James 1:6-7 (NET) But he must ask in faith without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed around by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord

Damola asked the Lord to expand his business but was behaving in a way that proved that he was not really expecting his prayer to be answered. This was the reason he never received from the Lord. He was double-minded because his expectation was different from his request. He voiced his desire to God in prayer, but his expectation was the opposite.

What does it mean to ask in faith? It means asking, believing that you will receive what you have asked. It means after you ask for something, you expect it to happen, without a doubt. This means if you ask the Lord for something, you begin to prepare to receive it. You do not say ‘I might receive it’, you say ‘I receive it’.

Asking in faith means your expectations and your desire are now one. You absolutely expect to receive what you have asked for.

God would not usually give us things that are against His will for us, so it is important for us to know His will through His word so that we may not ask amiss.

Go into today remembering that it is always God’s will for you to walk in wisdom (Eph 5:17, Prov 8, Matt 10:16).

Prayer: Father, I ask that you help me know your will and pray according to it. Amen.
