Sinning Willfully

Hebrews 10:26-27 (KJV)  For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. God placed Adam in a garden (Gen 2:15), gave him instructions (Gen 2:15-17), and later, his wife whom he called woman (Gen 2: 21-24). In the space of time, the devil came to the woman and eventually deceived her so that she disobeyed God and ate the fruit she should not have eaten. Eve gave the forbidden fruit to her husband, he ate it and their eyes were “opened”. They now knew shame and nakedness (Gen 3:7). The woman ate the fruit first and was normal but as soon as Adam ate the same fruit, they both knew that they were naked and were ashamed. Why did the knowledge of nakedness and shame have to wait for Adam? 1 Timothy 2:14 (KJV)  And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Simply put, Adam sinned willfully not because he was deceived like the woman. Whenever a child of God continues to sin willfully, he is daring the wrath of God, and like Adam, such a one is in the danger of suffering nakedness, shame and banishment from the presence of God. See Gen 3.22-34. The more you grow in the knowledge of God, the more you should hate sin because every sin has the same aim of sending you out of God’s presence. Go into today making up your mind to always hate sin. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you with this. Prayer: Lord, help me grow in faithfulness to you. Lead me not into temptation, and deliver me from [doing] evil. Amen. —Dr. Emmanuel James Bible In One Year: Luke 3-4 No Online Bible Study on Sundays Streamglobe is Nondenominational. The Mind of A True Apostle 2

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (NET)  My conversation and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not be based on human wisdom but on the power of God. We saw earlier that one reason Paul chose to abide with the Corinthians in ‘weakness, fear and trembling’(1 Cor 2:3) was because he did everything possible to make them understand that he was an ordinary human being like them, even though he did very many superhuman things. He did this because he wanted them to put their trust in the Lord Jesus alone when they saw the demonstration of the spirit and power of God. If he didn’t do this, there was the possibility that their trust will also be on him because of the superhuman things that he did. For this same reason, Apostle Paul chose not to preach to them with persuasive words of human wisdom, but with the demonstration of the Spirit and power of God. He was introducing the people to Jesus by showing them His power. They believed in Jesus because they saw proof of His existence and superiority. Even though the Corinthians were in a society where the manifestation of supernatural power was common, the power of God (as it always does) proved itself to be superior, and this brought them to submit to Christ as Lord. Apart from the fact that the words that Apostle Paul spoke were loaded with power that caused people to be convicted and repent, this power also caused miracles and wonders to happen. Go into today asking the Lord to fill you with the power and make you an able minister of the new testament. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 37-41 Join Our Interactive Online Bible Study Today by 2pm (GMT +1). Words of Power

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (NET) My conversation and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not be based on human wisdom but on the power of God. It is on record that when Billy Graham traveled long hours to preach, he spent most of the time praying. It is also on record that his words were not empty words, but they were packed with the power of God to convict people and draw them to salvation. Note that Paul said my conversation and preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom. So he preached with words, but the purpose of his words was not primarily to persuade or wow people, it was to transmit spirit and power. Words can transmit knowledge and wisdom and that is the most common application of words. But words can also be used to transmit spirit and life (power). This was the way Jesus used His words when He preached. He said, “the words that I speak to you are spirit and life” (see John 6:63). Those who listened to Jesus said no one ever spoke the way He spoke because the effect of His speaking was different from what they were used to (see John 7:46, Luke 24:32). The way Jesus spoke and preached should also be the way we speak and preach because as the Father sent Him, so has He sent us (John 20:21). We must use our words primarily to transmit spirit and life when preaching. Go into today knowing that before your words can transmit power, you have to be full of power yourself. Those who walk in this dimension are people of prayer. Prayer is the surest way to make much power available (see James 5:16).  —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Job 39-40 Join Our Interactive Online Bible Study Today by 2pm (GMT +1). The Kingdom Principle Of Faithfulness

Matthew 25:23 (KJV)  His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Larry became really envious of Sunday who had become a great man celebrated by many the world over. He didn’t understand why Sunday became so great and not him because they used to be really close when they were much younger, and he saw that he was more intelligent, gifted, and talented than Sunday. Larry always believed that God had destined him for greatness, but he was not experiencing any of it. All he saw were struggles.  He almost fell into what some call a mid-life crisis, because he was already over 45, and it was now looking clear to him that he was not going to be as successful and great as he had always hoped. As Larry continued to study why people enter into their greatness, he observed a principle that was greatly lacking in his life. He saw that unlike his friend Sunday, he was not a very faithful and reliable person. He was never really consistent at anything that didn’t give instant gratification. He observed that God gave greatness, but one of the principles of greatness in the kingdom of God is faithfulness in the little and in another man’s work(see Luke 16:10,12). Unlike Sunday, he was too proud to be committed to anything that didn’t originate from him. There are different ways of attaining greatness in this world, but greatness in the kingdom of God can only be received by those who are faithful in the little. When you have been faithful in little, much will be given to you –that is the kingdom way (see Luke 16:10,12). Many stars have fallen because they shined before they were proven with faithfulness. It is possible to expose yourself and orchestrate your shining, but if your greatness is not from the Lord, you will have to continue to employ your gimmicks to sustain it, and a time would come that you would run out of them. Go into today remembering that God only promotes those who have shown faithfulness in the little things. Remember also that they that compare themselves with themselves are not wise (2 Corinthians 10:12). Prayer: Lord, give me grace and wisdom to be faithful and consistent. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Psalms 57-59 Join Our Interactive Online Bible Study Today by 2 pm (GMT +1). ZOOM Meeting ID: 536206651 Streamglobe is Nondenominational. The Mind of A True Apostle

1 Corinthians 2:3-4 (NKJV) I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power If you read the verses above, they may appear contradictory at first. Apostle Paul talks here about being with the Corinthians in weakness and much trembling, and yet in the same breath, he is talking about demonstrating the spirit and power of God. ‘I was with you in weakness and much trembling’. What does this mean? This means Paul made it very clear to everyone that he was just an ordinary human being like them. He refused to elevate himself to superhuman status even though he did very many superhuman things. For example, there was a time some of the people he preached to in Lystra wanted to begin worshiping him as a god (Acts 14:14). He tore his clothes and revealed his flesh just to make it clear to them that he was an ordinary human being like them. I can imagine that happening to some ministers today. They would sit on the throne offered to them and say something like ‘after all, the scriptures say we are gods. We even have more authority than these idols they are claiming we are’. Such ministers can never raise disciples who will grow from being spiritual babes. Because Paul made it clear to the people that he was a mortal human like them, when they saw the manifestation of the Spirit and power of God, they knew it wasn’t Paul working but Christ working through Paul. Therefore, their faith was in Christ and not in Paul. Go into today remembering that when people have their faith divided between men and God, they will not be able to grow in their knowledge of God. The Corinthian believers remained babes because of this very reason. Some said I am of Paul, others Apollos, etc. (see 1 Cor 3:1-4). —Abraham Damilola Arigi YBR: II Samuel 15-19 Join Our Interactive Online Bible Study Today by 2pm(GMT +1). Are You Growing in Faith and Love?

2 Thessalonians 1:3-4 (NET) We ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith flourishes more and more and the love of each one of you all for one another is ever greater. As a result we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and afflictions you are enduring. Gregory received Jesus Christ as his Lord because he was surrounded by challenges and coming to Jesus truly brought him relief. But as he studied the Bible, he found out that there were men who died because of their faith in Christ. What is the difference between me and these other persons? He would ask. Wanting to answer this question, he began to study how the Apostles of Christ lived and he soon discovered that they all had something in common: they all endured persecutions. If all you know about God are his gifts and benevolence, you certainly are a child. Every responsible adult has responsibilities, most of which would require some level of endurance. An Adult son of God might willingly go through pain not because he cannot escape, but because he knows that his pain will bring relief, succor, and freedom to other children of God. The way to know that you are growing in faith and love is by measuring how much you are willing and able to give and endure for Christ. It is through men such as this that God’s power is made manifest in its fullness. If you desire God’s power in its undiluted form, you must be willing to endure anything for Christ (see Romans 8:17, 2 Timothy 2:12). Meditate on Mark 10:29-31 as you go about your business today. ‘‘And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s. But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last first. Prayer: I receive grace to grow in faith and love in Jesus’ name, Amen. —Dr. Emmanuel James Bible in One Year: II Corinthians 9-10 Download Sermons Here: www.streamglobe.org/34 Join Our Interactive Online Bible Study Today by 2pm(GMT +1). Divine Access Protocols

1 Corinthians 1:30-31 (NKJV)  But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God–and righteousness and sanctification and redemption– that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” Before Ogundare became a believer, he had gone very far in the occult and was exposed to the depths of darkness. He had a business competition with a believer and decided to take the battle to the spirit realm so that he would have the upper hand. This was when he discovered that God was eternity’s Holy King, and Christians are indeed God’s children that He watches jealously. What made Ogundare become a believer was his realization that Christians had access to a relationship with this God. Because he understood spiritual things and spiritual protocols, he wondered how it was possible for ordinary mortal human beings to have a relationship with such a Holy and great God. Even great spirits could not attain to this standard. He understood that relationship with spiritual dignitaries required spiritual wisdom, and he knew that ordinary human beings could never possess the wisdom required to relate to Almighty God. He later discovered that Jesus was made the wisdom of God for us, and it is through Him and because of Him that we have a relationship with God. There are four major requirements for having a relationship with Almighty God, and they are mentioned in today’s Bible verses. They are redemption, sanctification, righteousness, and [spiritual] wisdom. We as sinful mortal beings could never attain these. Christ Jesus has become these for us [who believe in Him], that is why we are able to have a relationship with God. This is the reason why no one who truly knows God can take credit for it. He will always be grateful to Jesus. Go into today thanking the Lord for being the reason you have a relationship with Almighty God. —Abraham Damilola Arigi YBR: II Corinthians 9-10 Join Our Interactive Online Bible Study Today by 2pm(GMT +1). Redeemed From All Curses

Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Sesugh believed very strongly that his family was under the influence of a curse. He saw things that made him begin to believe that he too was now beginning to suffer the effect of this curse. When he discussed this situation with his pastor who he had seen demonstrate the great power of God to heal and deliver in the past, his pastor asked him if he had believed in the Lord Jesus. He said he had. Pastor Dan: Have you been Baptised in the Holy Ghost? Sesugh: I’m not sure sir. Pastor Dan: if you’re not sure, then you’ve not been baptized. If you’ve been baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of tongues, you’ll be sure. If you read Galatians 3:13-14, you will see that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by being made a curse for us. He replaced our curses with the unbeatable blessings of Abraham. But the proof that we have received this is that we receive the gift of the Spirit. After this conversation with his pastor, Sesugh was now eager so to be Baptised in the Holy Spirit and to speak in tongues. Before, he could care less. Curses are in different categories and with different degrees of power. The most powerful curses are ‘the curse of the law’. These are curses declared by God Himself and enforced by the power of heaven because God and His laws were handled with contempt. Even the curses of the law enforced by heaven are removed by the sacrifice of Christ on the cross, how much more weaker curses of demons and principalities? The proof that a believer has been delivered from generational and other curses and has received the blessing of Abraham instead is that he receives the gift of the Holy Spirit by faith(see Galatians 3:14). It is through the Holy Spirit that we appropriate our blessings in Christ and walk above the power of curses. Go into today remembering to celebrate the Holy Ghost within you and pray in the Holy Ghost daily. Praying in the spirit is a sure way to appropriate your daily dose of the blessing. Remember that all things of the Spirit are received and appropriated by faith, so quit believing that you are under any curse and start believing that you have the blessing of Abraham. Prayer Confession: Because Christ was made a curse for me on the cross, I cannot be under any curse. I walk in the blessings of Abraham, I walk daily in the Spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen. -Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Luke 1-2 Join Our Interactive Online Bible Study Today by 2pm(GMT +1). ZOOM Meeting ID: 536206651 Streamglobe is Nondenominational. In Whom Do You Trust?

Psalms 91:2 (NKJV) …My God, in Him I will trust.” After Lekan graduated from the University, it took him some time to get a good job. His uncle was the managing director of a big company, and he expected that his uncle would naturally help him secure a good job. But it just didn’t happen. After waiting and waiting for his uncle, he decided to turn to God and pray. This was when he realized that concerning getting a good job, his trust was never really in the Lord, but in his uncle. (See Jer 17:5, Psa 146:3). Whoever you put your trust in and depend on is the one who is your God. The reason why the Lord warns us against serving Mammon (even more than He warns us against serving the devil) is because it is very easy for a person to trust in his money and lean on the strength of mammon. Rich people fall into this trap more than the poor because they, more than other people, know the power of money. That is why the Lord particularly warns His children who are rich in this world not to put their trust in money (see 1 Tim 6:17). The way to trust in God is to acknowledge that all good things come from Him and He uses anyone and anything to help you. This means you now see people and systems as only channels that God uses and never as your source of help. You understand that God is your help, with or without them. Go into today remembering that it is better to trust in the Lord than in any other. People fail, money fails, but they that trust in the Lord will not be moved (see Psalm 125:1). Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you trust Him with all your heart always. -Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 32-36 Join Our Interactive Online Bible Study Today by 2pm(GMT +1). Christ Dwells In You By Faith

Ephesians 3:17 (KJV) That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love… After Aarav accepted the Lord Jesus, because he lived in a neighborhood where idol worship was predominant, he felt greatly suffocated spiritually. One of the Hindu priests in his family knew through divination that Aarav was now born again. He appeared to Aarav in his dream and threatened that he would have no peace until he comes back to Hinduism to continue the family legacy of the priesthood. Aarav thought it was merely a dream until he met this priest physically in a family function and he did not answer Aarav’s greeting but responded to him by saying “as I said the other day, you would not have peace if you don’t renounce that perverted faith and come back to our family tradition”. Aarav became really afraid, and from that day, he started having nightmares of snakes and crocodiles trying to eat him. He was so troubled that he started losing weight terribly. It was his weight loss that his pastor saw and observed that something was wrong. When Aarav told his pastor what was going on, his pastor smiled and told him that he was suffering because he did not realize that Christ was now dwelling in him. As soon as Aarav understood and accepted the truth that  Christ was dwelling in him, those evil dreams ceased. He was no longer afraid and even his tone of prayer changed from that of weakness to that of authority. We can see from today’s scripture that christ dwells in us by faith. If you do not know and believe that Christ dwells in you and act according to that knowledge, even though you are a believer, your life would be as if Christ does not dwell in you. The reality of Christ’s presence in the heart of a believer is activated by the faith of that believer. Go into today remembering that Christ dwells in you if you believe in Him. Let this truth guide your life and choices. This is how to live a victorious life. Prayer Confession: Christ dwells in me. I am an overcomer. I possess my possessions and walk in the blessing In Jesus’ name, Amen. Not yet saved? Click here ☞ streamglobe.org/33 —Pst.
