God’s commandments

Ephesians 6:4 (NET) Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but raise them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Ekele observed that he was so bitter against his dad that when he heard that his dad was so sick that he might die, he felt nothing. His relationship with his father was rocky from when he was a teenager. His father always provoked him to anger, but his father never knew the extent of the hurt his actions inflicted on his children. Because Ekele was now a husband and father, it was easier for him to understand why his father did the things he did. Ekele eventually brought himself to forgive his father. One thing I’ve observed about God’s commandments to us is that they are not unnecessary. God never commands us to do the good things we would naturally do, nor does He command us not to do the evil things we would naturally not do. If God says to love your neighbor as yourself, it is because loving your neighbor is not the natural thing for the natural (Adamic) man; taking advantage of your neighbor seems more natural. But you will never see a commandment in scripture for parents to love their children, even though that is the perfect will of God. Loving your Children happens naturally, even for the Adamic man, so such a commandment is not necessary. So when you see a commandment in scripture like the one we have in today’s Bible verse, it is because what you are told not to do will most naturally happen, if you’re not careful. Children are more conditioned to the loving care and affectionate temperament of their mothers, so if fathers are not careful, they would find that they almost naturally provoke their children to anger without even realizing the extent to which they are hurting their children. If you’re raising your children according to your feelings and native temperament as a male man, you will most likely provoke them to anger and resentment. But if you will raise them as God raises us, using the Lord’s standards and mirroring His temperament, you will succeed.  Go into today remembering that God’s commandments to us are not grievous, but they help us lead wise and productive lives that honor Him. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Nehemiah 5-9 (In Devotional Audio)Credits: Bible (Bible Experience, Zondervan) Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together.Streamglobe Devotional is nondenominational and interdenominational Contact us (WhatsApp): +15155195600, +234813822454Join the Livestream of Streamglobe Word Encounter Today by 11:30Am WATAudio Stream: https://streamglobe.org/radioYoutube Stream: https://youtube.com/c/streamglobe https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3539.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

Knowing The Ways Of The Lord

Psalm 25:4 (KJV) “Shew me thy ways, O Lord ; teach me thy paths.” Cleo loved ice cream so much that she would sometime spend her last cash buying it. Her friend wasn’t particularly comfortable with her excessive spending on ice creams so she downloaded recipes for making ice creams online, watched some YouTube videos, and made her own ice cream for Cleo. “Thank you, but the one from that store has a unique taste that yours doesn’t have” Cleo said. “Yes, I noticed it too, I think that store has some secrets that I don’t know, I wish they could share them with me” Cloe’s friend responded. Cloe’s friend couldn’t make ice cream with the taste that Cleo loved because the secret was hidden from her. In the same way, we will not be able to serve the Lord the way He wants unless His secrets are revealed to us. According to Psalms 25:14 (NIV), “The LORD confides in those who fear Him; He makes His covenant known to them.” The ways of the Lord are His secrets, they are revealed only to His trusted friends. If you want to know the ways of the Lord, you must show yourself to be trustworthy. It is good to have known the Lord as your savior, that however isn’t all that there is in God, you need to learn how to become friends with God such that He can confide in you. It is only those in whom He can confide that His secrets are revealed. It is the secrets of the Lord that you know that determines the level of victory you will enjoy. Moses for instance became great because he knew the ways of the Lord, the things that frightened the children of Israel didn’t frighten him because of his knowledge of God. Go into today knowing that you can have more of God by learning His ways and becoming His friend. This begins by determining to obey Him in all things. John 14:15 says, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” Prayer: Lord Jesus, please give me the grace to obey you in all things so I can know Your ways and walk in your mighty power.—Dr. Emmanuel James Bible in 1 Year: Deuteronomy 23-25 (In Devotional Audio)Credits: Bible (Bible Experience, Zondervan) Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together.Streamglobe Devotional is nondenominational and interdenominational Contact us (WhatsApp): +15155195600, +234813822454Listen to Streamglobe 24/7 Christian Radio here☞ https://streamglobe.radio https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3538.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 21:10 — 7.3MB)Subscribe: RSS

Actualizing your new nature 3

2 Peter 1:4 (NLT) And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. After Ekene accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, he still struggled with some addictions and dirty habits that bedeviled him when he was an unbeliever. He tried all kinds of methods to break free but found that the old habits found a way of coming back. Someone introduced him to an online Bible study where he started learning and understanding the truths of scripture. As a result, he now understood how to activate faith through the word of God and grow in faith. As he read the promises of God in scripture and started truly believing and confessing them, he realized that those promises became his reality. He found that he grew in holiness so much that his desires and appetites changed. This happened as he believed the word of God that said he is sanctified through the blood of Jesus and through the word. Child of God, it is through the promises of God that we actualize the divine nature that God has destined for us as His children. This happens as our hearts hear the promises, believe them, and expect to walk in them. Go into today remembering that through faith, the power of God to walk in His nature is transmitted into our lives. Faith means we believe what God has said concerning us and walk and speak according to what we believe. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: I John 4-5 (In Devotional Audio)Credits: Bible (Bible Experience, Zondervan) Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together.Streamglobe Devotional is nondenominational and interdenominational Contact us (WhatsApp): +15155195600, +234813822454Listen to Streamglobe 24/7 Christian Radio here☞ https://streamglobe.radio https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3537.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 14:49 — 5.1MB)Subscribe: RSS

Comparing Abraham with the Scribes and Pharisees

Isaiah 51:2 (KJV) “Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him”. This conversation ensued between Bob and Richie as they surfed the internet. Richie: Bob, have you seen the latest video making rounds on social media about that popular Pastor? I didn’t expect this from him, he is such an eloquent preacher who commands a great following. Bob: Are you just knowing that he lives in immorality, cheats people, and does anything at all that will add more money into his bottomless pockets? Richie: I am surprised! How does he combine God’s work and all these evil vises? Bob: have you not read about Jesus’ teaching about the Scribes and Pharisees? We will always have people like him around. The Scribes and the Pharisees were Abraham’s children by race, but their deeds betrayed them. While Abraham got God’s recommendation as an example to follow, they got multiple rebukes from Jesus and were never to be followed. This was Jesus’ testimony concerning them, “the scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not” Matthew 23:2-3 KJV. Which of these describes you? Repent, if you are like the Scribes and Pharisees. Remember that nothing is hidden from God’s face; he knows who you truly are and he is the judge. Prayer: Ask the Lord for help to be an example of believers in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, and in purity. —Dr. Emmanuel James Bible in 1 Year: Acts 19-20 (In Devotional Audio)Credits: Bible (Bible Experience, Zondervan) Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together.Streamglobe Devotional is nondenominational and interdenominational Contact us (WhatsApp): +15155195600, +234813822454Listen to Streamglobe 24/7 Christian Radio here☞ https://streamglobe.radio https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3536.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 19:37 — 6.8MB)Subscribe: RSS

What do you seek?

Matthew 6:32(KJV) (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. After Joshua made his intentions known to Stella, she told him to give her time to pray about it.Three days later she sent him a message. The message read: “concerning what you said, I’ve been thinking about it, and I want to ask you some questions” Joshua was very excited because that message meant Stella was seriously considering his proposal. The first time he saw her in church and greeted her, she didn’t seem interested in him. But he was convinced she was the one, so he summoned courage and proposed to her. Joshua: Hello Stella, it’s nice to meet you here. Hope you didn’t find it too difficult to find this place. Hope you like their food here. Stella: nice to see you too. The food is okPlease tell me, what is the vision of your life? What do you live for? Joshua didn’t expect that kind of question, and he was not really prepared to answer such a deep question. After that conversation, Stalla knew that she could not marry Joshua. She knew so because she saw that Joshua’s pursuit in life was money and success. His goal in life was not different from that of the boyfriend she had when she was an unbeliever.  Most people live to meet their needs and enjoy themselves, but there is a higher pursuit and vision for life. This vision can only be found in Christ. If Jesus appears to you and asks you what you want Him to do for you, if your request is the same as what an unbeliever would make, you need to examine yourself and realign your heart to God’s will.—Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Malachi (In Devotional Audio)Credits: Bible (Bible Experience, Zondervan) Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together.Streamglobe Devotional is nondenominational and interdenominational Contact us (WhatsApp): +15155195600, +234813822454Listen to Streamglobe 24/7 Christian Radio here☞ https://streamglobe.radio https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3535.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

Lean Not On Your Own Understanding

Proverbs 3:5 (KJV) Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Biola was a very intelligent and hard-working person. But the people she started partnering with were in the occult and were very wise in the things of the world. When it became clear to Biola that her new business partners were not sincere at all, and at some point, they were even making enchantments to attack her, she had to cry to the Lord for help. Her understanding had failed her and she was now willing to trust in the Lord. The first mistake she made was that in her business, she made herself unequally yoked together with unbelievers. She made the mistake of entering an equal-level business partnership with unbelievers. In the beginning, the business deal looked very good and lucrative, so she entered it despite the check she had in her spirit. She entered the business partnership and leaned on her understanding rather than trusting in the Lord and obeying His word. When you trust in the Lord and lean on Him rather than leaning on your own understanding, it means you will obey His word and live according to it. His instruction may look like it is not the smartest thing to do in your current situation, but when you do not lean on your own understanding, you will obey His word rather than act according to your own understanding. This is how to trust in the Lord with all your heart. Go into today asking the Lord to empower you to trust in Him with all your heart.—Abraham Damilola Arigi Bible in 1 Year: Ecclesiastes 11-12 (In Devotional Audio) Credits: Bible (Bible Experience, Zondervan) Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together.Streamglobe Devotional is nondenominational and interdenominational Contact us (WhatsApp): +15155195600, +234813822454Listen to Streamglobe 24/7 Christian Radio here☞ https://streamglobe.radio https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3534.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download ()Subscribe: RSS

Build your life on Christ’s word

Matthew 7:24-25 (NET) “Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the flood came, and the winds beat against that house, but it did not collapse because it had been founded on rock. When Bridget became a believer and started hearing the words of Christ, she found them very strange. For example, she couldn’t understand why she was required to pray for her enemies. But as she continued in Christ, she realized that the many burdens she had been carrying all her life were no longer necessary. She was no longer living to prove any point to anyone, and for the first time in her life, she had true satisfaction, peace, and love. Bridget’s life now had a solid foundation, so when covid 19 and the inflation that followed came and left many in her industry jobless and emotionally shattered, she only became stronger and wiser as a result. As you go into this year, determine to build your life and philosophy on the words of Christ alone. In this life, the rain and storms will come, but those that can be sure that they will overcome are those who have built their lives on the words of Christ.—Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Bible Plan: Psalms 137-139 (In Devotional Audio)Credits: Bible (Bible Experience, Zondervan) Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together.Streamglobe Devotional is nondenominational and interdenominational Contact us (WhatsApp): +15155195600, +234813822454Listen to Streamglobe 24/7 Christian Radio here☞ https://streamglobe.radio https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3533.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 14:05 — 4.9MB)Subscribe: RSS

In Whom Is Your Confidence?

Psalm 27:3-4 (KJV)Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. George awoke from his dream afraid and trembling, “thank God it was a dream he exclaimed”!. In his dream, he saw one of his very respected relatives and wanted to show her courtesy when this woman suddenly turned into a dog, chased after him vehemently, and gave him multiple bites. George woke up and started praying in the spirit. Someone might ask: was George not a child of God, why then did God not stop the dog from biting him? You see, even as a Christian, a host may surround you and war may rise against you, but the state of your heart is most important. In whom is your confidence? One of the strongest wiles of the devil is fear, he knows that as long as a child of God is confident in God and fearless, he will have no place in him no matter what machinations he tries. He hence seeks every means to introduce fear. One of the easiest ways he can do this is through dreams.  David in Psalm 27:13 said, “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” Go into today putting all your confidence in Jesus, believing that you will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. The Spirit of Truth

John 16:13 (ISV) “Yet when the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own accord, but will speak whatever he hears and will declare to you the things that are to come.” Every single day presents us with opportunities to make choices and decisions. Where you are today is a result of all the choices and decisions you made in past years. As a believer, you will daily be confronted with opportunities to choose or decide to stand for the Lord Jesus or to turn your back on Him. In that very hour when you come face to face with such options, the decisions you will make will be dependent on the truth you know. When you succumb to temptation and sin, you are turning your back on Jesus. When you decide to honor the Lord Jesus and refuse to give in to that temptation no matter the cost, you have chosen to stand for the Lord Jesus. But, you see, in the hour of temptation, the devil does not fill your mind with hatred for God, but rather he makes you forget the laws of God temporarily. If you forget the word of God in the hour of temptation, it implies that the word of God is not dwelling in your heart richly, and you are defenseless against the devil. One of the reasons you need the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of Truth is that He will bring to your mind the truth you need just at the very minute you need it, whether little or much. All the forces of darkness want to obscure the truth in the hour of temptation and confuse you. But the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit, will bring to your remembrance whatever measure of truth you need to be faithful and choose Jesus above every other thing no matter the cost. This will only happen if you allow Him to lead you. Dear believer, open your heart to Him today and welcome Him. He is the Spirit of Truth, He will lead you into all truth. Actualizing your new nature 2

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. When the Lord returns to take over the governments of this earth, he will rule over the nations for 1000 years. He will establish his kingdom over every square inch of territory on the earth and those who belong to Him will rule and reign with Him. Before we begin to reign with the Lord, something very important will happen to physically change us into the nature of Christ. It is called the first resurrection; it is called so because there would be another resurrection after it, but this first resurrection is for those who are in Christ (see 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Revelation 20:4-5). So glorious would be the reign of the Lord over the earth that a 120-year-old person would be considered young because of the great health care and life expectancy His government will give the people of the earth(see Isaiah 62:20). The rulers and judges over the territories of the earth will be the saints (see 2 Corinthians 6:2-3). The saints will never grow old, sick, or ever die because they would have a glorified body just like that of Jesus Christ(see Philippians 3:21, 1 John 3:2), but the people we will rule over will just be like we are right now (before the resurrection), having mortal bodies. During the millennial reign of Christ over the earth, it will become much clearer that those who are in Christ are new creatures. They will have different kinds of bodies and destinies from those who are not in Christ– those they will rule over. Go into today remembering that in the next 20000 years, you will still be alive, either with Christ in a glorified body or far away from God in a place of torment. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Bible Plan: 1 John 1-3 (In Devotional Audio) Credits: Bible (Bible Experience, Zondervan) Kindly share this devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together.Streamglobe Devotional is nondenominational and interdenominational Contact us (WhatsApp): +15155195600, +234813822454 Listen to Streamglobe 24/7 Christian Radio here☞ https://streamglobe.radio https://listen.streamglobe.org/DevotionalAudio3530.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 16:44 — 5.8MB)Subscribe: RSS
