John 16:7-10 explains the way in which The Holy Spirit keeps us in the straight and narrow and here is a simple analogy of that work: In convicting sin, He says to you in love when you’re doing the wrong thing and are proud “Beloved why haven’t you believed in Jesus and that on any matter Jesus is enough and His words are true?” Regarding righteousness, He says to you when you feel unassured of your standing “Beloved, Jesus has justified you by His death on the cross and now He is no longer here, I am here to take his place to keep you in that standard He has set”. Finally, as it concerns Judgment, He says to you when you feel condemned or accused “Beloved don’t yield to the devil, he is already defeated. I’m not the One condemning you. You have a glorious future but he’s is of certain destruction. Resist him and everything he brings your way. You’re more than a conqueror!”. This is how we must keep ourselves in the straight and narrow because Matthew 7:13 shows it can be missed and it leaves no room for excesses by its uncompromising standard. Just as many have found themselves lost in the jungle of life without a compass or a travel companion we also as believers are susceptible to losing our way when we seem to or assume we can go through life alone without the Holy Spirit. To the one who is yet proud and has refused to receive Jesus, you are not on God’s standard path and judgment looms. But to him who has received Christ’s life, you have been made right and along the path you’ve chosen is life eternal (Proverbs 12:28). Amen. -Chibo E.C Not yet saved? POWERFUL WORDS

Before Tracy left for the motor park to embark on her journey, her aunt said ‘journey mercies dear’. To this Tracy said ‘amen’. While they were on their journey, Tracy fell asleep and had a most unusual dream. In that dream, their bus had a ghastly accident and she and one other person were the only ones that survived. While she was trying to get away from the damaged vehicle, a man dressed in white appeared to her and kept repeating in the exact voice of her aunt: ‘journey mercies’. While she was trying to figure out what was going on, she woke up. But it was the crash of the bus that woke her up. Indeed, the bus had crashed into a truck and it was a ghastly accident. Most of the people in the bus died, but she was spared. She only had bruises. Tracy realized that her life was preserved because of the words her aunt uttered earlier. When a Christian declares a thing, it should come to pass (Job 22:28) because we are children of God who have the authority of Christ Jesus. But many times, Christians find that their words are powerless. When a believer is used to uttering idle and useless words, they render his words weightless in the realm of the spirit. That is why Jesus warns us against uttering idle words (see Matt 12:36). Untrue words are idle words. Believers who tell lies do so at the expense of the power of faith that should be released when they declare things they want to come to pass. Go into today remembering that believers who tell lies and talk too much have weightless words in the realm of the spirit. -SD Abraham Not yet saved? Two hikers John and Smith left their camp for an adventure. Unknown to Smith, John forgot to take along their compass. At a point they were confused and John decided to guess and feel that he recognized some trees, a cleared pathway, a big river, etc. It seemed right until they eventually got lost in the woods. Thankfully they were found by rescuers after two days of search. The days are evil and so we are well aware that the day of the Lord is almost upon us. After knowing this, why will many still miss the way of the straight and narrow? The Word of God gives us our clue in Proverbs 14:12 Now is not the season for being seemingly right, neither is it for being fairly right nor feeling right. It is a time for searching right, for knowing right and for staying right. Many have missed and many are on their way to perdition because they came to a poor decision while leaning on their own understanding of being right. Now is the season of the Holy Spirit. He is our most trusted compass and most reliable travel guide that keeps us in the straight and narrow. He is the One whose voice speaks through our spirit saying “This is the way; walk in it” and who also releases the grace for us to stay in the straight and narrow (Isaiah 30:21). As you go into today, ask the Lord to help you grow in fellowship with Him through His Spirit. -Chibo E.C. This is the first day of the year 2018. This is the beginning of a year of great joy for you in Jesus name. When we as believers speak, our words are very important and very powerful because we are children of God. God does not consider our words to be useless. In fact, we will give account for every idle word we speak (Matt 12:36). When you tell your friends ‘Happy new year’, you are prophesying that this New Year will indeed be a happy one. Do not waste those precious words, but say them in faith and use them as a medium to release power into this New Year. As you go into this new year, remember that your words are very important before the Lord. He uses them as a medium to release the blessing into your everyday life. Prayer confession: this is the year that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it(Psalm 118:24). In this New Year, I shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water (Jer 17:8). I am fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Col 1:10). My life radiates the glory and wisdom of God. Men shall see my good works and glorify my Father in Heaven(Matt 5:16). I shall prosper in all that I do (Psalm 1:3), In Jesus name. Amen. -Pst. NO ROOM FOR HIM

A story in an article described a man who was on a journey with his pregnant wife on a plane when suddenly her water broke. Airlines these days have planes so tight one can barely move. The sudden stress caused a commotion, but thankfully, a medical nurse on that same flight along with some cabin crew members made space near the toilet compartment. There the man’s wife successfully was delivered a baby. Their joy knew no bounds. We talk about how fast-paced life can be, and during Christmas and New Year this gets amplified. Many hurry to shop, travel, make sales, etc. Yet many leave no room for Jesus. Unfortunately, many believers get caught up in the frenzied celebrations yet really have no room for Him who they claim to celebrate. During this season, we are reminded that He not only deserves a tiny manger-like room in our lives but in truth should hold the keys to the master bedroom of our lives. Revelations 3:20 and John 14:23 tells us that if we love Him and hear Him, there is no way He should remain standing outside our lives. As you celebrate this season, make sure you have surrendered the temporary room of your life to Him because a day will come when Christ the Landlord of our lives will ask for the keys to judge how you have lived in His house. -Chibo E.C. PRAYING IN TONGUES 3

One reason Kayode was initially not interested in speaking in tongues was because he knew many people who spoke in tongues but were not true Christians. On campus, he once had a roommate who was very selfish and mean. This same roommate would be the first to speak in tongues if they had to pray together in the room. Kayode also knew that this roommate was a chronic womanizer, and a very deceitful fellow. We see in today’s Bible verse that it is after the Holy Spirit filled the believers that they began to speak in tongues. Of those who are known to speak in tongues, but are not known [to be followers of Christ] by their fruits, there are two categories. There are those who were indeed born again and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, but refused to grow and remained spiritual babes who are now either spiritually dead or deeply asleep spiritually (see Rev 3:2, Rom 8:13). Then there are those who were never born again, but merely received a spiritual gift through impartation because of their proximity to those who have this gift. Both categories of people should not expect to be raptured because that day will come as a thief in the night for those who are asleep (see 1 Thes 5:1-7). Those who are spiritually dead or not awake, but pray in tongues will pray fruitlessly. Just like those who perform miracles in the name of Jesus but are not known by Him (see Matt 7:23) because they do not love God. It is those who love God that are known by God (see 1 Cor 8:3). If a person loves God, it is shown in the way he relates with God’s children (see 1 John 4:20). God’s gifts are irrevocable (Rom 11:29). God does not withdraw His spiritual gifts because a person is spiritually asleep (by remaining a spiritual babe), or even spiritually dead (see Rev 3:2, Rom 8:13). What happens is that the gift will not lead to any form of Kingdom fruitfulness (which is the purpose gifts are given). And fruitfulness is the purpose for which we are ordained (see John 15:16). -Pastor SD Abraham Yearly Bible Plan: Esther 6-10 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational & nondenominational. The only Spiritual gift that is peculiar to the New Testament church is the gift of tongues. Every other spiritual gift had been already present in the Old Covenant. Whereas all other gifts come as a result of the Holy Spirit upon a person, the gift of tongues comes as a result of the Holy Spirit upon and within a person. It came only after the Holy Spirit came to indwell people (see John 14:17, Acts 2:4). When a believer prays in tongues, he is praying in partnership with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit prays for him with groans that cannot be uttered (Rom 8:26). You see, in the new covenant, prayer is greatly emphasized (see Luke 18:1, Col 4:2, 1 Thes 5:17, Rom 12:12, Eph 6:18, etc.). It is emphasized much more than in the old covenant because it is the way grace is multiplied in the life of the believer. It is the way we fellowship with our Father and receive strength. It is the way we wrestle against our enemies and overcome. Because the new covenant is one of reality and not of shadows, there are many things of eternal ramifications that we will have to pray about, and our understanding is too limited to pray these prayers appropriately. That is why the Lord gave the church the gift of tongues. And it is primarily to help us pray in the spirit. It affords the Holy Spirit the ability to pray for us, yet we are the ones praying. There are many things God wants to do for us. But He needs our input through our prayers. And many times we may not know to pray these prayers. But this problem is solved when we pray in tongues. He prays those prayers for us, yet it cannot be said in the courts of heaven that we weren’t the ones who prayed those prayers. Praying in tongues affords Him the occasion to help us in ways we did not even know we needed help. -Pastor SD Abraham Yearly Bible Plan: Deuteronomy 32-34 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational & nondenominational. After Kayode was baptized in the Holy Spirit, he found it a struggle to pray in tongues because he did not understand it. He was made to believe that whenever a person prays in tongues, they are to interpret it or they are not to pray in tongues but remain silent. He did not know that he wrongly understood 1 Cor 14:28. He also wasn’t sure that what he prayed was real tongues since it didn’t sound like any known language that anyone could understand. Many believers have been spiritually impoverished because they do not understand praying in tongues. It is a spiritual gift that helps us pray more accurately and more effectively. When we pray in tongues, we are praying in partnership with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit prays for us through our vocal chords. There are so many prayers we NEED to pray, but we do not know how to pray them because our human understanding is greatly limited. When we pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit prays for us, with us (see Rom 8:26). When you pray in an unknown tongue, it means it is unknown to men. But it is possible to pray in a known tongue that is known to other people. This manifestation of this gift is usually given as a sign. But most times, when you are praying to God, the tongue you pray with is unknown to men. When you are praying in tongues to God, you do not need the prayer to be interpreted because God understands all tongues. It is only when you are delivering a message to God’s people in tongues that it is necessary for the message to be interpreted. Go into today knowing that Praying in tongues is different from giving a message in tongues. Praying in tongues is the surest way to pray in the Spirit. All believers NEED to pray in the spirit (see Jude 1:20, Eph 6:18, 1 Cor 14:15). -Pastor SD Abraham Yearly Bible Plan: Jude (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is interdenominational & nondenominational. LOVE IS THE PERFECT BOND

For the first time in his life, Kayode was truly happy because he felt loved and accepted. In the church, he was loved by people he did not know before. Even though he came from a broken home, he was now a member of an unbreakable family. One thing Christians are to be known for the most is their love for one another. Jesus says this in John 13:35 (ISV): “This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” There is nothing that binds people together like true Christian love. It is powerful. The devil is powerless against it. Many times, we are generally afraid to love people because love makes us vulnerable. But when we love people for Christ’s sake, it makes us powerful. The easiest way to reap love is to sow love. If your marriage is suffering under forces that seek to break it, begin to sow love like never before. Begin to take out extra time to pray for your spouse. Give your time and resources like never before. Begin to sow love in larger proportions and wait for the bountiful harvest. Love is indeed the perfect bond. It will keep you together. Go into today remembering that the only thing we are to owe people is love (Rom 13:8). Because you are now born again, you have the power to love people. This is the most fruitful manifestation of the divine nature. -Pastor SD Abraham Yearly Bible Plan: Acts 25-26 (In Devotional Audio) Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:”Table Normal”; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-parent:””; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0in; mso-para-margin-right:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0in; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:”Calibri”,”sans-serif”; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:”Times New Roman”; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;}   Streamglobe is interdenominational & nondenominational. When Kayode first believed, he didn’t know how to love people. The only person he had ever loved was himself. His parents did not love him, and no one ever showed him love before he met his roommate who preached to him and led him to Christ. Because he was attending a living Christian fellowship, one of the first things he was taught as a new believer was to love. He was told that he now had the capacity and the ability to love God and love people… You may be asking if it is possible to teach a person to love. Yes. The easiest way is teaching by example. Older women in the church are even to teach younger women to love their husbands and their children (see Titus 2:4). A person who loves will give his time and his resources to the one he loves. For example, It takes love to give your time to pray for someone else. It takes love to inconvenience yourself to give your money to someone who is not you. As children of God, we have been empowered to love. Whether we feel it or not, we now have the power to love people, whether they deserve it or not (remember that God loved us when we did not deserve it). The power of love is the most powerful in the universe. Only those who are born of God have this power to love the way God does.
