DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORD OF GOD?
Download Today’s Audio here☞ bit.ly/aud1809 Matthew 13:19When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. The power of the word of God is in its understanding; the word is powerful in your life to the extent to which you understand it. Paul in Ephesians 1:17-21 prayed like this: “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.” Did you know that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is the power at work in you? There should be no dead situations in your life because of this power. But if there is, could it be that you are yet to understand the word of God with respect to those situations? Go into today asking the Holy Spirit who is the author of the word to help your understanding so that you would begin to enjoy the riches of the glory of His inheritance for you.—Dr. Emmanuel James Bible in 365 Days: Psalms 122-124 To start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio daily, join our WhatsApp Group Here☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/LKQaJFFK8bhFNZN14TUFCp Streamglobe is interdenominational. THEN THE LORD WILL TAKE ME UP
Download Today’s Audio here☞ bit.ly/aud1808 Psalm 27:10 (KJV)When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up. A little girl read this verse above and went to her parents crying saying “Please, I want God to take me up but I don’t want you to forsake me. Must you forsake me before God can take me up?” Should we begin to pray that our fathers and mothers forsake us so that God can take us up? What then is the message in today’s scripture? Actually, God fathered Adam, the progenitor of the over six billion people in the world today. If you read Luke 3:38, you will see that through Adam, God is the father of us all. He expects the believer to know and act with the understanding that He is the father over all. The Sin that hinders the experience of the reality of God as Father has been removed for the believer because of the sacrifice of Christ. God is your source, not your parents. He is the one really responsible for your sustenance. If your parents fail or forsake you, God (your source) will sustain you because your sustenance is His responsibility. Just like every spiritual reality we experience, this reality is activated for us by our faith. In Matthew 23:9, Jesus says this: “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven”. So, if your Father is in heaven and He is responsible for you, then your supplies are dependent on heaven’s resources and should not be limited by the economic climate around you (see Phil 4:19). It is after knowing this truth that you can truly approach God as your Father; source, and supplier. Go into today determined to take your trust away from men and put it in God alone. God has never failed. He can never fail.—Dr Emmanuel James Bible in 365 Days: II Chronicles 25-28 To start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio daily, join our WhatsApp Group Here☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/LKQaJFFK8bhFNZN14TUFCp Streamglobe is interdenominational. THE NEED FOR DISCIPLESHIP 2
John 21:15 (KJV) So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. After Larry submitted himself to discipleship, he was now accountable to his discipler who prayerfully monitored his spiritual progress. The first day his discipler visited him in his house, he saw that Lary’s room was decorated with pictures of indecently dressed female pop stars. He also observed that most of Larry’s music was not spiritually edifying at all. Larry’s discipler took time to explain to him that the environment he created around himself was very important, and the pictures he had on his wall were not appropriate for a spirit-filled child of God. Even though some of those autographed pictures cost Larry a lot of money to acquire, he willingly removed them and destroyed them. He also got rid of all his music that was not spiritually edifying. His discipler spent some time in his house that day. They ate together, studied the word of God together and took some time to pray. Larry had many questions and many assumptions that were wrong, but his discipler answered his questions and corrected his wrong assumptions. Larry and his discipler continued to meet regularly, talk on the phone and pray together. Larry observed that because of his interaction with his discipler, he became much stronger spiritually. With time, Larry too became a soul winner and discipler. Discipleship is the way by which more mature believers feed the Lord’s lambs (newborn believers). Those who truly love the Lord would be involved in this ministry. Many have fallen away not because they did not truly believe but because they were not discipled by anyone. — Pst SD Abraham Get sermons to help you grow here☞ streamglobe.org/34 Yearly Bible: Deuteronomy 4-6To start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio daily, join our WhatsApp Group Here☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/LKQaJFFK8bhFNZN14TUFCp Streamglobe is interdenominational. THE FIRST WORKS AND THE FIRST LOVE
Get Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1806 Revelation 2:5 (NET) Therefore, remember from what high state you have fallen and repent! Do the deeds you did at the first; if not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place – that is, if you do not repent. Someone asked me what the secret behind staying consistent and growing in the grace of God was, because according him, many who were on fire for God on campus left campus and lost the fire. Losing the first fire and love is a real existential problem among believers everywhere. The truth is that if there was a time you were closer to God and more on fire for God than you are today, it is a sign that something has gone terribly wrong (see Prov 4:18). I don’t believe it was a coincidence that this was the first matter that came up in the letters the Lord sent to the seven churches in Revelation 2-3. We see a remedy for this malady in today’s Bible verse. Here the Lord tells the believers who have lost their first love to repent and do the deeds they did at first. The way to stay on fire is to never stop doing the deed you did at first. One reason people lose their first love and fire is because they stop doing the deeds they did at first when they were on fire for God. It’s a slow fade, and this usually comes when believers begin to have the mindset that they have already attained. This mindset is contrary to that of a true disciple (see Phil 3:13-14) . A young man who used to pray for hours when he was on campus now ‘does not have the time’ to pray for more than a couple of minutes because of work or even the demands of growing ministry. A lady who used to spend quality time reading faith building book now only reads novels because they are more interesting and ‘there is nothing new to learn again’. Go into today remembering that consistency in the works of the first love keeps the fire of the first love burning. — Pst SD Abraham Get sermons here☞ streamglobe.org/34 Yearly Bible: James 1-3 (Audio version available in our Telegram group) To start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio daily, join our WhatsApp Group Here☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/LKQaJFFK8bhFNZN14TUFCp Join us on Telegram here☞ streamglobe.org/join Streamglobe is interdenominational. THE NEED FOR DISCIPLESHIP 1
Get Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1805 Matthew 28:19 (NET) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit After Larry accepted Christ, he realized that he no longer had the desire to be a sinner. But as time passed, he saw that his desire was not strong enough to keep him from his old sinful habits. Each time he fell, he felt uneasy inside because he knew he was not acting in accordance with his new nature. He knew he had received a new nature inside, but he wanted to know how to let this new nature dominate him and no more the old nature. After discussing his challenges with the person that led him to Christ, it became clear to him that he needed to submit himself to discipleship. Discipleship is God’s educational system for training believers to walk in their new nature through the renewal of their minds by the word(see Rom 12:2). Spiritually mature believers are those who are no more carnal (dominated by the flesh) but are now dominated by the spirit. These are the believers whose lives are now dominated by the kingdom of God and who are striving for their reward in the kingdom. One very important aspect of discipleship is the ministry of the word and prayer. You cannot disciple people without regularly interceding for them and teaching them the word of God; explaining the mysteries of the kingdom of God to them. Without proper discipleship, new believers will remain spiritual babies and may not abide in the Lord. Go into today determined to submit yourself to proper discipleship if you are still controlled by your old nature of sin as a believer. If you are a discipler, ask the Lord to multiply your grace for this. — Pst SD Abraham Get sermons to help you grow here☞ streamglobe.org/34 Yearly Bible: Acts 7-8 To start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio daily, join our WhatsApp Group Here☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/LKQaJFFK8bhFNZN14TUFCp Streamglobe is interdenominational. OUR SPIRITUAL JEWISH IDENTITY
Get Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1804 1 Corinthians 10:1 (KJV) Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea Have you ever wondered why in writing to Gentile (non-Jewish) believers, Apostle Paul referred to the Jewish ancestors who left Egypt as ‘our fathers’? Why is Paul sounding as if all the Corinthian Christians were Jews whose fathers were in the wilderness? This is because Paul understood that everyone in Christ now has the same ancestry as Christ. You see, when Christ came, he came as a Jewish man with Jewish ancestors. Because Jesus could have referred to the prophets of old as ‘our fathers’, the saints who are now members of Christ can also refer to them as ‘our fathers’. It is worthy of note that in just a few paragraphs before today’s verse, Paul said these words: To the Jews, I became as a Jew… (1Cor 9:20). This means Paul no longer primarily saw himself as a Jew in the earthly sense. This is the Christian mindset: we are no longer defined according to our earthly identity, but our spiritual identity means we are descendants of Abraham because of our union with Christ who is the true seed of Abraham (see Gal 3:16). Because of this, we are inheritors of the blessing of Abraham (see Gal 3:13-14). Romans 2:28-29 (NET) For a person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision something that is outward in the flesh, but someone is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart by the Spirit and not by the written code. This person’s praise is not from people but from God. Go into today thanking Jesus (The king of the Jews) for making you His family. KNOWING GOD’S NAME
Get Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1803 Psalms 91:14 (KJV) Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. Dara was the youngest son in his family. As he grew older, everyone observed that he was the most favored and exalted child from that family. Everything he did prospered and he eventually became the most important and celebrated member of the family because of how much the Lord exalted him. His mother wondered why he was so exalted above everyone else. She later discovered that unlike her other children, Dara knew and feared the Lord from when he was a child, and continued to grow in the knowledge of the Lord. We see in today’s text that God promises to deliver those who love Him and set on high those who know His name. It is only those who love the Lord that can know His name. What does it mean to know God’s name? It means to have a personal relationship with the Lord. Knowing God’s name doesn’t mean to just know about God like everybody, it means knowing God and being known by God because you have a personal walk with the Lord. Go into today desiring to know the Lord more and not just know about Him. Jesus came to make this possible for everyone who believes in Him. LOVING THE LORD
Get Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1802 Psalms 91:14 (KJV) Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. There are times that it may seem the enemy has come upon us in a way we were not prepared for or able to handle. And whereas we are used to casting out and binding, it would appear as if the situation is immune to all that. At times like this, we need help from above because it would appear that the enemy we face is too strong for us. See how David puts it in Psalm 18:17 “He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.” The good news (from today’s Bible verse) is that those who set their love upon God will receive His help and deliverance even when it appears their enemy is too strong for them. Those who love God are those known by God (1Cor 8:3) and the Lord Himself will arise to help them in the time of need. This is a great privilege. How do we set our love on the Lord? The first way is to appreciate how much He loved us and how much it cost Him to forgive our sins (he that is forgiven much loves much). After realizing this great love that the Lord has lavished upon us, we must determine to dwell in this love and love the Lord with all our hearts. Loving the Lord is a decision we can make, that’s why there’s a commandment to that effect (see Matt 22:37). When we truly love the Lord, it would show in our love for His brethren the believers. An undeniable manifestation of love is giving (see John 3:16). If you love the Lord, you would give your life: time, and resources to serving Him and advancing the agenda of His kingdom here on earth. — Pst SD Abraham Yearly Bible: Psalms 120-121 To start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio daily, join our WhatsApp Group Here☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/FL6XDKnAzBLBZYBLd03hbh Streamglobe is interdenominational. RUN TO WIN 3
Get Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud17801 1 Corinthians 9:26-27 (NET) So I do not run uncertainly or box like one who hits only air.Instead I subdue my body and make it my slave, so that after preaching to others I myself will not be disqualified. Every race on the track has its rules and regulations. If an athlete does not run properly on the track according to the rules of the race, he would be disqualified. When you became born again, you were rescued from the kingdom and dominion of darkness and brought into the kingdom of God (see Col 1:13). The kingdom of darkness exerts its control over people through the flesh, but the kingdom of God controls us through our regenerated (Holy Spirit filled) spirits. In the race of the kingdom, if one does not subdue his body and make it his slave, he would not be able to run acceptably. Anyone who is still controlled by the flesh cannot serve God acceptably because another kingdom still has some influence over him through his commitment to the flesh. Service to God in any capacity must be orchestrated and directed by the Spirit of God. But a man still governed by the flesh cannot be led by the Holy Spirit because he is being led by the flesh. The way we identify the works of the flesh is through the word of God. It shows us what the works of the flesh are so that we can identify and reject them. Go into today remembering that the only way to serve God acceptably is to serve Him in spirit and in truth. Ask the Lord to help you always subdue the flesh and live a life controlled by the spirit. — Pst SD Abraham Yearly Bible: II Chronicles 21-24 To start getting Streamglobe Devotional Text & Audio daily, join our WhatsApp Group Here☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/FL6XDKnAzBLBZYBLd03hbh Streamglobe is interdenominational.
