2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (NET) Therefore “come out from their midst, and be separate,” says the Lord, “and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,” says the All-Powerful Lord.
Aarav truly walked in spiritual authority over demons and it was evident to his family and members of his community. There was a time that a Hindu priest felt offended by the fact that Aarav parked his bike too close to his shrine. It was reported that the priest placed a curse upon Aarav and his bike, but when Aarav heard about this, he was not the least disturbed. He simply muttered some scriptures and moved on. That same week, instead of hurt coming to him, the Hindi priest had a ghastly bike accident and was bedridden for three months. A Great fear for Aarav came upon that priest and his followers after that incident.
Many of the Christians in Aarav’s community were weak and could not appropriate their power of sonship because they were not truly separated unto the Lord and had they cleansed themselves from defilements of flesh and spirit. Aarav was different because he understood better.
Through faith in Christ Jesus and baptism in the Holy Spirit, we have received the power to become sons of God. But as today’s scripture reveals, this will only happen when we use this power to sanctify ourselves unto the Lord.
Go into today remembering that the power we have received to become sons of God makes us holy. Holiness is the key that unlocks the dimension of sonship and authority.
