Ephesians 6:10 (KJV) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Segun was a prayer warrior because he understood the wickedness of the wicked and how the power of God could put them in check. He was from a village known for its notorious witches. His stepmother was a witch and he knew the battles he had to fight in order for him to live a near-normal life.
But Segun was not totally free. He lived from battle to battle, struggling from one attack to another. No one prayed like him in the church, yet no one was afflicted like him. He used to tell himself that he had so many attacks and defeats because of his family background, but when he discovered that his pastor, who lived a free joyful life, was from a more wicked background than him, he started asking questions he should have been asking a long time ago.
Segun discovered that even though he exerted himself a lot in spiritual Warfare, he was low on spiritual authority and had few real victories because of his conduct. He was a suspicious, unloving, proud, and self-centered person. Because of this, the enemy had many potent accusations against him that weakened his spiritual battle formation.
Today’s Bible verse begins with the word “finally”. The subject of spiritual Warfare was the last one apostle Paul would share with the Ephesians. He shared it just after sharing about spiritual maturity and Christian conduct. A man whose conduct is questionable cannot triumph in spiritual Warfare. The devil is not so powerful against the believer who is mature and whose conduct is blameless. One of the devil’s most potent weapons against the believer is accusations (see Rev 12:10-11).
The cleansing of the blood of Jesus and the transforming power of God’s word is why the saints will overcome Satan (Rev 12:11). The word of God transforms us to become like Christ, thus making us spiritually mature. Any believer who doesn’t give priority to the word of God may not attain the required level of spiritual maturity to successfully execute spiritual Warfare.
Go into today remembering that as you become more like Christ in nature [and character], you become spiritually invincible.
