The Resurrection

Romans 8:23‭-‬24 (AMPC) And not only the creation, but we ourselves too, who have and enjoy the firstfruits of the [Holy] Spirit [a foretaste of the blissful things to come] groan inwardly as we wait for the redemption of our bodies [from sensuality and the grave, which will reveal] our adoption (our manifestation as God’s sons). For in [this] hope we were saved. But hope [the object of] which is seen is not hope. For how can one hope for what he already sees? After Lara prospered beyond her imagination and started dealing with some very wealthy people who did not know or fear the Lord, she started having a crisis of faith because her faith was on shaky foundations. All her expectations and hope from the Lord were for material prosperity and settlement, but as she started dealing with people with so much more prosperity who did not care about God, her faith almost seemed useless. In Hebrews 6:1-2, we see that the resurrection of the dead is one of the foundational truths of the Christian faith. If this doctrine is not properly understood by a believer, at some point in his journey, he might run into the crises that Lara had. The teaching about the resurrection of the dead reveals to the believer that when the Lord returns, our bodies [of shame] would be changed to glorified bodies. The dead in Christ will rise first, and then we which are alive and remain will be caught up together with them(1 Thess 4:16). As today’s Bible verse teaches, this resurrection of the dead is what will reveal our true nature as sons of God. We would walk the earth with great power and glory and would rule and reign with the Lord Jesus for a thousand years on the earth (see Revelation 20:1-6). It is when this resurrection happens that the whole of creation will be set free from the bondage of corruption. That would be the reason a wolf and a lamb would be able to sleep on the same field together(see Isaiah 11:6). There would no longer be wild animals, and the elements would stop misbehaving and acting out in earthquakes, floods, storms, etc. In this hope have we been saved. The appearing of our Lord and the resurrection of the dead is the blessed hope of our calling as children of God(See Titus 2:13). Any believer who does not understand this doctrine would have his faith on very shaky ground. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. When the hope that produces faith is shallow, the faith will be shallow and unable to stand the test of time. Go into today remembering that the appearing of the Lord and the resurrection of the dead is the Blessed Hope of the believer. This is when it would be very clear that those who followed the Lord were the wise ones.Prayer: Father, help me live my life with the kingdom of God as my focus, In Jesus’ name. Cast not your pearls before swine 2

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. Mr. and Mrs. Akowe were Marriage ministers who had a very great track record of success. They had seen the Lord use them to restore many wounded and broken marriages in the church. But they recently discovered that they were no longer fruitful in their ministry. As they waited on the Lord to know why they were no longer succeeding in healing marriages through their ministry, they discovered that it was because they were now hypocrites who refused to remove the beam in their own eyes. There was now deep-rooted recentness they had towards each other, but they both covered it up and continued with the ministry. This was the reason they were no longer fruitful. In today’s verses, the Lord says we should first cast out the beam from our own eyes before we can see clearly to cast out the mote in our brother’s eyes. He then goes on to say that we should not give that which is holy to dogs and our pearls to swine. There are a number of lessons here: One is that it is impossible for a hypocritical believer to successfully remove the impurities and specs in the life of another believer. It’s a spiritual principle. See 2 Corinthians 10:6. Before you begin to attempt to help remove the mote in your Christian Brother or sister’s eye, you must be sure that the one in your eye has been removed or you would not succeed in helping. Another lesson is that the person whose eye you are to remove the spec from should be your [Christian] brother, not an outsider. Outside are the dogs (Rev 22:15). In removing the mote from your brother’s eyes, you are giving that which is Holy and precious. This kind of painstaking task is only reserved for your [Christian] brother and not for the metaphorical swine and pigs: those who do not care about God. Cast Not Your Pearls before Swine

After Henry believed in the Lord and was delivered from many dangerous habits like smoking and gambling, he now saw more clearly how those habits were destroying his life before he believed. Because of this, he tried persuading his old friends from such habits, trying to show them how bad these habits are for their health and even their finances, but they laughed at him and hated him even more. All he tried to do was to help them, but it was working the other way round. We can see from scripture (see 2 Pet 2:22) that the metaphor of dogs and swine are used for rebellious ‘believers’ (who would not be corrected because they have turned from the way and are not deceived or ignorant but know what they are doing) or unbelievers. We are not to expend our teaching, counseling, prayers, and time on such believers who have denied the faith (see 1 John 5:16). There is no need to waste your time to convince an unbeliever about the dangers of his habits (he most likely already knows), what he needs is the gospel. It is when you see a speck in the eye of your [Christian] brother or sister that you can expend your resources and time in removing it through prayer, teaching, and loving counsel. But you can only be effective in this when you have already removed the log in your own eyes (see Matt 7:5). Go into today remembering that you have limited time on this side of eternity. Make the most of it for God’s kingdom profit (see Eph 5:15-16). Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you to be more fruitful in His kingdom this new week.Want to be saved? The Gospel of God

I had a conversation with a colleague who kept telling me how he admired my lifestyle and devotion to God. He wasn’t a believer in the Lord Jesus but said he was a believer in God. We discussed how Jesus Christ is what makes the difference. You cannot preach the gospel without talking about Christ. The gospel is the message about Christ. If Christ is not in the Center of the message, it is not the gospel of God. It became necessary for Apostle Paul to make clear to the Corinthians the gospel they received so that they would know what it was and what it was not. He went on to talk about Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. He further went on to lay emphasis on the resurrection of the dead (read 1 Cor 15). The resurrection of the dead is an important aspect of our gospel message. Take it out of the gospel message and you’ve taken away hope from it (see 1 Cor 1519). Take away hope and you’ll deaden faith. Today, there is a gospel message that only seeks to focus on hope and prosperity in this life, but fails to emphasize the coming of the Lord and the resurrection of the dead. It fails to emphasize to believers that the best they can have in this life of the flesh is less than the least they would have in the life of the resurrected body. The problem with this kind of gospel is that even though it may be celebrated among none critical thinkers, it would be redundant among critical thinkers and those who are not driven by the need to alienate poverty. That’s why it appears that the gospel [popularly preached today] is losing traction in the most affluent nations of the world today. Go into today remembering that the true gospel of God focuses on Christ and brings people eternal hope (whether they are rich or poor, young or old) not just for this life but for the life to come.—Abraham Damilola Arigi 🔊Get the Audio Version of this devotional here☞ https://bit.ly/aud3597 Bible In One Year: Job 9-10 (In Devotional Audio) Audio Bible credit: Bible Experience, Zondervan Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together.Streamglobe Devotional is nondenominational and interdenominationalGet our latest sermons and resources here: https://streamglobe.org https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3597.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

Manner of thinking

For this is what pleases God. After Kemi became a widow, one of the reasons she didn’t remarry immediately was because of her children. All the men who showed interest in marrying her couldn’t hide the fact that they were not interested in her children. If she had married any of those men, it might have meant that her old parents would have to take care of her children because they would not have a happy childhood in her new home. Because of these reasons, she chose to remain unmarried. As a believer, she didn’t put her convenience first but considered her children and her parents. She wanted to repay her parents by making their lives more comfortable, not making it more stressful because of her choices. Beyond the obvious subject matter, today’s Bible verse reveals an attitude of mind that every Christian should have. A true believer should carry his own burdens and not have the character of pushing over his responsibilities to others because of his personal convenience. Many today have an entitlement mentality and would not think twice before pushing their responsibilities to others if they can. That’s not the Christian way. In the kingdom, we have a mind to carry each other’s burdens, not a mind to impose our responsibilities on others. In the world, it is more blessed to receive than to give, but in the kingdom, it is more blessed to give than to receive. This principle should guide our thought processes as new creatures in Christ. Go into today knowing that the renewal of heart and transformation of mind through the Word fundamentally changes us from self-centered selfish people into selfless loving and giving people. Any believer who has not conquered self-centeredness will find that his ability to manifest the reality and power of the divine nature is greatly limited. Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me the heart and mind of Christ. Deliver me from the old nature of selfishness and fill my heart with your love. Amen.Want to be saved? Ministry In The Marketplace

If the gift is prophecy, that individual must use it in proportion to his faith. Mayowa believed that God had called him to be a prophet because he had prophetic gifts. As he became closer to the Lord, it became clearer to him that he was not called to the pulpit, but to use his anointing in the marketplace and represent Christ there. He was a businessman, and he would use his prophetic grace to understand business trends and patterns. He would attend business meetings with people deeply involved in the occult, but they would not be able to subdue him. In a matter of six years, he dominated his industry. And this was because of the grace of God upon his life. The Lord made him very great because the Lord wanted him to become a policymaker in his country through his business influence. Politicians would seek his consent before making certain decisions in the land because of his influence. One big mistake believers make is thinking that the anointing of God upon their lives is strictly meant for Church ministry. Daniel got to the highest level of government because of the anointing of God upon his life. Jacob became a successful businessman because of the anointing of God upon his life (Gen 31:10-11). David was a successful king who never lost a war because of the anointing of God upon his life. Joseph ascended to the highest office in the land because of the anointing. Go into today remembering that as believers, we are agents for the advancement of God’s kingdom wherever He has placed us. It is time for us to start taking advantage of the anointing of God in every area and conquering territories for God.Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you always represent Him well.Want to be saved? click here: streamglobe.org/33 —Abraham Damilola Arigi 🔊Get the Audio Version of this devotional here☞ https://bit.ly/aud3594 Bible In One Year: Joshua 21-24  (In Devotional Audio) Audio Bible credit: Bible Experience, Zondervan Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together. An inheritance imperishable

By his great mercy he gave us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, that is, into an inheritance imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. It is reserved in heaven for you When Stanley accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, he was very diligent to learn the ways of the kingdom and to grow in the knowledge of God. There were many sacrifices he made for the sake of Christ and the gospel. He had to let go of certain privileges from his family because he was determined to be a disciple of Christ. After being a faithful disciple of Christ for decades, he had raised many other disciples and was now walking in great favor and influence. He was also a recipient of great honor because he had raised many young men who themselves had grown to become notable individuals in society. Seeing the wealth and honor Stanly enjoyed in the latter days of his life, Kemi said this to his hearing: “Dady has been faithful to God and is now seeing his inheritance. He labored so much in God’s vineyard and he now walks in his reward. Before Kemi finished saying this, Stanley was swift to stop her and correct her. “all that you see now is not my inheritance, it’s just a token of the mercy of God. As for my inheritance, it has been stored up in heaven. All these fleeting perishable things you see cannot even begin to be classified among the most minor manifestations of the coming kingdom of Christ. That is where my hope is locked on. That is where my inheritance can be revealed. As a child of God, it is important you understand that you have an inheritance with God. This understanding will keep you in the straight and narrow way. We have been called to inherit the Kingdom of God. Everything that God owns will be ours one day(see Rev 21:7, Rom 8:17) if we remain in Christ until he returns or calls us home. Go into today remembering that you have been chosen to be an heir of God. Your walk with God is the most important thing in your life. Be determined to invest in it. Prayer: Heavenly father, please help me never to forget that I have an unperishable inheritance in you. Help me to walk worthy of my calling and be fruitful in every good work. Foundational Truths: Laying On Of Hands 1

One of the very remarkable things that Sandra observed after she received the Holy Spirit was that the power of God was now tangibly in her life. She knew this for sure because after she received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, she gave herself to much praying in the spirit on a daily basis. She was so filled with the power of the Holy Ghost that at certain times it was as though she was drunk. You know, Ephesians says do not be drunk with wine but be filled with the Holy Spirit (see Ephesians 5:18). As Sandra continued to learn the Foundational teachings of the faith, she learned that the tangible power of the Holy Spirit that so filled her can flow to other people and cause them to be healed, delivered, etc. She also learned that this happened more easily through the laying on of hands. After the tongue which the Bible refers to as our glory(compare Psalm 16:9 and Acts 2:26 in KJV), I believe that the hands are the most important body parts for spiritual manifestation and activity. Through the lifting of our hands, we can more easily demonstrate spiritual surrender and connect with the power of heaven, and through our hands, we can more easily transmit spiritual power. It is important for us to understand this because the Lord wants us to share the virtue and power we have received from Him and help people. He says we shall lay our hands on the sick and they shall recover(see Mark 16:18). The next time you lay your hands on someone or something, be intentional about it and know that power will literally flow out of your spirit through your hands and cause a miracle or healing. Even a broken car can be miraculously fixed because you allowed power to flow from you to it through the laying on of your hands. Go into today remembering that if you’re baptized in the Holy Spirit, you have received power and this power is transmittable through the laying on of your hands. This power increases when we pray in the spirit. Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you maintain a spirit-filled life so that your body will be able to transmit His power and heal the sick, cast out devils, and solve problems. What is your focus

1 Timothy 6:9-10 (NET) Those who long to be rich, however, stumble into temptation and a trap and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all evils. Some people in reaching for it have strayed from the faith and stabbed themselves with many pains. When the Lord appeared to King Solomon and told him to ask for anything he desired, the Lord was pleased that his biggest desire was not riches, long life, or the death of his enemies, etc. His biggest wish was that he would be equipped to fulfill his divine assignment on earth. He asked for the one thing he needed the most in order for him to fulfill God’s kingdom assignment for him as the leader of God’s people. Even though Solomon did not ask for riches, God decided to bless him and make him the wealthiest king in his generation (see 2 Chronicles 1:7-13). The way God created us as humans, we have binocular vision. We do not have the ability to focus our eyes on more than one thing at the same time. If we must see a thing properly, we would have to focus on it and it alone. Even spiritually, we have the same makeup. We cannot focus on more than one heart pursuit for our lives. As believers, our only focus should be the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:36). We do not have the ability to love God and love mammon at the same time (see Matthew 6:24). If a believer’s goal in life is to be rich, that believer has already been deceived by the prince of this world. Our goal in life as believers should be to be found in the center of God’s will and pleasing Him in all things. As for the matter of our needs, God is able to supply them (see Phil 4:19). Even when money fails, God is still able to meet the needs of those who are in the center of His will. For some, because of the nature of their assignment, God will cause a lot of many to pass through their hands, but their lives are not defined by that but by how yielded they are to God. Many have strayed from the faith because they were deceived into believing that making money is the ultimate thing in life(see Luke 12:15). A day is coming when we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ (2  Cor 5:10), and what will matter then would be our stewardship not our worldly wealth. Even those the Lord gave worldly wealth as stewardship would have to give an account of how they used it for the kingdom agenda. Go into today remembering that you have been called to inherit God’s eternal kingdom(Luke 12:32), worldly wealth and power is the best the devil has to temp you out of that glorious destiny (see Matthew 4:8-10). Don’t let that happen. Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me keep my mind stayed on thee and thee alone(see Isiah 26:3). In Jesus’ name. Amen. Not yet saved? And he died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised. Before Nathan became a disciple of the Lord Jesus, he used to lie, steal and cheat. He was not an honest man and he knew it. He had a terrible reputation even though he was a churchgoer. It wasn’t that Nathan was not a believer, it was just that he did not abide in the Lord. He lived his life as though he was the owner of his life; he lived to please himself. This wasn’t entirely his fault. He did not know any better. All the sermons he ever heard were centered on how to enrich his life and get more to please himself. As Nathan began to listen to a different set of sermons, his life was now controlled by the love of God, and he now found that the power of God was present in his life to conquer the works of the flesh. Many are controlled by the love of money and the love of self, and no matter how much they try, they would find that they are not able to walk in the power of God that gives them perpetual victory over the works of the flesh. He was no longer a slave to sin. Those who are controlled by the love of God, who live to please God and not themselves, will have the power to walk above the works of the flesh. Go into today remembering that the way to overcome the power of the flesh is to die to self and start living to please God. The way to love God is to live to please Him. Want to be saved?
