Be Strengthened in the Lord 2
Download Today’s Audio: bit.ly/audDev2023 You are invited to the 2019 Streamglobe Conference | Date: July 18th-20th, 2019 | Venue: Holy Faith Bible Church, Lokoja, Nigeria. | Guest Speaker: Apostle Arome Osayi | Register for the Conference Here: www.streamglobe.org/conference2019 Ephesians 6:10 (NET) Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the strength of his power. One of the reasons Blake was so depressed was because he lost all his money in a bad business deal. His mortgage and car payment were due and he knew he was going to lose everything. After learning about the secret of spiritual strength and joy in the Lord, he realized that he had always depended on his money in the bank as his source of security and strength. As he started trusting in the Lord and drawing his strength and security from the Lord, he saw the Lord’s hand restoring his finances and increasing him beyond his imagination. This all happened because he started drawing his strength and security from the Lord. When a person is strong in the Lord, it means his backup and security in life is the Lord. Many people in this world draw their strength from the amount of money they have in their bank account. In this world, there is a kind of confidence and strength a man with a lot of money will have that an average man who has nothing would not have. What the Lord is telling us today is that the source of our strength in life must always be in the fact that we have Him as our support and security. He is stronger and more reliable than millions in any bank account. He can do for us what money can do and cannot do. A man who draws his strength and confidence from the arm of flesh(the money he has) cannot be strengthened in the Lord. Such a man would not have sufficient stamina and strength to withstand the powers of darkness and wrestle them unto victory. Remember that our wrestle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces (see Ephesians 6:12). If our wrestle were against flesh and blood, drawing our strength from the arm of flesh and material wealth would have been sufficient. But since we would have to contend spiritual wickedness in this world, we need to draw our strength from the Lord. Go into today with the assurance that the Lord is more reliable and faithful than lots of money in the bank. Determine today to let the Lord alone be your source of strength and confidence in this life. Prayer: Renounce every way you have depended on your wealth rather than on the Lord. Confess that your strength comes from the Lord and in Him alone will you trust. Confession: I will not trust in money but trust in the Lord with all my heart. I will not serve money but serve the Lord my God. Money will serve me, I will not serve money. In Jesus name. Amen. -Pst. Abraham Damilola Arigi Want to be born again? Be Strengthened in the Lord
Download Today’s Audio: bit.ly/audDev2022 The prayer bulletin for today’s prayer and fasting program is available on this webpage: www.bit.ly/32d7dCj Ephesians 6:10 (NET) Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the strength of his power. Blake was now really weak because of the many battles he had faced and lost (at least that was his thinking). He didn’t feel strong enough because he had been beaten down so many times in life. He continued in this state of spiritual weakness until he heard a sermon about the joy of the Lord. That was the day he realized that spiritual strength and joy in the Holy Ghost cannot be separated. He determined from that day that he would never allow the devil to steal his joy and strength again. Because of this decision, he gradually but surely came out of his depression and started doing exploits for the Lord again. One of the easiest ways the devil deceives people into weakness is by tempting them to sin so that as a result, they would lose the joy of their salvation. There’s this resident joy in the heart of everyone who has received God’s kingdom, and this joy is a fruit of the Spirit. But when believers violate their consciences, it sets their spirits into a mood of mourning and this can rob them of this joy of salvation. That’s why after David’s iniquity, he cried to the Lord to restore to him the joy of His salvation(see Psalm 51:12). The devil can also attempt to rob us of this joy by orchestrating circumstances around us that are unfavorable. But we must not forget that one way to be strong in the Lord is to rejoice in the Lord always(see Philippians 4:4) because the joy of the Lord is our strength(see Nehemiah 8:10). Go into today remembering that being strengthened in the Lord is to rejoice in the Lord and let your hope and confidence come from the Lord. Trust in the Lord’s faithfulness at all times. He is more faithful than your mind has the ability to understand. -Pst. Abraham Damilola Arigi Want to be born again? What shall we say then? Are we to remain in sin so that grace may increase? Absolutely not! How can we who died to sin still live in it? The dirtier a cloth is, the more the quantity of detergent that would be provided by the cleaner in order to clean it. When an article of white clothing has been truly dirtied such that ordinary detergent cannot properly clean it, a good laundryman would bring out the bleach and apply it. But he would not apply bleach to clothe merely dirtied by sweat. But you don’t say because there is abundant detergent in the house, you will intentionally dirty your cloth. That’s acting like an undisciplined child. The more sin abounded, much more grace was required to fix sin. It was important that the law came first because it provided a basis for the abundant grace that would occasion the coming of Jesus. When the law came, sin only abounded the more because people now not only disobeyed the laws of God they understood intuitively through conscience, they also disobeyed the commands of God now telling them not to sin. Sin was now double disobedience because of the law that came. Thus, it became necessary for the ultimate sacrifice to atone for sins. That’s why it is to the people the law came that grace came to also. Go into today remembering that if you are in Christ, you are dead to sin and alive to righteousness. Regardless of your experience or defeats, insist on this by faith, and act accordingly by fleeing all appearances of evil. You will find God’s power of grace if, by faith, you continue to reckon yourself dead to sin. Remember, grace is received through faith. Prayer: heavenly father, help me reckon myself dead to sin and walk in your abundant grace. Amen. -Pst. Abraham Damilola Arigi Want to be born again? Christ and The Law
Download Today’s Audio: bit.ly/audDev2020 You are invited to the 2019 Streamglobe Conference | Date: July 18th-20th, 2019 | Venue: Holy Faith Bible Church, Lokoja, Nigeria. | Guest Speaker: Apostle Arome Osayi | Register for the Conference Here: www.streamglobe.org/conference2019 Romans 10:4 (KJV) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Grace is the greatest gift that the earth has ever known or will ever know. All that is available for the Church in Jesus Christ from God is packaged in grace, hence the devil is out with every available means that there is in his kingdom to cause a corruption of the message of grace. You may have heard that all that is needed for Christians in our dispensation is the new testament and that the old testament is old and has been done away with. One common quote to back the above is from our text and it is commonly quoted as, ‘for Christ is the end of the law’. However, this quote is incomplete. Now, let’s see the complete quote, ‘For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.’ Christ did not put an end to the law, no, he put an end to the law for righteousness. Christ has put an end to righteousness by the works of the law, simply put, good works do not make us righteous, instead, we were made righteous to do good works and this righteousness is by faith in Jesus Christ. Read Matthew 5: 17-18. Go into today knowing that if the righteousness you have does not produce good works, you are not righteous(see 1 John 3:7). Christ did not come to raise a lawless Church, He came to raise a righteous church without spot or wrinkle or any such thing (Ephesians 5:7). Prayer: Lord, deliver me from every spirit of lawlessness, and help live a life ruled by your grace. Amen. -Dr. Emmanuel James Want to be born again? Be Strong and Confident
Download Today’s Audio: bit.ly/audDev2019 You are invited to the 2019 Streamglobe Conference | Date: July 19th-20th, 2019 | Venue: Holy Faith Bible Church, Lokoja, Nigeria. | Guest Speaker: Apostle Arome Osayi | Register for the Conference Here: www.streamglobe.org/conference2019 Psalms 31:24 (NET) Be strong and confident, all you who wait on the Lord! When Henry was in the hospital recovering from open heart surgery, the doctors and nurses all had this to say about him: ‘He is really strong’. They said this not because of his physical strength, but because of his will power and determination to recover against all odds. He was determined to get well, in spite of the many complications that came. He was always positive and didn’t seem to ever allow depression and sorrow overshadow him. He eventually got well and was discharged. One attribute that should always be found in the lives of those who wait on the Lord is strength and confidence. Strength is that ability not to be discouraged when others are. It is that spirit that makes you see the possibilities when others are complaining and quitting. Those who wait on the Lord cannot afford to be complainers and quitters. They are optimistic and hopeful because the one in whom they trust is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. Being strong and being confident in life always go together. We are admonished to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Being strong in the Lord means never giving up and complaining. It means never letting circumstances control our mood. Strong people don’t let circumstances control their mood, they control circumstances with their faith and courage. Go into today remembering that in order to fruitful in waiting on the Lord, you must be strong and confident. Replace every complaining in your heart with thanksgiving and praise to the Lord. Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me to be strong and confident as I navigate this journey of life. Help me to see your goodness in the land of the living, In Jesus name. Amen. -Pst. The Night Cometh
Download Today’s Audio: bit.ly/audDev2018 You are invited to the 2019 Streamglobe Conference | Date: July 19th-20th, 2019 | Venue: Holy Faith Bible Church, Lokoja, Nigeria. | Guest Speaker: Apostle Arome Osayi | Register for the Conference Here: www.streamglobe.org/conference2019 John 9:4 (KJV) I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. The first persons that taught me the way of the Lord were my parents. They were young and full of strength, and it seemed they’ll live forever but they both have left this world to be with the Lord, and none of them living to be seventy years old. My mom always sang me the poem, ‘ tic, tic, tic says the clock, tic, tic, tic, what you have to do, do quick’. The poem wasn’t just for me, it was for them also, because, if there were things they couldn’t do in their lifetime, they never can do those things again. Jesus answered in John 11:9 ‘Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world’. There is a time allotted to you and to this time are attached duties or assignments collectively referred to as purpose. You are here for a purpose whether you are aware of it or not and the time allotted to you is just enough for your assignment, such that any time wasted is a great waste. Note that, once your time is up, you’ll be called home whether or not you’ve finished your assignment. It is hence very important that you spend your time wisely doing the things that are assigned to you. You must also know that we will all stand before God to give an account of how we spent our time (see 2 Corinthians 5:10). Now that you still have some time, don’t you think you should find out what you’re here for and begin to do it? Not forgetting that whether you do what you’re here for or not, when your time is up, you’ll leave the earth. Go into today making up your mind not to live life anyhow. This, you will do by finding out why you’re here and fulfilling it. -Dr. Emmanuel James Want to be born again? Abundant Grace 4
Download Today’s Audio: bit.ly/audDev2017 You are invited to the 2019 Streamglobe Conference | Date: July 19th-20th, 2019 | Venue: Holy Faith Bible Church, Lokoja, Nigeria. | Guest Speaker: Apostle Arome Osayi | Register for the Conference Here: www.streamglobe.org/conference2019 Romans 5:21 (NET) so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. When Denis was an unbeliever, he did not know that he was spiritually dead, but when he accepted the Lord Jesus and became born again, his spirit now became alive to God and he now had a personal relationship with the Lord. Because of this new relationship with God, grace reigned in his life. As a result, sin no longer had dominion over him(see Romans 6:14) and he now walked in great spiritual power. He totally understood Romans 5:21(today’s verse) because it was his experience. Because of his right standing with God that led to him having a robust relationship with God, grace reigned in his life and he enjoyed the numerous benefits. He understood that the source of this grace was his relationship with God. Before he was born again, he was spiritually dead and could not have a relationship with God. Because of this, sin reigned in his life through death(disconnection from God). But now that he was born again, he was now dead to the old life of sin and made alive to the new life of righteousness. 2 Peter 1:2 reveals that grace and peace are multiplied to us through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. The knowledge of God has been made possible through the righteousness of Christ we have inherited because of our faith in Him. Grace and peace are spiritual substances that can fill us (see John 1:14) and empower us to live the divine life in these bodies of flesh. One of the biggest issues in the world today is that believers have received the gift of righteousness through faith in Christ, but they do not use this gift to cultivate a robust relationship with God, and because of this, grace does not reign in their lives but they still struggle with sin. Go into today knowing that the basis of our right standing and relationship with God is the righteousness of Jesus. This inherited righteousness should be the basis of a relationship with God that would cause His grace to multiply in our lives and empower us to live righteous lives that give expression to the blessing (see Psalm 24:4-5). Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you always remember that your relationship with Him is not based on your righteousness but based on the righteousness of Christ. Ask the Lord to help you cultivate a robust relationship with Him and live a life ruled by His grace and peace. -Abraham Damilola Arigi Want to be born again?
