Are We All God’s Sons?

John 1:12 (NET) “But to all who have received him – those who believe in his name – he has given the right to become God’s children”. Jesus told a story about a poor man named Lazarus who died and was carried by angels to Abraham’s bosom and a rich man who lived sumptuously without regard for poor Lazarus who begged at his gate, the rich man also died and went to hell. In hell, the rich man called Abraham “Father Abraham” (Luke 16:24) and Abraham also called him “son” (Luke 16:25) but neither his acknowledgment of Abraham as father or Abraham’s acknowledgment of him as son prevented him from going to or remaining in hell (See full story in Luke 16:19-31). What exactly was the problem with this rich man who obviously was of the seed of Abraham? Abraham did not deny him, yet he was in hell. This is what Jesus said regarding this, “If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham” (John 8:39). So, he was in hell because he did not do the works of Abraham. If there is more to being Abraham’s son than just being of his race, In like manner, there is more to being God’s son than just carrying the nomenclature “Christian”. In Matthew 7:21, Jesus said, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven”. This means that a baptized, holy communion eating, tongue-speaking church-attending Christian who will not do the will of God is not a son of God. God testifying of Jesus said, “this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17 KJV) – Jesus was God’s beloved son because he pleased him. Are you God’s son? Can God give similar testimony about you? Are you pleasing God? If your answer is not a resounding yes, it means you have some scores to settle with God. Turn to God in repentance and ask his forgiveness. Thereafter, seek to do only His will. Go into today remembering that it is only those who do the will of God that will enter into God’s kingdom. Prayer: Help me Father to always do your will so I can always be your son in Jesus’ name. Living As Sons

Genesis 1:28 (KJV) “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth”. Ursula woke up from her sleep because she heard her little child’s cry, “what might be wrong?” she muttered. Hurrying to the living room, she saw her husband with a cane and heard him saying, “you are my child, you, therefore, must obey me”. She walked back to the bedroom to continue her sleep but she couldn’t, she kept hearing the voice of her husband, “you are my child, you, therefore, must obey me”. Since the voice wouldn’t go away, she sat up on her bed and eventually discovered that God was the one speaking to her. Just like Ursula heard, if you are God’s son, you also must obey him – children are commanded to obey their parents (Eph 6:1, Col 3:20). You show that God is your father when you obey him. God gave a blessing which doubles as an instruction in today’s text, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion” he said. You see, God’s sons are his agents on earth, they are the ones who by being fruitful expand God’s frontier and multiply His dominion on earth. Are you fruitful? Are you replenishing and dominating the earth for God? Is the kingdom of God expanding and gaining recognition because of you? Are you useful to God? Go into today remembering that if you are God’s son, you will obey him. Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to obey you in all things, so that my fruitfulness may appear to all. Understanding the Will of The Lord

Ephesians 5:17 (NKJV)Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. From today’s Bible verse, it is quite clear that when a person does not understand what the will of the Lord is, he is unwise. Before you understand a thing, you must first know it or receive the information that is to be understood. Many believers do not know the will of the Lord. That is why they do not understand it and walk in it. Reading the Bible, reading edifying books, listening to sermons that help you understand the word of God, etc., is the key to understanding the will of God and walking in divine wisdom. This wisdom is superior to the one the prince of this world operates, and through it we overcome the world. The church was ordained by God to be the instrument through which He showcases His manifold wisdom (see Eph 3:10). As a member of the Church, your life should reveal the wisdom of God. This is only possible when you understand and walk in the will of the Lord. Go into today remembering that knowing the will of God concerning every situation is the secret of walking in divine wisdom. This is only possible when you give attention to the word of God and fellowship with the Spirit. Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you pay more attention to learning and understanding His word. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: Psalms 90-92 (In Devotional Audio) If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/IpIyi4YBzxJAMphlwMaNBW Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) http://listen.streamglobe.org/Devotional%20Audio%201357.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

Privilege of sonship

Ephesians 1:18 (KJV) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints Felicia accepted the Lord Jesus but did not know and appreciate the benefit and privilege of being a child of God. As far as she was concerned, every human being is a child of God, so she did not see anything special in the fact that she had received the power to become a child of God because of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ(. She traveled for her friend’s wedding in the company of some other friends and one of them was a believer who understood her privileges as a child of God. They were using GPS to locate the village where the wedding was to be held. As soon as they got to the village, it started raining very heavily, and they needed to be able to ask around to find their way to the exact venue in the village. Gloria, who was a believer aware of her privileges and rights as a child of God, prayed to God as if she knew God was listening to her. She then wound down the car window and spoke to the rain to cease. In less than two minutes, the very heavy rain ceased completely. It was nothing short of a miracle. It was too obvious that the reason that rain stopped was that Gloria prayed. Everyone in the car was surprised. When Felicia asked Gloria how she could do that, Gloria responded by saying “it is because I am a child of God and I walk in my sonship”. From that day, Felicia started seeking to understand her privileges as a child of God. One of the most important things about appropriating something that you have is knowing first of all that you have it and understanding its function. Many believers do not understand that becoming sons of God is the most powerful thing that can happen to them practically. They do not realize that the reason why the Lord Jesus could do many of the mighty things He did was because He was the Son of God. We have the privilege of also becoming sons of God after the likeness of Jesus Christ (our firstborn). Sons have inheritances. We have been called to inherit the kingdom of God. Go into today remembering that because you’re a child of God, God hears you when you pray. Thank the Lord for the Love He has given unto us that we should be called the sons of God. Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you understand and walk in the power of your sonship. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Follow the live stream of Streamglobe Word Encounter by 11:am(Nigerian Time) here: https://streamglobe.com/live Yearly Plan: II Kings 21-25 (In Devotional Audio) If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/IpIyi4YBzxJAMphlwMaNBW Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) http://listen.streamglobe.org/Devotional%20Audio%202628.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

Becoming Sons of God 3

1 John 3 (NET) Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever it is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him just as he is. It was easy for Dara to believe today’s Bible verse because of his personal experience. He observed that the more he beheld the Lord through His Word, the more he was transformed to be like Him in his inner man. There were certain vices and weights he just realized he no longer had an appetite for because of this. Many believers struggle with sins and are unstable because they do not behold the Lord (see Psalm 16:8). As you behold the Lord you become more holy because He is Holy; you become more powerful, more loving, more merciful, more kind, more patient, more humble, wiser, more dependable, and more truthful. These are all attributes of the Lord and you will become more of these things by continually beholding Him in your heart. One of the easiest ways we behold the Lord is through His Word and Prayer. As you behold Him, you become more like Him in your heart. This is how we appropriate our sonship. What is going to happen during the resurrection is that we will have the ability to behold the Lord as He is bodily, and as a result of this, fully become like Him. This will be a total spiritual and bodily transformation. Right now, we have the opportunity to behold Him with our Spirits and with our minds, and that is why we are to be transformed to become like Him in our hearts. But during the resurrection, we would behold Him fully and no longer in part (1 Corinthians 13:12), and thus fully become like Him [physically] too. Go into today knowing that you can be spiritually powerful with the sonship power of Christ because right now you can behold Him in your heart through His word, prayer, and Christian fellowship. Prayer: Lord, help me always behold you and become more like you. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Noy yet saved? Becoming Sons of God 2

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (NET) Therefore “come out from their midst, and be separate,” says the Lord, “and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,” says the All-Powerful Lord. Aarav truly walked in spiritual authority over demons and it was evident to his family and members of his community. There was a time that a Hindu priest felt offended by the fact that Aarav parked his bike too close to his shrine. It was reported that the priest placed a curse upon Aarav and his bike, but when Aarav heard about this, he was not the least disturbed. He simply muttered some scriptures and moved on. That same week, instead of hurt coming to him, the Hindi priest had a ghastly bike accident and was bedridden for three months. A Great fear for Aarav came upon that priest and his followers after that incident. Aarav wasn’t always a person of spiritual authority. He was born into a Christian family, and most of his family members lived in the fear of demonic power. He broke free from that cycle of fear when he realized how to appropriate the power that he had received to become a son of God (John 1:12).The first step he took was to cleanse himself from all defilement of flesh. He ensured that coarse jestings, all forms of immorality, drunkenness, etc, were not found in his life anymore. He also cleansed himself from the defilement of spirit by no longer participating in any pagan feast or festival. He now refused to allow anyone to read his palm or predict the future for him using a widger board, etc. He ensured that he was no more involved in any kind of spiritual adultery by submitting himself to any form of idolatrous practice which would defile his spirit. Many of the Christians in Aarav’s community were weak and could not appropriate their power of sonship because they were not truly separated unto the Lord and had they cleansed themselves from defilements of flesh and spirit. Aarav was different because he understood better. Through faith in Christ Jesus and baptism in the Holy Spirit, we have received the power to become sons of God. But as today’s scripture reveals, this will only happen when we use this power to sanctify ourselves unto the Lord. Go into today remembering that the power we have received to become sons of God makes us holy. Holiness is the key that unlocks the dimension of sonship and authority. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Noy yet saved? Becoming Sons of God

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (NET) Therefore “come out from their midst, and be separate,” says the Lord, “and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,” says the All-Powerful Lord.   Daniel and Segun grew up in the same community and attended the same schools. But when Segun was in high school, he believed in the Lord Jesus and was baptized. He thus started living a separate life unto the Lord. Because of this, he enjoyed the communion of the Lord and could pray and have his prayers answered. Daniel on the other hand was just a churchgoer who was never really committed to the Lord.   As events of life unfolded, it became evident that Segun was truly a son of God. When things went wrong in Daniel’s life and family, Segun would be the one he would run to because he discovered that when Segun prayed, God answered. Segun’s life was not void of battles and challenges, but as Daniel rightly observed, unlike him, Segun always came out victorious. Battles that crushed others only made him stronger and better.   John 1:12 reveals that those who receive the Lord Jesus are given the power to become sons of God. The question is: how do we receive the Lord Jesus and believe in His name so that we would receive this power? The next question is: after we have received this power, how are we to use it to become sons of God?   Before the Lord Jesus died and was resurrected into glory, people were already receiving Him and believing in His name(his authority as the Christ). His disciples were a good example. They received authority and power to cast out devils, subdue all the power of the enemy (see Luke 10:19), and relate with God as their Father. This was the reason why the disciples could cast out demons and heal the sick(see Matthew 10:8). This was the reason why Peter could walk on water and the disciples were already taught to pray to God and refer to Him as Father(Luke 11:2).   After the Lord Jesus died and ascended to glory, just like before He died, those who believe in His name are those who believe that He is the Christ, the son of the living God (see Romans 10:10-11). Those who receive Him now receive Him through the indwelling Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes to minister the reality and power of Christ to the believer(see John 16:13). Christ dwells in us by the Holy Spirit. It is by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit that we can appropriate our inheritance as sons of God. Jesus says we shall receive power after the Holy Spirit comes upon us. This power enables us to be witnesses unto Him (see Acts 1:8). The way we use this power to actually appropriate our sonship is what is revealed in today’s Bible text. The HOLY Spirit empowers us to live separated HOLY lives. It is by the power of the Holy Spirit that we can separate ourselves from the world and live sanctified lives unto the Lord. It is those who have done this that would practically walk in the reality of sonship.   Go into today knowing that if you have believed in the Lord, and are baptized in the Holy Spirit, you have received the power to become a son of God. Ask the Lord to help you use this power to separate yourself from the world and live a sanctified life so your life would practically radiate the power of God. Confession: I am a Child of God. I walk in the authority of heaven and Please my Father in Heaven. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Noy yet saved? Guard Against Greed

Luke 12:15 (NET)Then he said to them, “Watch out and guard yourself from all types of greed, because one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” It didn’t take Gbemisola long to realize that he was operating under a limiting spiritual force(A Curse). His forefathers were idol worshipers, and they left a legacy of misery and generational curses for their children. After he accepted the Lord Jesus, he wanted to walk in his freedom in Christ. This he did through knowledge (see John 8: 31-32). After learning of his family’s history of idolatry, he hated idolatry with passion. He wanted to serve God and God alone because he wanted to leave a legacy of blessings for his children. One of the undeniable manifestations of the power of the gospel is deliverance from the stranglehold of generational curses and limitations. In most cases, especially in Africa, one manifestation of such curses is poverty and reproach. When a person who was under the dominion of curses receives the gospel, he receives deliverance and will be free to live an unlimited life; manifesting his potential and being a blessing to his generation. This is one of the reasons the gospel is called by some “the Gospel of Prosperity”. It delivers people from poverty and brings them into the prosperity of God. But prosperity and financial upliftment are not the main thrust of the gospel message, the Kingdom of God is. So when people lose focus of the kingdom of God and begin to focus on worldly riches, they become covetous and begin to serve mammon rather than serving God (see Matt 6:24). This is idolatry. Remember that idolatry eventually brings people under the power of curses. Go into today guarding your heart against all forms of greed. Greed is a spiritual disease that brings people under the authority of Mammon—the god of this world. Prayer: Lord, deliver me from all forms of coveteousness. Help me walk free from the dominion of mammon. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Noy yet saved? How Bad Is Doubt?

Matthew 14:29-30 (KJV) “And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. Ene competed in a mathematics competition and she made it to the finals. Although happy, she was also very anxious because if she wins, she would go home with the 10 million Naira price and an all expense paid trip to any two countries of her choice. As the competition got to the very last round, she was stuck. She did not know what the answer to the very last question was, so she took a deep sigh and muttered, “Jesus, please help me”, and afterward went for the option that was impressed upon her heart. She won the competition because what was impressed upon her heart was the answer. It was after she had been declared the winner that she exclaimed, “thank God I did not doubt!” What do you think would have happened if she had doubted? She would have lost the price, and that would not have been God’s fault, it simply would have been the result of her doubt. You see, doubt is so bad that it can stop you from getting what God is giving you. We see from today’s text that Jesus had already told Peter to come, and had supplied him the power needed to walk upon the water. The entrance of doubt however caused him to sink. Doubt is so terrible that it can cause you to lose what God has already given you. You have to fight doubt by learning to trust God even in uncertain situations. You can fight doubt by praying about the matter  until the anxiety in your heart wanes and faith is built up. You can fight doubt by confessing the word of God and avoiding people and comunications of unbelief. You can fight doubt by bringing yourself to remeber the wonders God has done in the past, and thanking Him for all His benefits and for what he is doing(Psalm 103:1-2). Go into today knowing that doubt will never give you what faith in God cannot give, it is thus useless to doubt. Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to remain faithful to you in undoubting trust and loyalty. Amen. —Dr. Emmanuel James Bible in 1 Year: Proverbs 13 (in today’s audio) If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/EJWywFxcri6I6wxxKRN5er Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) Join our Daily Zoom Bible Study. 2pm-3pm(WAT) Everyday except Sundays. Strange Teachers

1 Corinthians 4:18-19 (KJV) Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. Pastor Jide: stop listening to those pastors, they don’t understand the gospel. They only minister condemnation. Segun: But Pastor, these pastors are the ones who brought the gospel to us with great power from God and caused our entire communities to turn from idols to Christ Jesus. How come you keep saying these same people do not understand the gospel? Segun observed that pastor Jide had no real power in his ministry to make disciples, but he claimed everyone else was wrong and he was right. When Apostle Paul left the Corinthians and moved on to the next mission field, some other apostles like Apollos graciously went to Corinth to help water what Paul had already planted. But there were also other teachers who arose, and these teachers felt they had an understanding of the gospel contrary to what was preached by Paul, Apollos, and the other apostles of the Lord. One thing characterized these teachers, they were full of words but no power. And they were puffed up but had no real spiritual authority. Today, such teachers have arisen in the church. They criticize everyone who does not subscribe to their warped version of the gospel. They are arrogant and have little regard for scriptures (except those that appear to support their doctrines). These teachers are the worst thing that can happen to any true believers who is not yet spiritually mature. Go into today asking the Lord to deliver the church in your nation from false teachers. Ask the Lord to deliver you from the influence of all such teachers. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Psalms 87-89 (in today’s audio) If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/EJWywFxcri6I6wxxKRN5er Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) Listen to our latest sermons here: www.streamglobe.org http://listen.streamglobe.org/Devotional%20Audio%201717.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS
