God’s Will Is Superior To My Prayer

Matthew 21:22 (KJV) “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” When Shane discovered today’s text, he was so excited that he exclaimed, “oh, finally, I can get all I ever wanted!” Being a very ambitious person, he started asking God for very big things but to his amazement, only very few of the things asked for were actualized, one of such happened when he prayed for supernatural provision so he could help the poor widows in his church. “Why did I get answers to some prayers and not the others? What might be wrong?” He asked. In a bid to get answers to his questions, he started studying the Bible: knowing the secret of answered prayer was his aim. One of such days, he found Jesus saying, “My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work” (John 4:34), then, “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” (John 5:30 KJV). The one that blew his mind was 1 John 5:14, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us”. Oh! So it is his will that he answers! It was after this discovery that he coined the statement, “His will is superior to my prayers”. This discovery might be what you need too, when this is well understood, you’ll pray prayers that will always receive answers. Go into today knowing that the power of faith is unleashed when the will of God is in view. It is faith that helps us to do the will of God. If your faith does not propel you in the direction of God’s will, that faith is not of God. Prayer: I receive grace to seek, pray and do the will of God only, In Jesus’ name. The Yoke Shall Be Destroyed Because Of The Anointing

Judges 6:12-14 (KJV) “And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?” As long as Gideon was ignorant of God’s ordination for him, he and his nation suffered in the hands of their enemies. All the while, the Lord was with him and he was a mighty man of valor but his ignorance kept him in obscurity and reduced him to a man seeking survival instead of being a savior. There are many mighty men of valor today who like Gideon are afraid of their enemies and are living far below God’s ordination for them, even when it is obvious that the Lord is with them. There are yokes that will never be destroyed until you have discovered God’s ordination for you and have began to make conscious effort to fulfil it. Regarding this, God in Isaiah 10:27 said, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing”. Go into today knowing that a child of God will remain under certain kinds of yokes if he refuse to do what he has been anointed to do. Prayer: Father, reveal my ordination to me and help me fulfil it in Jesus name. Sons Have Eternal Life 2

1 John 5:12 (NET)  The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life. It wasn’t that Phillip too was not a believer, in fact, he and Jide became friends because they both were leaders in the same campus fellowship when they were in the university, but unlike Phillip, Jide remained in the Lord, and allowed his life to be ruled by the will and pleasure of the Lord.   Phillip, on the other hand, was a believer but he was not completely sold out to the Lord. He still wanted the best of both worlds. He loved the Lord but he also loved the world. Unknown to him though, the love of the Father was not truly in him because of his love for the world and the things therein(see 1 John 2:15). He also was not accountable to any church assembly but was a floating Christian who had changed church assembly eight times in six years.   From today’s Bible verse, we see that it is he that has the Son that has eternal life. What does it mean to have the Son? It means to abide in the Lord and let His word and Spirit dwell in us richly. A believer who is not spirit-filled cannot appropriate the power and benefits of his eternal life that is in Christ.   Abiding in Christ begins with a decision we make to remain in the Lord and not go back to the world. A believer who abides in the Lord would abide in the church because the church is the body of Christ. The church is a community of believers that have leadership that meets the qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3. In the church, there should be submission and accountability. You are to be submitted and accountable to the leadership of your local church assembly. Go into today remembering that those who walk in the power of eternal life are those who abide in Christ. Those who abide in Christ would abide in His church and allow the word of God to become the standard upon which they build their lives. Prayer: Lord, help me abide in you and be fruitful. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: I Chronicles 10-14 If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/L9dNW31CAwdIIdZfXjnc7U Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) Download Today’s Audio☞ http://bit.ly/audio2648 http://listen.streamglobe.org/Devotional%20Audio%202648.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

Sons Have Eternal Life

1 John 5:11-13 (NET) And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life. I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. When Jide visited Phillip’s home for the first time, after he left, it was evident that someone with eternal life had visited. Phillip’s mother was sick with an incurable illness and had been discharged from the hospital because the doctors could not heal her. But after Jide stayed in Phillips’s house for some days, miraculously, his mother started becoming better until she became completely healed. Also, Phillip had a poultry farm with many layers that he had been feeding for months and they refused to lay eggs, the vet had advised him that the chickens were probably terrified by the loud barks of the dogs in the compound and that he could change their location and change their feed. But after the third day Jide slept in Phillip’s house, all the birds started laying eggs, and many were laying more than one egg per day. This was a marvel.  Jide was a carrier of eternal life, and he was aware of this. Everywhere he went, life and peace followed him because he understood the economy and dynamics of the life that he carried.  What is Eternal life? Eternal life is the God kind of life. It is the kind and quality of life that can only be found in God (the source and giver of all life). One of the awesome privileges we have as believers in the Son of God is that we are joined to Him. We dwell in Him and He in us, thus we also have His eternal life.  One of the major reasons Apostle John wrote the epistle of 1st John to the saints was because he wanted them to know that they have eternal life (see 1 John 5:13). If a believer is unaware of the presence and potency of the eternal life he has, he may not walk in it and enjoy its benefits.  Next time, we shall examine the dynamics of this eternal life which we possess and how to appropriate it.  Go into today knowing that if you abide in Christ, and He abides in you (through the Holy Spirit and His word), you share in His eternal life, and the power of corruption has been suspended within you. Read John 10:10, 2 Peter 1:4 Prayer: Lord, help me remember that I have eternal life, and teach me to appropriate the power and benefits of this life.  —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Numbers 5-8 If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/L9dNW31CAwdIIdZfXjnc7U Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) Download Today’s Audio☞ http://bit.ly/audio2647 http://listen.streamglobe.org/Devotional%20Audio%202647.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

Has My Prayer Been Answered?

Jeremiah 29:13-14 (KJV) “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord : and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord ; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.” “Why are you bordering me? I’ve told you already that I don’t pray twice about a matter, once I’ve spoken to God about it once, that’s it; God said it, I believe it and that settles it. You see, I won’t pray those prayers again, I won’t practice vain repetition, by faith, I believe that I have been delivered” was Jane’s response when Joy asked that they pray again against her being constantly molested in the dream. Since Joy couldn’t persuade her otherwise, she let her be. Sadly though, the cycle of molestation by a strange man in her dreams continued and because of this, she couldn’t get married. Jane wouldn’t repeat the same prayer twice because she considered it doubting God and a sign of faithlessness. Was she right? Is it wrong to pray the same prayer over and over again? In Isaiah 62:6-7 (KJV), God said, “I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence, and give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.” You see, repeating the same prayers over and over again is not wrong. How then do I know that my prayer has been answered and when to stop praying about it? According to today’s text and Isaiah 62:6-7, it is until what you’re asking for has been done. And the second is: until God gives you a word or an assurance concerning that issue. This was recorded concerning Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:7-9 (KJV), “and lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me”. You see, because God gave him a word of assurance, he quit praying about the issue. Go into today knowing that you are to keep asking until your joy is full (see John 16:24). Prayer: Father, I ask in Jesus’ name for the grace to continue in prayer until your purposes are fulfilled in my life. Predestination

Romans 8:30-31 (KJV) Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? A rich generous king prepared a big banquet and was kind enough to invite all the nobles and honorable people in his kingdom. But unfortunately, they all despised his invitation and made it clear that they were not coming. Because of this, he extended his invitation to everyone else– the commoners were now invited. Everyone else was now to be part of the party. Read Matthew 22:1-14. Salvation was for the Jews(John 4:22). They were the noble people of God’s kingdom because they were the nation separated unto God from their inception. But the door was opened to the Gentiles because the Jews rejected the call of God (Romans 11:12). This was demonstrated in the fact that they were the ones who gave the Lord over to be crucified. But God was aware of all this. It played into His eternal plan to save not only the Jews but the whole world. Today, many are called, and we can see from today’s Scripture that it is those who have been predestined that are called. But we also see in Matthew 22:14 that out of the many called, few are chosen. Our response to the call is what will determine whether we are chosen. Because man has free will, the fact that he was predestined and called does not automatically mean that he would be chosen. We have to respond to the call. For those of us who have responded to the call of God to become conformed to the image of His dear son, we need to continue in our conviction to the end (Hebrews 10:23). Let’s not allow distractions, pressures, and cares of this life to hinder us from being fruitful. Let us endure to the end so that we would receive our crown and not be ashamed when our Lord appears. Go into today remembering that God’s got you. Your salvation was planned from the foundation of the world. Your life is not a coincidence and all things are working together for your good because you love God and are called according to His purpose. Prayer: Thank you, Heavenly Father, for choosing me before I knew anything. I ask that you help me walk worthy of this glorious call and please you in all regards. The What, The How And The When Of God’s Promises

Jeremiah 29:11-13 (KJV) “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” “God has good plans for me? You can’t be serious, leave that story for your church members. I’m done with God. I believed and followed him twenty good years and had nothing to show for it, I’m done, I’m just done with whatever has to do with God”. This was Regina’s response when her youth Pastor visited her and encouraged her from today’s text. Almost every Christian knows or must have at least heard the first part of today’s text, the proceeding verses are however are not commonly heard. As important as knowing what God’s promises are (The What), it is equally important to know how to access them (The How) and when to access them (The When). For twenty years, Regina only knew what God’s promises were but her ignorance of when and how to access them led to her frustration. The same has been the case for many Christians. From today’s text, verse 11 describes God’s plan for you while verses 12 and 13 describe how and when to access them. If your story is similar to Regina’s, you probably should begin to call on the name of the Lord and seek Him with the whole of your heart because the promises are for those who seek God with their whole heart. Go into today knowing that, seeking the Lord with your whole heart is what guarantees access to His promises. Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace to seek you with my whole heart and appropriate your promises for me, In Jesus Jesus’ name. The Sin of Comparing and Complaining

Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV) It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Larry was so tired of everything he was going through that he was willing to just quit serving the Lord. His discouragement in life was primarily because he was comparing himself with certain people who seemed to be doing much better than him materially. He wasn’t really doing badly, but he could not appreciate what the Lord was doing for him because he was too busy comparing himself with certain people. As Larry grew spiritually, he realized that he had been walking in foolishness for a long time because he was comparing himself with other people(see 2 Corinthians 10:12), and had demonstrated unthankfulness to the Lord for so many years, yet the Lord was still faithful in keeping him. He saw how the dealings of the Lord were different in his own life and he now appreciated the wisdom of the Lord in determining his seasons. He also saw how the Lord was patiently working in him to produce perfection, and he now understood the futility of comparing himself with other people. Many times a believer begins to compare himself with other people and grumble in his heart, it sends such a negative signal against the Lord in the realm of the spirit that what he deserves, as a result, is destruction. Many of the people of Israel were consumed in the wilderness because of the basic sin of comparing and complaining(see 1 Corinthians 10:10), and scripture reveals that these things happened to them for our examples (see 1 Corinthians 10:6). The next time the flesh wants to push you to compare and complain, remember that you’re an eternal being and the way to measure your progress is by eternal standards and not merely earthly ones. What should get you bothered is if you’re not growing in the knowledge of the Lord and becoming more like Him daily. Remember also that complaining as a believer is a fruit of unbelief. They that live by faith know that God is in control. Instead of complaining, pray about every situation until the pressure in your heart is relieved. If after you’ve prayed the pressure comes back, pray some more(Phillipians 4:6). Go into today knowing that it is because of the mercy of the Lord that we have not been consumed in spite of our complaining. Many of God’s people were consumed in the wilderness because they were guilty of complaining about things that people would normally complain about, but they were to know better. If you find that you too are guilty of comparing and complaining, repent now. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: Proverbs 17-18 (In Devotional Audio) If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/IpIyi4YBzxJAMphlwMaNBW Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) Join our Daily Zoom Bible Study. 2pm-3pm(WAT) Everyday except Sundays. Praying In Jesus’ Name

John 14:13-14 (NKJV)13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. A young lady’s prayer went thus: Lord, you know I am faithful in my tithes and offerings. You know I also give to the needy and I do not withhold what I have from the poor. Please provide for me this need and prove that you are a faithful God. Somewhere in that same city, another young lady prayed thus: Father, I ask that you provide this need for me. I ask not because I believe I deserve anything from you, but because I believe Christ has paid the price for me to receive from you. The second lady got her answer because she asked in the Name of the Lord. Even though the first lady ended her prayers by saying the words “in Jesus’ name”, she wasn’t really asking in the name of the Lord. The reason she believed God should answer her was because of her good works. Good works are indeed powerful in the realm of the spirit and have been the reason for the visitation of God upon many people. Cornelius attracted heaven’s attention and the angel of God visited him because of his good works (see Acts 10:1-4). Your good works are powerful but they are not as powerful as your faith in Christ Jesus. Your record of good works may help you garner much-needed confidence in dealing with God as a son, but when it comes to receiving from God, let your faith be in the works of Christ alone. That is how to pray in Jesus’ name. Go into today remembering to present the superior currency when making heavenly transactions. Faith in Christ is always superior. Ask the Lord to help you always pray in His name. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: Psalms 96-98 (In Devotional Audio) If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/IpIyi4YBzxJAMphlwMaNBW Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) Join our Daily Zoom Bible Study. 2pm-3pm(WAT) Everyday except Sundays. The Led Are The Sons

Isaiah 28:9-10 (KJV) “Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little”   “Danny, you can’t attend that party, you’re just a child. Besides, I don’t like such gatherings, it may be harmful to you” Mrs. Wood said. “Mum, I’m no longer a child, I’m an adult. I am eighteen remember? You, therefore, should give me some space” Danny replied. In the world, adulthood means more freedom or independence. The older a child gets, the freer he becomes, and his parent’s input in his decision-making gradually wanes. But it is not so in the kingdom of God, the direct opposite is the case. In the kingdom, the more mature you get, the more dependent on God you have become. Actually, your rank in God is a function of how dependent on Him you are. For Danny, his proof of maturity manifested in his ability to have an opinion contrary to his mother’s opinion and refuse his mother’s opinion. For sons of God, it is their inability to take a step when God has not given the instruction to do so that shows that they have been weaned. A mature child or son of God will do what God says he should do, will not do what He says he should not do and even more, he will not do what God has not asked him to do. This man cannot act unless he hears from God. And if he does not hear, he sticks to the last instruction and keeps waiting on God for a new one. For sons, it must be precept upon precept and line upon line, here a little and there a little, for it is them that are led by the spirit of God that are the sons of God (Romans 8:14). Go into today Knowing that the life you have been called into is a life of dependence and trust in the Lord. The more dependent on God you get, the more of Him you will know and experience. Prayer: Pray for grace to surrender absolutely to God. —Dr. Emmanuel James Bible in 1 Year: I Chronicles 5-9 (in today’s audio) If you wish to start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, Send us a message or Click here to join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/IpIyi4YBzxJAMphlwMaNBW Send WhatsApp messages to +2348034420524, +2348138224547 (send Testimonies and Inquiries here too) Join our Daily Zoom Bible Study. 2pm-3pm(WAT) Everyday except Sundays.
