Spiritual Liberty 2

Isaiah 10:27 (NIV) In that day their burden will be lifted from your shoulders, their yoke from your neck; the yoke will be broken because you have grown so fat. As Laide started applying her heart to the word of God and allowing it to transform her by the renewing of her mind, she observed that she started knowing the Lord and was now able to discern His will(see Rom 12:2). She also observed that because of this, she was now too big for the chains that held her bound in the past. The yokes in her life were now broken because she had grown spiritually too fat for them. This spiritual fatness came because she had been feasting on the word of God (she continued in His word). Jesus told those who believed in Him that if they continued in His word, they would be His disciples indeed, and then they would know the truth, and the truth will set them free (see John 8:31-32). Those who continue in His word are those who are truly the Lord’s disciples, and they are the ones who can know Him who is the Truth (see John 14:6, 1 John 5:6). This knowledge brings spiritual liberty. The Truth is a reality that is only encountered in [the knowledge of] Christ. This is eternal life; it is the reality that makes all other things but shadows in the light of His presence. Go into today remembering that abiding in His word and letting it change the way you think is the way to know Him and walk in spiritual liberty. Prayer: Ask the Lord to expose you to more resources that will help you abide in His word and grow in the knowledge of The Truth. The more of God’s truth(word) you know, the more impossible it will be for you to be bound. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in one year: Matthew 20-22 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. Spiritual Liberty

John 8:31-32 (KJV) Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. What perplexed Laide was how some people who were believers and committed to the church were still under demonic yokes and ancestral bondages. For example, her uncle was a minister in a Pentecostal church, but he died mysteriously. It was later rumored in their village that he was killed by some witches who had a connection with his family. These kinds of things were happening. Laide herself believed in Jesus, but she was not truly free. Her life was a battle. Demons still had power over her. Jesus told certain Jews who believed in him that if they continued in His word, then they would be His disciples, and then they would know the truth, and the truth will set them free. Remember that Jesus introduced himself as the Truth in John 14:6 (also see John 5:6). These Jews were people who believed in Jesus already, but like Laide, they were not yet free. They were not yet free from the power of sin [and death]; they were not yet free from bondages of the past. Jesus gave them the remedy. He told them to continue in His word. This was how they would become his disciples, and only His disciples can truly know Him (the Truth; the reality). Disciples are those who have been converted from goats to sheep; they are those transformed by the renewing of their mind through the word (Rom 12:2). They are those who obey their Lord in all things. 1 John 2:4 (KJV) He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (To be continued) Go into today desiring to grow in your knowledge of the Lord (2 Peter 3:8), that’s the only way to true spiritual liberty. Not yet saved? Light of the world

Matthew 5:14 (KJV)  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. I have had the privilege to meet with several people during one on one evangelism and I’ve discovered some of the following: *Almost everyone with a Christian name claimed to be born again, some even believe they will go to heaven in the eventuality of death. But pressing further by engaging them with certain questions, I discovered that most of them don’t even know what it means to be born again. * Many who have received the Lord Jesus are doing nothing for Him. I believe Jesus foresaw our day when he said in Matthew 9:37 that ‘‘the harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few’’. From my experience, the grasp of darkness on its subjects seem firmer than ever. Yet, the saved seem unconcerned. We gather in large numbers in massive auditoriums but our immediate environments are not affected. This has left me with these questions: is there a kind of light that doesn’t shine? Can one be under a Lord and not serve him? Can a city be on a hill and yet be hidden? Have you met with Jesus the light of the world? Do you have His life in you? Is He your Lord? Then, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16). The proof of light is in its shinning. The proof of Jesus’ lordship over you is that you will obey and serve Him. Jesus says in John 5:17 that ‘‘my Father worketh hitherto, and I work’’. If Jesus is your Lord, show it by doing His work. Go into today determined to serve Jesus by letting his light shine through you. The harvest is truly plenteous! Prayer: Lord, forgive me for any way I have hidden my light under a bushel. Please help me shine and bring glory to Your Holy Name from today. Amen. Not yet saved? Staying Sanctified

Haggai 2:12-13 (NET) If someone carries holy meat in a fold of his garment and that fold touches bread, a boiled dish, wine, olive oil, or any other food, will that item become holy?’” The priests answered, “It will not.” Then Haggai asked, “If a person who is ritually unclean because of touching a dead body comes in contact with one of these items, will it become unclean?” The priests answered, “It will be unclean.” Jide wondered why each time he spent time with his old friends (who were unbelievers), he came back spiritually weaker and was more susceptible to spiritual attacks and falling into temptations. He always assumed that his contact with unbelievers should help further sanctify them, and not the other way round. But his experience made him realize that his assumption was wrong. Today’s Bible verses reveal a very profound but fundamental spiritual principle. Here the Lord told Prophet Haggai to ask the priests if contact with a Holy thing made other things holy. The answer was no. But it was revealed that contact with defiled things make undefiled things become defiled. This is a principle that God’s people in the time of Haggai needed to remember, and it is a principle God’s people need to remember today. Mixing clean clothes and dirty ones don’t make dirty clothes clean, it would only dirty clean clothes. Go into today remembering that you are not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers (see 2 Cor 6:14, James 4:4). This does not mean you are not to talk to them, be helpful to them or work with them. This means you are not to make unbelievers your close friends and confidants with who you share matters of your heart. Prayer: Lord, help me to live a sanctified life. Amen. Not yet saved? Dressed For Work

Ephesians 6:13 (NET) For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your ground on the evil day, and having done everything to stand. Most professions have a dress code. Doctors do, lawyers do, athletes do and as the name goes, so do men of the uniform. Every item that makes up their dress code is carefully and thoughtfully selected to aid the efficiency of the professional. Usain Bolt would never run a 100meter dash in 9.58 seconds if he was geared in the clothes of a marine. And the dress of the surgeon will do the policeman no good when he encounters miscreants on patrol. The believer is a member of God’s workforce, God’s army, and will in the cause of his duty be contending not with flesh and blood but with principalities and powers, spiritual wickedness in high places and rulers of the darkness of this world. Therefore, to stand and to withstand every device of the enemy, the believer must be fully dressed. No half measures. The armor was designed to work best with all the components fully in place. Each day must find us fully dressed ready to work and to war. With our armor on, we outlive the evil day. We walk in victory, when the enemy throws fiery darts at us we quench it. We stand firm even when the storm rages and the billows roar. We take our stand and stand our ground yielding no ground to the devil. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. (Ephesians 6:14-18 NLT). Go into today dressed in the whole armor of God. Prayer: Lord, help me always put on the whole armor and stand for you. Not yet saved? Sanctification 2

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (ESV) Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Sharon would say, “It is my flesh that committed that sin, my spirit is holy and cannot sin”. Even though this sounds ludicrous, Sharon was correct to an extent, but she was fundamentally very wrong because man is not judged for what his spirit did or what his flesh did, man is judged for what he did. Whether it was your flesh that committed the sin or it was your spirit, you committed the sin. A sin like hatred is never really committed by the flesh, but by the spirit. It is a defilement of the spirit that ultimately leads to the defilement of the flesh when blood is in the hand of the hater because of murder. That is the same with the sin of malice that leads to hatred, and can ultimately lead to murder. It is very important to note that God does not look at the body, but at the heart when he is dealing with man. Every uncleanliness that is manifested in the flesh is because the seed was left to grow in the heart. Immorality is a very good example. No one just falls into immorality without the seed of lust allowed to grow in his heart. The old covenant saints only knew how to sanctify the body, their spirits were as unclean as they could be, that was why it was possible for them to hate and kill Jesus. Go into today remembering that the Lord has done what you could never do. He has sanctified your spirit and this is the reason you can fellowship with the father and receive grace for the sanctification of the soul and the body. Prayer: Thank you Lord for sanctifying me. Help me walk accordingly in Jesus’ name. Amen. Not born again? Click here ☞ www.streamglobe.org/33 —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Bible Plan: Genesis 28-31 Streamglobe is nondenominational. Set Apart For Holy Use

John 17:17 (AMP) Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the truth. Your Word is Truth. Jide had always wanted to do great things for God. He remembers the day he was saved as though it were yesterday. So great was his gratitude to God that he vowed to spend his days serving God, reaching the nations and drawing millions to Christ. However, some years down the line and it looked as though nothing were happening. Instead of the big call to do great things for God, he had instead been stuck in a rot. He was getting a bit disillusioned and was beginning to wonder if perhaps God was even willing to use him. Jesus praying for His disciples shortly before his death prayed the Father to not take away the disciples from the world but rather to sanctify them with the truth. The idea of sanctification connotes being set apart for holy use. Where ‘holy use’ does not primarily refer to the usage but rather to the User–God. As far as the believer is garbed in this jar of clay, he remains God’s worker waiting to be posted to any assignment of God’s choosing. However, God will use those who have made themselves available for His use and are usable. The day you got born again, you got initiated into God’s workforce, however, you need to report to duty and be given the proper training, tools, and work plan for the work. God’s word, accompanied with prayer, is God’s instrument for beating the believer into shape for duty. As you abide in the word and give yourself to it, the word will work on you by the Spirit of Truth to become available and usable. The truth of God’s word sets you apart for holy use. You will begin to think His thoughts, you get plugged into His frequency and you will find your place in his team and your name on his roster. Jide began to actively seek the Lord in prayer and meditation on His word, all the while jettisoning his grandiose plans of ministry. He found God’s plan for his life begin to unfold before his eyes. And step after step of faith and obedience, he walked deeper and farther into God’s divine call for his life. Remember, if you allow the world, it will beat you into its own mold. But if you allow the word, it will transform you so you can do the good, perfect and acceptable will of God. Go for the word. Prayer: Lord, sanctify me and me usable for your good purpose. Amen. Sanctification

1 Thessalonians 4:3 (ESV) For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality. Benji had accepted Christ, but he needed to be sanctified unto the Lord if he was going to go the distance with the Lord. Because he was not sanctified, nor was he ready for this, it seemed impossible for him to even receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. When some believe, they lay everything on the altar. They want to go the distance with the Lord and are willing to leave all and follow the Lord. The Lord sees their willingness and baptizes them [in the Holy Spirit] to empower them to do what they now have the will to do, but have no power of their own to do. However, there are many others that even though they believe in the Lord Jesus, they are not willing to go the distance with the Lord yet. They still carry some weights that they are not willing to drop. It would be difficult for such to even receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is too big to share you with another. There is nothing that hinders sanctification like sexual immorality. Anyone still desiring to continue in immorality cannot go the distance with the Lord. And he may wonder why the Holy Spirit does not respond to him accordingly. Sanctification means that you have decided to surrender everything that is contrary to the will of Christ your Lord. These include unholy relationships and friendships, habits, desires, worldly ambitions affections, etc. When the will is there, the Holy Spirit comes to empower you. Go into today remembering that you cannot walk in the fullness of your divine destiny without sanctification. Ask the Lord to sanctify you through and through (see 1 Thes 5:23). Not born again? Honor Your Father and Mother

Join Streamglobe Word Encounter Audio LiveStream Today by 11AM GMT +1 here: www.facebook.com/streamglobe Ephesians 6:2-3 (KJV)  ‘‘Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise). That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.’’ The following conversation ensued between Ayo and her friend Joy: Ayo: My network is bad, please can I borrow your wifi? Joy: What do you need the internet for so urgently? Ayo: I need to send some money to my parents Joy; Oh, Okay O. Ayo: Hope you’ll send something to your Mum too? Joy: No, I won’t.  She’s not born again and I don’t want to be involved with her. Ayo: Ah! She’s your mother! Remember she’s a widow and you’re her only child. Joy: So? see, I don’t know what she’ll do with the money, she often visits witch doctors. Ayo: You can call her at least and send her some foodstuff and groceries. Joy: I can’t Ayo, don’t you get it? I’m in the light and she’s in darkness, we don’t have anything in common. Ayo tried to convince Joy but couldn’t.  Even when she told Joy that honoring her mother is a command from God, joy would not budge. Joy was a regular victim of demonic attacks because her life was ruled by fear and not by God’s word. A true believer who walks in the light[of God’s word cannot walk in any bondage. Just like Joy, so many are violating the Lord’s commandment today and wouldn’t take care of their parents. They do this claiming that darkness and light have nothing in common. Note however that the Scripture didn’t say “obey your unbelieving parents, instead, it says, “honor [them]”. One of the ways to communicate honor is by giving your substance (Proverbs 3:9). Even when your parents are rich and do not need you to take care of them, it is still required that you honor them (give them a regular honorarium) because they are your parents. Go into today knowing that if you don’t honor your parents, you’re disobeying God (Leviticus 19:21). Read Exodus 20:12. Obeying this commandment of God comes with a promise of blessings(see Ephesians 6:2-3). Prayer: Ask God to forgive you if you have not honored your parents in the past. Make amends and begin to walk in the light of God’s word and glory. Not yet saved?
