Wait

🔊Download Audio Here ☞ bit.ly/aud1909 1 Samuel 13:11-12 (NET)But Samuel said, “What have you done?” Saul replied, “When I saw that the army had started to abandon me and that you didn’t come at the appointed time and that the Philistines had assembled at Micmash,I thought , ‘Now the Philistines will come down on me at Gilgal…’ So I felt obligated to offer the burnt offering” (Read 1 Samuel 13:1) Have you ever had to wait for something? A medical test result? A phone call? An interview outcome? We all have had to wait for something at one time or the other. Waiting tends to come with some sense of apprehension which usually arises from fearing the worst, and the bible says that fear has torment (1 John 4:18). In our text above, we see how Saul yielded to pressure and transgressed the office of a priest. Samuel delayed and for fear of being deserted by the army and of failure, Saul sinned. This was a flaw in Saul as he exhibited it again in 1 Samuel 15 verse 24 which reads “And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice”. Friends, to successfully wait out times of trial and pressure to compromise, you must first be a person who exalts the [Word of the] Lord above all else. Again, you must fear only the Lord. The fear of the Lord will lead you aright, but the fear of man or the desire to please man will lead you astray. Again you must be a person who is led by the Holy Spirit by faith and not by sight. The rudder that steers your ship cannot be external, it has to be internal otherwise, you will, like Saul, feel obligated/pressured by circumstances to act/compromise. Keep your eyes on the Lord, be a person of prayer, wait; don’t give up, don’t give in. —Ikechukwu Mpama Streamglobe is nondenominational. Principle of Kingdom Greatness 2

🔊Download Audio Here ☞ bit.ly/aud1908 1 Corinthians 14:4-5 (NET) The one who speaks in a tongue builds himself up, but the one who prophesies builds up the church.I wish you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets so that the church may be strengthened. Ever since Amaka started understanding how that God’s kingdom is real and not just a concept or metaphor, and is a kingdom that would literally take over the kingdoms of this world when the Lord returns (see Rev 11:15, Dan 7:14, 27, Ps 86:9), she started seeking [to understand] the kingdom of God more. One of the first things she discovered as she began to study the kingdom of God was that in the kingdom, even though we all have an equal heritage as sons of God, some would be called greater in the kingdom because of their service, faithfulness, and rewards. She started observing that we are not all at the same level in the kingdom of God. Some people are greater than others, and this is because of their fruitful work for God among people. From today’s Bible verses, we see a principle of kingdom greatness play out. Those who serve others with their gifts are greater than those who don’t. Speaking to God in an unknown tongue is good for self-edification (see 1 Cor 14:4), but using the gift of prophecy or tongues with interpretation to edify God’s people is better. But please note that speaking to people with tongues is different from praying [to God] in an unknown tongue (see 1 Cor 14:2), in which case there wouldn’t be a need for the tongue to be interpreted since you’re talking to God who understands all things. In the kingdom of this world, it is considered better to get than to give, but in the kingdom of God, it is better and more blessed to give than to receive(see Acts 20:35). It is better to edify people than to edify only yourself. But remember that you would be more effective in edifying people if you have first built up yourself in the secret place. Go into today remembering that heights of greatness in God’s kingdom is reached by a heart more disposed to give than to get. Prayer: Father, please help me to be great in your kingdom and do exploits for you. Amen. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Streamglobe is nondenominational. Principle of Kingdom Greatness

🔊Download Audio Here ☞ bit.ly/aud1907 Matthew 18:4 (NET) Whoever then humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. As Amaka started reading the Bible for herself and growing in the knowledge of the Lord, she discovered that she was being transformed by the renewing of her mind through the word (Rom 12:2, Col 3:10). This manifested in her becoming more humble and gentle, and more fruitful in serving the Lord. She realized that she was becoming greater and greater in the kingdom as she was being transformed more and more into the nature of Christ. This greatness manifested also in the way demons now feared her and angels esteemed her. She was now closer to the Lord and could more easily get heaven to intervene in situations (see John 15:7, John 14:23).In Matthew 5:19, we see that those who influence people for righteousness the most are the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. They do this by making disciples; teaching them to observe all the commandments of the Lord (see Matt 28:19-20). Please note that these commandments are not the Lord’s commandments as presented by Moses, but His commandments as presented by He Himself (when He came as flesh), and by His apostles later on. In Matthew 18:4, we see that the greatest people in the kingdom of God are those with childlike humility. You cannot serve God fruitfully without this kind of humility because you would need grace (divine empowerment) to serve fruitfully, and those who enjoy grace are those who are humble (see 1 Pet 5:5, James 4:6). Go into today remembering that greatness in the kingdom of God is infinitely better than greatness in this world. God wants us all to be great in His kingdom, but this is attained through a humble heart that is willing to learn and serve. Flee Sexual Immorality

🔊Download Audio Here ☞ bit.ly/audio1906 1 Corinthians 6:18Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin a person commits is outside of the body”–but the immoral person sins against his own body. Immediately after my wedding in 2005, I traveled to attend a friend’s wedding in another state. As I left the wedding, an unmarried sister requested a ride. On our way, she begged me to allow her to quickly pick up her bag in her mother’s apartment nearby. We arrived there, only to discover that her mother was not at home. I sat in the living room, while she went into the bedroom to pick her bag. Later on, she came out and as I rose up to leave, she dropped her bag and suddenly squared up to me. She was a very busty lady. Alarmed, I asked her what she was up to, and she said I must kiss her before we leave. I was not only embarrassed but was also scared at the same time, because for inexplicable reasons, my body chemistry was already running wild. I told her I couldn’t do it, that apart from being a child of God, I was married to her friend. With my eyes flaming hot with anger at her audacity, she had to let me go. All these happened in less than five minutes, but those few minutes were intense. I escaped unscathed but was shaken. Brethren, sexual assaults against Pastors and believers are real, especially in this crooked and perverted generation of ours. The devil is raving mad with the determination to turn everyone (including pastors) into slaves of immorality. Now, who can escape these raging onslaughts? Only those who have made up their mind with the backing of the Holy Spirit not to defile themselves. 1. Don’t counsel ladies on intimate issues that have to do with their sexual lives. Let your wife or other mature female counselors handle that. 2. Private home visits to females(or the opposite sex) should be done in the company of your wife(or husband) or an assistant. 3. Avoid giving private gifts to females without your wife’s knowledge, or better still, let her do the giving. Take heed unto yourselves and the ethics of ministry, because judgment will begin from the house of God (1 Peter 4:17). The arm of the flesh will fail you, so pray [and keep the prayer fire burning], so that you would have the power to overcome temptations (see Mark 14:38). Grow in the discerning of spirits, because Satan can masquerade as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). As you go into today, make up your mind that you won’t defile yourself, and always take heed unto yourself and your doctrines (personal principles of life).—Culled & modified from a write-up by Pastor Edo Roger Streamglobe is nondenominational. Building Up Yourself 3

🔊Download Audio Version Here ☞ bit.ly/audio1905 1 Corinthians 14:14-15 (KJV)  For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. When Damilola first started praying in the spirit as a daily discipline, he found it quite difficult as his mind wandered away from prayer because while he prayed in a tongue, his mind wasn’t engaged. Because of this,   most times he tried to pray in the Spirit, he would soon get weary and sometimes sleep off. But he attended a prayer retreat and learned that it was possible for him to pray with his understanding while praying in tongues, that he was not to let his mind remain idle while praying in the spirit. This knowledge transformed his prayer life. He could now pray longer in the spirit because while he was praying in tongues, he also talked to the Lord with his mind, and his mind was no longer idle. when you pray to God with an unknown tongue, the Holy Spirit and your spirit prays, and many times these are prayers that you need to pray for yourself with your words, but you do not know how to pray these prayers(see Romans 8:26), so through tongues, the Holy Spirit gives you the right words to say. But in all of these, your mind is unfruitful so you also need to engage your mind in prayers to God while you pray in tongues.   Go into today remembering that praying in the spirit is one of the most important disciplines every disciple should imbibe (see Ephesians 6:18). —Abraham Damilola Arigi Streamglobe is nondenominational. Building Up Yourself 2

🔊Download Audio Version Here ☞ bit.ly/audio1904 Jude 1:20 (KJV)But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost Some things happened in Damilola’s life that made him learn to seek the Lord in prayer. Because of this, he had created a habit of praying between 11pm and 12am every day. He did this consistently for over a year and started enjoying divine healing and health as one of the many benefits. He didn’t know the extent of power his spirit had received through this daily discipline of prayer until he had the opportunity to lay hands on some students. He was surprised to see the manifestation of God’s power that day. Many of those he laid his hand on were getting baptized in the Holy Spirit, being delivered, and visibly manifesting the outpouring of God’s power. He was so excited. Your spirit man is like a battery that can be charged with God’s power. The way we charge our spirits is by praying in the Spirit. The way we drain our power is by continually walking in the flesh and in faithlessness. Go into today remembering that the way we charge ourselves with the power of God is by praying in the Holy Ghost. Every problem of life answers to the power of the Holy Spirit. Building Up Yourself

🔊Download Audio Version Here ☞ bit.ly/audio1903 1 Corinthians 14:4 (NET) The one who speaks in a tongue builds himself up, but the one who prophesies builds up the church.Jude 1:20 (KJV) But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost After Amaka got illumination from the word of God and was no more hindered from speaking in tongues, she realized that the more she prayed in the Spirit (in a tongue), the stronger she was in her spirit, and this strength manifested in boldness, power against temptations, and extermination of her previous fears. Because of this, she prayed more and more in the spirit every day, and was even now walking in God’s mighty power to discern and cast out demons, and heal the sick. Her family members now knew that she was an expert at getting them miraculously healed when they were sick. It is important that Christians form the habit of praying in the spirit (in a tongue) on a daily basis. One sure way to pray in the spirit is by praying in an unknown tongue because 1 Corinthians 14:14 shows us that when you pray in an unknown tongue, your spirit prays. This is an effective way of building up your spirit man. As you go about day to day life, you need power in your spirit to live the victorious life. Many Christians live defeated lives because even though through the new birth they now have the ability to receive God’s power, they do not charge their spirits with this power by praying sufficiently in the Spirit. The devil knows this too well and would do everything he can to distract you from praying sufficiently in the Spirit. Go into today remembering that praying in the spirit is the way you charge your spirit with the power of God. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Streamglobe is nondenominational. Testing Prophecies

🔊Download Audio Version Here ☞ bit.ly/audio1902 1 Corinthians 14:3-4 (NET)But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouragement, and consolation. Sandra started having a check in her spirit concerning a certain prophet when each time she listened to him, she felt weakened and discouraged in her spirit. She became very sure that the prophet was a false prophet when she found out that her friend’s sister was one of his secret lovers. She started growing spiritually again when she stopped attending his meetings. In today’s Bible verse we see three of the attributes of true prophecy (and even preaching). It brings strengthening, encouragement, and consolidation to God’s people. After listening to real prophecies, you don’t leave there afraid, depressed, and discouraged unless you are an unrepentant sinner. Even when prophecies predict the coming of hard times and great persecution, etc., you would notice that those prophecies were given to strengthen and prepare God’s people for the impending, not to discourage and put fear in their hearts (see Acts 11:27-28). The reason Jesus would tell His disciples that they would have tribulation in the world was because He wanted to encourage them and equip them for it. He wanted them to know that in spite of it all, He has overcome the world, so they should cheer up (be of good cheer). That’s what prophecy does to believers, it ultimately encourages, strengthens and/or consoles. Go into today remembering that we have been told to test all spirits. Whenever prophecies do not encourage believers but put fear and discouragement in their hearts, those prophecies should be quarantined. —Abraham Damilola Arigi www.streamglobe.org/partner Streamglobe is nondenominational.
