And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
A story in an article described a man who was on a journey with his pregnant wife on a plane when suddenly her water broke. Airlines these days have planes so tight one can barely move. The sudden stress caused a commotion, but thankfully, a medical nurse on that same flight along with some cabin crew members made space near the toilet compartment. There the man’s wife successfully was delivered a baby. Their joy knew no bounds.
We talk about how fast-paced life can be, and during Christmas and New Year this gets amplified. Many hurry to shop, travel, make sales, etc. Yet many leave no room for Jesus. Unfortunately, many believers get caught up in the frenzied celebrations yet really have no room for Him who they claim to celebrate.
During this season, we are reminded that He not only deserves a tiny manger-like room in our lives but in truth should hold the keys to the master bedroom of our lives. Revelations 3:20 and John 14:23 tells us that if we love Him and hear Him, there is no way He should remain standing outside our lives.
As you celebrate this season, make sure you have surrendered the temporary room of your life to Him because a day will come when Christ the Landlord of our lives will ask for the keys to judge how you have lived in His house.
