Power in the Blood of Jesus

Hebrews 13:20 (NET) Now may the God of peace who by the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus Christ I’ve heard many stories of miracles that happened when people demonstrated faith in the power of the blood of Jesus by crying out “the blood of Jesus”. Indeed, our greatest tool for overcoming the devil is the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony (see Revelation 12:11). Today’s Bible verse reveals a mystery. God actually resurrected our Lord Jesus through the blood of the eternal covenant. We know that the greatest power ever exerted in creation was demonstrated in resurrecting Jesus and elevating Him to the throne in heaven (see Ephesians 1:19-20). Jesus’s resurrection was unique because He died with an ordinary human body but was resurrected with the glorified heavenly body. According to scripture, the Life of every living creature is in its blood (Leviticus 17:11, Genesis 9:4). When you engage the blood of Jesus, you engage the eternal God’s life force. How do we appropriate the power of the blood of Jesus?: We do this by entering into the covenant of the blood through faith in Christ Jesus as our Lord and King. Today, Christ Jesus is our high priest in heaven, and He uses His blood to perform His priestly duties(see Hebrews 9:11-12). Scripture reveals that the way we engage the priesthood of Christ for us is through our confessions. According to Hebrews 3:1 and Hebrews 4:14, Jesus is the high priest of our Confession. You will observe from scripture that the things of the new covenant that would need the priesthood of Christ would always require our Confession. For example, In order for us to be saved, we needed to confess that Jesus is Lord (see Romans 10:9). To be forgiven of our sins and cleansed by His blood, we would need to confess our sins (see 1 John 1:9). In both cases above, the priesthood of Jesus for us was activated by our confessions. We engage the power of Jesus’s blood by confessions of the things the blood has paid for. Remember, confessions of the mouth usually follow conviction in the heart. The overflow of your heart is your mouth (Matthew 12:34). Go into today remembering to engage the unlimited power in the blood of Jesus through your confessions. Say these confessions: by the blood of Jesus, my sins are forgiven. By the blood of Jesus, I am cleansed from all unrighteousness. By the blood of Jesus, I am justified. By the blood of Jesus, I am delivered out of the hand and power of Satan. — Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: II Chronicles 6-10 (In Today’s Audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. Jesus our High Priest

Hebrews 2:16-18 (KJV) For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. Demian was so overwhelmed by his trials and temptations that he stopped attending student fellowship and was now inaccessible to his brethren. He became this way because he felt they did not understand him and would end up judging him. He was an only child who became mixed up in drug addiction quite early. He never felt loved until he met Grace who invited him to fellowship and he became really close to the brethren there. He started coming to fellowship and accepted the Lord Jesus, but certain things happened in the fellowship and carnal brethren manifested in such a way that he started feeling the whole thing(faith, fellowship) was a charade. But he had truly accepted the Lord Jesus and had established a solid relationship with Him. One night he turned the TV to TBN and heard a preacher teaching from today’s Bible verse. At that point, he realized that even though his brethren may not understand him, he had a high priest who understands him. From that point, he started talking to Jesus and making confessions from scripture. He noticed that each time he made a Confession and talked to the Lord, his soul was helped and his heart was relieved of the pressure and depression. Demian was saved from the place of despair the devil wanted to send him into because he understood the priestly ministry of Jesus and related with Him from that standpoint. Do you know that you have a high priest who understands you and wants to help you? Don’t let the devil ever make you feel you’re alone [in the spirit realm]. There are more on your side than against you. The angels of God far outnumber the principalities and powers that want you to fail. Go into today remembering that the way you connect with the help of God is by coming to Jesus your high priest in Confession and surrender. Let him know exactly how it feels and ask Him to help you. Remember He shed His blood for you, so there’s nothing he cannot do for you. Prayer: Lord, help me never forget that you’re on my side to help me and not condemn me. Please strengthen me to know your love and live an empowered life. — Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: Numbers 25-28 (In Today’s Audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. Your Spiritual Maintenance Requirements 4

John 15:9-10 (NET) “Just as the Father has loved me, I have also loved you; remain in my love. If you obey my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. Bala walked into the office at an unexpected time. He was not pleased with the things he overheard some of his colleagues saying about him. At this point, he knew that they were not his friends, and some of them were outright enemies who were envious of him. His most shocking surprise was that Henry, his supposed friend, was the most outspoken. He got home and told his wife the horrible things he heard Henry and the others saying about him. His wife was so angry because Henry was supposed to be his friend and confidant, but this revelation revealed that he was an enemy disguised as a friend. The next time Bala and his wife were praying together, his wife was surprised that just as before, Bala raised a prayer request for Henry and his barren wife. She refused to pray for Henry and wondered why her husband would still pray for such a backstabbing friend. Bala responded and said, “dear, we have to obey the commandments of Christ and pray for people like Henry if we don’t want to become like them”. Bala was willing to sincerely pray for Henry because the Lord had commanded us to pray for those who despitefully use us and persecute us(Matthew 5:44). If we must abide in God’s love, we must obey the commandments of our Lord Jesus Christ. In today’s Bible verse, why would the Lord tell His disciples to obey His commandments even though they were devout Jews who already obeyed the laws of the Old Testament? It is because the Lord had given them commandments that they could not find in the book of the law. One such is that we should pray for those who despitefully use us. Believers are not under the old Testament laws, but are under the law of Christ(1 Corinthians 9:21, Galatians 6:2). The law of Christ is what Christ and His apostles taught the church. Many of the old Testament laws were reiterated and taught to the church by the Lord and His apostles, but many were not. For example, laws about Animal sacrifice, observing physical circumcision, nor the seventh day Sabbath, were not taught to the church, nor are they part of the Law of Christ. Go into today remembering that if you must remain in the love of God, it is expedient that you obey the commandments of our Lord Jesus Christ. — Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: John 19-21 (In Today’s Audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. Your Spiritual Maintenance Requirements 3

Jude 1:20-21 (NET) But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit, maintain yourselves in the love of God, while anticipating the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that brings eternal life Because Franka lived in the expectation of the Lord’s coming, she always remembered that she would one day stand before the Lord’s judgment seat and give an account for the things she did and said. This expectation in her heart kept her holy and circumspect. There was a time she was about to make an important decision concerning her marriage because her husband was misbehaving, but she didn’t know how she was going to justify that decision before the Lord when she appeared before him. She thus refrained from making that decision. An essential spiritual maintenance requirement is living in the expectation of the Lord’s coming. After the Lord appears and the saints have been resurrected to meet Him, one very significant thing that would happen would be the judgment seat of Christ. The saints will all appear before Him to give an account of their stewardship. Some would suffer loss and not be allowed to enter in the joy of their king, while others would be rewarded with crowns, thrones, and territories to govern in the millennial reign(2 Timothy 4:8, 1 Corinthians 3:13-15, Matthew 25:21, Luke 18:16-17). The Lord Jesus says we would give account for every idle word we utter(see Matthew 12:36). The Lord will not forget your labor of love(Hebrews 6:10). He will remember even the ones you’ve forgotten, and you can be sure that He will reward you when He appears. Go into today knowing that living in the expectation of the Lord’s coming is one of the requirements for maintaining yourself in God’s love. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be paid back according to what he has done while in the body, whether good or evil. 2 Corinthians 5:10 (NET). — Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: John 19-21 (In Today’s Audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. Baptized Into Christ

Galatians 3:27-29 (NET) For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female – for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to the promise. When Segun believed in the Lord Jesus and was baptized into Christ, he realized that he no longer had the old desire to steal the way he used to before he became a believer in the Lord Jesus. This was a wonder to him because before he accepted the Lord Jesus, he was a compulsive thief who had lost count of the things he had stolen. He stole so much that if it were possible, he would have stolen from himself. Before Segun accepted Jesus and was baptized into Christ, he was a slave to sin, but because he was now baptized into Christ, he was no more a slave to sin. This was possible because Segun accepted that Christ was now his all in all. He was willing to forsake his culture and identity and pick up the new identity and culture of Christ. He even changed his name from Ogunsegun to Peter Oluwasegun. He no longer primarily saw himself as a Yoruba man but as a Christian whose life and home had to be shaped by the Kingdom culture revealed in the Holy Scriptures. From today’s Bible verses, we can see that as many as were baptized into Christ have clothed themselves with Christ. It is instructive that today’s Bible verse did not say “as many as believe in Christ” because being baptized into Christ is a step deeper than just believing in Christ. Baptism connotes death and burial; death to the old self; death to the old life and identity, and resurrection into the new life and identity of Christ. One sign that a believer has been baptized into Christ is that there would be no more “Jew nor Greek”. This means that the cultural identity into which he was born would no longer define him. He would no longer primarily view himself through that lens. Paul who was a Jew among Jews before he believed said this in 1 Corinthians 9:20: “to the Jew, I became like a Jew to win them”. You will see from here that in truth, Paul no longer primarily viewed himself as a Jew but as a Christian. He was referring to Jews as “them” but referred to fellow Christians(many of whom were formerly Gentiles) as “us”. Many people have believed in Jesus but are still the same old person because they have not been baptized into Christ. They have not died to their old life and identity and received their new life and identity in Christ. The reason they are still slaves to sin is because they have not died to their old life and identity. Go into today remembering that the only way you can discontinue the curses and blemishes of your old life and reap the blessings of being a member of the body of Christ is through baptism into Christ. This means death to your old life and identity and resurrection into the life and identity of Christ. Confession: I am Christian. I am a member of the body of Christ. Christ is my life. He is my identity. He is my all in all. — Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: Amos 5-9 (In Today’s Audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. Your Spiritual Maintenance Requirements 2

Jude 1:20-21 (NET) But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit, maintain yourselves in the love of God, while anticipating the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that brings eternal life. Jessica desperately wanted Emeka to marry her. She prayed about this with fastings, prayed in tongues for hours, and made prophetic declarations. The only problem was that Emeka was already married to Cynthia, but Jessica wanted Emeka to leave Cynthia and marry her. Even though Jessica was praying those prayers in tongues, she was not praying in the Holy Spirit, and her prayers were fruitless. One of the most important spiritual maintenance requirements for every believer is prayer. Prayer is to your spirit man what breathing and exercise are to your physical body. One physical thing we do without ceasing is breathing. We are also expected to pray without ceasing(see 1 Thess 5:17). This is only possible with the help of the Holy Spirit. Prayer should not just be an event where you call heaven and hang up (as likened to a telephone call). You should keep the call line open and never hang up. You should maintain constant communion with God through the Holy Spirit (who now dwells in you). This is praying in the Holy Spirit. A believer who has no prayer life will be devoid of the required spiritual power to execute the things of his destiny and stay alive and healthy spiritually. The devil, knowing how important prayer is to you, would stop at nothing to detract and hinder you from praying fruitfully. The way to be sure that you’re praying fruitfully is to pray in the Holy Spirit. If you have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, you have been given a spiritual gift that makes it so much easier for you to pray in the Holy Ghost. Praying in tongues is one of the surest ways of praying in the Holy Spirit if your heart is right. But if your motive for prayer is wrong, you will not be praying in the Holy Spirit even if you’re praying in tongues. For example, Jessica was not praying in the Holy Spirit even though she was speaking high-frequency tongues. The word of God is inspired by the Holy Spirit and when you pray according to the word of God, you are praying in the Holy Spirit. You have to be careful to purify your motives when praying so that you would not be praying in the flesh but in the Spirit. Many believers have wasted so much time praying fruitless prayers because their prayers were motivated by flesh. Go into today remembering that a very important spiritual maintenance requirement for you is praying in the Holy Spirit. Don’t hang up the heavenly call line. Devote time daily to praying fervently. This is one sure way you recharge your spirit with the power of God. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Proverbs 25 (in today’s audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. Free Indeed

John 8:31-32 (NET) Then Jesus said to those Judeans who had believed him, “If you continue to follow my teaching, you are really my disciples and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Bolaji observed that in his family, every man was a chronic womanizer. His father left his mother for another woman because of this. His grandfather did the same, but only returned to his wife when he became very sick and his lovers deserted him. His father tried to return to his mother when he too became very sick, but his mother wouldn’t accept him back. Even though Bolaji was born again and happily married, he observed that a feeling of discontentment towards his wife and a strong lust for other women started growing within his heart. It didn’t take him long to realize that the same demon that led his grandfather and father astray was now on his case. He knew this was a family curse when he started having symptoms of the same disease that killed his father and grandfather. He had prayed and fasted for many days, but as soon as his fasting ended, the lust came back. The Lord revealed to him that he had to change his belief concerning certain things if he wanted to walk in spiritual liberty. His life and worldview were not shaped by the word of God because he wasn’t devoted to the ministry of the word enough. He primarily saw himself through the lens of the culture he was born into, not through the lens of God’s kingdom culture. He would say things like: “I was a Yoruba man before I became a Christian”. His earthly culture and tradition always took preeminence over God’s word and kingdom values when there was a contradiction. Every believer in Christ has a heritage of blessings rather than curses (see Ephesians 1:3), and should walk in total freedom. But this freedom is appropriated through our knowledge of the truth. It was to those who believed in Him that Jesus said ‘you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free’ (see John 8:31-32). Christ sets us free through our knowledge of the truth revealed by the word of God we know and believe. For example, those who still believe they are under ancestral curses, rather than believing God’s truth concerning them, never truly experience freedom. Go into today changing what you believe according to the truth of God’s word concerning you. Called to Inherit the Kingdom

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NET) Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, practicing homosexuals, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, the verbally abusive, and swindlers will not inherit the kingdom of God. Mr. Banji was a very successful businessman who had built a business empire that provided employment for thousands of people. He wanted his children to take the reins of his business empire, so he was very particular about training them to be like him in decision-making and business acumen. Mr. Banji could not hand his business over to just anyone. Those who would run the business must have his wisdom and skills. Thankfully, his children had his genes, so they could easily learn and become like him. God created man to be in His image and after His likeness because He wanted man to inherit His eternal kingdom. The creator of the universe has a kingdom that governs His creation, and He wants us to inherit that kingdom. The first man(Adam) sinned and fell short of the glory of God and forfeited this glorious destiny. In him, we all sinned and inherited an unrighteous rebellious nature towards God. The Lord God was not willing to give up on “project man”. He came down into our world and fulfilled all the requirements for people to be made righteous and redeemed so they would be restored to their original destiny and inherit God’s kingdom. In order for anyone to partake in this, he would have to deny the rebellion of Adam (that man his own master) and come under the Lordship of Christ as his master. This means he would start living to please the Lord rather than himself. Everything we do to please ourselves rather than the Lord will produce unrighteousness. But when we live to please the Lord, we would ultimately find that this would give us more joy and pleasure than we could have ever found in pursuing our own pleasure(Psalm 16:11). If a person claims to believe in the Lord Jesus but still continues to live a life of unrighteousness, his lifestyle demonstrates that he is not abiding under the Lordship of Christ. If Jesus is truly your Lord, you would live to please Him. A life lived to please the Lord is a righteous life. A life lived to please yourself is an unrighteous life. Go into today remembering that living to please yourself rather than to please the Lord produces unrighteousness. But when pleasing the Lord becomes your priority, you will find righteousness, purpose, and destiny. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: II Chronicles 1-5 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. Appeal to the Judge

Psalms 75:6-7 (KJV) For promotion cometh neither from the east nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is judge: he putteth down one and setteth up another. Whenever Percy thought of his workplace, all he felt was anger and resentment. He felt that his new line manager had hated him from the time he declined slightly adjusting the financial records in preparation for an audit. So much so that he had given him bad reviews on his appraisals just to punish him by making him lose his bonuses and an opportunity for a promotion and a raise. The thought that he could miss out on the promotion due him for which he had worked so hard for years further fuelled Percy’s anger. Walking with God requires placing implicit trust in Him. One of the dimensions a believer must come to know God as is as Judge. As Judge, He is not oblivious to the trials, temptations, events, and circumstances that surround your life. He knows how to dish out judgment and his judgments are not mere words but commands upon which angels must act and to which nature and circumstances bend to. This is why God says, ‘Vengeance is mine; I will repay’ (Rom 12:19). And note that when God acts in ‘vengeance’, it is not vengeance in the sense in which a man pays back one who offends him, but in the sense in which a judge delivers judgment to a convicted offender. Therefore, when you feel oppressed, cheated, maltreated, or persecuted, don’t give in to the pressure to hit back, or to resort to backbiting, bitterness, or even intrigues. Simply appeal to the Judge in prayer. He has the authority and the wisdom to intervene, and his interventions are always just. He will deliver, save, uplift, and restore. Go into today confident that your life is in God’s hands and that as you commit your ways into his hands, he will direct your path. Thank you Father for being the judge of all the earth. Thank you for your righteous judgments, In Jesus’ name. Amen, — Ikechukwu Mpama Yearly Plan: Numbers 21-24 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. Your Spiritual Maintenance Requirements

Jude 1:20-21 (NET) But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit, maintain yourselves in the love of God, while anticipating the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that brings eternal life. Yeong bought a brand-new car and was really excited. But because of experience and wisdom, he wanted to know the things required to maintain the vehicle and keep it in good shape. He knew that using the car without proper maintenance would lead to it breaking down. He downloaded a maintenance manual from his car manufacturer and started studying it. In apostle Jude’s letter to the church, before today’s Bible verses, he talked about how prophecies had been given of people in these last days who would be worldly, divisive, and devoid of the Spirit. He went on to advise us on how to maintain ourselves in the love of God. He talks about building up ourselves in our most Holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, while anticipating the coming of our Lord. The letter of Apostle Jude started with the Holy Spirit telling us to earnestly contend for the faith that was once and for all handed down to the saints. This infers that there are various types of faith, but there is the original faith which He refers to as the Most Holy Faith. Indeed, there are various versions of the faith today that are very different from what the apostles of old practiced and handed down to us. If you observe critically, you will find that there are various versions and options of faith you can subscribe to and build yourself in. There is the kind of faith that is self-centered and focused primarily on worldliness, but there is the faith that is focused on [pleasing] God and whose hope(ultimate expectation) is the Blessed Hope, even the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13). Beloved, this most holy faith is what we are expected to build ourselves in. We do this by keeping our hearts fixed on the blessed hope and living in the light of it (remember, faith is the substance of things hoped for). We live by faith knowing that we will all appear before the judgment seat of Christ(when He returns) to give an account of our actions here in the body (see 2 Corinthians 5:7-10). Go into today remembering that your spiritual maintenance requirement involves living in the anticipation of the Lord’s coming, while building up yourself on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: Philemon (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational.
