CALLED TO PREACH OR TEACH?

Get Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1790 1 Corinthians 9:16 (NET) For if I preach the gospel, I have no reason for boasting, because I am compelled to do this. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! When Gbenga was a child, he had several dreams of him preaching on crusade grounds. It looked to him like that was the kind of life the Lord was calling him to live, but As Gbenga grew older and became more encumbered with the vicissitudes of life, he was no longer sure. A time came that more than any other thing in his life, he wanted to certain about his call. Many have asked me how to know if they are called to preach and teach (all the fivefold ministries involve preaching and/or teaching). My first concern is to be sure they are spiritually healthy. After it has been established that the believer is spiritually healthy, the next thing to look out for is if there is a burning desire in him to preach, even if there is no [physical] reward or glory. If spiritually healthy, those with a call need no persuasion to minister. They would be compelled from within to preach. They would be willing to spend their money just to get people to listen to them, etc. Like Jeremiah, if they try to hinder themselves from preaching, the word will be like fire in their bones (see Jeremiah 20:9). Like Paul, their souls would cry out “Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel”. For a man with a call to preach or teach, no matter what his earthly achievements are, he would not feel fulfilled until he fulfills his call. He would always feel empty and hollow inside, no matter how loaded he is outside. Go into today asking the Lord to deliver you from every spiritual disease that hinders people from discerning the necessity of their call. —Pastor SD Abraham Yearly Bible: Jonah Get sermons here☞ streamglobe.org/34 Want to be saved? GOD BREATHED SCRIPTURES

Get Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1789 Ephesians 2:20 (KJV) And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone. I recently saw a post on social media and there a young man was claiming that he had more revelations and Rhema than the apostles did because Jesus said we would do greater works. He went on to rebuke and criticize those he deemed as ‘myopic’ and ‘religious’ brethren who think they cannot have more revelation than what the apostles wrote in the Bible. People who believe what he believes are those who say things like ‘Paul wrote that because he had not yet received sufficient revelation into the mystery of the gospel’. They are those who teach the ‘deep things of Satan’(see Rev 2:24) and call it the deeper things of the gospel. They forget that All scripture is God-breathed (see 2 Tim 3:16). Every piece of writing that made it to the Bible (scriptures) made it as a result of God’s divine orchestration. The Apostles and prophets referred to in today’s Bible text are the ones who wrote the Bible under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Under the inspiration of God, the Old Testament was written by The Prophets, and the New Testament was written by The Apostles. If tomorrow, we find Apostle Paul’s personal journal and jottings or we discover other letters Apostle Peter wrote to the churches, neither the discovered jottings nor letters would become part of scripture, and would not be treated as such. Many other letters were written by the apostles, but the ones the Holy Spirit allowed to make it to the Bible is now our scripture. Go into today remembering that the Bible is God’s gift to you. It was carefully orchestrated and arranged by the Holy Spirit over many centuries. Any revelation that is ‘deeper’ than what the scripture reveals is nothing by a false doctrine of men and demons. Prayer: Ask the Lord to keep you from the spirit of error. —SD Abraham Yearly Bible: Proverbs 28 To start getting Devotional Text & Audio on your WhatsApp, join our WhatsApp Group Here☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/LdffZGRpQNXKXLympzwWO0 Streamglobe is interdenominational. HONOR AND THE BLESSING 2

Get Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1788 1 Corinthians 9:14-15 (RSV) In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel. But I have made no use of any of these rights, nor am I writing this to secure any such provision. For I would rather die than have any one deprive me of my ground for boasting. When a Child is born into a royal family, even though by heritage, he is a prince and will inherit great wealth, no one will entrust the great wealth into his hands while he is still a child. We saw previously how that Paul refused to collect offerings from the Corinthians but would rather work with his hands while doing ministry among them. He did this because of the peculiarity of the Corinthians, and he didn’t want anything to be a hindrance to the furtherance of the gospel. We also saw that in his letter, Paul now taught them that it is a principle of God’s kingdom for the people to minister their material things to those who minister spiritual things to them. The fact that the Corinthians didn’t understand this was another proof that they were still spiritual babes (see 1 Cor 3:1-3). Apostle Paul wasn’t telling them this because he was trying to raise an offering from them, but because he wanted them to be built up into maturity and walk in the attendant glory. Any believer who has not conquered this mater of giving is still dominated by the flesh. The truth is that those whose hands are closed (with regard to giving) are still spiritual babes, regardless of the gifts in their lives. One sign of spiritual maturity is the ability to give sacrificially. Go into today remembering that spiritual maturity covers all aspects of your life, especially the way you spend your money.Luke 16:11 (NET):If then you haven’t been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will entrust you with the true riches? FAITH BEYOND UNDERSTANDING

Get Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1787   John 11:21 (ERV) Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. We live in a time when natural disasters, failed economies, and poverty have resulted in many deaths and great tragedies that so many have been led to ask questions like: If God is truly in charge of things, why would He allow such to happen? From our text, Martha may have sounded, due to her sorrow as humble in expressing herself but nonetheless, like so many (believers and nonbelievers alike), it was said in ignorance and in a way tried to impugn the faithfulness of God. While it is good to empathize and sympathize with others in tragedy, we must be careful not to err or join them to err against God because of grief. God owes no man any explanation and for one to question God’s faithfulness in a manner that presumes God as answerable to man, is one giving in to the flesh (Matt 12:45-46, Job 42:1-6, Rom 11:35). Even if our time and effort utilized in serving God haven’t translated into our desired earthly outcome, we must believe that God remains faithful. We may never understand the whys but His faithfulness is revealed in us when by faith, we put our focus on the eternal, above and beyond our own physical redemption (Read Job 19:25-26, Ps 16:8-11, Dan 3:16-18, Lk 23:40-43, Acts 7:56-60, 1Cor 4:16-18, Heb 11:35b). Go into today encouraged that though your trials may feel overwhelming now, God has promised that He will never leave you (Jn 16:33, Isa 43:2, Heb 13:5). —Chibo E.C. MATURITY AND THE BLESSING

Ephesians 4:14 (NET) So we are no longer to be children, tossed back and forth by waves and carried about by every wind of teaching by the trickery of people who craftily carry out their deceitful schemes. Sandra had a challenge that really troubled her. She was a believer and had certain spiritual gifts, but this challenge proved stubborn. After praying and fasting for months over the issue, she decided to meet her discipler concerning it. He got a prophetic insight into the problem and prayed for her from that standpoint, and the problem was solved. Sandra’s discipler could pray once and solve a problem she had battled for months because through spiritual maturity, he walked in more spiritual might and authority than her. Sandra knew it was time for her to become spiritually mature and stable. One attribute of spiritually mature believers is the willingness to give. Babies don’t give anything or contribute anything to the family, but only know how to take. But when babies grow to become responsible adults, they begin to give to their parents and not just take. There are believers who give to the work of God, but only because they believe that is a way to get more out of God. This is the same ‘take-take’ mentality of spiritual babes. The spiritually mature give because of love. They give because they know they are blessed [with all blessings in heavenly places], not primarily because they want to be blessed. Spiritually mature believers are stable and are not blown about by every wind of doctrine. They don’t give impulsively because someone promised a breakthrough in return. They give purposedly and cheerfully (2 Cor 9:7) because they see a need and desire to meet it, honor God by giving to His ministers and ministries; and honor God by giving to their parents (both physical and spiritual). Go into today knowing that your spiritual maturity is determined by your actions. Renounce every way and conduct of spiritual infancy, and you will begin to see the fruits of maturity in your life. The fruits of maturity include spiritual stability, walking in spiritual might and authority, etc. —Pst SD Abraham Get sermons here☞ streamglobe.org/34 Want to be saved? SECRET OF MULTIPLICATION

Get Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1784 Further explanations in the audio Matthew 15:36 (KJV)And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. “How on earth do you expect me to give out of the little I earn? My needs are almost ten times what I earn; I have always borrowed to meet up. Pastor, that your message on giving is for those who have plenty!” Luke 6:38 (KJV)“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” There are certain laws that govern existence; one of such is the law of sowing and reaping, planting and harvesting –giving and receiving. Now, there are many things that you can give, things such as your time, money, materials, and the fruits of your lips which are praises or thanksgiving to God. When Jesus was confronted with the need to feed the multitude and all he had was the little bread and fish, he offered it to God first by giving thanks before giving it to the disciples. The result was a multiplication. Anything offered to God in thanksgiving would multiply. Give whatever you are giving out of a thankful heart and God will multiply it. Go into today knowing that you will receive when you give, harvest when you plant and reap when you sow. However, it will be multiplied when you give, sow or plant with a thankful heart.—Dr. Emmanuel James Get sermons here☞ streamglobe.org/34 Yearly Bible: Acts 1-2 To start getting Devotional Text & Audio on your WhatsApp, join our WhatsApp Group Here☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/GCE4hTRdX9tH5dv0bUfYNa Streamglobe is interdenominational. HONOR AND THE BLESSING

Get Today’s Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1783 Further explanations in the audio 1 Corinthians 9:11 (NKJV) If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things? When Apostle Paul preached among the Corinthians, because he was very discerning, he knew that they were used to people bringing all kinds of marketing gimmicks and messages for the singular purpose of getting money from them. Corinth was a major metropolitan city in those days, and there were many money seeking speakers of all kinds. This probably made the Corinthians skeptical of any message that would eventually involve them bringing their money. So even after many among them had believed and become members of the church, Paul still wouldn’t collect a personal offering from them because he didn’t want anything to be a hindrance to the furtherance of the gospel among them. He would rather work with his hands as a tent maker to pay his bills. It wasn’t that Paul didn’t collect personal gifts from disciples in other places (for example, we see in Philippians 4:15-16, he collected donations from the Philippians), but he decided not to collect donations while he was among the Corinthians. In his first letter to the Corinthian church, it was time for them to understand an important spiritual principle that would be a blessing to them. This principle is that those who minister spiritual things to God’s people should receive physical things from them (see 1 Cor 9:4-15). In Genesis 14:18-20, we see that it was after Melchizedek ministered spiritual blessings to Abraham that Abraham gave him physical gifts (a tithe of all). Abraham understood this spiritual principle. No wonder he is such a blessed man. Go into today remembering that you are to honor those who minister spiritual things to you. That’s one sure way to honor God who sent them. —SD Abraham Get sermons here☞ streamglobe.org/34 Yearly Bible: Acts 1-2To start getting Devotional Text & Audio on your WhatsApp, join our WhatsApp Group Here☞ https://chat.whatsapp.com/FNr8dLidrh3Bei1KIFO4no Streamglobe is interdenominational.
