening people to share it is not doing so by the spirit of God. That is the way witchcraft works. It uses fear, intimidation and manipulation, to make people do things they normally wouldn’t want to do. Do not open the door of fear in your life by sharing any such message. People do not receive blessings from God because they clicked ‘like’ on a Facebook post or shared a message. People receive blessings from God because of their faith in God and obedience to His word (see Psalm 1). It is interesting how some Christians can read messages created by a con artist and believe every word of it, but fail to believe every word of God that have spoken good concerning them. Go into today remembering that God’s Word is the most powerful word in the universe and it says good concerning you. Read it, believe it, and share it in love. -Pst.
