Discerning doctrines
1 Timothy 4:1-2 (NET) Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the later times some will desert the faith and occupy themselves with deceiving spirits and demonic teachings, influenced by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared. When Remi first heard the doctrine that insists that God does not care about her conduct, but only about her faith (as if they can be separated), she was happy because she had been struggling with certain things that came from her old life of sin before she became saved. She now decided to let go and continue in her old way of sin. But it did not take her long to know that the doctrine was a lie because she still tried to be truthful to herself and maintain a clear conscience. She observed that her communion with the Holy Spirit was truncated and her conscience violated. In the book of Jude, the Holy Spirit commands us to contend for the faith that was once and for all delivered to the saints. This faith is the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is the most holy faith, and not one that engenders unholy living. (See Jude 1:3-23). When we teach grace, we do not teach license for sin, but empowerment for righteousness. But there are some who could interpret any teaching about the grace of our Lord to mean a license for sin because they are looking for an excuse to sin. But those who seek the power to walk above sin will only find it in the grace of our Lord, and they must be taught about this. One way of differentiating the false teachings from the genuine is that the genuine empowers God’s people to live above sin, while the false systematically downplays the importance of overcoming sin. (See Heb 12:14). Ask the Lord to keep you away from false teachers and false doctrines. Ask for the discernment of the Holy Spirit.—Abraham Damilola Arigi Kindly share this Nondenominational Devotional with your contacts and let’s bless lives together. Those who trust in the Lord
Psalm 34:10 (NLT) Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing. Strong lions represent the strong in this world, they represent those who people revere and look up to when it comes to the things of this world. They are the ones who will be the last to be hungry even when there is famine. The word of God to you today is that even when strong lions are hungry and suffer from lack, you will not lack any good thing if you trust in the Lord. The Lord shall provide your every need according to His riches in glory (see Phil 4:19). You will live in divine health and not be afflicted like the people of this world. Strong lions of this world have their needs met according to the economy, but your own needs will be met according to the riches of heaven. The riches of heaven have never experienced a recession, there are diseases the riches of this world cannot cure, but there is no disease the riches of heaven cannot cure. It is always increasing. Of the increase of Christ’s government and peace, there shall be no end (Isiah 9:7). This means you will only know promotion and never demotion as you keep your heart stayed on the Lord in trust because His ever increasing government is your source of supply. Go into today remembering that all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” and through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory(2 Cor 1:20). You receive these great promises from God because of Christ. The key is faith in Christ alone. Prayer: Lord, Help me to believe your word concerning my life and trust in you always. Amen.—Abraham Damilola Arigi Kindly share this Nondenominational Devotional with your contacts and let’s bless lives together. Enter His presence
Psalm 100:4-5 (ESV) Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name! For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.Dare: what does it mean to enter His Gates?Femi: it means to come into the presence of the LordDare: but the Lord now dwells within us through His spirit, why do I need to enter His presence again.Femi: Because right now you are in my presence. Even though the Lord dwells within you, you need to enter His presence. His presence is a higher place your spirit can access. This is possible because He dwells in you. The Lord dwells in you, but He also wants you to dwell in His presence. The Lord says ‘where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them’ (Matt 18:20). One thing we must always do when we gather in His name is to give Him thanks and praise Him. The Lord inhabits the praises of His people (see Psalm 22:3). This means where His people praise Him, there He is. When you give God thanks and praise from your heart, it ushers you into a higher spiritual realm more easily. This realm is called the divine realm. Go into today remembering that the easiest way to ascend to His presence is through thanksgiving and praise. This is a realm that is most powerful. This is the realm where we multiply grace and receive wisdom. God’s will is for us to dwell in His presence always. This is the reason He wants us to be thankful and joyful always (see 1 Thess 5:16-18). Strength or weakness
2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV) And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. When Darlington was eight months old, he could speak clearly. At that tender age, he did things considered impossible for his age. He was therefore referred to as a genius. Darlington grew to be very popular because he was exceptional. However, he became very proud and arrogant. At twenty-one, he had a Ph.D. It was shortly after this that he met Christ. Christ stripped him of pride and arrogance, but his fame and intellect remained with him. These he used to serve God; he wrote many books (scientific and gospel), tracts and articles which were best-selling because of the fame he already had. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. When our weaknesses are subject to God’s authority, they give expression to God’s strength, but when we fail to subject our ‘strengths’ to the Lord’s government, they become our biggest weakness. Our gifts, talents, and endowment may either constitute strengths or weaknesses depending on who rules them. Who are you subject to? Who is lord over you? The answer to these questions will determine whether your gifts, talents, and endowment will constitute strength or weakness to you when viewed in the light of God’s kingdom. Go into today knowing that God is interested in every detail of your life. The weaknesses you struggle with today will cease to be when you subject them to God’s strength. Devices of the devil 2
2 Corinthians 2:11 (KJV) Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. Samson failed because of his inability to control his strength. But the devil can also take advantage of our weaknesses. That was what happened in the life of Judas. Judas was one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ, it was given to him by reason of election to sit on one of the twelve most powerful thrones in the kingdom (Luke 22:30). What a privilege it was! But his inability to subject his weakness to Christ’s strength led him to hell and his position given to another (Act 1:20). What was this weakness? It was the love of money. You can now see that the devil can take advantage of your strengths or weaknesses when you don’t subject them to the power of Christ. You can only do valiantly through Christ because even depending on your own strength is fruitless (Psalms 60:11). No wonder Paul said “my strength is made perfect in weakness” therefore “I am what I am now by the grace of God” (2 Cor. 12:9, 1 Cor 15:10 KJV). This is the place you must come to; that place where you depend on Christ’s strength to do all things. It is at this place that you can resist the devil and he will flee you. Go into today depending on God’s strength in everything you do. He promised to help you (Isaiah 41:10). Commit your weakness to God today and His strength will take over. Devices of the devil
Broadcast 3896The Audio Version link is at the end of this message 2 Corinthians 2:11 (KJV) …Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. In the Book of Judges, we see that Samson had a peculiar gift of power. He did wonderful things: he could remove city gates with his hands, kill lions, win battles alone, and break off any chain. As long as his consecration was maintained, Samson could do all these wonders by the power of God. But Samson failed when he fell into immorality and broke the Lord’s testimony (personalized instruction). I have noticed that when many of us first met Christ, we were more zealous and could even tell which direction [of ministry] God is leading us. But as time passes, many of us lose sight of our calling and begin to only wish we would make heaven. One of the devices of Satan is to corrupt that part of you or gift in you that should be used for God’s kingdom. For example, a prophet who should see and hear from God may begin to watch immoral movies and listen to worldly music, thereby corrupting his vision. This will eventually exaggerate his weaknesses so much that his strengths are pushed to a corner. One way not to fall into these devices is to maintain a steady and constant relationship with God through fellowship with the Holy Spirit and fellowship with God’s children, the study of the word of God and praying always. Remember that if God will not help you, you cannot help yourself. Read Psalm 60:11 Go into today knowing that when we are yielded to God, the devil will not be able to get an advantage over us. The Power Of Right Believing 2
Rom 10:10 (KJV) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Serdo woke up in the morning and was feeling very condemned and unrighteous. She felt this way because she believe that God had not forgiven her of her sins even though she had repented. She woke up with a new wave of guilt and this was going to affect the whole of her day. But she started reading the word of God, and she remembered how much God loves her as her father. She began to say ‘if God is my father, then all these things I’ve been thinking are not true. I am a child of God and I am blameless and righteous in His sight’. One of the biggest manifestations of what you believe is what you say. You can also use what you say to control what you believe (see Prov 18:21). That was what Serdo started doing, and it worked. If it looks like what you believe is not consistent with God’s word, confess God’s word until it begins to change what you believe. This can take several minutes or even hours in the place of prayer. But never forget that what you believe will control the course of your life. The Holy spirit ministers righteousness to your spirit, He is the one who makes you know that you are God’s righteous child. Satan is the one who ministers condemnation to your spirit, he always tries to make you feel you are not righteous enough and God is not pleased with you. Go into today remembering that you are to resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7). One potent tool with which to do this is the word of God. Confess what God says concerning you and resist the condemning thoughts engineered by the kingdom of darkness. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Join our chat group to start getting Streamglobe Text & Audio early every day:WhatsApp: https://chat.whatsapp.com/JnqvSRyY3I2Ce13V18ZrEoTelegram: https://t.me/streamglobe1 Bible In 1 Year: I John 1-3 (In today’s audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. The Power of Right Believing 1
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) No temptation has overtaken you except as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it Pastor Dan:… and Ikenna, don’t forget that God will never allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to handle. Ikenna: But Pastor, my experience says the contrary. The temptations I’ve been facing are much more than what I can handle. That is why I am here to see you sir. Pastor Dan: You underestimate yourself spiritually. Do you not know that what you believe and say would control your life? What you believe is very important, even your salvation is as a result of what you believe. You believed in the Lord Jesus and received His salvation. One of the biggest deceptions of the devil against Christians is to make us believe that the temptations we face are insurmountable. As soon as you begin to believe that you cannot overcome a temptation, you have weakened yourself and greatly reduced your power to overcome. But if you go into every day believing God’s word that He will not allow any temptation that is beyond your strength to come your way, even though you see a temptation that looks beyond your strength, you will find a way of escape. Go into today knowing that what you believe is very important. Never ever believe that there is any challenge you can face that you cannot overcome. Your Father in heaven who controls all things will never let such challenges come your way. Prayer: Thank the Father for His word today. The place of prayer 2
Matthew 26:41 (KJV) Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Kole received a huge promotion. He knew he would be exposed to a lot of money in this new position. Most of the people who occupied that office before him became very rich by unjust means through that office. But Kole knew God was putting him in that office to represent Christ and be a beacon of righteousness. But when he truthfully evaluated himself, he realized that he did not have enough strength to resist the temptations of that office. He decided to conquer this weakness in the place of prayer. He prayed until he knew he had received the strength to resist the temptations of that office. When Jesus was tempted to abandon the cross and not do the Father’s will, He prayed until he prayed through and received strength for the task ahead. The way to handle temptation is by prayer, it is not by boldface. If you begin to sense that you do not have the strength to overcome a particular temptation that is coming your way, pray about the issue until you receive strength to overcome it. Prayer is the way through which the weak flesh receives strength to do what the spirit wills. Many Christians have become carnal and fleshly because they have abandoned their place of prayer. Go into today remembering that prayer is the way through which the grace of God in your spirit is transmitted to your [weak] flesh that wants to make you fall. You have to always be truthful in your evaluation of yourself and pray to overcome any perceived weakness. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Join our chat group to start getting Streamglobe Text & Audio early every day:WhatsApp: https://chat.whatsapp.com/JnqvSRyY3I2Ce13V18ZrEoTelegram: https://t.me/streamglobe1 Bible In 1 Year: Acts 17-18 (In today’s audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational. The Place of Prayer
Matthew 21:12-13 (NET) Then Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all those who were selling and buying in the temple courts, and turned over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves. And he said to them, “It is written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are turning it into a den of robbers!”When Dayo moved to the city he started attending a church that was very popular, but something was missing in that church. They didn’t pray much. They even despised the idea of having all night prayer meetings (even though many of the church members who were very busy during the week would have found that an opportunity to pray and spend quality time with God), and their normal meetings hardly exceeded 90mins. In such meetings one wouldn’t get to pray for more than 10mins. Dayo’s smartphone was stolen the first Sunday he attended that church, the next Sunday, somebody reached into his pocket and stole his money inside the church. Many of his church brothers and sisters were business people using the church as a place to meet clients. In just three weeks, Dayo had been approached (in church) by 9 different multi-level marketing proposals. It was clear that many of the church members didn’t really love God. We can learn from today’s Bible verses that when prayer has been taken away from God’s house, it becomes a den of robbers. God’s house should be a place of prayer, but if it is not, it becomes a den of thieves. Your life should be a life of prayer because you are also God’s temple. If there is one activity that you do the most, it should be praying. Go into today remembering that God wants you to pray without ceasing (see 1 Thess 5:17). This is the secret of a healthy spiritual [and physical] life in Christ. Prayer increases the flow of grace and power.—Abraham Damilola Arigi Join our chat group to start getting Streamglobe Text & Audio early every day:WhatsApp: https://chat.whatsapp.com/JnqvSRyY3I2Ce13V18ZrEoTelegram: https://t.me/streamglobe1 Bible In 1 Year: Zechariah 8-14 (In today’s audio) Streamglobe is nondenominational.
