Your Work Will Be Tested

1 Corinthians 3:13-15 (KJV) Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Caleb visited Jude but couldn’t see him because he was on a retreat. He visited again after several days and still couldn’t speak with Jude because the retreat had not ended. After some time, Caleb met Jude in the Church and asked ‘‘Jude, what were you praying for?’’ Jude put up a smile and said ‘‘I want the mantle of Apostle Paul”. Oh, that’s a great one! Caleb exclaimed. Shortly after this Caleb and Jude were appointed by their Pastor to oversee cleaning the Church, but Jude became very sad. Why are you sad? Caleb asked. ‘‘Don’t you get it? I want to be an apostle, not a common Church cleaner” Jude responded. Just like Jude, many zealous children of God have despised the current assignment God gave them for other works they consider to be more prestigious. In a bid to be celebrated as great servants of God they have created offices for themselves. Others have spent their lives desiring to be greatly used by God while abandoning the everyday assignment committed to them by Him. They do not realize that only those who are faithful in little can be given much, and only those who are faithful in another man’s work can be given their own (see Luke 16:10-12). Apostle Paul explained that what he had done was according to the grace given to him. Neither he nor Apollos chose to be apostles; they simply followed God and became what He ordained them to be. 1 Corinthians 3:5-6 (KJV) Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. Your hard work will gain eternal relevance when in the spirit of humility and service, it is channeled in the direction of the grace given to you (1 Corinthians 15:10). Go into today knowing that God will reward you only for the work He has sent you to do. Self-appointed assignments would count for nothing and be burned up on that day. Prayer: ask the Lord for a humble and obedient heart. — Dr, Emmanuel James Yearly Bible Reading: Mark 1-2 (In Devotional Audio) Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. Faithful In Little

Luke 16:10 (NET) “The one who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and the one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. Chief Ola wanted to know which of his many children would be able to control his vast estate. He loved all of them dearly, but he wanted the most faithful ones to take charge of the company. He decided to give them tasks and watch how faithful and productive they would be. He created small businesses for them, and he gave them guidance on how to effectively and successfully run the businesses. One of the things God is achieving through time is to select his children who would be worthy of wielding His great authority over the entire universe for all eternity. Jesus brought not only salvation but the Kingdom. Salvation is not an end; it is the means to an end — inheriting the eternal kingdom of God. God made us in His image and after His likeness because He wanted us to rule the universe with Him. Sin came to abort this agenda, so God had to come in the form of flesh to rescue man [from sin] and bring him back to the kingdom. He did this because of His great love. God has given you assignments on this earth; He has also given you gifts and resources to help you accomplish these assignments. Your eternal kingdom ranking will be determined by how faithful you are in your kingdom assignment here on earth. Your assignment in this realm of time may look really big, but the Lord calls it the little things that will determine your eligibility for the great things of His eternal kingdom. Go into today remembering that God has ordained you to bring forth fruits (see John 15:16). He will reward you according to your work (see Rom 2:6, Rev 22:12). -Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Bible Plan: Isaiah 56-61 Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. Are You A Child Or A Son?

Galatians 4:1 (KJV) Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all. You are a child of God because God is your father and He is responsible for you. You become His son however because you can represent him and are responsible to Him. Children are born while sons are given (Isaiah 9:6 and John 3:16). To be born again is good since it is the beginning of your walk with the Father, however, it is better that you grow into a son and best that you keep growing. You are a son when your Father can give or send you to a person, a group, or a nation to represent Him. It is only to sons that God will commit His estate. Matthew 11:27 (KJV) puts it this way in speaking of Jesus, ‘All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him.’ Growing into a son requires that you receive the life and wisdom of your father, and by reason of these become like your father, such that whosoever sees you will see your father through you. You are not the one to declare yourself a son, that is the Father’s to do (Galatians 4:2 and Romans 1:4). However, you can know that you are growing out of childhood into sonhood (maturity) by measuring how much of you has been totally given to God. The extent to which you have given yourself to God is the extent to which He can give you as an answer to the problem of others. Go into today knowing that God is seeking sons who will represent Him. It is your level of growth that will determine how useful you will be to God. So, if you desire to be used by God, you must seek to grow. Pray this way: Father, I commit myself to learning and obeying your word and growing into sonship. Help me Lord to do this, in Jesus name. Amen. —Dr. Emmanuel James BiblevIn One Year: Job 21-22 Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. Kindly share this Devotional with your contacts and let’s touch lives together. Growing Into Adulthood

Hebrews 5:12-14 (KJV)[12] For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. [13] For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. [14] But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil When a baby is born, the expected is that he takes milk for some time, be weaned, eat solid food and grow to become a responsible adult. But when a child refuses to be weaned and grow, such a child becomes a source of worry and concern to his parents. Just like that baby who has refused to grow because he has refused to be weaned, some Christians today are a source of concern to the Church of God and God Himself. They are being fed the word of God but there is nothing in them that shows it; they have refused to grow. The hallmark of adulthood is responsibility. A man is mature only to the level to which he is responsible. A man who claims to be an adult but shies away from responsibility is still a child. “Whom shall He teach knowledge, and whom shall He make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little” (Isaiah 28:9-10 KJV). You have learned and studied the word of God, now is the time to put what you have learned to practice. It is with constant practice that mastery is cultivated and it is by this that you will be able to discern between good and evil and fulfill your destiny. Go into today knowing that God will only be glorified in you when you bear much fruit. Only adults can bear much fruit, not children. —Dr. Emmanuel James YEARLY BIBLE PLAN: Psalms 30-32 Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. He Experienced Death For You

Hebrews 2:9 (NET) But we see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by God’s grace he would experience death on behalf of everyone. Because Vivian believed that God had withdrawn His grace and protection from her because of her sin, she was very afraid of traveling because she felt she would have an accident and die. Unknown to her, she was now being afflicted by the spirit of guilt and fear, but she thought it was the Holy Spirit that was making her feel the way she felt. When she started having nightmares, she decided to talk to someone about her guilt and misery. She was lucky to talk to someone who had spiritual understanding, and the first thing the person did after hearing Vivian’s story was to hold her hands and rebuke the spirit of guilt and fear that had been tormenting her. She now went on to explain to Vivian that she was already forgiven in Christ, but she needed to receive God’s forgiveness and cleansing by believing God’s word that she has forgiveness in Christ Jesus. Forgiveness of sins and cleansing from unrighteousness is freely available for all. In Christ Jesus, God came and suffered death for everyone so that we will not have to suffer the [spiritual] consequences of our sins. Just like God’s glorious salvation and the Holy Spirit, forgiveness is freely available, but the problem is that people do not receive it. The devil works overtime to blind people from knowing this. Go into today remembering that forgiveness of sins and cleansing from unrighteousness is freely available in Christ Jesus. You do not need to earn it, you only need to receive it freely. —Abraham Dami Arigi Yearly Bible Plan: I Samuel 1-5 Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. Perseverance in Good Works

Romans 2:6-8 (NET) [God] will reward each one according to his works: eternal life to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality, but wrath and anger to those who live in selfish ambition and do not obey the truth but follow unrighteousness. One thing we must immediately note here is that these verses above were written to believers in Rome and not unbelievers. These were people who already believed in the Lord Jesus and were now members of the church in Rome. One would immediately wonder if in writing this, Apostle Paul forgot all about the doctrine of justification by faith and the gift of righteousness? But he didn’t. It was further in this letter that he gave some of his most profound teachings on these topics. What then does today’s Bible verse mean? How does it apply to the believer? It’s a warning for believers not to continue in the sins that Jesus came to save them from. It’s an admonition to believers who continue to practice sin in hypocrisy, but remain in church and even judge those who are caught in the same sins. (Read Romans 2 from verse 1 to get a clearer picture). Go into today remembering that the faith that saves is one that is alive and not dead (see James 2:4). One sign of living faith is the presence of good works. For faith without works is dead. A sign of justifying[living] faith in the life of a believer is perseverance in good works. Not saved? Liberation Through The Word

Psalm 119:11 (KJV) Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. After Chide accepted the Lord Jesus, he struggled with many of his previous bad habits and sins. When he discussed this with his discipler, his discipler would recommend prayer and fasting. Chide observed that the prayer and fasting worked in keeping his flesh at bay, but when the fasting was over, he observed that the flesh would spring back up and seek to control him. His spiritual life was like a seesaw; on fire today and down tomorrow. One day he saw his friend reading a book about the kingdom of God and he was drawn to it. He borrowed the book and started reading it. For the first time, Chide came into an understanding of God’s Truth and kingdom. From then, he was now excited to read the Bible, and even ‘the old testament’ now made sense to him. He observed that as he became a person of the Word, his prayers became much more powerful and he was now free from the bondage of sin. He received His freedom through the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus told those who believed in Him that it is when they abide in His word that they would know the truth, and the truth will make them free(see John 8:31-34). I have come to realize that the most effective way to escape the power of sin is through abiding in God’s word. The way God sanctifies us is through His word [which is Truth] (see John 17:17). The word of God is the spiritual water that cleanses and renews the minds of those who are born again( see Eph 5:26). Go into today determined to be a person that abides in God’s word. Arise, shine 1

Isaiah 60:2 (KJV) For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. Many times Muna read the news, she was terrified by the proliferation of iniquity and the wantonness of the wicked. Everything seemed to be getting worse, not better. She started to get really discouraged when the Lord comforted her by reminding her of today’s Bible verse. From that moment, she changed her view of life and determined that in spite of the fact that things were getting worse, she was getting better. From that time, she realized growth and increase in her life in every area. She also realized that the Lord promoted her and increased her level of influence when He got her to change her outlook on life. One of the disciplines the Lord taught her was to avoid complaining but learn to be thankful for her light in the midst of the darkness in this world. As darkness covers the earth in these last days, God’s promise to His own is that His light will arise upon us and His glory will be seen in us. During these last days when there would be a great rebellion against God in the world(see 2 Thessalonians 2:3), there would be a great revival among God’s people. This revival would herald the preaching of the true gospel to the ends of the earth(Matthew 24:14). While gross darkness covers the people and they become more godless and wicked, God’s own people will become more godly and steadfast. As you go into today, determine not to be fazed by the growing corruption and darkness in the world. Determine not to complain or allow the spirit of defeat in (that is the devil’s strategy to keep you down). Remember that in spite of the growing darkness in the world, God’s light shines brighter over and within you. Confession: I arise and shine(Isaiah 60:1). I am God’s light in this world(Matthew 5:14). My life radiates the Lord’s glory and brings Him praise. Overcoming Spiritual Barriers

Ephesians 4:31-32 (KJV)Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. When Tyron was a child, his family moved to a neighborhood where they were the minority race, and because of this, he grew up hearing racial slurs and curse words. Unknown to him, he had developed a lot of bitterness, hatred, and racism in his heart. So much so that his faith in Christ couldn’t affect his politics. As a businessman running his business with the principles of righteousness, it later became clear that he was under a certain kind of spiritual limitation. There seemed to be a bar he could not cross no matter how hard he tried. It took him some quality time of waiting on the Lord to realize that there was bitterness and hatred in his heart towards the majority race in his country. As soon as he repented of this hatred and forgave that race for what their ancestors had done against his race, his doors opened and the bar was removed. He now started walking in the blessing of Abraham. There are many believers today who live lives that are less than God’s ideal for them because there is hidden bitterness and hatred in their hearts. I believe one reason apostle Paul could do more than the other apostles was because he walked above tribal and racial bias. The word of the Lord to someone today is that if you will just let go of tribal/racial bias, you will do exploits in the world for God. Go into today remembering that there is no room for racism and tribalism in the kingdom of God. Forgive just as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you. —Abraham Damilola Arigi Yearly Bible Reading: Isaiah 51-55 Streamglobe is Interdenominational and nondenominational. Live Worthily of the Calling

Ephesians 4:1-3 (NET) I, therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live worthily of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Since the day Colins and Candy got married, they had bitter quarrels and misunderstandings. Colins had this perfect idea of what his ideal wife should be like, but he was disappointed because after marrying Candy, he found that she didn’t meet his expectations. Candy, on the other hand, wanted Colins to be a perfect gentleman she could control, but Collins was anything but that. What made matters sadder was that they were both leaders in the church, but they didn’t seem to know how to live in peace with each other. After going for marriage counseling with their pastor, they realized that the root of their problem was pride and a lack of willingness to bear with one another in love. When they both came to terms with the fact that they were proud and needed to humble themselves, they started to have a happy marriage. One of the ugliest things to see is Christian fellowships or homes in which there are divisions and dissensions. Most of the time, it takes a conscious effort on our part to maintain peace. A believer who is quarrelsome and divisive is not living in a manner worthy of His calling in God. How do believers live worthily? We do so by making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Many times, in dealing with people, if there would be peace and unity of spirit, we have to be willing to be patient and bear with them in love. This is only possible when we are humble and gentle. A proud person cannot do this. Go into today remembering that walking in a manner worthy of the Lord enables you to walk in the glorious power and liberty of the Lord. Humility and gentleness are key attributes of those who walk in a manner worthy of the Lord. Prayer: Lord, help me walk in a manner worthy of my calling in You and please You in all things. Amen.
