God’s Educational System

Titus 2:11-13 (NET) For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, as we wait for the happy fulfillment of our hope in the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. After Byrum believed in the Lord Jesus, he was baptized in the Holy Ghost, and as a result, was empowered by the Spirit to overcome his addictions and live a godly life. This happened because he submitted to the instructions of righteousness given to him by his pastor. He had to change his apartment because his neighbor was his drug dealer. He had to leave his old friends and totally disconnect from his old way of living. He was filed with the Spirit and was taught to stay filled. In this way, his body was empowered by the indwelling Holy Spirit(Romans 8:11) and he could cope with the withdrawal from the drugs. He spent a lot of time praying and singing in the Spirit because he needed to stay filled with the spirit. The infilling of the Holy Spirit affects even our mortal bodies. One of the things the grace of God would teach us is that “bad company corrupts…(see 1 Corinthians 15:33). Those who are taught by grace become very particular about the company they keep. They guard their hearts with all diligence by guarding the information they feed into it. We saw yesterday that the grace of God trains us or teaches us how to reject ungodly ways and fleshly lusts. There are very practical things we must be willing to do in keeping with the teaching of grace. We must be willing to forsake our worldly ways and deny the flesh. Go into today remembering that as a student of grace, you have to be willing to obey the demands of God’s kingdom for your life. This is the only way to allow the divine life to excel over the old life. Prayer: Heavenly Father, please lead me to your green pastures and help me be fed and led by your living word. Help me to live a godly and fruitful life. In Jesus name. Amen. -Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: Proverbs 13 (In Devotional Audio) To start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio early every day, join a Streamglobe WhatsApp Group here☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/CYDEektzeoDGfKQLznVAx5 http://listen.streamglobe.org/Devotional%20Audio%202071.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

Strange Teachers Arising

1 Corinthians 4:18-19 (KJV) Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. Pastor Jide: stop listening to those pastors, they don’t understand the gospel. They only minister condemnation. Segun: But Pastor, these pastors are the ones who brought the gospel to us with great power from God and caused our entire communities to turn from idols to Christ Jesus. How come you keep saying these same people do not understand the gospel? Segun observed that pastor Jide had no real power in his ministry to make disciples, but he claimed everyone else was wrong and he was right. When Apostle Paul left the Corinthians and moved on to the next mission field, some other apostles like Apollos graciously went to Corinth to help water what Paul had already planted. But there were also other teachers who arose, and these teachers felt they had an understanding of the gospel contrary to what was preached by Paul, Apollos, and the other apostles of the Lord. One thing characterized these teachers, they were full of words but no power. And they were puffed up but had no real spiritual authority. Today, such teachers have arisen in the church. They criticize everyone who does not subscribe to their warped version of the gospel. They are arrogant and have little regard for scriptures (except those that appear to support their doctrines). These teachers are the worst thing that can happen to any true believers who is not yet spiritually mature. Go into today asking the Lord to deliver the church in your nation from false teachers. Ask the Lord to deliver you from the influence of all such teachers. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Psalms 87-89 (in today’s audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational. Faith and a Good Conscience

1 Timothy 1:18-19 (NET)  I put this charge before you, Timothy my child, in keeping with the prophecies once spoken about you, in order that with such encouragement you may fight the good fight. To do this you must hold firmly to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck in regard to the faith. When Jide started meditating on the word of God and praying every day, he observed that his faith started to grow. He knew this because he was no more as fearful as he used to be, and he was now more thankful and complained less. He also observed that his words and prayers were now so much more powerful. Some things happened in the office and Jide had to write a report filled with lies. He observed instantly that after preparing that report, he lost his peace and confidence of faith. He used to wake up every morning with an atmosphere of victory in his spirit because his heart was filled with faith, but after he wrote that report, because of a guilty conscience, his faith was fractured and his inner joy compromised. He had to rewrite that report and tell the truth even though the truth was not as beneficial as the lies he had first told. This was when he regained his peace. We can learn from today’s Bible verse that in order for us to wage a good Warfare we are to hold unto faith and a good conscience. The word of God is the way through which faith comes to our hearts and grows, but a guilty or defiled conscience is the fastest way through which the faith of a believer can be eroded or even shipwrecked. Any believer that wants to walk in great faith would be careful not to walk in such a way that his conscience is defiled. Sin causes defilement of conscience, there is no way around this. Go into today remembering to build your life on God’s word. Determine to start your day in God’s Word and watch your faith grow. Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me daily grow in faith and walk in your perfect plan for my life, In Jesus’ name. Amen. Awake From Your Sleep

Genesis 28:16 (KJV) And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not. After Jacob had stolen the blessing from Esau his brother, he had to run for his life. Even though he had the blessing and God’s Covenant Presence, he never walked in this reality but lived a troubled life until he had the encounter that brought him into his divine Identify. This happened when for the first time, he acknowledged his sinful ways reflected in the name and identity he was known by. One of the meanings ascribed to the name Jacob is supplanter, and Jacob lived up to that unrighteous reputation. But when he received a new name and identity from the Lord, his future [and destiny] was no more laden with uncertainty but with the blessing that produced God’s firstborn nation. Like Jacob, many have encountered God, but because they have not conquered their fleshly identity, they are still very limited and oppressed. God revealed himself to Jacob in Bethel (Gen 28:12), but he continued life as a troubled man until he confessed his old identity and received his new identity from God (see Genesis 32:27-28). Many Born again, Holy Ghost filled, tongue talking believers with many heavenly encounters have found that their lives do not reveal the glory and fruitfulness of a blessed life. What might be wrong? Go into today knowing that, except you overcome the works and identity of the flesh, and live a life consistent with your new identity in Christ, your encounters may not translate to much fruitfulness in your daily life. Prayer: Lord, help me to walk in my new identity and live a blessed fruitful life, in Jesus’ name. Fighting to Overcome

Apart from being physically fit and having the right weapons, battle formation, and tactics, every serious military unit understands the power of morale. If the soldiers are depressed and discouraged, they may lose the battle even if they have the best weapons and skill set. We can see from today’s scripture that prophecies bring encouragement and with such encouragement we are to fight the good fight. There are specific prophecies that you may have received concerning your life, such should be remembered and used as a weapon of spiritual warfare because the prophecies are the word of God and we know that the word of God is the sword of the Spirit. There are also general prophecies concerning us in scripture. Meditating upon the word of God until such promises and prophesies become yours is as powerful as remembering the specific prophecies spoken to you by God. But notice from today’s scripture that in order to fight the good fight you must hold firmly to faith and a good conscience. Those whose consciences are defiled will not have the morale for spiritual Warfare and victory. A defiled conscience punctures and erodes faith, and without faith, we cannot overcome because the victory that overcomes the world is our faith (1 John 5:4). Go into today remembering that life in this present world is an opportunity for you to be an Overcomer. This means there is Warfare. The only way we can continue to overcome is if we hold unto faith and a good conscience. Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you avoid anything that causes defilement of conscience. want to be saved? Honor Your Father and Mother

1 Corinthians 4:15 (NET) For though you may have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, because I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel. Kaura was facing unending battles and challenges. He knew something was fundamentally wrong spiritually, but he could not place his finger on it. As he continued to seek the Lord to find out where the problem was, the Lord sent a prophet to tell him that he needs to start honoring his father as a thing of necessity. He immediately knew that the Lord wanted him to connect with his father in the Lord who he never really honored. When his father in the Lord started praying for him, things became well with him? When the Lord said we should not call anyone father, but God (Matt 23:9), there was a context to this statement. In that culture, Father was not just the male parent of a household, but someone considered to be the source and sustainer of the household. So what the Lord is saying is that we should not consider any man to be our source, sustainer, or provider. Only God is our source and sustainer, even though He uses men to help us as He pleases. The Lord was not banning the use of the word ‘father’ because He is the one who commanded us to honor our fathers and mothers(see Eph 6:1). Your salvation was not a coincidence, and the person through whom it came to you was not a coincidence either. Just like those through whom God sent us into this world are our fathers (and God approves of this characterization), those through whom we got into the kingdom of God are our fathers or mothers also. I do not mean those who got us to pray the ‘sinner’s prayer’ the very first time we did, I mean those through whom we came to know the Lord in reality. Go into today remembering that it is wrong to see any man as your sustainer and pillar in life. Also, remember that we are to honor our fathers and mothers, so that it may be well with us (see Eph 6:1). —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Luke 21-22 (in today’s audio) Get sermons here☞ streamglobe.org/34 Streamglobe is nondenominational. Strengthened by the Spirit

Ephesians 3:16 (KJV) That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man Larry heard his wife crying in the bathroom and felt really bad because of the sharp words he had spoken to her. He regretted those words and wished he could unsay them. This was not the first time that week that Larry was acting and speaking out of control. As he investigated why his temper had become so short and his words no more seasoned with salt, he observed that it was because his spirit was now weak. He needed strength in his inner man. Everyone who has new birth in Christ has an inner man that has been recreated in the image of God (Colossians 3:10). This inner man wars against the flesh and the flesh against it. The stronger the inner man, the less the person would walk in the flesh, but if the inner man is weak, it would be easy for the flesh to dominate the person. It is by the Spirit of God that we are strengthened with power in the inner man. Apostle Paul understood that when believers don’t have strength in their inner-man, they would not be able to walk properly as sons of God, this was why he prayed for the brethren that God would grant unto them this strength(see Ephesians 3:15-17). The stronger you are in the inner man the more you can manifest the divine nature and walk in the power of God. The word of God is spirit and life. This is a source of strength for the inner man. Through the diet word, we grow into the fullness of our stature, which is a powerful one. Prayer is another way we receive strength because when we pray, our spirits fellowship with God, and His strength is transmitted to us in the process. Go into today remembering that strength in your inner man is the secret to living victoriously in Christ. Many are attacked and faint because their strength is little. Determine to give yourself to the ministry of the Word and prayer so that you will be strengthened. Prayer: Father, please strengthen me with power by your Spirit in my inner man. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: Ezekiel 31-36 Streamglobe is nondenominational. Discerning His Will

Mark 16:16 (NET) The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned. I remember preaching to a young man. While preaching, the power of God came so mightily that through word of knowledge I knew many secret things about him. I told him some of them and that was a sign that led to him confessing the Lord Jesus. I wanted so much to get him baptized and disciple him, but I was led against that. I knew he was not my disciple. As events will unfold in the future, it became clear to me that someone else would be the one to disciple him. The Lord can give you personal instructions that may look outside the norm, but they still will not contradict His will as revealed in scripture. If the Lord restrains you from doing something you think is needful, it is because he has arranged for someone else to do it. I have seen some ministers leave disciples unbaptized, and many quote Apostle Paul who said the Lord did not send him to baptize but only to preach. They forget that the people Paul was writing to were already baptized by the time he wrote to them. To baptize disciples is a commandment of the Lord and everyone who believes should be baptized. (See Matt 28:19). Apostle Paul was not instructed to baptize the Corinthians because the Lord wanted other ministers to baptize and disciple them. The wisdom of the Lord in instructing Paul to only preach was revealed when Paul had to use that as one of his greatest points to prove to the Corinthians that he was not called to disciple them, but Apollos was. He said ‘I planted, Apollos watered… ‘(1 Cor 3:6). Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you rightly discern His will. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: Proverbs 11-12 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. God’s Eternal Plan

Luke 17:20-21(KJV) …the kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Right from the foundation of the world God intended to extend His Kingdom from heaven to earth. His eternal plan, which would be manifested, according to the scriptures, is to establish His reign here on earth. The physical dimension and takeover of God’s kingdom over this earth would happen when the Lord returns with His saints and the kingdoms of this world become the kingdom of our God and of His Christ. We shall literally reign over every territory of this earth for a thousand years(see Revelation 20:4), and we would reign forever over the new heavens and earth that would come after (see Revelation 21). Satan thought he had won when he got Adam to sin. When Jesus came into the scene, satan had Him killed and thought he had won again. Both Satan and his demons never knew the wisdom of God “…for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory”(1 Corinthians 2:8). Jesus Christ is the real deal. He came to establish the Kingdom of God here on earth. Today, everyone that accepts the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and believes in Him has the kingdom of God literary within them. Such who live lives submitted to the kingdom is an heir of the throne of the kingdom (Romans 8:17) and is going to reign with Christ at the physical establishment of that Kingdom (Revelation 3:21). When asked by the Pharisees about the kingdom, He said, “…the kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” He was telling them that the Kingdom of God had come already. Many of them did not believe in Him because they expected a more spectacular arrival of the kingdom, but that was how they missed out. Jesus was the physical carrier of the kingdom but they knew it not. We are carriers of the kingdom but the world does not know. God is fulfilling His eternal plan through us already, for as more people receive Christ as Lord and Saviour, the more the Kingdom of God is spreading. As you go into today, remember that you are a carrier of God’s kingdom. This is an awesome privilege. Prayer: Dear Father, I thank You for Your eternal plan and I thank You for making me part of it. As a carrier of Your Kingdom, I go ahead today, recruiting more people to be part of the Kingdom. I am not slack towards it, as I look forward to the establishment of the Kingdom physically, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Want to be saved? Walking In The Call

1 Corinthians 4:9 (NET) For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as men condemned to die, because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to people. When Collins started becoming interested in serving the Lord, naturally, he wanted to be at the peak of this service. After being in church for a while, he observed that many considered the office of the apostle to be the highest in the body of Christ. Because of this, he wanted also to be an apostle. Because he was really committed and dedicated to the work in his local church, he was soon ordained as a minister. But still, he wanted to be called an apostle. One morning, he was studying the word of God when he came across today’s Bible verse. He read it again and again, and this really scared him. From that moment, he started changing his mind concerning his dream to someday become an apostle. Whether a person is an apostle, or a prophet, or an evangelist, or a pastor and teacher, is not really his decision to make. These things are determined by God from before the person is born (see Gal 1:15, Jer 1:5). But whether a person ends up walking in God’s call for his life is dependent on how he responds to God during the days of his sojourning here on earth. Many indeed are called, but few are chosen. The difference between the chosen and the rest is faithfulness (Rev 17:14). God doesn’t entrust much to the unfaithful (see Luke 16:10). I do not believe that everyone who has the call to be an apostle must necessarily die for the faith (Apostle John didn’t die the death of a martyr), but I believe that everyone who must effectively walk in his call must have the mindset of an apostle. One that is willing to give up his life (if need be) for the sake of the gospel (see Luke 14:26, Rev 12:11). Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you fulfill His call for your Life. This is the most important thing in life. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: II Kings 11-15 Streamglobe is nondenominational.
