Proverbs 13:4 (KJV)
The soul of the sluggard desireth and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
Dayo and Greg did the same things, but the results showed that Greg was diligent. Like Dayo, many have lived a general life, their decisions and actions are a result of their surroundings and the influence of men. They run when they see others running and stop when everyone stops, they are therefore pegged to a life of the average.
Diligence entails that you fulfil your own part of the contract; the contract between you and God, which He reveals as His will for you (popularly accepted as destiny). Give your attention and care to searching through prayer, study, learning, and acquisition of new skills in the direction of God’s calling for you.
God is a rewarder; he rewards diligence and not just hard work. Hard work in the wrong direction is as futile as planting maize and hoping to harvest orange; it will never happen. The only thing that reward answers to is diligence.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that DILIGENTLY seek him.”
Go into today, making up your mind to fulfill your part of the contract by being diligent. Remember that God has given His will and His part is unchangeable!
