Amazing Grace 2
Romans 10:9 (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. When Ravi heard the gospel, it sounded too good to be true. Because as the son of a first-order sorcerer he understood spiritual things, he knew that his soul was going to face the repercussions of his sins(if not in this time, in another). He had resigned his fate to condemnation and decided to continue to do whatever it takes to ‘enjoy’ life while he still could. But here was someone explaining to him that all his sins can be washed away. That Jesus (the righteous) came to be the Ransome for our sins. This sounded too good to be true. After accepting the Lord Jesus, because Ravi truly understood the benefits of being washed from all sin, he walked very closely with God and his life gave expression to God’s great power. The biggest problem of man is Sin. The only sacrifice that could atone for man’s sin is the sacrifice of Jesus. Man was made for God. He was made in God’s image to express Him in time and space. The hindrance to man’s fellowship with God has always been Sin. Those who accept the Lord Jesus are washed from Sin and set free from its eternal consequences. Go into today thanking God for His amazing grace. No matter what you do for God, it is not sufficient to pay for His sacrifice in Christ Jesus, yet He still rewards you for your labor of love. Prayer: Thank our Heavenly Father for being so good to us. Ask for strength to love Him more. —Abraham Damilola Arigi SERMONS HERE☞ streamglobe.org/34 Yearly Bible Plan: Acts 9-10 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe Devotional is interdenominational. Impending Judgment
Acts 24:25 (NET) While Paul was discussing righteousness, self-control, and the coming judgment, Felix became frightened and said, “Go away for now, and when I have an opportunity, I will send for you.” When Lamar accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, he didn’t accept Christ because someone told him that that was a ticket to a better life (that gospel could never appeal to Lamar because he was born into great wealth), he believed in Christ because he now realized that Christ was the only one who could shield him from the judgment that was sure to come. He had several disturbing dreams before a preacher brought the gospel to him, and in those dreams, he saw himself descending into hell fire. He knew he was doomed but didn’t know the way out until the gospel came to him. Today, there is a conscious effort by some to remove the warning about the judgment of God from the preaching of the gospel. Any gospel message that does not properly explain the ramification of Jesus’ salvation from impending judgment is a weak gospel. One main point of the gospel message is that receiving Jesus is the only way to escape the impending damnation (see John 3:18). From today’s Bible verse, we can clearly see that one element of the gospel message preached by the apostles was ‘The Judgment of God’. When in the days of the apostles, people they preached to asked ‘what shall we do [to be saved]?’(see Acts 2:37, 16:30) they asked this question because they understood that there is impending judgment and doom, and they wanted to be saved from it. Go into today remembering that there is coming judgment on all humankind. The only way to escape it is through the salvation of Christ Jesus. Prayer: Ask the Lord to make you more effective in helping people escape eternal damnation by preaching the gospel to them Want to be saved? Serving The King 2
Luke 17:10 (KJV) So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do. During joseph’s lifetime, he did not get a special reward for the part he played in the birth and life of Jesus. However, after he is long dead, he is now a subject to study, and wherever Jesus’ birth is mentioned, he must be mentioned also. What an eternal honor. God is a just God and because of this, he will reward everyone according to his work. We must learn to trust Him! If you were Joseph, what would you have done? Would you ask the Angel for what your gain will be? Joseph, however, did not question God, he just obeyed knowing that his gain is in doing the will of God. He obeyed God and his name and work will now transcend time. Will you serve God acceptably and receive a just and enduring reward or will you serve Him for gains that have no eternal value? From today’s scripture, we can learn that those who would serve God acceptably do not do so with an entitlement mentality, they do so with a servant mentality even though they are sons. Go into today knowing that it is when you serve God with the right mindset that your labor is a labor of love, and such will never go unrewarded. Pray this way: Lord I receive grace to give my all to serve your pleasure, in Jesus’ name. Amen. Want to be saved? He Created All
Get the Devotional Audio☞ Colossians 1:16 (NET) For all things in heaven and on earth were created by him – all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers – all things were created through him and for him. Before spiritual thrones were occupied by demonic beings, the Lord made them, and his plan was for them to be occupied by man. He also made angels. But a third of them fell and became beings of darkness. Man also fell and became flesh. Because of man’s fall, these thrones have been occupied by the fallen angels. Hebrews 2:5 & 8 reveals that God’s plan is for humankind to rule all things [created]. This is the plan that caused war in heaven because Satan wanted to take the position reserved for man and become ruler over all things. But as glorious as he was, he was created as an angel: a servant and not a son [heir]. His designation was not for his throne to be exalted above the stars (angels see Rev 1:20) of God. That was the designation of man (see 1 Cor 6:3, Heb 2:5, 8). Since man fell and could not fulfill his eternal destiny, the Lord became like man who had become (flesh), so that He would fulfill this destiny, and we in Him might all fulfill it. He became the last Adam. Think about how valuable and powerful a man in Christ is. He has been made alive and brought back into his eternal destiny. He is no longer going to end up as mere flesh, but will be resurrected into the glorious destiny of God’s sons. Go into today remembering that what we (Christians) have in Christ is much more valuable than all the wealth in the world. God wants to give us His kingdom (Luke 12:32). He wants to make us rule over all things; including the whole universe. Prayer: Dear Lord, help me walk worthy of my calling and please you in all regards. Amen. (See 1 Thessalonians 2:12). Amazing Grace 1
1 Timothy 1:7-9 (NET) They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not understand what they are saying or the things they insist on so confidently. But we know that the law is good if someone uses it legitimately, realizing that law is not intended for a righteous person, but for lawless and rebellious people, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers John Wesley was once asked how he so succeeded in preaching and getting so many people saved. He said when he rides into a community, he begins by teaching them the law of God for days. He said he would notice that the mood of the people would change and they would become uncomfortable because they are seeing how guilty they are. When he notices this, he would start introducing the gospel to them and revealing the grace of God and forgiveness of sin. Many of them would repent because, through the law, they are first made to understand how sinful they are and are thus delivered from all self-righteousness. A self-righteous person cannot receive the grace of God. But through the law, we are delivered of all self-righteousness so we can receive the grace of God. The only person that can be guiltless under the law is the one who is walking in the spirit and bearing the fruit of the spirit, “[for] [a]against such there is no law” (see Galatians 5:22-23). Just in case a person reads the laws of the Old Testament and believes that he is blameless because he has been able to keep the ten commandments, such a person needs to look at God’s law in its most pristine form as presented by the Lord Jesus Himself. If you read Matthew 5-7 and see the law in its most pristine form, where Jesus gives us God’s true standard of righteousness(without human adulteration), no one who is sincere would be guiltless if he has not found the grace supplied by the Holy Spirit. No one can claim he has never lusted or hated or used an improper word, or not retaliated when offended, etc. After a person who has been feeling self-righteous under the old Testament comes to the New Testament and sees the law given by the Lord himself, he would be delivered from his self-righteousness and would be ready to receive God’s grace. I believe one reason many of us believers do not receive from God when we come asking for things we need is because we are self-righteous and ask God from that place of self-righteousness. But self-righteousness is as filthy rags before the Lord. When you compare yourself with other people, you may become self-righteous, but when you compare yourself with God’s perfect law of liberty, you cannot be self-righteous. And if you are appropriating the grace of the Lord to live a truly blameless life, you cannot be self-righteous but only thankful because you would acknowledge that you of yourself do not have the ability to keep God’s law. Go into today knowing that those who receive and appropriate God’s grace are those who have been set free from all self-righteousness. Those who live by grace cannot be self-righteous. They cannot be judgmental of others that fall because they know that it is only by grace that they stand. If you want to receive the grace of God to be forgiven of your sins and empowered to keep standing victorious, ask the Lord to forgive you for your sins. He has paid for your sins so that you can be forgiven when you accept Him as your Lord and Savior. If you have already received the forgiveness of the Lord, go into today being full of thanksgiving and joy for God’s unmerited favor that found you. Resisting the Devil
James 4:7 (KJV) Submit yourselves therefore to God, Resist the devil, and he will flee from you When Mr. Devin was still living in the world, he lived his normal life in darkness without any restraint. It was habitual for him to sin and his conscience would not condemn him. People in his environment did not care if he was violating divine principles because he was simply living his life as a candidate for hell. When he gave his life to Jesus Christ, a lot changed about him. Every step he took meant something because his neighbors and colleagues now knew that he was born again. He denounced everything that gave him sinful pleasure in the past (2 Cor 5:17). And you know what? that was where the battle began. As a Christian, after the new birth, the real battle which requires conscious efforts from you in representing the Kingdom of God is started. One major objective of the devil in this battle is to corrupt your light (which you have become) and give a bad image to the body of Christ. As a Christian, Mr. Devin had to submit to God. He had to submit to Light and let it shine; pushing the darkness away from his environment. A believer in Christ must overthrow governments in the spiritual realm to take charge of his Life and environment out of the manipulation of darkness. He must cancel covenants and occupy the new ground God has given him. That is why the devil would seek to stop him. Immediately he gives his life to Jesus Christ, the battle line against his soul (and Divine mission) is drawn. The devil knows that as a carrier of light, a believer is a potential threat to his kingdom, so he engages him in a fight. And the only way to have sure and constant victory is by submitting to God and resisting the Devil- don’t give him any room. Victory is sure in Christ Jesus. Friends of Jesus, I challenge you today, fight the good fight of faith (1 Tim 6:12). Finish the course, for Christ Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33). Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me submit to you daily and resist the devil. Deliver me from the traps of the devil and help me walk as light in my generation. Amen. —Barr. K.C Ibekwe Want to be saved? This Treasure
2 Cor 4:7 (NHEB) But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves. The vintage believer might not look like much physically. He might not have an imposing physique nor a charismatic personality. But the least of the believers carry something worth much more than gold. The philosophy of the world suggests that the more valuable a product is, the more glamourous its packaging should appear. However, we find a contrast in the believer, he has an earthen vessel, a mortal body, and yet he contains the immortal God (This is because we have not put on our glorified body yet). For the believer is not a refurbished sinner but a recreated saint. He is recreated in Christ Jesus for the Master’s good pleasure. Ephesians 2:10 puts it beautifully when it says, ‘For we are his workmanship, created in the Christ Jesus for good works that God had prepared beforehand so we may do them’ (NHEB). Therefore, to understand the believer’s new life in Christ, a physical examination will not suffice. We don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look (2 Cor 5:16 MSG). To understand this new life, we look at Jesus. We look at the Word (of God). We have received a regenerated spirit from God, one that is uncorrupted and is submitted to God. We have also received the Holy Spirit who now lives in us. Yes, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit (2 Cor 6:19) A song goes thus: Something more than gold (2x) The Spirit of the Lord in the life of Man is something more than gold. Go into today rejoicing in this knowledge. For Christ lives in us through the person of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us to pray, He reveals Christ to us, He equips us with power, He is the assurance and the hope of the glory to come. Treasure this: rejoice. Prayer: Thank you, Father, for the privilege to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Please help me live a Spirit-filled life. Amen. —Ikechukwu Mpama Want to be saved? False Doctrines: Guard Your Heart 2
1 Timothy 1:5 (NET) But the aim of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith. After Jide left that campus fellowship, he started looking for another fellowship to join himself to because he understood that being part of a Christian fellowship on campus was essential to his spiritual wellbeing. From time to time, Jide came in contact with certain brethren who were genuine. Unlike most believers he met who were worldly, their faith in Christ was sincere and he could discern this. He started observing that many of these sincere brethren were members of a particular campus fellowship. This was how he knew where he was to join himself. Because Jide prayed to the Lord for direction concerning what fellowship to join, the Lord answered his prayer by giving him the wisdom to discern brethren and understand that every sound fellowship would have sound brethren. At the end of the teachings, exegesis, falling under the anointing, miraculous manifestations, etc, what sound doctrine and fellowship should produce in believers is Love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith(see Bible Text above). A believer who is spiritually healthy would be filled with pure love for his brethren and charity for the world. Impure love is “do me I do you” love. It is a love that is based on an expectation of reward. It is not possible to have a good conscience when you have bad conduct. Only sincere faith can work pure love and a good conscience. Go into today knowing that Faith which is predicated on material gain is not sincere. Every faith is a substance of things hoped for. If the hope of a person’s faith begins and ends with financial and material settlement in this world, his faith cannot be sincere, and it is only sincere faith that can work pure love and a good conscience. Prayer: Heavenly faith, purify my motive and desires. Let my faith be pure and sincere. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Want to be saved? Serving The King
Luke 17:10 (KJV) So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, we are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do. No physical or material reward was given to Joseph the husband of Mary for the role he played in the life and ministry of Jesus. Twice he accepted the message of God through an Angel; he kept Mary as his wife and ran with baby Jesus to Egypt away from Herod who wanted to kill him (read Matthew 1and 2). He just obeyed every instruction given to him through the Angel. It is true that God will not forget your labor of love (Hebrews 6:10), however, if this reward does not come during your earthly sojourn or at the expected time, how should you handle it? As a citizen of the kingdom of God, you must know that you live to please the king, and your own joy and fulfillment is a derivative of how much pleasure you bring The King. All things including you were created by Him for his pleasure (Colossians 1:16 and Revelation 4:11). Service to the king, therefore, should be as described in today’s text: when you have done all those things which are commanded you, say, I am an unprofitable servant: I have done that which is my duty to do. If you serve God this way, it will be impossible for the devil to plant offense in your heart. Offense is one of the biggest hindrances to the appropriation of God’s rewards and benefits on this side of eternity. Go into today knowing that serving God is your duty and glory. The Man To Whom God Looks
Isaiah 66:2 (NHEB) For all these things has my hand made, and so all these things came to be, says the Lord, but to this man will I look, to him who is humble and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word. There are so many counsels and counselors present in the world today. There is an ‘expert’ for every conceivable area/matter of life. Therefore, it is not strange to see people begin to compare the opinions of ‘experts’ on a matter. They call it seeking a second opinion. Yet again, there is also this growing philosophy of living life on your own terms. That means you get to choose what you want and what you do not want. You get to decide which counsel to follow or not to follow depending on how it makes you feel With God however, the man to whom God looks is the man who never takes God’s word as just another ‘expert’ opinion to be weighed in with other opinions. The man to whom God looks is a man who is submitted and resigned himself to treating God’s word as sacred and obeys God’s word with dispatch. Our text today suggests that this is only possible with humility and contrition of heart. A proud man will find it hard to tremble at God’s word. He will take his jolly good time before (that is if he ever does) he decides to heed God’s word. A man who trembles at God’s word has already settled it in his heart that God’s word takes first place in his heart and will be the building blocks that shape his life and destiny. The proud man will learn on his own learning, knowledge, and understanding. Trusting in his own expertise and judgment. Go into today meditating on these: do you tremble at God’s word? Is God’s word capable of leading you to alter your pre-determined and pre-disposed lifestyle? Prayer: Lord, please help me live a life ruled by your word. Help me lead a fruitful life.
