The Glory that Shall be Revealed 2
Today’s Audio Version here: bit.ly/aud2059 Romans 8:20-21 (NET) For the creation was subjected to futility – not willingly but because of God who subjected it – in hope 21 that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children. Henry observed how Caleb literally spoke to things and they responded. He saw how one evening, it was raining very heavily, and Caleb needed to go out. He saw how Caleb spoke to the rain and it stopped in response to what Caleb said. There was a time they were traveling together in his car, and they ran into a BIG porthole. After that, there was a terrible noise in the right-back wheel of the car. They knew they needed to stop and find a mechanic, or the car would stop them. But Caleb simply spoke to the wheel and it immediately stopped making that noise till today. Henry always wondered why things responded to Caleb’s words. He later realized that it was because Caleb understood that he was an Ambassador of gospel and creation responds to the gospel and its true ambassadors. After the fall of man, God placed a curse on the earth for man’s sake. But actually, that curse affected all creation (Genesis 3:17). Man became terribly downgraded because of the fall, and God had to also downgrade creation for man’s sake. A downgraded man could only survive in a downgraded creation and habitat. But God did this in the hope that one day, after the redemption of man, creation will be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of His children. Creation was downgraded because Man was downgraded through Sin. When the sons of God enter their glory through the resurrection, creation too will be liberated. That’s why Jesus didn’t mince words when he said that the gospel was to every creature, or to all creation (see Mark 16:15). Jesus could have said ‘preach the gospel to everyone’, but He said preach the gospel to every creature. The words He actually used in Mark 16 alluded to creation, not just human beings. You see, the effect of the gospel will bring creation out of the curse of decay, not just human beings alone. And by the Holy Spirit (who enables us to walk in the first fruits of the power of the age to come) we can control creation just as Jesus did. Go into today giving thanks for the privilege to be a partaker of God’s glorious gospel. Pray: Heavenly Father, please empower me to be an agent of your gospel everywhere I go. Help me to be faithful to the end, in Jesus name. Amen. -Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: II Kings 6-10 (In Devotional Audio) Want to be saved? The Glory that Shall be Revealed
Today’s Audio Version here: bit.ly/aud2058 Romans 8:18-19 (KJV) For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. Have you ever seen a parked car grow newer with time? In this old creation, things grow older, not newer. Things naturally gravitate towards disorder not order. That is a result of the curse of corruption. But so great is the glory that would be revealed in us (who believe) that it would lead to the liberation of all creation from the curse of corruption. The curse of corruption is what makes things grow old and worn. But when our glory is revealed in the resurrection, all of creation will be set free from the curse of corruption (see Romans 8:21). Ignorance concerning who we are and what we are in Christ is the reason some believers are profane like Esau; trading their priceless eternal inheritance[of rewards] for temporary trappings of this world. Go into today remembering that all creation awaits the manifestation of your glory. Even now, by the Spirit, we get to walk in the foretaste of this reality. We are God’s light in this dark world(see Isaiah 60:1-2, Matthew 5:16). Prayer: Ask the Lord to multiply within you the grace to shine in light in this dark world and live in the hope of His calling. -Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: Leviticus 13-15 (In Devotional Audio) Want to be saved? You are the Temple of God
1 Corinthians 3:16 (KJV) Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? When Bimpe moved into the hostel, unknown to her, there were demons in that room that afflicted every girl who ever lived there. Her staying in that room ended the dominion of those demons because she was God’s temple. The demons parked out and she didn’t even know. She later knew what happened when she started hearing stories. Before the coming of Jesus Christ, God asked Moses to build a Temple (Tabernacle) and gave him the plan. The old temple was a place where God’s presence dwelt whenever he visited his people. He sometimes came upon certain people for special purposes, but never dwelt in them. At the coming of Jesus Christ, God came and dwelt among man, and after His resurrection and ascension, God returned to dwell in man, and this time, permanently (see John 14:16). It is His coming to dwell in man that makes man His temple. You see, you are more valuable to God than you have probably imagined. God is set to live in you and make you His voice and representative here on earth. What a privilege! Are you ready to represent God? Will He find you ready when he needs a representative in your school, home and or workplace? Or will you prevent Him from working? Never forget that you are a channel through which God wants to reach your surroundings. You are God’s temple. Prayer: Tell God you are ready to Let Him work through you. -Emmanuel James & SD Abraham Yearly Plan: Colossians 1-2 (In Devotional Audio) Want to be saved? Lest Thou Dash Thy Foot
Download today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/audio1332 Psalms 91:12 (KJV) They (angels) shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Tara was to travel from Enugu to Abuja. Because she was not used to Enugu, she depended on the taxi driver to take her to the motor park where she would board a vehicle going to Abuja. It became clear to her that something unusual was going on when she was in that car for up to 40 minutes. The driver later told her that he had lost his way, but later found it. By the time she got to the motor park, the first bus going to Abuja just filled up. She knew she would have to wait another two hours for the next bus to fill up. She was so angry with the taxi driver for wasting her time that she refused to pay him his complete fee. Unlike other taxi drivers, he didn’t react, but simply collected what she gave him and left. When the bus she entered eventually took off, four hours into their journey, they saw the bus she missed burning. It had collided with a truck and no one could survive. She had missed this fatal accident because her taxi driver wasted her time. She now knew that God used his angels to make him waste her time, or he himself was an angel. Remember that the promise of supernatural angelic protection in today’s Bible verse is for the person that dwells in the secret place of the most High (see Psalm 91:1). Dwelling in the Secret Place of God is only possible by faith in Christ Jesus because He is the only way to God (see John 14:6). Go into today thanking God that you are under His shadow if you are born again. If you are not yet born again, today is the day of your salvation. -Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Plan: Luke 17-18 (In Devotional Audio) Want to be saved? A Life that Counts
Download Today’s Audio: bit.ly/aud2057 Psalms 68:11 (KJV) The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. In the Nigerian city I grew up in, there are burial grounds of European missionaries which are now historical sites. Those missionaries died and were buried in the land because they came to preach the gospel. Some of these missionaries attended the best universities like Harvard and Oxford, but they saw a higher call and were willing to give their lives for it. Today, many in Africa are believers because of their sacrifice. Many lives have been physically and eternally spared because of their sacrifice. It was a missionary called Mary Slessor that the Lord used to end the infanticide ritual killing of twins in the southernmost part of Nigeria. When I look at my generation, I have a great concern in my heart, because the emphasis and pursuits of many believers are for vain things. Believers who love their lives too much (and love the world) cannot effectively pass the light of the gospel to the next generation (see John 12:25, Revelation 12:11, 1 John 2:15). When the gospel was first preached [in Jerusalem], it was by a handful of people who were willing to give it all (both those on the frontline of apostolic missions and those who gave their resources to send them). Today, over two billion people on earth are called Christians, and many millions have come to know the Lord personally. But this didn’t happen without a great company of people intentionally committed to spreading God’s word. Even in the 19th century when there was a great missionary movement, and many parts of Africa evangelized, there were still some believers who loved the world too much and didn’t want to inconvenience themselves for the gospel, but there were those who considered the Kingdom as the most important thing in their lives. All the believers in that generation are now physically dead, but some of them have crowns and eternal rewards stored up for them(2 Timothy 4:8), while some others would be ashamed before the Lord(1 John 2:28). Even though the people from that generation are no more in this world, they are still very much alive and conscious, and some are in joy while others are in eternal sorrow and damnation. Go into today determining to be among the company of those who publish the word of the Lord in your generation. A life that counts is one committed to spreading The Kingdom. Prayer: Lord, help me live a life counts in your eternal scheme of things. Help me fulfill my part in what you are doing in my generation. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Want to be saved? Not Worthy To Be Compared
Download Today’s Audio: bit.ly/aud2056 Romans 8:18 (KJV) For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. If you think about who God is and all His has, it is simply too awesome for our 1.5kg brain to fully comprehend. Yet, we are going to inherit all that belongs to God as heirs of God through Christ Jesus. What we know is that we shall be as He is because we shall see Him face to face(1 John 3:2). We shall rule and reign with Him and even judge the angels(see 1 Corinthians 6:3). We shall inherit all things (Revelation 21:7). Even though we know that it is those who live for Christ and [are willing to] suffer for Him that would be counted worthy to reign with Him in glory, it is foolishness to think that our suffering for Him is able to earn us our eternal glory. The sufferings of this present time cannot be compared to the glory. If we suffered for Christ to the point of death in one billion lifetimes, it still wouldn’t be sufficient to earn the glory that we would receive. God is not interested in our suffering, He is interested in our faithfulness. It is just that being faithful to Him would require denial of the flesh and may incur persecution from those still controlled by the Prince of this present world who is an enemy of Christ. As you are reading this Devotional today, many of our brethren in Pakistan, parts of India, and the Middle East are experiencing great persecution because of their faith in Christ. Many in the middle east are even denied passports so that they cannot get visas to flee their countries where they are being persecuted for their faith. Even in certain parts of northern Nigeria today, believers who are qualified for promotion in public service are denied promotion because they are believers. Qualified students are denied admission into government-owned subsidized tertiary institutions because they have Christian names. We can go on and on, but the point is this: those who would not deny the faith because of worldly pressures are proving that they are faithful in the little, and much more would be given to them (Luke 16:10-12). They would rule and reign with the Lord in the eternal kingdom that is coming to sweep away every other kingdom. Go into today asking the Lord for the grace to be faithful to Him in the face of pressures. Prayer: Dear Lord, please help to be faithful to you unto the end. Please help me to not miss my eternal reward but reign with you in glory on that day. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Want to be saved? Heirs of God
Download Today’s Audio: bit.ly/aud2055 Romans 8:17 (NET) And if children, then heirs (namely, heirs of God and also fellow heirs with Christ) – if indeed we suffer with him so we may also be glorified with him. Just this afternoon, I had a conversation with a young man who said he wouldn’t mind waiting to grow old before he lives a life that is fully committed to God. At that point, I knew I had to explain to him the benefits of knowing God from his youth because his youth is when he still has the strength to serve the Lord–service for which he would be eternally rewarded. Today’s Bible verse reveals that we who believe will be heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ Jesus if indeed we suffer with Him so we may be glorified with Him. There is a dimension of glory that is stored up for all of God’s children, but only those servants who put their talents to kingdom advancement use and serve the Lord will attain that height of eternal glory. Salvation [from eternal damnation] is a gift and not a reward (see Ephesians 2:8). But being chosen for authority and ranking in God’s kingdom is a reward for faithfulness to the Lord and obedience to His call (see Luke 19:17, Matthew 16:27, Revelation 22:12) Eternity is forever and ever, and we should care about our destiny there. Many people will be in the highest levels of God’s eternal glory for all eternity because they responded faithfully to the call of God and lived for Him– not shying away from the suffering it may incur, but rejoicing in hope. But many others will not respond to the call. They will choose to live for themselves even though they have believed in the Lord Jesus. Even though many of such people will be saved through their faith in Christ, they will be saved as though through fire and would suffer loss( they would lose their reward– their ordained place of authority and glory in God’s eternal kingdom). Read 1 Corinthians 3:13-15. Go into today remembering that glory and honor are stored up for those who live for Christ- sacrificing all and even suffering for Him because of their resolve to fulfill His purpose for sending them into time. Prayer: Holy Father, please help me live for you and fulfill your purpose for my life. In Jesus name. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Want to be saved? Servants of Christ
Download Today’s Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud1695 1 Corinthians 4:2 (NET) Now what is sought in stewards is that one be found faithful. When it became clear to Eze that he too was a servant (minister) of Christ, he became more faithful to the Lord; he was now more committed to soul-winning and discipleship, was now faithful in the way he handled his money, was now committed to the ministry of the word and prayer and was now accountable to his brethren. Many believers are not as faithful as they can be because they do not know that they too are servants of Christ. They think it is only their pastors that are servants of Christ. But the Bible makes it clear that all believers are ministers –servants of God (see Eph 4:12, 2 Cor 5:18). While children in a household are still babies, they are unable to serve in any capacity. But as they grow up, they are able to serve and handle responsibility in the family. As they further grow, a point will come that their father will feel comfortable to let them handle the family business. God wants you to handle great power in the kingdom, but it is required that you be found faithful. One of the more popular Bible verses today is from Isaiah 54:17, it says: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,’ Says the Lord”. This promise is actually meant for the servants of the Lord, and every believer should be one. But how many really serve the Lord? Go into today remembering that as a son in the household of God, you are expected to serve the Lord in faithfulness. As you meditate on ways you can become more active in serving the Lord, ask Him to empower you to this end. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Want to be saved? No Longer a Slave to Fear
Download Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud2054 Romans 8:16-17 (NET) The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we are God’s children. Benise was a believer who lived a very disciplined life but was also a very miserable believer because she lived in the fear of going to hell and had no assurance of salvation. Because of this fear, other fears found expression in her life and she was now a slave to fear. She got delivered from the dominion of fear after she heard and meditated on the words of an Anointed song that went thus: “I’m longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God… ” After listening to the song over and again, she realized that all the fear in her heart was devilish. She sought to be delivered permanently and realized that the answer was in being filled with the Spirit. The infilling of the Spirit takes away fears (see Romans 8:15, 2 Timothy 1:7). One of the surest signs that a believer is filled with the Spirit is that he would have the assurance of salvation. This assurance takes away the fear of death(both spiritual and physical). It gives us boldness and boosts our faith in receiving from God because we know that He is our heavenly Father who loves us even more than an earthly father loves and cares for his children. Go into today thanking the Lord for the Holy Spirit that brings assurance of salvation and gives you boldness to walk in your liberty as a child of God. Prayer: Ask the Lord to deliver you from anything seeking to hinder your devotion to spiritual disciplines that make for a spirit-filled life. -Abraham Damilola Arigi Want to be born again? The Right Reason for Serving God
Download Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud2053 1 Corinthians 6:20 KJV For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s After Lot received Jesus, he never missed a Church service. His life, however, was still characterized by fear, anxiety, and suspicion; he couldn’t live the victorious life. He fasted, prayed and held so many vigils because he was told that he had many enemies fighting him. It was after ten years of rigorous but unending battles that he found out that the reason his knowledge of God was not fruitful was that he had been serving God for the wrong reasons. Lot served so he could be free from his enemies. Why are you serving God? Many have served, sacrificed, given tithes and offerings and have sown seeds so many times because they wanted riches, wealth and other material gains but have been disappointed so many times. To avoid being disappointed, you must understand that God owns you and your service must be one that honors and glorifies Him, not one whose motivation is your personal gain. A man who serves God acceptably must do so not because he desires a reward but because he wants to glorify Him. If you can do this, every other thing will then be added unto you according to Matthew 6:33. Go into today making up your mind to serve God acceptably. Not for personal gain but for the honor and glory of His name. -Dr. Emmanuel James Want to be born again?
