Colossians 1:13 (ISV) God has rescued us from the power of darkness and has brought us into the kingdom of the Son whom he loves
A kingdom is said to be the domain of a king, with a unique language, principles, culture, basically, a way of life that governs the people in that domain.
When a person is born again (Read John 3:3,5) he is translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Christ and he now has to unlearn the ways of the former kingdom and learn the ways of his new kingdom. This can only take place by the constant renewal of your mind through the word of God.
To function properly and manifest the ways and culture of this kingdom, such a person must operate by the manual (God’s word) and live by the Spirit consistently on a daily basis — being led by the Holy Spirit (see Ephesians 4:3). The Spirit breathes upon the word and grants understanding and grace to enable us live by the dictates of the word. 2 Peter 3:18 says, But grow in spiritual strength (Grace) and become better acquainted with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, while 2 Corinthians 3:18b (NLT) says …and as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him.
Go into today remembering that spending time with the word and fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit is indispensable if we must grow and manifest the God-life we have received.
Prayer: Lord. increase my hunger for the word and intimacy and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
