Romans 14:17 (AMP) The kingdom of God is not a matter of food and drink, but instead it is righteousness (that state which makes a person acceptable to God) and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Because of her remarkable business management success, Daramola was appointed to a very coveted political office in her country. She was foretold about this through prophecy. The first question she asked herself when God told her she would be appointed was ‘how can I use this influential position for kingdom advancement? ’

Daramola learned that one way you can advance the agenda of the kingdom of God is by advancing righteousness and justice, peace and harmony, and doing everything within your power to make people within your influence joyful and fulfilled. Righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost are signs that the kingdom of God is reigning in a place. As time passes, people will realize that the greatest improvement they see is because a child of God is in charge.

Christians should always ask this question: ‘how can I use the influence I have right now for the advancement and the agenda of the kingdom?’ Many times, Christians unknowingly separate themselves from God’s kingdom agenda because they do not realize that they have been called to be co-owners of the kingdom (see Rom 8:17). They do not understand that they have a portion in God’s kingdom that increases with their faithfulness (see Luke 16:10).

When we have this mindset of seeking the advancement of God’s kingdom above our fleshly interests, we will find that the things that the world runs after will now run after us (see Mat 6:33).

Go into today knowing that you are an agent for the advancement of God’s kingdom. Ask the Lord to help you do this in every place you find yourself.
